Mumbai police probe rape charges against Mithun's son Mimoh

MUMBAI: The Oshiwara Police Station has registered a complaint alleging rape charges against veteran Bollywood actor Mithun Chakraborty’s son and actor Mahaakshay alias Mimoh, an official said here on Saturday. “We have lodged the victim’s complaint and are investigating the matter before proceeding further,” Senior Police Inspector Dayanand H. Bangar told IANS, though he did not specify details. Among other charges, the police have booked Mimoh for rape, cheating, criminal intimidation, causing hurt and common intention along with his mother. Bollywood star Mithun Chakraborty‘s father breathed his last in Mumbai on Tuesday, but the veteran actor is currently stranded in Bengaluru owing to the ongoing COVID-19 lockdown.

Basanta Kumar Chakraborty, 95, reportedly died of renal failure after battling health problems for a while now.

Right now, the actor is trying to reach Mumbai to perform the last rites. He was in Bengaluru for a shoot. His eldest son Mahakshay, also known as Mimoh Chakraborty, is in Mumbai along with the rest of the family. Basantakumar was a former employee at Calcutta Telephones while wife Santimoyee was a homemaker. They had four children, a son and three daughters. Mithun, whose real name is Gouranga Chakraborty, is the eldest among the four children.

For the unversed, Mithun made his acting debut with the art house drama Mrigayaa (1976), for which he won his first National Film Award for Best Actor. Soon, the actor starred in the film titled ‘Disco Dancer’ as Jimmy, which was commercially successful in India and the Soviet Union and Russia

Just earlier this week, Mimoh aka Mahakshay Chakraborthy, resurfaced on the news front, albeit in a controversial way. The son of legendary actor Mithun Chakraborthy was facing allegations from Bhojpuri actress of rape and terminating pregnancy. On the other hand, a few weeks ago, there were reports about his engagement with another actress Madalsa Sharma. Now, four days away from his wedding, Madalsa’s mother has gone on to confirm in media reports that the wedding is indeed happening.

Mahakshay Chakraborty has been alleged of raping a Bhojpuri actress under the pretext of marriage in 2015. Furthermore, she has further gone to accuse of Mimoh and his mother Yogeeta Bali of plotting and terminating her pregnancy in the same year. Owing to the same, a case has been registered against the star kid-actor on Tuesday in Begumpur Police station, New Delhi under varied sections like 376, 328, 313, 417, and 506 of the Indian Penal Code. According to the statement given by the lawyer of actress in reports, he has asserted that the accused will be arrested before his wedding on July 7.

On the other hand, mother of the bride Madalsa, Sheetal Sharma has a completely different story to tell. She has confidently stated that they are aware of the real truth in the case and that the wedding will happen as per schedule. In fact, she is not only aware of Mimoh meeting the actress in 2015 but also added that Mithun’s son has registered a non-cognizable complaint against her in the past. Although she didn’t further talk about the details, she questioned why the issue that happened in 2015 has suddenly resurfaced in 2018 and that too right before Mimoh aka Mahakshay’s wedding.

Although no one from the Chakraborty family has responded to these allegations or commented on Mimoh’s marriage by far, we hear that the marriage is happening on July 7 in Ooty.

Remember Mahaakshay Chakraborty, yes Mithun Chakraborty’s son who made his Bollywood debut back in 2008 with the film Jimmy? Well, the actor who was last seen in the 2015 film Ishqedarriyaan seems to have landed in the eye of a storm. If reports are to be believed then a Rohini court has ordered an FIR to be lodged against Mahaakshay and his mother Yogita Bali for rape, cheating and wrongful termination of pregnancy.

This ruling comes after a complaint was lodged by an actress who has reportedly worked in Bhojpuri as well as Hindi films. As per her complaint the Mahaakshay made false promises of getting married to her in future and entered into a physical relationship with her. However, despite the repeated promises as per the complainant when she got pregnant, Mahaakshay gave her some medication that eventually caused a miscarriage. If that wasn’t all, the said complaint also states that his mother Yogita Bali even threatened her.

While exact details of the entire case are still awaited, reports also claim that the complainant alleges that she has been in a relationship with Mahaakshay for the past four years. While as of now the court has instructed the Begumpur police to initiate action related to the matter under Sections 90, 375, 114-A, 415, 25 of the IPC, it remains to be seen what really happens.

Meanwhile, Mahaakshay is scheduled to get married on July 7.
