Oh my god YES I could go hours and hours about Sikhs and bollywood and Sikhs in Bollywood
For an industry that's so centred around Punjabis and Sikhs and romanticism of your typical Punjabi life you think Bollywood would do a bit of research but nooo.
Non sikh actors are made to put on the pagg (see: Akshay Kumar in Kesari, Singh is King, Singh is Bling (because Sikhs can only be martyrs or a dumb comic relief), Ranbir Kapoor in Rocket Singh, Sunny Deol in Jo Bole So Nihal (I have no idea wtf this movie is about), Farhan Akhtar in Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, Vicky Kaushal in Sardar Udham, Aamir Khan in Laal Singh Chadda, although those last three do break the stereotypes Bollywood holds for Sikhs so like they're achieving the bare minimum)
And the irony here is that one Diljit Dosanjh interview I was watching (or read about, not sure) where he said he doesn't take on Bollywood roles that ask him to take the pagg off like I'm sorry you wanna have non sikh actors put it on but then an actual Sikh shows up you're like 'hm take that off thnx'
-that one anon who sent you that one ask this morning
oh my god yes i know exactly what you mean as a tamil person about bollywood bastardifying our culture 💀 but so much of this stuff flew under my radar, i didn't notice it was this bad?? it's so gross i never realised how often you guys are basically used as props for some political/optical agenda and then dropped when it comes to basically anything involving your actual wellbeing good god

Iqbal is a movie about a deaf and dumb boy who makes his way to the Indian Cricket team. Of course, some obstacles stop him from achieving his dream. The movie has a catching story and amazing acting of Shreyas Talpade, who connects well with the inspiring cricketers through his role of Iqbal.
4. Bhaag Milkha Bhaag (2013):
The movie needs no introduction. It is but, of course, the story of an Indian athlete, Milkha Singh. In the movie, we see Farhan Akhtar as Milkha Singh and his struggle from childhood to winning a championship in Asian Games and Commonwealth Games. The movie moves in flashbacks, showing Milkha Singh in his early childhood when he lost his parents during the India-Pakistan partition and his journey as an athlete. It is a real like story of a boy who lost his love but conquered his dream.
5. Chak De! India (2007):
Chak De! India is a realistic, lively, exciting, and inspirational sports film. The film is about India's much-ignored national sport of hockey, a female hockey team that is relegated to the sidelines, a dash of patriotism, team spirit, and, finally, the spirit of triumph over adversity. India boasts a simple script, an interesting screenplay, skilful execution, and natural performances.
India Bollywood cinema provides its audience with a bag full of entertainment in all genres. It has produced many sports movies based on the real-life of Indian players. In each movie, we get to see a social situation where the hero has to break the taboo and come out as a winner.
