SAN BENEDETTO – Continuano le soddisfazioni in casa Legio Picena, la scuola rugby che da ormai un decennio sforna a getto continuo giovani atleti che fanno onore allo sport sambenedettese. negli ultimi giorni, sono arrivate due belle notizie. Prima la convocazione di Gherardo Piunti e Pierpaolo Sciocchetti (16 e 15 anni rispettivamente) allo stage AMI, primo passaggio di selezione per le Accademie Federali.

Poi la straordinaria notizia della convocazione al raduno della nazionale U.18 dei due ex rossoblù Marlon Mignucci e Riccardo Schinchirimini (ambedue 17enni), passati al Rugby Viadana durante l’estate del 2016 nel quadro della collaborazione fra le due società.

“La Legio Picena -dice il presidente Antonio Angelini-  è una scuola rugby, si occupa di crescere bambini dai 5 anni in su, accompagnandoli nello sviluppo personale di ragazzi e di sportivi fino a 18 anni. Il tutto con una grande dose di serenità, così da farli divertire, da crescerli nella socialità e da portarli mano mano a scoprire e superare i propri limiti.”

La scuola rugby della Legio Picena si trova al Campo Rodi, nel complesso che comprende il Campo Europa, sul Lungomare di San Benedetto. Qui si gioca a rugby da sempre. Il Rodi è una specie di santuario; il suo terreno è stato calcato in passato da fuoriclasse internazionali del calibro di David Campese e Paul Thorburn, dagli All Blacks Frano Botica e Mike Brewer, dagli Spingbokes Thys Burger, Gysie Pienaar e Rudi Visagie. E da tantissimi nazionali azzurri, a cominciare dai sambenedettesi Pierluigi Camiscioni e Giovan Battista Croci, che proprio al Rodi ha iniziato a correre con la palla ovale fra le mani.

Ancora oggi si succedono stages con i migliori giocatori del momento. L’ex azzurro Filippo Frati, head coach del Viadana, scende con frequenza regolare al Rodi, che personalmente ritiene uno dai campi più suggestivi al mondo, anche per la vicinanza alla spiaggia. Frati porta con sé i suoi atleti più bravi, che effettuano sessioni di affinamento per ruolo.

“Le collaborazioni -aggiunge il presidente Angelini-  sono per la nostra società elemento fondante e distintivo. Lo stesso Riccardo Schinchirimini è un giocatore di formazione fermana, e con gli amici di Fermo abbiamo un rapporto speciale. In questa stagione stiamo lavorando insieme con loro e con i cugini di Ascoli per rendere più forti e competitive le nostre squadre. Con Viadana, poi, si è creato un rapporto speciale; Viadana è un top club, ma lì si sono resi conto della bontà del nostro lavoro. Effettivamente, la Legio Picena ha tecnici preparatissimi ed un bel gruppo di ragazzi che meritano opportunità importanti.”

Qual è il segreto? “Qui i giovani rugbisti -risponde Angelini- non sentono mai la pressione dell’ambiente e del risultato. Si cerca sempre di far capire loro quali possono essere le soglie di miglioramento raggiungibili, lavorando senza fretta e con gradualità. Per due ragazzi che vedono spalancarsi davanti un futuro azzurro, altri sono sulla rampa di lancio. Però sono necessari impegno e dedizione, oltre ad un comportamento moralmente esemplare in campo e fuori dal campo; perché la nostra scuola ha le sue regole ed il suo stile. E su questo, in casa Legio, proprio non si transige.”

Esce il 24 febbraio 2017 il primo album da solista del bassista e compositore emiliano Pier Bernardi, già al lavoro con Mike Campese, Darren Ashford (Black Eyed Peas, Sean Paul, Will Smith, Joss Stone), Paul Gilbert (Mr.Big) e Dave Holmes (Brian May and Roger Taylor).

Il disco, interamente strumentale e dal significativo titolo Re-Birth,  segna proprio una rinascita artistica e personale di Pier e si snoda lungo un percorso che prova a trasformare in musica sentimenti interiori e riflessioni personali. Attraverso la musica quindi, e senza le parole, Pier ci racconta la sua vita e le sue emozioni, in cui comunque ognuno di noi può ritrovarsi.

Le dieci tracce del disco godono della collaborazione di grandi artisti internazionali come Ace (Skunk Anansie) alla chitarra e Michael Urbano (Sheryl Crow, Ligabue) alla batteria, oltre che del prezioso cameo di David Rhodes (Peter Gabriel), Paolo Vinaccia e Roger Ludvigsen nel primo singolo “Grace”. La produzione artistica è di Giovanni Amighetti per Arvmusic, mentre le registrazioni sono state affidate al Dudemusic Studio di Stefano Riccò.

Pier Bernardi traccia per traccia

Il primo brano, A Bus, Your Hand, ci introduce a un universo che è senza dubbio rock, senza lasciare eventuali equivoci su possibili “post”: la chitarra è protagonista non unica, con la sezione ritmica in grado di dialogare da pari a pari. Stars and Stones preferisce discorsi un po’ meno sfacciati e adotta stilemi più vicini al math.

World Syncope si muove con eleganza in sentieri che stanno tra l’orientale e il cinematografico: la composizione è molto eclettica e sceglie un contrasto significativo tra il fraseggio del basso di Bernardi e un drumming insistito e martellante. I Am Ready Now si regge su dinamiche che alternano sprazzi di luce e di buio, adottando le caratteristiche di un pezzo hard rock molto intenso.

C’è qualcosa di ondeggiante all’interno di While You Are Sleeping, pezzo ricco d’inquietudine che sceglie ambientazioni moderate e sottili. Anche Grace si impegna su piani di dialogo a volume moderato, svuotando l’atmosfera anziché riempirla. Blonde noise mette sotto le luci soprattutto il drumming, anche se la tessitura di Bernardi è meno rumorosa ma non meno efficace.

Ci si affida al miracolistico con Little Squares of Miracles, che acquista luce soprattutto dalla chitarra, mentre gli altri strumenti si occupano per lo più delle cose terrene. Movimenti all’oscuro e sotto il pelo dell’acqua quelli di Dresses upon us. Il disco chiude la porta con una (parzialmente) delicata My Eyes Are Yours, che acquista qualche aculeo nella coda.

Disco intenso e piacevole, quello confezionato da Pier Bernardi, che riesce a trovare sostanze buone in ogni singolo pezzo. L’ispirazione di base è ottima, e il fatto di coinvolgere collaboratori di alto livello non guasta di sicuro.
