Part 2 of me talking abt class 1a friendships that I rlly want to see: midojirou addition!

Ok so I’m probably so attached to this one bc they’re both my favs and obviously I want my favs to be friends BUT

I think they’d also be good friends like even without my bias for them??

I already made a post a while back about how cute the scene where Jirou asks Midoriya about his notebook organization was but like. Come on it was so cute they have such good friendship potential!!

After Midoriya sees Jirou’s notebooks and offers her tips to organize them, Jirou makes him a playlist of songs she thinks he’d like as a thank you

Midoriya is so Touched and listens to it a lot (nobody’s ever made him a playlist before!!!), especially once he finds that she totally hit the nail on the head about his music taste! He starts asking her music questions and she’s a little self conscious at first, but he’s so genuinely curious that she eventually loses that self consciousness and just starts rambling about music

In return she lets Midoriya ramble about heroes and quirks (he is also self conscious at first since his rambling’s historically been seen as “creepy” or “weird” but she thinks it’s only fair to let him ramble too so once he realizes that she isn’t gonna make fun of him he gets more confident about it as well)! They spend hours talking about their interests and listening to the other talk about their interests, and they both start learning more about the things their friend is passionate about!

Jirou starts picking up combat strategies, new ways to use her quirk, and useful information about heroes/villains/their classmates from Midoriya, and Midoriya starts learning things about music and sound from Jirou (some of the things he learns give him new ideas about quirks, especially sound based quirks and detecting/locating enemies, and battle strategy)!

Jirou finds out Midoriya can sing after hearing him humming a song from the playlist she made him one day, and makes sure to tell him that his voice is really good, which flusters him immensely

One day the class has a karaoke night and Jirou convinces Midoriya to do a duet with her and they end up having fun AND blowing the class away with their talent

Midoriya confesses that at some point he wanted to learn to play an instrument, but he never did and since his hand is kinda fucked up now he probably doesn’t have the motor skills to learn and Jirou takes that as a challenge and starts teaching him something that doesn’t require quite as fine movements (idk what since I don’t actually play any instruments I just sing but I think it’d be so cute!)

One day Jirou beats bakugou in a combat exercise partially bc she utilized information she learned from Midoriya, and Midoriya is So Proud

Jirou already has a good mind (she had good ideas abt how to utilize Kaminari’s quirk at usj + she placed 7th in midterms + she analyzed what each person needed to learn to play their instrument and gave them personalized advice), so the more she hears Midoriya’s analysis, the more she picks up on what kinds of things he analyzes and starts doing it herself, which benefits her a lot and excites Midoriya. He loves hearing what she thinks of and adds commentary of his own and they kinda bounce off each other!

Midoriya tends to like,,, not outwardly mention when things make him uncomfortable or angry unless he’s under a lot of stress (see: when he’s fighting people) and Jirou notices and encourages him to actually voice his opinions when things make him upset bc it’s obviously not healthy to keep all his negative emotions bottled up like that. This results in Midoriya being a tiny bit more likely to stand up for himself, and in Midoriya and Jirou having shit-talking sessions when one/both of them has had a hard day

Jirou wants to get better at painting nails for when the girls do their girls night sleepovers so Midoriya offers to let her practice on him. Then next day Midoriya is just a little more careful in training exercises bc he doesn’t want to ruin Jirou’s hard work, and the rest of class 1a is like “please keep doing that anything that makes Midoriya treat himself a bit more carefully is great!” so because it’s mutually beneficial it becomes a semi-regular thing. The next time Jirou goes to girls night Mina compliments her on her improved nail skills and she’s quietly pleased.

They r bi/lesbian (or just bi if you prefer bi Jirou) solidarity! Jirou: girls....pretty Midoriya: *furious nodding* yeah!!!

They are both really good at mario kart and usually end up being the finalists if the dorm does mario kart tournaments (could not tell you why I think this but I do). Jirou plays Rosalina cause she’s gay and Midoriya plays Luigi (a remnant from when he and bakugou played mario kart as little kids and bakugou forced Midoriya to be Luigi bc he wanted to be Mario)

One time Jirou couldn’t sleep and decided she was hungry so she went down to the dorm kitchen to eat the leftovers from lunch and found Midoriya already there, pulling the last portion of leftovers out of the fridge. They kind of stare at each other for a moment then Jirou’s like “HEY!” and starts chasing him around the common room, quietly cursing as she almost trips when she turns around the couch. As they’re running they’re whisper-arguing about who needs the food more, and when Jirou suddenly changes direction, jumps on the couch, and uses it to springboard to the other side, Midoriya is taken by surprise and she tackles him, causing the two of them to land in a heap on the floor while the food spills nearby. They’re not injured and because of their hero training they manage to soften their landing so the crash isn’t as loud as it could’ve been, but nevertheless they resign themselves to cleaning up the mess and just microwaving instant noodles or something. When Kirishima asks where the leftovers are the next morning they studiously avoid eye contact.
