#Microsoft Partner Support New York

The U.S. presidential election is less than 50 days away, and this week served up some grim reminders of how high the stakes are—and how intent Washington’s adversaries are on swaying or disrupting the vote.
New details have emerged of cyberattacks and election interference efforts by China, Russia, and Iran, with U.S. officials and technology executives sounding the alarm about the countries’ intent to sow chaos in the weeks leading up to Election Day on Nov. 5.
Russian cyber groups have pivoted in the last two months to attacking the campaign of Vice President Kamala Harris, according to a new report Microsoft released Tuesday. The groups have spread several fake videos, including one purportedly showing a Harris supporter attacking an attendee at a rally for former President Donald Trump, another (through a fake San Francisco news site) that falsely claimed Harris was involved in a hit-and-run incident, and a third showing a fake billboard in New York City listing false claims about Harris’s policies.
“As we inch closer to the election, we should expect Russian actors to continue to use cyber proxies and hacktivist groups to amplify their messages through media websites and social channels geared to spread divisive political content, staged videos, and AI-enhanced propaganda,” Microsoft wrote.
President Joe Biden’s administration has stepped up its efforts to combat Russia’s disinformation and influence operations, imposing a series of sanctions earlier this month on state-run media outlets including Russia Today (RT) for acting on behalf of the Kremlin to “undermine confidence in the United States’ election processes and institutions.” RT has also developed cyber capabilities with direct ties to Russian intelligence services and is involved in a crowdfunding effort to procure military equipment for Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken told reporters last week while announcing additional sanctions on the network.
“We urge every ally, every partner to start by treating RT’s activities as they do other intelligence activities by Russia within their borders,” Blinken said. Tech companies Meta and Google responded to the sanctions by restricting RT content and accounts from their social media platforms this week.
On Wednesday, FBI Director Christopher Wray announced that the agency had successfully hit back against another formidable cyber adversary: China. FBI teams took down a botnet—a network of compromised computers controlled by hackers who were “working at the direction of the Chinese government,” Wray told an audience at the Aspen Cyber Summit in Washington. Wray said the hackers allegedly took over hundreds of thousands of internet-connected devices, including cameras and storage devices—half of which were in the United States—to conduct espionage and disrupt critical systems. “We think the bad guys finally realized it was the FBI and our partners that they were up against, and with that realization they essentially burned down their new infrastructure and abandoned their botnet,” he added.
The U.S. government takedown of the botnet, allegedly run by a hacking group called Flax Typhoon, is the second such offensive cyber operation against China in less than a year. It follows a December 2023 operation against another group known as Volt Typhoon. Officials expect it won’t be the last.
“We’d like to see more of these and more frequently,” a senior administration official said of the takedown, speaking to reporters on Wednesday evening following Wray’s announcement. “What we’ve really been discussing here from the White House is what can be done to accelerate and do these regularly, so that we make it riskier, costlier, and harder for China to conduct their large-scale cyber operations.”
And then there’s Washington’s third—and increasingly brazen—cyber adversary. On Wednesday, three U.S. agencies issued a joint statement on Iran’s efforts to target Trump’s 2024 campaign. Iranian hackers who breached the Trump campaign in recent months sent “stolen, non-public” material from the campaign via email to individuals associated with Biden’s reelection campaign before he dropped out and was replaced by Harris, according to the statement by the FBI, the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, and the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA). “There is currently no information indicating those recipients replied,” the agencies added.
Iran has stepped up its efforts to interfere in the 2024 race amid an escalating proxy conflict with key U.S. ally Israel and has targeted the Trump campaign in particular in what experts see as retaliation for his administration’s 2020 assassination of Iranian Gen. Qassem Suleimani.
Despite some key public victories this week, the consensus in the cyberdefense community is that the battle is only just beginning—and is only likely to get more intense as Election Day draws closer, with the United States facing three highly capable adversaries who, if not directly working together, share similar goals.
“Arguably, the 2024 election cycle is facing the most complex threat landscape yet,” Cait Conley, a senior advisor for CISA, said at the Politico AI and Tech Summit this week. “We do see a growing and diverse array of foreign actors who are trying to influence our American democratic process. … Regardless of the actor, their objectives are the same—they want to undermine the American people’s confidence in our democratic institutions, and they want to sow partisan discord.”
Senior industry leaders visiting Washington this week echoed that sentiment. “We know that there is a presidential race between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris, but this has also become an election of Iran versus Trump and Russia versus Harris,” Microsoft’s president, Brad Smith, told the Senate Intelligence Committee in a hearing about election threats on Wednesday. “And it is an election where Russia, Iran, and China are united with a common interest in discrediting democracy in the eyes of our own voters and even more so in the eyes of the world.”

The Center for Investigative Reporting said Thursday it has sued ChatGPT maker OpenAI and its closest business partner, Microsoft, marking a new front in the news industry’s fight against unauthorized use of its content on artificial intelligence platforms. The nonprofit, which produces Mother Jones and Reveal, said that OpenAI used its content without permission and without offering compensation, violating copyrights on the organization’s journalism. The lawsuit, filed in a New York federal court, describes OpenAI’s business as “built on the exploitation of copyrighted works” and focuses on how AI-generated summaries of articles threaten publishers. “It’s immensely dangerous,” Monika Bauerlein, the nonprofit’s CEO, told The Associated Press. “Our existence relies on users finding our work valuable and deciding to support it.” Bauerlein said that “when people can no longer develop that relationship with our work, when they no longer encounter Mother Jones or Reveal, then their relationship is with the AI tool.” That, she said, could “cut the entire foundation of our existence as an independent newsroom out from under us” while also threatening the future of other news organizations.

How Truepic Validates Visual Content In A Deepfake World
In the era of deepfakes, trust what you see: How Truepic verifies photos and videos
What is Truepic?
A digital inspection platform called Truepic Vision offers a rapid and easy method of sending certified, reliable photos and videos straight to the person making the request.
Leading the effort to ensure that people are aware of the source of what they are viewing on the internet is Truepic.
The prevalence of artificial intelligence (AI)-generated bogus information was brought home in March 2023 when pictures of Pope Francis walking outside the Vatican wearing a stylish designer puffer jacket went viral online. You would think the image of the pontiff, complete with a gaudy crucifix, was real unless you looked closely at it.
The pictures became viral at the same time as generative AI gained enormous popularity. Since then, increasingly advanced and easily available programs have been developed to produce realistic images and films using basic cues. It also means that whatever you see online is tougher to believe.
Here’s where Truepic can help. The company has spearheaded the development of a system that uses metadata to confirm the authenticity of photos and videos. It is collaborating with a wide range of partners, including software content producers like Adobe, social network giants like Meta, and tech giants like Microsoft and Google.
Because online misinformation and disinformation are still a concern, this has given content producers, publishers, and social media platforms a better understanding of what is real and what is phony.
Introducing Truepic
Realizing that there would soon be a need for transparency and authenticity in a future where bogus content may damage everything from online dating to commerce and sabotage elections globally, Truepic was founded in 2016.
It spent years refining and developing its product while testing a variety of methods for content authentication at the point of origin. The New York Times, Adobe, Twitter, Microsoft, and the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) all supported various efforts that started to take shape around the same period.
A non-profit group named the Coalition for Content Provenance and Authenticity (C2PA.org) served as the standard’s steward, and Truepic collaborated with numerous of these businesses to develop and define the C2PA standard. Among the steering committee members who now serve as the group’s leaders are Amazon, Adobe, the BBC, Google, Intel, Microsoft, Meta, OpenAI, Publicis Groupe, Sony, and Truepic.
Cryptographic hashing and digital signatures, which are incorporated into a picture or video at the time of creation, are the foundation of the C2PA standard. Data like the equipment or program used to capture the media, when it was taken, and whether editing software was used are all included in the metadata. After that, a different C2PA-enabled device can unlock and examine the data to confirm the authenticity of the picture.
It is crucial that Truepic collaborates with so many athletes who uphold the standard because of this.
Truepic Vision
Truepic provides an enterprise-grade version of C2PA, which is an open specification with extra security, dependability, and support. Additionally, it provides Truepic Vision, a stand-alone software as a service that enables businesses to request, take, and examine reliable digital images and videos in place of time-consuming and expensive on-site inspections.
A few years later, the demand for a business like Truepic has increased because to the intricacy and caliber of content produced by AI.
Qualcomm Technologies reached out to Truepic in order to work together on a proof of concept that would ultimately lead to an authentication solution for the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 mobile platform, integrating with Snapdragon for on-device authentication. In order to provide vault-like protection for a device’s critical data, engineers from both sides worked every day to improve Truepic’s services directly for usage with Qualcomm Technologies’ Trusted Execution Environment in the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 mobile platform.
The C2PA signing is handled by Qualcomm Technologies’ Trusted Execution Environment, which further strengthens the security of the authentication process by making it more difficult for malicious actors to alter the cryptographic keys that safeguard the data.
What comes next?
The U.S. presidential election, which has already seen its fair share of AI-content muddy the field, serves as the best example of the applicability of Truepic’s services. Along with TikTok, Meta, Google, OpenAI, and other firms, it was one of 20 to join the AI Elections Accord in February 2024, pledging to fight false AI election material.
Because they may lack the time or resources to deal with picture and other internet content verification themselves, businesses are increasingly turning to C2PA and Truepic.
Additionally, more businesses are eager to join as they can see the direction that AI safety rules are taking. C2PA is viewed by many as a means of complying with upcoming regulations.
The goal of Truepic is to integrate its technology into the upcoming flagship phones that use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 architecture. According to McGregor, this will enable Truepic to expand the technology to a new level.

OpenAI argued that the publishers had no legal standing to bring this claim, stating they failed to offer proof that ChatGPT was trained on their material, let alone that the training was harmful. Judge Colleen McMahon of the US Southern District of New York agreed with OpenAI’s argument, dismissing the case for lack of standing.
“We build our AI models using publicly available data, in a manner protected by fair use and related principles, and supported by long-standing and widely accepted legal precedents,” says OpenAI spokesperson Jason Deutrom.
Although this is a major setback for Alternet and Raw Story, it’s not necessarily the end. “We do intend to continue the case,” says Raw Story founder and CEO John Byrne. The next step is requesting permission from the judge to file an amended complaint.
“We’re confident that we can address the court’s concerns in an amended complaint,” says Matt Topic, a partner at Loevy & Loevy, the firm representing Raw Story Media. While Judge McMahon describes herself as “skeptical” that the outlets could “allege a cognizable injury” in the dismissal, her ruling does indicate that she’s open to considering a new filing.
Topic, who also represents The Intercept in a similar DMCA case against OpenAI, as well as the nonprofit newsroom the Center for Investigative Reporting in a copyright infringement case against both OpenAI and Microsoft, says he is “confident that these kinds of DMCA claims are permitted under the Constitution.”

Why You Should Consider Zoom Alternatives for Your Next Video Conference
Over the past few years, Zoom has become a household name when it comes to video conferencing. However, as your business grows and evolves, you may find that Zoom no longer meets your needs. You're not alone - many businesses are exploring alternatives to Zoom, and for good reason.
One of the primary reasons businesses are looking for Zoom alternatives is due to the common limitations and challenges they face with the platform. For instance, you may have experienced issues with connectivity, poor video quality, or limited features for large-scale meetings. Additionally, Zoom's security concerns and lack of customization options may be holding you back from achieving your desired level of productivity and collaboration. These limitations can hinder your ability to effectively communicate with your team, clients, and partners, ultimately affecting your bottom line.
Luckily, there are top-notch Zoom alternatives that can outperform Zoom in many ways. For example, AON Meetings offers advanced features such as AI-powered noise reduction, customizable branding, and seamless integration with popular productivity tools. Google Meet, another popular alternative, provides a more secure and reliable platform with advanced features like live captioning and low-light mode. Other alternatives like Skype, Microsoft Teams, and Cisco Webex offer unique features that cater to specific business needs. By exploring these alternatives, you can find a platform that better suits your business requirements and enhances your video conferencing experience.
But don't just take our word for it - many businesses have already made the switch to Zoom alternatives and seen significant improvements. For instance, a marketing firm in New York switched to AON Meetings and reported a 30% increase in meeting productivity due to the platform's advanced features and customization options. A software development company in California switched to Google Meet and saw a 25% reduction in meeting downtime due to the platform's enhanced security and reliability. These case studies demonstrate the tangible benefits of exploring Zoom alternatives.
So, how do you choose the best Zoom alternative for your business needs? Start by identifying your specific requirements, such as the number of users, meeting frequency, and desired features. Research different alternatives and compare their pricing, features, and customer support. Read reviews and case studies to get a sense of each platform's strengths and weaknesses. By taking the time to evaluate your options, you can find a Zoom alternative that perfectly aligns with your business goals and objectives.
In summation, switching to a Zoom alternative can have a significant impact on your business's productivity, collaboration, and bottom line. By exploring alternative platforms, you can overcome the limitations of Zoom and find a solution that better meets your needs. 7 Reasons to Hire Indian eLearning Companies for Your Business
ON 7 REASONS TO HIRE INDIAN ELEARNING COMPANIES FOR YOUR BUSINESS
In a short span of time, online learning is gaining the credibility of classroom learning, making learning easier for everyone. Having advanced corporate eLearning solutions is the key to having a skilled workforce. Thus, organizations are relying on eLearning platforms to provide employee training.
While custom eLearning solutions companies are easily available, quality should never be compromised. Indian eLearning companies are booming rapidly and are gaining an incredible reputation worldwide for delivering quality solutions at a reasonable cost.
So what points must one consider while shortlisting custom eLearning solutions companies?
What is my budget?
What is my TAT?
What quality of output is required?
Which company is quick to respond to my queries?
Who has proactive suggestions to provide?
Will I receive post-delivery support?
While these are common questions that come to mind, most companies struggle most with the first question – how do I get everything within my budget? At this point, it is good to consider Indian eLearning companies, which deliver quality products at competitive rates. Here are some reasons why Indian eLearning companies are gaining popularity for custom e-learning development.
Cost Effective Solutions
Manpower cost differs from country to country, which is why it is a good option to consider outsourcing your requirements overseas. While you can easily find an eLearning company in New York, the manpower cost is much higher than in other countries. In India, the manpower cost is comparatively low. In addition, other overhead costs, such as rentals, equipment, electricity, transport, etc. are also less compared to advanced countries, thus allowing them to provide quality solutions at a lesser cost. Today, many American companies have appointed Indian companies as their vendor partners for multiple needs. E-learning is one such need that is constantly being outsourced to India for cost-effective solutions.
Access to Skilled Manpower
Today, India is ranked among the most populated countries, making manpower availability easy. Also, India is a fast-developing country with a large number of people completing their education in various fields. Technology is one such field gaining importance, with a large number of people undertaking various technical certifications. The availability of Instructional Designers is also on the increase, making it easier to develop well-visualized e-learning courses. The overall availability of manpower for custom eLearning development is ever-increasing, making it easy to hire a team to deliver quality solutions.
Technical Knowledge
Many Indian personalities, such as Sundar Pichai, Satya Nadella, Shantanu Narayen, etc. have held key positions in well-known IT companies. Also, commonly used apps, such as Hike messenger, LinkedIn Pulse, Signeasy, etc. were developed by Indian personalities. Today, a lot of IT professionals from India travel overseas to share their technical knowledge and expertise with companies, such as Microsoft, Adobe, Apple, etc. Thus, you can be sure to find technically sound experts in India who can not only develop rapid e-learning courses but can also customize them through custom coding and designing. As a result, you can be sure of receiving high-end custom e-learning courses by partnering with Indian eLearning companies.
Scalable Team
eLearning course development is a lengthy process that goes through multiple stages, such as storyboarding, editing, voice recording, integration, custom scripting, and quality assurance. Each stage requires a different skill set. Thus collating a team for custom eLearning development can be a daunting task. This is where Indian eLearning companies are at an advantage as they have access to a vast pool of quality resources for each stage of e-learning development. It is not only easy to scale up your existing team by partnering with Indian e-learning vendors, but you can also quickly replace a resource who may not be able to continue on the project. Thus, Indian eLearning companies are a great option to develop quick and quality e-learning courses in large numbers without compromising on delivery plans.
Professionalism
With the ever-increasing global demand for Indian products and services, companies hire a professional workforce who are capable of not only delivering quality but are also good at communication and project management. Indian companies are also constantly investing in training programs regarding ethics and values, communication, fair trade practices, etc. to empower their workforce with professional skills.
Post-Delivery Support
Most companies mark their projects as complete on delivery of the product or service, however, Indian eLearning companies understand that there may be some feedback and fixing required once the courses are rolled out to the learners. They are quick to understand the challenges faced and provide quick solutions that ensure that your training plans are not interrupted.
Improved ROI
Indian eLearning companies provide you with:
Great corporate training solutions
Reduced cost of development
Timely delivery
Support post delivery
These four together guarantee an increase in ROI resulting in happy and repeating customers.

Microsoft-Backed Startup Rubrik Prices IPO at $32 Per Share, Raising $752 Million
Rubrik Inc., a cloud and data security startup supported by Microsoft Corp., has finalized its initial public offering (IPO) above the expected range, raising a total of $752 million. Rubrik: Microsoft-Backed Startup Prices IPO at $32 per Share to Raise $752m Originally planning to sell 23 million shares within the $28 to $31 range, Rubrik instead opted to sell them for $32 each, according to a statement. Additionally, the company added 500,000 shares to the IPO at a later stage, as per a filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission. At the IPO price, Rubrik would boast a market value of roughly $5.6 billion, based on the outstanding shares listed in its filings. When factoring in stock options and restricted share units, the company's fully diluted valuation surpasses $6.6 billion. Rubrik's offering attracted about 20 times the number of orders as available shares, with considerations to potentially sell them at $34 apiece, as per earlier reports by Bloomberg News. The company, specializing in securing corporate data across enterprise, cloud, and software-as-a-service applications, marks only the second sizable US IPO by an enterprise software startup in the past two years. The recent IPO by Klaviyo Inc., a marketing and data automation provider backed by Shopify Inc., ended a dry spell in September with a $659 million offering. Rubrik's IPO comes amidst a surge in technology IPOs in 2024, including Reddit Inc., Astera Labs Inc., and Ibotta Inc. AI-related investments have garnered significant attention, with Reddit's IPO success being attributed to revenue from licensing data for AI model training. Rubrik, though yet to turn a profit, stands to benefit from this trend, especially after a decline in software sector contract spending. Founded in 2013, Rubrik boasts over 6,100 customers, including prominent entities like Goldman Sachs Group Inc., Barclays Plc, and Citigroup Inc. Its client base spans governments, universities, and a diverse array of companies such as Home Depot Inc., PepsiCo Inc., Illumina Inc., and Fiserv Inc., among others. Microsoft's equity investment in Rubrik in 2021, alongside backers like Bain Capital Ventures, Lightspeed Venture Partners, and Greylock Partners, underscores confidence in the startup. Through its partnership with Microsoft, Rubrik has committed to utilizing Azure, Microsoft's cloud computing platform, for its data security solutions. Rubrik recorded a $354 million net loss in the year ended January 31, alongside $24.5 million in negative free cash flow, despite a 47% growth in subscription annual recurring revenue. Amidst a strong market for IPOs in 2024, Rubrik's offering, led by Goldman Sachs, Barclays, Citigroup, and Wells Fargo & Co., is expected to commence trading on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol RBRK. academic copy editing services | 7 Reasons to Hire Indian eLearning Companies for Your Business
Here are some reasons why Indian eLearning companies are gaining popularity for e-learning development.

Make Me Care About Podcast: Solving The World's Problems One Step At A Time
Don't forget about Bill Gates on Jeffrey Epstein's island of underage sex. Don't forget about his philandering on Melinda, his then-wife. But remember that the Gates's have amassed billions of dollars to make the world a better place. And, contrary to right-wing extremists, Gates has never been part of any grand conspiracy, unless you count the one where we all use Microsoft Office and the Windows OS.
In March, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation announced a new podcast series called, Make Me Care About, hosted by award–winning podcast host and New York Times best-selling author Jen Hatmaker. The13 episodes of the first season are available, and I've listened to every one of them. Based in Seattle, Washington, the Gates Foundation is led by CEO Mark Suzman, under the direction of Co-chairs Bill Gates and Melinda French Gates and the board of trustees.
The podcast feature Jen Hatmaker in conversation with guests from around the world who are solving some of the world’s biggest problems. Listeners will hear stories of health care workers, advocates, scientists, and educators whom the foundation supports through its thousands of grantees, as well as employees, all of whom are working to end disease, poverty, and inequality.
“By investigating innovative but often overlooked solutions to global challenges, Make Me Care About is an invitation for listeners to be inspired by amazing people and their work on world-changing projects,” said Susan Byrnes, chief communications officer at the Gates Foundation. “Through conversations with our partners and experts, Jen shares some of the remarkable stories that motivate our work to create a world where every person—no matter where they’re born—is able to live a healthy life and reach their full potential.”
Each episode dives into a different challenge. Topics range from maternal mortality to the importance of iodized salt, the pivotal developmental stage of ninth grade to the impact of malaria on communities around the globe, from poop and outdated toilets to garbanzo beans’ role in tackling malnutrition.
One of my favorite episodes was the one on wastewater. In the episode, host Hatmaker speaks to Supriya Kumar, who is the Program Officer in Global Health in the Gates Foundation. Kumar explains that by testing the sewage in a particular location, health officials can determine what pathogens are in the area and a particular hazard. For example, the polio virus was identified in New York City last year due to surveilling wastewater. Kumar points out that closed-loop settings, like university dorms, were useful during the pandemic, in determining possible pathogen exposure among students.
Jen Hatmaker wears a lot of hats in her life. See what I did there? She's an author, podcaster, speaker, advocate, educator, and Mother. She is also creator / host of the For The Love podcast, with an ear worthy episode being an interview with standup comedian Nate Bargatze.
As a host, she's first class, asking detailed questions and exuding an enthusiasm for the topics that is infectious.
“I love to share inspiring stories, so I’m excited to be partnering with the Gates Foundation on the Make Me Care About podcast,” said Hatmaker. “Every episode is a real opportunity to connect with some of the most remarkable people the foundation works with. Together, we’ll investigate the deeply important and impactful topics that often get little attention and explore the stories behind some of the most innovative solutions helping us all to live, grow, and thrive.”
“These days, it can be hard to feel hopeful when you check in with your newsfeed,” said Chloe Louvouezo, senior content producer at the Gates Foundation. “This podcast aims to change that. It dives into fascinating developments that don't often show up in the news. It gives people a way to relate to issues that may feel far away and to consider their role in helping others, both in their community and around the world.”
