⋆ ◦ ° ☾ nick robinson + cismale + he/him — have you seen micah ‘aaron’ stowers? they sure have been hanging out at the warehouse a lot recently. they are a twenty two year old known as the sheep and they currently work for the savages as a runner, which they’ve been doing for two years. a bisexual pisces, they are responsible + caring, as well as lost + semi-bitter. denim jackets, big bodies of water at sunrise, brick walls.
*mentions of faking death in here
micah’s story all started when his two troubled parents met one rainy night when a bunch of kids from their school were out vandalizing some old house. they were both addicted to causing trouble and causing a ruckus. his dad was in the savages already, and after he and his mom fell in love she joined as well. they worked all over the savages, going between being runners, dealers, hit men. the two were unstoppable, and madly in love. it didn’t take long for them to have a child, and then another soon after that was aaron.
born aaron, the family lived in a small, but nice house in valdez that seemed inconspicuous to what the family was doing for a living. they lived next to a cute old couple that micah grew close to when he was a kid, and he would visit them all the time, especially since his parents were always out and they didn’t always take him to meetings or certain jobs. it was through the old couple that micah grew compassionate for everything and everyone, since his parents definitely weren’t teaching him to be kind and fair. they just wanted him to join in their footsteps when he was older, and once he was old enough to realize what they were doing, he decided that he never wanted that.
so he did his best in school so that one day he could skip town and do something valuable with his life instead of pedal drugs like his parents did. he didn’t expect that during high school that he would meet the girl of his dreams when his nose was constantly down a book, studying or just reading to get a peace of mind from all the chaos surrounding him at home. claire wasn’t his type at first, she was more... forward than him. but something just drew him to her, and they fell perfectly in love. she was everything he wanted, and they built up a future with another. they were the one couple that made it past high school and were going to make it forever. have that perfect picket fence house one day and some kids. that’s what micah wanted, but of course, it didn’t end up like that.
throughout his teenage years his parents insisted that he joined the savages with them. they were their ‘family’. micah knew them better than his own blood related family, but that didn’t make him love them more. he never told claire that his family was in the savages, because he knew the bad things that they were capable of and he didn’t want her to be a part of that. he didn’t want to be a part of that. so he tried to stay away from it as long as he could, constantly fighting with his parents about what he needed to do. his older sibling left before they could get sucked in, but aaron just saw no escape. claire was his safe place, somewhere he could get away from that and just focus on what he wanted his future to be like. their love was so passionate and pure because he put all his heart into it.
that’s why when his parents dropped a bomb down on him that his heart just shattered. their parents were so dedicated, so in debt with the savages that they threatened him in order to get him to join. now, they liked claire, but not as much as they liked their idea of their perfect savage family. they constantly tormented the idea of something happening to claire if he didn’t join, and so one day they just told micah plainly: if you don’t join, something bad might happen to claire. if he joined, she would be left alone, and they could all live happily ever after. it was micah’s nightmare. he didn’t believe that joining would leave claire safe, and he couldn’t tell her that his family were savages. she had no idea. but the worst thing was that she could get hurt either way, and that would kill him if something happened to her.
so after thinking hard about what to do, he decided that he just needed to disappear. disappear from her life so that she wouldn’t get hurt, and she wouldn’t have to know. that idea was that he was going to fake his death and become another person. she would never know. it hurt him so bad that he had to do this, but this was better than her getting hurt or killed because he didn’t join. the few weeks leading up to his fake death he tried to be around her as much as he could, which wasn’t unusual. he tried to act normal, but he was a little more lovey than usual (if that was possible, they were always sickly sweet). and then one night, when they were just relaxing on the couch, he had something set up to seem like the gang was fighting outside the house. he left, gunshots fired, and him and his parents faked his death.
micah stowers was the name he changed to when he joined the savages. no one knew him as aaron there anymore, and he made sure no one called him that so claire would never find out that he was still alive. he was made a runner, so he could lay a little lower than some people. he did whatever he was told to do, to run drugs or money or whatever anyone needed to be sent out. he tried to stay away from all the fighting and the heavy stuff, not wanting to break all of his morals. his lion’s head tattoo was on his back, over his shoulder blade. he didn’t want it to be visible to himself. didn’t want to be reminded 24/7. he was already sad enough that he had to leave his old life behind. it made him into a new person. he was quieter and more solemn. of course he wasn’t always that way, but he just got more pessimistic about life once his crumbled around him.
now with claire back in his life things are starting to look up. he’s happier and getting back into wanting to do something with his life instead of being a bum about it all the time.
w a n t e d c o n n e c t i o n s:
savage friends: while he tries to stay away from the people in the gang, things happen and he is bound to grow close to a few of them. he may still act distant at times, but he goes to them when he’s looking to not spend his night instead and watching harry potter until he passes out.
best friend: other than his girlfriend, this one person he confides in a lot. most likely grew their relationship more recently, but they are still super close.
friends: from cobras to civilians, just anyone that he can hang out with and have a good time.
sibling !!! : the one that got away, who he envies and also has some rough feelings for. he wishes they would’ve taken him with them to get away from this town. him and claire, of course.

Week 8 Picks Against Spread
BAL vs TB
Seems too easy to take Baltimore w/ how ugly it’s been for the Bucs but that’s what Vegas wants you to believe. Bucs can’t run the ball Brady has no time or interest in the pocket. Could get worse before it gets better for Tampa. On the flip side Baltimore dealing w several key injuries. Andrews, Bateman, Stanley, Campbell. Wouldn’t touch this game. Gun to my head
TB +1
DEN vs JAX
Both teams could struggle to move the ball. Regardless who quarterbacks for the Broncos their offense is not scaring anyone. Denver could be sellers at trade deadline. And their coach may not last his first season. This looks like a team imploding on itself. Jags in London not exactly a home game but close enough.
JAX -2.5
PIT vs PHI
Not much to complain about in Philadelphia right now. Pittsburgh is feisty and can surprise teams if they are taken lightly. I don’t think the Eagles will after a bye week- hungry to make fans forget about the Phillies for a day. That being said, the Eagles have taken their foot off the gas in the third quarter and allowed teams to creep back. Steelers late cover.
PIT +10.5
MIA vs DET
Line already moved half point in MIA favor. Betting public seems to know that this Dolphins team is legit and Detroit has lost whatever excitement they had going early on in the season. Their defense may give up 45+.
MIA -3.5
ARI vs MIN
The Vikings are the better team. Arizona showed some signs last week w DHop return. Defensively they could be turning things around. Kingsbury still head scratching at times but Arizona won’t lose by more than field goal.
ARI +3.5
NE vs NYJ
No Breece Hall really hurts this Jets team. Michael Carter is a good player but not explosive. James Robinson still learning playbook and lacking burst. Jets defense should keep the Pats from putting up many points but Zach Wilson will have to make a play to win it and I don’t think he can/ will. Belichick just got embarrassed on national TV, I think he’d rather die than lose this game. Line has already moved a full point just today. Don’t care.
NE -2.5
CHI vs DAL
Dak is back but offense was a bit rusty. Zeke may be out. This should not be a very high scaring game. Both teams want to run the ball. Fields looked pretty good Monday night vs New England. Brisker is a stud in the secondary for the Bears. Micah Parsons could make life tough for Chicago but this is too many points.
CHI +9.5
CAR vs ATL
Falcons D just got torched by Burrow. The Panthers are NOT the Bengals. Carolina played inspired football last week after their coach was fired and their best player was traded. I think that continues and their defense will make some plays. I wouldn’t want to watch this game if it was the only game on. Do not bet this game.
CAR +4
LV vs NO
The Raiders are not as bad as their record and the Saints might be worse than theirs. Winston may be back but he’s still injured and when he’s healthy he’s still Jameis. New Orleans defense has not been good. Josh Jacobs is playing the best football of his career. Raiders win easy.
LV -1.5
TEN vs HOU
Titans are hard to figure out but they’ve strung together four straight wins. Houston is ready for the offseason already. They are competitive most weeks but Tennesse will be more physical and well coached. Dameon Pierce is about all the Texans have but the Titans have a solid defense that has held opponents to 17 or fewer points their last 3 games. Either this is a trap or the easiest bet of the week.
TEN -2
SEA vs NYG
When either of these teams are underdogs you take the points.
NYG +3
WAS vs IND
The Colts brass had seen enough of Matty Ice and now we get the Sam Ehlinger experience. Maybe it can’t get any worse? Or maybe it can. Either way Indy is a complete mess right now. Heinicke actually gives the Commanders some life, for some reason.
WAS +2.5
SF vs LAR
McVay had two weeks to figure out how to beat Shannahan, which is probably not long enough. But at home, coming off a bye, the Rams are the healthier team. Maybe this is the week he figures it out.
LAR +1.5
GB vs BUF
11 is a lot of points and the Packers are desperate. But then again Buffalo just keeps rolling. Green Bay’s slow, boring brand of football will fit the gameplan of keeping Josh Allen off field as much as possible- IF they can sustain drives. I don’t think they can. They’ll probably get blown out.
BUF -11
CIN vs CLE
Good pass rush from CLE won’t be as effective if Burrow stays in shotgun like he has been. Riding Chubb should help the time of possession battle. I suspect CLE will shade a safety toward Chase and try to keep this a lower scoring, physical divisional game. Not sure they can do it because the Bengals appear to have gotten their groove back. And as they showed last week they can also beat you with Boyd or Higgins. Still, divisional game on the road in Primetime, I’ll take the points.
CLE +3.5

NFL SMACKDOWN LEAGUE 🤼♂️🤼♀️
In keeping with the theme of week 2️⃣ with of course lean on tag teams. As opposed to going solo, you have to have complete trust in your teammate. It's just you and your roster. The perfect meld of strategy and result will hopefully being you gains worthwhile. Ring the bell and....
WEEK 2 SLEEPER RECAPS
1. Jermaine 🤜🤛Juan
Making it to the ring for Jermaine.....
youtube
Part of the "Bloodline" (BlkQban Style-Williams) these twin brothers rep "We The Ones". Day one-ish Jermaine has always brought an A game but to mix results. Making it 2 the ring for Juan...
youtube
The Lucha Bros. Since before joining AEW, the 2 have been paving themselves as tag team modern legend luchadors. Wild sh#t. They have a saying "Animo!" "Cero Miedo!" Meaning zero fear.
🔔
Juan came off the ropes with a clothesline cuz Micah Parsons is a beast wit it! 21 points early for IDP in the Thursday night affair. Jermaine came back with a flurry of offense with Tyreek going h.a.m. How the hell he got 190 yards if his fellow player got 170 - sheesh!
A hot contest back n forth but Jermaine came with the better move set (Kupp dropkicking 34 points on Juan). Juan tried some reversals with Evans and Devante but Jermaine reversed back with Montgomery Haymarkers (22 points).
Down but not out, Juan tried a desperate missed dropkick from the turnbuckle with Josh Allen (57 points). A near fall, but Jermaine had enough for a surprise roll up pin for the win
1️⃣2️⃣3️⃣✋
Juan had zero fear putting in Taysom due to the week before, but that netted him almost zero points against the Usoooooooos.
Your winner .... Jermaine (The Usos)
With the "Ones" Jermaine now is 1-1 back in the game in wildcard for now while Juan is 2nd to last.
Next matchup
2. Carla 🤜🤛 Johnny
Coming to the ring for Carla....
youtube
The IIconics *strikes pose*
These 2 aussies from down under 🇦🇺 were two true modern female tag teams in wwe (a rarity). Speaking of rare, very rare Carla doesn't do well in this Sleeper league. She is prominent throughout the season in the few years of existence for this league. Making it to the ring for Johnny....
youtube
Too Cool 😎...get it 2 cool *crickets*
Two guys with hardly any rhythm don in hiphop garb accompanied by Rikishi (Bloodline fam member of Dwayne the Rock Johnson). Lets see if the corny moves were enough to take down the iiconics in this rare intergender match.
🔔
Too cool being the gentleman they are offered the male shovanist stance of allowing them the first hit. Expecting one slap, Too Cool gotnit with a double dose of Higgins and Jamar Chase. Chase punch was sort of botched (9.4 fantasy points) but were definitely enough to stun Johnny. So much so, a swing and a miss by Johnny (Zeek 7.5 points) was so bad, there was a tumble out of the ring. To make matters worst, both iiconics did a suicide dive onto Too Cool outside the ring hitting the men into the fan barricades (Chubb & Mahomes over 60 points for Carla early game slate). Too Cool managed trip both iiconics and slide back in the ring to attempt a count out (Robinson 19 puts for Johnny). IIconics best the count (IDP 27 pts) but by the time they got in both guys put a Sleeper hold on them (Murray over 40 pts). Even with crowd support and hogan-esque rally, the hold was enough to earn a knockout call by the ref (Johnny Bills D 46 pts).
In the end Godert and Diggs was too much to overcome and Too Cool (Johnny won the match).
Carla at 1-1 still in wildcard position (6th) while Johnny jumped to the top. He is the bloodline after all (team name)
Of course the usual winning dance routine ensued for Too Cool
youtube
Next matchup
3. Laura 🤜🤛 Slick
Coming to the ring for Laura...
youtube
Sasha Banks & Naomi (Boss N Glow)
The commish repping by these two incredible talents. Controversy (or insider knowledge) aside, these two performers brought legitimacy back to the women's tag championship scene...for a short time...maybe the future 🤷♀️
Let's see if their pedigree and athleticism can be enough to conquer in the 2nd intergender match of the week. Now coming to the ring for Ricky...
youtube
Another group of hall of fame individual talents coming together toward a common goal. This one plus one equals 2 combo is as legitimate as they come. After coming in style, the match begins
🔔
A slow build of crowd cheering and applause The 2 teams lock up to tangle. First the ladies flip both men over for a headlock takedown (Kirk and McLaurin double digit points) but both men countered an arm wrench to the back and a side headlock of thier own (CEH & IDP for Slick). The 2 ladies tried to get out but were ineffective in doing so (Connor & Patterson single digit pts) and so both Eddie and Rey trip them up for a pinfall (Ekler 17 Hunt 10 pts each)1️⃣✋........2️⃣✋......both ladies kick out simultaneously (Rams Def 35 Herbert 43). Both former L.W.O. (Latino World Order) wrestlers did the 3 consecutive suplex maneuvers called the 3 amigos (Bateman Williams Andrews 30 pts each). It was enough to seal the victory for Ricky.
As the fellas celebrated the ladies got an stand up ovation for their efforts. The looked at the titantron on the ramp to see that Laura despite the loss still managed to stay above Slick in the standings in 3rd place.
Rickys tag team reps had to look on in the shocking revelation thier win got them into 4th and finally in a win column but not over the opponent in standings
Next matchup
4. Oliver 🤜🤛 Delmar
Coming to ring from Detroit repping TNA for Delmar...
youtube
As a Lions fan , it was appropriate that the Motor City Machine Guns ripped as his tag team. These two former X-Division (cruiserweight) champions Alex Shelly/Chris Saban formed a Impact Hall of Fame tag team. Known for high flying antics z they are a formidable team going against the other Hall Of Fame tag team from now defunct WCW. For team Oliver coming to the ring.....
youtube
Harlem Heat 🔥
Great to have representation in form of these two hall of farmers on tv. Before Booker T solo success, he and his brother Stevie Ray tore through the WCW tag team division.
Onto the match
🔔
Booker T tags in first to hit a few lariats (Lamb 13 pts) on both MCM members. His brother Stevie stomps his feet to rile up the crowd. When Booker T goes to tag his brother, both TNA guys hit him with a jump springboard forearm to The back of his head (Burrow 21 pts). This was enough to cut the ring half and keep the onslaught on Booker with repeated tags and stomps in the corner. Literally stomping the hell out of him (Sanders 12 pts Waddle 47 pts). Both guys took turns doing high energy offensive moves on Booker, but they got winded. This was enough of an opening for Booker to hit his spinning high kick (Harris 13pts) and scissor kick (Dionte 12 pts). The crowd roaring for a tag..the slow crawl...finally he tags to crowd eruption! Stevie picks up both men at the same time and slams them down (Fournette 12 pts Boston 21 pts). He flexes to the crowd to show his strength. Both Sabin and Chris slide out the ring to regroup. They recover a bit while they plan. They both slide in. One runs at Stevie as he reaches to grab but slides between his legs behind him. In that instant he turns he gets super kicked in the face (McPherson 13 pts) and stumbles. When he stumbles around he gets super kicked in the head by both men (Cooper 28 pts). They go for the pin but Booker jumps off the turnbuckle onto them to break the tag but they move last minute thus he hits his own brother by accident (swift 19 pts). Both Sabin and Shelly go to opposite sides of the ring and pose on the turnbuckle. They both do a 450 splash on Harlem Heat.
1️⃣✋...2️⃣✋....3️⃣✋
Harlem Heat extinguished by Broncos Defense (30 pts). You winners....motor city machine guns! At the end, they got the shot that doomed Oliver
Delmar had some clunkers but his key players more than made up for those blunders to overcome and win week 2. Delmar avoided last place with his win (8th) but Oliver is now winless in last place.
💥💥pyro💥💥
Time for the Main Event
Ring announcer: This is a triple threat match. Each tag team associated with tables, ladders, and chairs. No DQ rules.
This match is basically a car crash. Why 3 teams? Injuries and subpar performances. We all have been plagued by these factors in at least one way or another.
Representing Injuries/bad performance...
youtube
These 2 where Notorious for using chairs. Their double swing "conchairto" is a brain scrambler. HOF as single competitors and multiple tag team champions these injury bug partners look to impose the will on fantasy rosters.
5. Taurean🤜🤛Matt
Out next for Matt...
The Dudley Boyz
These ECW originals were beloved crossovers from that organic brand to WWE. No one kicked out there 3D move. And most notably, almost without fail, someone was going through a table.
Out next for Taurean...
Hardy Boyz
Team extreme always rose to the heights of success and literal height of ladders. Climbing to the top is what its all about. But the crash down can be spectacular in good or bad ways.
🔔
Injury duo Cristian and Edge come out swinging early with chairs in thier hands. Lots of swings and misses tho as the other teams of Taurean and Matt go outside the ring. The Hardy Boys set up a big ladder but are hit immediately by the dudleys (AJ Brown 10pts / Mixon 12.30). They suplex both Hardys on the outside (ertz 12pts / Barkley 14pts). That move keeps them down a bit then they slide back in. Cristian swings his chair again but Bubba ducks and catches him with a full Nelson bomb (IDP 17pts). Meanwhile the "bad performance" Edge spears Devon dudley (Dalvin only 6 pts). Bubba comes to help his brother and shoulder blocks edge to the outside of the ring (Browns Def 22 pts). He helps devon up and pushes him *rumble* yells DEVON....GET THE TABLES!
Devon complies much to the enjoyment of fans. Dudleys set up the table but behind them both hardys have been climbing the 20ft ladder on the outside. Both Hardys leap off the ladder into the ring right on top of both dudleys (CMC and Sutton over 25pts)*crowd yells Holy sh#t holy sh#t*. Getting Cristian up to prepare for a move not knowing he is holding a chair behind him and he takes out Matt hardy *hit to the head* (Schultz .2 points only). Injury keeps Matt hardy out as trainers tend to him for concussion. Jeff hardy going solo whips Cristian to the turnbuckle. Runs across the ring to splash on him (Patriots 31pts). As he celebrated dudleys got back up. When he turns around Jeff gets hit with a 3D into a table! (Hurts 54 points). That hurt.
1️⃣✋...2️⃣✋....3️⃣✋
Winners Matt and the Dudleys!
Matt remains undefeated in 2nd while Taurean drops to 7th but at least at .500 record.
Tag Team Fantasy PPV feed cuts because ...well its the end.

🍼 for h&m
send in 🍼 and i’ll create a child for our characters !!
name.
tyler geoffrey rossdale. bc both his parents are secretly saps.
likes / dislikes.
literally anything rough n tumble lbr ! the nut skwad kids ( sans evie ) and the terrible trio are always fukcn doing that shit, so i feel like it stuck ? also team sports !! he’s v. active. probs inherited his mother’s expensive taste, but tries to downplay it… until the latest games console comes out then he’s shamelessly hinting and trying 2 strike a deal, like “i’ll walk zeus every day for an entire year, mom, please !!!”
okay, the kid fuckn hates carrots ?? like it’s hard not 2 be biased when ur ’rents show every damn friend who comes over this masterpiece, so now he just dislikes them by association. also,, dont ask me WHY i think this, but i feel like ty hates disorganisation. his room might look like a goddamn minefield to an outsider, but everything is in its designated place; move one ( 1 ) item .5 inches and the bitch Knows the moment he steps in – it’s like a super power tbh ?? and probs a point of contention w/ his sibbins.
first word.
“mama” - making harlowe the winner of the mama vs dada wager. however, his second word was “fuck”, so [ micah vc ] GET REKT ! ;D
appearance.
pretty much always been tall for his age, i feel ?? i mean, both his parents are giants, so it makes sense. probs also a bit lanky til he grew into his height. was blonde as a kid, but lost that by the time he was 10 or so; harlowe is still mourning this loss. he got her blue eyes tho.
which parent they look more like.
probs more like harlowe as a toddler, but he rlly got them Rossdale Aesthetiques™ when he gets into his teens.
which parent they like more.
TOUGHIE ! i mean, micah lets him get away with ( and is complicit to ) SO MUCH dumb shit, so tyler probs likes that about him more; harlowe just gives them both the look n ty’s like … damn /: however, i feel like he’s a momma’s boy, for sure ?? like harlowe’s the one he’s gonna come to with emotional stuff or if he needs some advice, and ty would literally beat the shit out of anyone who even looked at her weird, so ?? Mom is #1, ig !
height once fully grown.
like 6′1-2″, same as micah tbh. maybe like a centimetre taller, just so his dad can feel salty but also proud abt it lmfao.
job ambition.
i feel like he wanted to be a magician at some point ? esp. if harlowe taught him some slight of hand skills. probs also a pro wrestler, which was obvs micah’s doing. rlly tho, i’m unsure what he’d wanna do when he gets close to graduating. i can’t see him wanting to do anything that involves being tied up in a classroom or pouring over books 24/7, but i’d like to think he has some of harlowe’s ambition n drive, so he’s not just drifting after high school ( like his dad lmfao ). oH WAIT NO ! SALES. like he probs wouldnt have thought of it on his own, but i think a gud teacher and some of the OG Skwad might've tipped him off that it’s a career path he should consider, bc he’s good at thinkin on his feet and winning people over ?? truly he’s got to have been the kid who roped the others into setting up a lemonade stand and then sweet talked the local moms into buying their watered-down lemon juice ( which evie is very /: about ) so yeah !! n like doing work experience with the volker sales team ?? wow,, a Concept !
faceclaim.
nick robinson - specifically w/ his long hair like,, deadass .. Dead of Asses,, i still cant get over how fitting tht Aesthetique is ??
#bvldwin#answered#fam: the rossdales#kiddo: tyler#otp: three words have never come easy#me: imma just fill this meme n chill#me: *proceeds 2 go ham*#ask maymays

Via Drew Longacre, National Geographic has an article on the cloak and dagger search for sacred tests. Jim Davila points to an article on reading obituaries in ancient Judah.
Hand from Tomb 2. Photo by Jeremy Smoak
While searching for a secured image of the hand in that article on obits, I accidentally discovered this November article in Chinese, 十個關於早期基督教出乎意料的事實 Ten unexpected facts about early Christianity copied from an article a few months earlier in English and showing how scholars are quoted in or out of context around the world by Facebook, Blogger, and Google+. It would seem that the English speaking world of Biblical Studies has limited contact with similar studies in other cultures. ulb Münster has several bibles online including the Complutensian Polyglot, Erasmus, Bengel, Wettstein, Griesbach, Tregelles, Westcott and Hort, Nestle, and others, all free to download. Africa Journal of Evangelical Theology is now online from 1982-2012 as noted here. Jean Lipman-Blumen has a reflection on toxic, the word of the year. A final note from Religion and Politics on Eugene Peterson and the Imperative of Biblical Literacy.
Next Carnivals
So hard a thing it is to please all,
Local storefront near Oak Bay junction, a study in culture
What comes after 153? Advent. Dale Brueggemann has an Advent series planned that might interest some of you. Post is here. Christopher Scott (@ChristopherLS) will be hosting the December 2018 carnival CLIV (due January 1, 2019). Please email (plong42 at gmail.com) or direct message on Twitter (@plong42) to volunteer for a 2019 carnival. Phil has thrown down the gauntlet. Hosting a carnival is a valuable task. You will be challenged to decide what to include from the several possible source streams that you follow on aggregators, flipboards, social media, blogs, and other news feeds. Just what is Biblical Studies? BS opens up questions that may be disturbing to an established position. Do you follow people that you may disagree with? You may allow some leeway since preachers and theologians of all confessional stripes say they 'study the Bible'. And you may watch secular blogs and newspapers, for some of them express reception history, whether assumed or critical, from the Bible. As the month progresses, a theme emerges, maybe flippant or serious, not always as expected. Take up the gauntlet. 1 From CRASSH on The Imaginative Landscapes of Islamist Politics. 2 Source of the right justified commentary, https://ift.tt/2U1q92J

Sundance 2019 Announces Competition, Premiere, Midnight Titles and More
Last year’s Sundance Film Festival launched movies like “Sorry to Bother You,” “Hereditary,” “Won’t You Be My Neighbor?” “Leave No Trace,” “Wildlife,” “On Her Shoulders,” “Eighth Grade,” “Mandy,” “Shirkers” and so much more. So it’s with great excitement we present the roster for the next batch of movies that have the festival’s approval, a type of sneak peek at what the film scene will be like in 2019.
It’s a massive list of 112 features, with more titles to be announced leading up to the fest. But at a glance, there are such enticing projects as “Late Night,” written by and starring Mindy Kaling (directed by Nisha Ganatra), a new film from “Swiss Army Man” co-director Daniel Scheinert (“The Death of Dick Long”), an art-house thriller from “Nightcrawler” writer/director Tony Gilroy starring Jake Gyllenhaal, Toni Collette and John Malkovich (“Velvet Buzzsaw”), the directorial debut of Chiwetel Ejiofor (“The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind”), the latest from “Gook” writer/director Justin Chon (“Ms. Purple”), the latest from “Land Ho!” director Martha Stephens (“To the Stars”) and a modern adaptation of Richard Wright’s “Native Son,” starring Ashton Sanders of “Moonlight” (directed by Rashid Johnson).
And those are just some of the narrative features; in the documentary category, there are films about Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez (“Knock Down the House”), Roy Cohn (“Where’s My Roy Cohn?”), Dr. Ruth (“Ask Dr. Ruth”), David Crosby (“David Crosby: Remember My Name”), Stieg Larsson (“Stieg Larsson: The Man Who Played with Fire,”, Anton Yelchin (“Love, Antosha”), Marianne Ihlen and Leonard Cohen (“Marianne & Leonard: Words of Love”, Miles Davis (“Miles Davis: Birth of Cool”), Harvey Weinstein (“Untouchable”), and the Satanic Temple (“Hail Satan”).

Geraldine Beshears, 88
Geraldine "Gerry" Clark Beshears, 88 entered Heaven's glory on April 30, 2018. Her faith became sight after a lifetime of loving and serving her Lord and those whom He placed in her life.
Gerry was born on May 24, 1929 in Hinton, WV to the late Albert Ross Clark and Emma Ruth Harvey Clark. She moved to Baltimore, MD, as an adult where she met and married Charles Beshears with whom she would live and faithfully love for fifty-eight years. Together, Gerry and charles served the Lord, built a home, reared three children, and spoiled their grandchildren.
Gerry and Charles relocated to Purlear, NC where their home was a gathering place for family celebrations for the next forty-five years. It was there that love for the Lord, family, and others was passed to future generations. Mamaw, as she was known to family, made everyone feel special with home cooked meals, delicious desserts, and the gentle spirit that was her hallmark. Her life epitomized the words from Proverbs 31: Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: "Many women have done excellently, but you surpass them all." Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a women who fears the Lord is to be praised. Give her of the fruit of her hands, and let her works praise her in the gates.
While in Purlear, Gerry was an active and humble servant in New Hope Baptist church. She served in many capacities, but is most beloved as a GA (Girls in Action) leader and Sunday school teacher - roles that she filled for more than forty years. Her selfless service and love were examples to all who kne3w her. Many have been blessed by her visits, phone calls, cards and letters, and rides to doctor appointments when they were going through difficult times.
Her own difficult times necessitates a move to Cross Rose Retirement community in Asheboro, NC, where both her own and Charles' health needs could be met. For the next five years, her life continued to shine the light of Christ on new friends. Her absence leaves an emptiness in the hears of those who cherished her; howver, the ones who share her faith in Christ know her will live with her in eternity.
Gerry is survived by her daughter Cheryl Benton and husband Mike of Morganton, daughter Cindy McManus and husband Harold of Archdale and daughter-in-law Gaynell Beshears of Purlear. Her beloved grandchildren are Emily Benton, Hannah Benton Penley and husband Ryan, Michael Benton, Benjamin McManus and wife Jenny, Joseph McManus, Jared and Jonathan Beshears. She is also surved by a brother, Ralph Clark and wife Jane of Hickory, a sister-in-law, Betty Beshears of Purlear, a niece, Kay Karminski and husband Lee of Woolford, MD and niece Janet Ahmad and husband Ahmad of Texas and many other well-loved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Charles, her son, Danny Beshears, her grandson, Aaron McManus, three brothers and two sisters.
