watching El Fantasma Del Convento (1934) since i was determined to see something good before sleeping today, and i spent way too long (about 2 hours) extracting hard-coded subs from a lower quality version to use for the unsubbed higher quality version (unfortunately free OCR stuff for thousands of images is hard to find or tedious to do but i did find something good enough to start watching) and it makes me laugh so much that the Convent/Monastery has a sign about not fucking, like it's those Egyptian tomb curses lmfao. "Cursed be he who turns to flesh and forgets God" like ajdjshdshshshsh. also, it's such a wonderful fucking vibe so far, and Cristina really surprised me sdnzbdbsbsbs. Alfonso please have some restraint.

Alucarda (1977 horror Mexican movie) best movie about satanic stuff and lgbt love between the characters of this movie
Fun Fact if you didn't know: Industrial music band My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult sample the clips of this movie in the song The Devil Does Drugs of 1988 and it's the Iconic song of them and was featured in Cool World of 1992 ( which this movie is the best and the soundtrack too period ) and the Mexican movie to speak in English language and the actresses speak in this language after this movie was released and inspired by the gothic terror theme and gothic and Fantastic and Vampiric and Lesbian literature including Dracula by Bram Stoker and Carmilla by Sheridan Le Fanu and Justine by Marques de Sade

Have you read...
Grieving mother Magos cuts out a piece of her deceased eleven-year-old son Santiago’s lung. Acting on fierce maternal instinct and the dubious logic of an old folktale, she nurtures the lung until it gains sentience, growing into the carnivorous little Monstrilio she keeps hidden within the walls of her family’s decaying Mexico City estate. Eventually, Monstrilio begins to resemble the Santiago he once was, but his innate impulses—though curbed by his biological and chosen family’s communal care—threaten to destroy this fragile second chance at life.

Cronos is a classic of offbeat horror and Mexican cinema altogether. Also: very underrated cosplay from Gris’ last outfit look.
