"Appetite" 2024
Ceramic, copper wire, fabric strap.
My ceramic work about the physical experience/weight of strap-ons with bowls as the vessel because functionally you could eat out of them :)

i'm hopefully gonna work on sharpening the blade soon!! im waiting to get the wood stain and gems, but i'll be working on the engravings before or after sharpening 🦀
also, the blade is made out of steel and the handle was a block of 2x4 plywood bc it was the only piece that was long enough in the wood scraps pile

I've been working on miniature lion jawbone pendants and holy wow the mold WORKS. I'll be pricing this first run according to quality but anything pulled from the mold in the future will be sparkling perfect. It's a hefty piece roughly 2"x1.5"x1". I was going to split them down the center so the jawbones would lay flat, but I think it's juuust within the height limit to keep them as they are and simply attach a chain to wear.

Sonoran green turquoise (mined about 20 years ago, when it was more blue like this). Set in a forged silver ring.

Belt buckle made for @iinfinitejester with a design reminiscent of the Chauvet cave horses. Made from patinated mild steel with welded hardware, etched copper, and stamped nickel silver, all held together with copper wire rivets.

Cicada
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Uh so I don't usually post my academic art, but I made a cicada out of wax and casted him in bronze. Here he is!! I used a black bronze patina for the detail to show up.

My hand for size reference. Made in honor of the 13 and 17 year cicadas coming in the summer.

Strawberry Quartz Leaf Ring (Size 6.5)
The stunning pink strawberry quartz cabochon is the centerpiece of this luxurious piece, rose cut to twinkle on your finger at your every movement! Two leaves accompany the cabochon, inviting warmth, like a fresh plucked berry in the summer!

Some old shopping channel videos that partially recorded over my cartoons as a kid, thought I'd upload them here for archival purposes (3/3)
LOOK LOOK- I CAN MAKE GOOD ART I SWEAR- LOOK!
Bill cuff! Bill cuff! Bill cuff! I wasn't originally gonna do Bill cuff for this project but I showed all my sketches to my classmates and everyone told me this was the best concept. So here we are. The cuff is entirely copper because copper is my friend :] <3. The layers were cut out using a jewelers saw and soldered together. It took way too many tries to fill all the lil holes that kept on being left behind, and there's a few that will never fully be filled, but it's fine. I sandblasted it to clean up the solder sweat and used my school's hydraulic press to form the piece. I treated it with liver of sulfur and then buffed the highest layer with a brass buffing wheel to get the gold coloration. Lastly I sealed the top of the design with renaissance wax. *jazz hands* I'm glad I was pushed to do this design because it slaps.
THANK YOU TO MY DAD WHO USED HIS C&C MACHINE TO CUT OUT THE BILL HAND SILHOUETTE I GAVE HIM. You can't even see the whole thing with the bar on the bottom in the way, but it turned out really well! He also spray painted and made the bottom it's slotted into.

Oh hey, here's a new finished object I forgot to share yet! I finished the latest round of metalsmithing class, and I think our teacher overestimated our instincts for delicate soldering work (most of us... struggled), the ring is DONE, it's on my hand, and I love it! I have to take a short break from classes for travel reasons, but I definitely plan to go back as soon as my schedule leaves me breathing room for it!
