Why did the Doctor decide to leave the Zero Cabinet? This sounds like the beginning of one of those why-did-the-chicken-cross-the-road jokes from 1980s joke…

We’ve spoken about the story before but any time I rewatch The Happiness Patrol, I ALWAYS forget about the Pipe People until they show up. “Oh yeah! Those guys.” Not sure why. I also loved how Gilbert and the Kandyman bickered like an old married couple. I suspect there was a lot of “Told you so.” and “SHUT UP GILBERT!” offscreen. I get those vibes a lot with character pairs like them. Or Mergrave & Shardovan. Or Dr Nefarious and Lawrence. Not sure why.

Yeah ik what you mean, I did too tbh but thinking about it they give Terra Alpha a real colonialist undertone, like they banished the native people of this society underground and made their gross fascistic state on top of it. That kind of pair is great too, I think my favourite is probably Napa and Vegeta in DBZ Abridged (I haven't seen enough of regular DBZ to say if they're like that in that but they definitely are in the abridged series).

Well the bit with Skidd is just one example, I'd be quite happy to see new queer characters too. And I'm glad I'm not the only one who got old married couple vibes from Cronk and Zephyr. I see that with a lot of characters, like Mergrave and Shardovan.

I’ve also got another silly R&C headcanon. Sometimes Lawrence will shut himself down or go into standby mode just to annoy Dr Nefarious. Those two give me old married couple vibes. Again, like I said with Mergrave and Shardovan.

Good for him XD, and yeah I can totally see it with them actually.

Silly point to make. We’ve spoken about Castrovalva before. For some reason Shardovan and Mergrave give me married old couple vibes. I suspect off screen their conversations had a lot of “I told you so” and “shut up Mergrave!”

Well good for them ig lol, given the state in which Adric's brain power created Castrovalva I'm not surprised it'd be super gay. I still find it so funny that no one told him Adric's 'pain noises' make him sound more into it than in pain xD
