Personal Impression: Blossom.
First of all ... IT'S A HAPPY ENDING!!!
Tumblr media
Hurray!!! After that damn ending from Fangs of Fortune, I can finally be happy again in watching Chinese drama.
Blossom was said as a "dark horse" and I fully agreed.
To be honest, I knew about this series from massive reviewers on Twitter. So, thank you for reviewing this series and caught my attention.
At first, I was very slowly watching, but after episode 5, I was hooked and binge watching the rest of the episodes. That episode 5 was so intense between Song Mo and Duo Zhao that wanting me to see more. Song Mo's double blade (and white hair) and Duo Zhao's intelligence were ... *chef kiss!*

The female and male lead are both strong and intelligent, yet there were times where they were vulnerable and needed help from each other. There's no misunderstanding between them, no love triangle, no suspicion, no wasted jealousy, no quarrel, it's just an healthy relationship! Even when Song Mo tried to hide that he was poisoned and only has a year to live,, it didn't take long for him to revealed it to Duo Zhao.
Tumblr media
What I also like was Song Mo kept his promises to have an equal position with Duo Zhao in their household. When Duo Zhao was found to be pregnant, Song Mo kind of casually saying, "Giving birth is dangerous, and I'm destined to die young. If you don't want to keep the child, just tell me." And I was like, "Damn!!! Song Mo, you're THE MAN!!!"

Some said, Blossom has the same vibes as Love Like The Galaxy. A strong general and a clever young lady. and how they treated each other. Yeah, it's kind of the same, but I'm more liking the first one, just because there's no angst. Hahaha.
I think the whole story was about appreciation and the worth to be a family. How do you treat your family? Will you hurt your family for the sake of power, wealth, even for (another) love?
The Emperor has mistreated the Empress and made her disappointed and wanting to be in power herself. Her son, Prince Qing, also feel disappointed with how his mother was being treated, so they made plan to rebel and it caused several incidents to happened.
Duo Shiying (Duo Zhao's father) has betray the trust from his wife and have a relationship with her best friend. It's reasonable that Duo Zhao was angry and feel disappointed with him.
Song Mo's father was in love with another woman but things happened and then he was granted a marriage with Song Mo's mother and kept the grudge strong enough to made him killed her.
It's also about being an independent and strong woman and an understanding man to his wife. A woman that strong enough to be on her own without the need or beg for a man's attention. An understanding man that he not only love but also cherish and honor his wife equally. That's why Blossom is so enjoy to watch, even with the annoying supporting character.
The story for each characters were also wrapped in a very good and satisfying way. The problems were neatly solved one by one, with the main one was saved for the last battle. That way, it doesn't made me confused to remember the story. It was indeed neatly written. I also adore the friendship between Duo Zhao and her best friends. I thought Ansu would be the one who betray her because of her love for Song Han. Well, she might if Song Han didn't killed her younger brother.
Song Han was struggling for his position after he was revealed as the illegitimate son. Actually he isn't a bad person, he's a good young brother to Song Mo (perhaps a bit over shadowed). But after his true identity was revealed, he was confused and just get along with his father's plan to killed Song Mo's mother. That was his big mistake. He probably killed Ansu's younger brother so she won't be bother with the way she was being treated. He may be in love with her, but he did it in a wrong way. That's his second mistake.
One thing that kind of made me laugh was the way Sung Mo seemed always to be around Duo Zhao. I was thinking he's like a stalker or an obsessive lover. Hahaha. It's so cute to see Sung Mo, the cold and cruel general, being so lovey-dovey with his wife (and HIS SMILE!!!).

I truly have to apologize to Jianming though, because I thought he has betray Duoo Zhao and become her enemy and made me curses whenever he comes out. Hahaha.
Blossom is indeed worth it to watch. Go watch it!
