Carlos Sainz x Sportweek interview -Translated in: English, Spanish and Italian-
Hi guys, sorry it took so long. I wasn’t expecting such a long work. I apologise if I have wrote something wrong, I have smoke coming out of my ears and here you can also find my F1 Masterlist for more! Enjoy and let me know what do you think!
xoxo
English 🇬🇧
There will be no room for him in Ferrari next year.
But the Spaniard doesn't argue, he wins when he can and in the meantime he looks ahead. «It's my style, that's how they educated me. The Cavallino showed me what passion is and I helped it grow. Leaving is not my choice, but maybe there will be better things to come."

He was born in Madrid and will join Ferrari from 2021
The Spanish Ferrari driver, Carlos Sainz, 29 years old. He has been racing with the Red team since 2021 and has won three GPs in Formula 1, the last of which was a month ago in Australia.
"I smile at the future
And I want to be the best."
A man's style, because at almost thirty you are a finished man, is measured in moments of adversity. Carlos Sainz comes from an elegant Madrid family, he can boast a father who not only wrote a few pages of motoring history in rallies, but in his adventure in F.1 he never found a downhill road ahead of him. Less than three months ago Ferrari let him know that there will no longer be a place for him in 2025. He could react badly, fall into victimhood, lose himself, exaggerate to impress everyone. He did the exact opposite. Starting from the words spoken then, in February. «Hamilton in Maranello was a hard blow, I didn't expect it. I was pretty sure that I would renew the contract with the Rossa. But it will be my last year with the team and I just want to think about doing my best for the Cavallino." Honest, sincere. With style, indeed. «Style is not something you choose - he says -, it is something that largely derives from the education your family gives you, from the values you have cultivated. And that then translates into how you behave and how you do things. But I can't say I have my own particular or studied style. I just try to be natural."
What a start!
Excellent start to the season for the Spaniard in 2024, with the victory in Melbourne and two third places in Bahrain and Japan.
At the moment you are going faster than your teammate Charles Leclerc, and this has also given rise to some doubts and regrets among the Red fans. Do you think you still have room for growth as a driver?
«For me, all the years in F.1 can offer the opportunity to progress. With each season that passes I feel like a better rider and it's also clear that over time you have experiences that make you grow as a rider and as a person, let's say that I continually make progress on both fronts."
For next year you are in the sights of several top teams, starting with Mercedes. But there was also talk of Red Bull. Does this interest make you feel good, after a difficult and delicate season's eve?
"Yes I'd like that. In reality, I am already part of a top team like Ferrari, and doing well here as I am actually doing makes the others keep an eye on you. In the end it's what I've always wanted as a driver, that is, to be considered a good name to occupy the best seats in F.1. And frankly I hope it goes like this for many years to come."
Identikit Carlos Sainz
Family tradition, he races in F.1 since 2015
Carlos Sainz Vázquez de Castro was born in Madrid (Spa) on September 1st 1994. Son of the two-time rally world champion Carlos Sr, he grew up in karting before moving on to Formula BMW, then Renault and GP3. His debut in Formula 1 was in 2015, in Australia, with Toro Rosso, where he remained until October 2017, when he moved to Renault. The 2019-2020 two-year period was at McLaren, where he achieved the first two podiums of his career: third in Brazil in the first season and second in Monza in the following one.
Since 2021 he has been at Ferrari. In red he scored his first pole and his first victory at Silverstone in 2022. The other two successes came in Singapore last year and in Australia a month ago. For him, overall 21 podiums in 187 Grands Prix.
«For 2025, seeing how I'm going, I would like a competitive single-seater. I'm happy to be in the crosshairs of several top team"
Finding an agreement with a new team could take a long time: is it a thought? Can it affect your performance in any way?
«All options are open, but it takes time to reach similar decisions. Little has happened in recent weeks, from this point of view, but this doesn't affect the way I race, my work on the track. Choosing takes time for everyone. They often ask me whether it is better to think about next year or the long term when deciding. I think it depends on what they offer you. As a driver you always look at the option that the fastest single-seater presents to you, because you think that in that way you can achieve podiums and victories like I'm doing this year. But the possibilities in the medium term are also interesting, considering the change in regulations in 2026. Each side of the coin has pluses and minuses, but the best thing is that today all options remain open."
You don’t seem worried
"No. I smile thinking about the future even if what will happen does not depend solely on me. I just have to wait for it and do my job well. If it takes time, that's fine. Also because, in light of the regulatory change in 2026, it is almost impossible to know who will go fastest. And so the decisions also depend on what the teams "sell" you, but no one has a real idea. For 2025, given how I'm going, I would like a competitive single-seater... in any case the situation doesn't disturb me: I know how to keep the track and the questions from journalists and fans about the future divided. When you run, run. I've been in F.1 for 10 years, I know how to manage my weekends."
How much has competing for Ferrari changed you, on a human level?
«He introduced me to the passion that people can have for a team, and you only see this if you race with the Cavallino and are surrounded by the Red fans. You don't feel a warmth like this in other teams. Humanly I was involved and this affects you, it has an influence on you. I heard it."
Hamilton and Leclerc are great fashion lovers. Do you like it also?
«Fashion is not something that occupies my mind in my free time, it depends a bit on how I feel day by day or on the phase I go through in my life. With the change in age I adapt in the way I dress, but it doesn't come naturally to me to think and research what I wear. I understand those who make it a passion, but it doesn't change my life."
What style do you follow in dressing? Do you buy what you wear or do you have someone who makes it for you? And when you were a boy did you choose on your own or did your mother take care of it? Have you ever argued about how you dressed?
«I almost never buy. When it happens it's because I go with my girlfriend (Rebecca Donaldson, Scottish model; ed.), my sisters (she has two, Ana and Blanca; ed.) or my mother. It has never happened to me that I am somewhere, in a hotel or at home, ® telling myself: "Now I'm going shopping". The idea never comes to me. It always has to come from someone else and this already shows that it is not my priority. Then I get dressed too, of course. And the style I like to follow is classic, elegant and traditional.
I feel comfortable and at ease. Until I was 20-25, all my clothes were bought by my mother, sisters or girlfriends of the time. And I never argued about it because I accepted everything they said, I didn't have an opinion...".
You are very close to his father, whom you have always admired but without avoiding some clashes: what relationship do you have now and how much does it matter for your career?
«When we are young, we all have moments of disagreement with our parents. It is part of the normal dynamic between father and son and there is an age in which you continually express a different opinion regardless, for bias, there is a period of your life when it seems like you do it on purpose. That age has now passed, but I remember that I liked arguing with him, even clashing, but with education and respect.
There was never a really bad moment when we called each other bad words. Dad always raised me to respect everyone. Now we have an incredible, very beautiful relationship. He taught me everything I know in life, in the end I feel privileged to be able to enjoy such a strong bond with him and to be able to have such an important person in my life close to me."
Who inspired you while growing up? Both in the sporting world and outside of sport.
«My father always used it as a reference
Rafa Nadal. And I really like it too, for the competitive spirit and the respect with which he does things. With clarity and a shape that says everything about him. In turn, I want to be the best on the track but also off it." What do you like to do away from the circuits?
«I am a very sporty person, my hobbies are mainly linked to that. I have always practiced golf, padel, skiing, now a lot of cycling, for training but also because I enjoy it. And in my free time I follow a lot of sports on TV."
«Nadal has always been my father's legend and he has become mine»
Hobby? Only sport: golf, skiing, padel and lots of cycling, for training and because I enjoy it"
Madrid, your city, is full of beautiful museums. Do you go there every now and then? Do you like art?
«I'm honest: no, I'm not going. I made all the visits when I was 13,014 years old with school and practically my attendance at museums ended there. But if someone sits down to explain it to me, even better: art interests me. But going alone to watch an exhibition, I don't do that. And it's curious because if someone talks to me about a work of art, why it's made that way, about its history, I like it and I enjoy it."
And in Ferrari from 2021, leaving at the end of the year will not be easy.
«I have mixed feelings. The three seasons spent in Maranello, of hard work, living there, with time spent in the factory, helped the team progress. Now we are starting to see the growth of the project, the single-seater is better and I have confidence in driving it after it has "implemented" all the indications given in the past. It makes me feel happy for this year and at the same time sad that we won't continue the journey together. Somehow we have recently taken the right path for the future, and it shows on the track. But it's life, it's the way life decided it should go. It wasn't my decision, but maybe there will be better things to come. When I look at the past, at the choices I made by leaving Toro Rosso, Renault, McLaren, I see that everything makes sense. Maybe in a little while I'll look back and figure out whether to leave paid".
There are still 20 GPs to go: what do you dream will happen for you and for Ferrari between now and the end of the season?
“More victories, more podiums and see where it takes us.”
Italiano 🇮🇹

A partire dalle parole pronunciate allora, a febbraio.
Identikit: Carlos Sainz
Figlio d'arte, corre in F.1 dal 2015
Carlos Sainz Vázquez de Castro è nato a Madrid (Spa) l'1 settembre 1994.
Quarto in classifica
«No.
A lei piace?
Mi sento comodo e a mio agio.

No parece preocupado
"No.
Me siento cómodo y a gusto.
«Te soy sincera: no, no voy.

Chauffeur: What Does It Mean?
Professional drivers and opulent vehicles have come to represent comfort, convenience, and prestige in today's fast-paced society. But a lot of people are curious about what the term "chauffeur" actually means. If you have ever wondered what the chauffeur means, this article will provide you a thorough and understandable explanation.
We'll break it down for you whether you're planning a luxurious journey in Melbourne or you're just interested in the term's history. Let's get started!
The Chauffeur Meaning
A professional driver employed to transport passengers in a luxury vehicle is referred to as a "chauffeur." In contrast to ordinary drivers, chauffeurs are educated to provide exceptional service, guaranteeing passengers a relaxing and elegant journey.
Although many people think of chauffeurs in relation to limos and high-end vehicles, their responsibilities go beyond just driving. According to its conventional definition, a chauffeur is someone who combines outstanding driving abilities with outstanding professionalism, manners, and customer service.
In simpler terms, the chauffeur meaning can be defined as:
“A person employed to drive and care for a passenger vehicle, usually for private individuals or professional services.”
The Origin of the Word “Chauffeur”
It's interesting to note that the word "chauffeur" is derived from the French word chauffer, meaning to heat. Early 20th-century automobiles were propelled by steam engines that needed to be stoked in order to run. A "chauffeur" was the person in charge of repairing and warming the engine.
The function of the "chauffeur" changed throughout time as cars advanced and luxury vehicle services gained popularity, evolving into what it is today: a polite, professional driver employed to provide first-rate transportation experiences.
So, when someone asks about the chauffeur meaning, it’s rooted in history but reflects modern professionalism.
What Does a Chauffeur Do? Roles and Responsibilities
Now that you understand the chauffeur meaning, let’s explore what sets chauffeurs apart from regular drivers.
Professional Driving ServicesA chauffeur doesn’t just drive; they deliver a seamless, safe, and enjoyable journey for their clients.
Customer ExperienceChauffeurs focus on providing excellent service. This includes opening doors, handling luggage, and ensuring their clients feel special.
Vehicle Care and MaintenanceA chauffeur is often responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and condition of the vehicle to meet professional standards.
Punctuality and ReliabilityWhether you’re headed to a business meeting or require airport transfers in Melbourne, chauffeurs prioritize timeliness and comfort.
Why Hire Chauffeur Services in Melbourne?
Melbourne is one of Australia’s busiest cities, known for its vibrant lifestyle, cultural events, and business hubs. Hiring professional chauffeur services in Melbourne comes with several advantages:
Stress-Free TravelNavigating Melbourne’s traffic can be overwhelming. A chauffeur takes that stress away, allowing you to relax or focus on work.
Luxury ExperienceChauffeurs provide a premium experience with luxury vehicles, ideal for weddings, corporate events, or airport transfers in Melbourne.
ProfessionalismWith chauffeurs, you receive a high level of professionalism, which reflects positively on you, especially during business engagements.
Local KnowledgeMelbourne chauffeurs have excellent knowledge of local routes, landmarks, and shortcuts to ensure smooth and efficient travel.
By understanding the chauffeur meaning, it’s clear they offer far more than just a ride—they provide an unparalleled travel experience.
What’s the Difference Between a Chauffeur and a Driver?
While the terms “driver” and “chauffeur” are often used interchangeably, they are not the same.
Driver: A general term for someone operating a vehicle, whether privately or professionally.
Chauffeur: A professional driver providing high-quality service, typically in luxury vehicles.
For example, if you hire a ride for an important Melbourne event, you’re not just looking for a driver; you want chauffeur services in Melbourne that combine skill, professionalism, and comfort.
Where Can You Experience Chauffeur Services in Melbourne?
Melbourne is a bustling hub, and chauffeur services in Melbourne are highly sought after for:
Corporate Travel
Weddings and Special Occasions
Airport Transfers in Melbourne
City tours and luxury transportation
Whether it’s a business trip or a special celebration, chauffeur services offer the perfect blend of luxury, style, and efficiency.
Conclusion: Chauffeur Meaning in Today’s World
In conclusion, the definition of a chauffeur has changed over time, moving from someone who maintained steam engines to the pinnacle of luxury and expertise in contemporary transportation. A chauffeur provides passengers with outstanding service, comfort, and attention, going above and beyond the call of duty as a driver.
For anyone living in Melbourne or planning a visit, hiring chauffeur services in Melbourne ensures that you travel stress-free and in style. Whether for business, leisure, or airport transfers in Melbourne, a chauffeur provides a premium transportation experience like no other.

Australia's social media ban for kids is closer to becoming law
Australia’s House of Representatives passed a bill on Wednesday banning children younger than 16 years old from using social media, leaving it to the Senate to finalize the world-first law.
The major parties backed the bill that would make platforms including TikTok, Facebook, Snapchat, Reddit, X and Instagram liable for fines of up to 50 million Australian dollars ($33 million) for systemic failures to prevent young children from holding accounts.
The legislation passed 102 to 13. If the bill becomes law this week, the platforms would have one year to work out how to implement the age restrictions before the penalties are enforced.
Opposition lawmaker Dan Tehan told Parliament the government had agreed to accept amendments in the Senate that would bolster privacy protections. Platforms would not be allowed to compel users to provide government-issued identity documents including passports or driver’s licenses, nor could they demand digital identification through a government system.
“Will it be perfect? No. But is any law perfect? No, it’s not. But if it helps, even if it helps in just the smallest of ways, it will make a huge difference to people’s lives,” Tehan told Parliament.
The bill was introduced to the Senate late Wednesday but it adjourned for the day hours later without putting it to a vote. The legislation will likely be passed on Thursday, the Parliament's final session for the year and potentially the last before elections, which are due within months.
The major parties’ support all but guarantees the legislation will pass in the Senate, where no party holds a majority of seats.
Lawmakers who were not aligned with either the government or the opposition were most critical of the legislation during debate on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Criticisms include that the legislation had been rushed through Parliament without adequate scrutiny, would not work, would create privacy risks for users of all ages and would take away parents’ authority to decide what’s best for their children.
Critics also argue the ban would isolate children, deprive them of positive aspects of social media, drive children to the dark web, make children too young for social media reluctant to report harms encountered, and take away incentives for platforms to make online spaces safer.
Independent lawmaker Zoe Daniel said the legislation would “make zero difference to the harms that are inherent to social media.”
“The true object of this legislation is not to make social media safe by design, but to make parents and voters feel like the government is doing something about it,” Daniel told Parliament.
“There is a reason why the government parades this legislation as world-leading, that’s because no other country wants to do it,” she added.
The platforms had asked for the vote to be delayed until at least June next year, when a government-commissioned evaluation of age assurance technologies would make its report on how the ban could be enforced.
Melbourne resident Wayne Holdsworth, whose 17-year-old son Mac took his own life last year after falling victim to an online sextortion scam, described the bill as “absolutely essential for the safety of our children.”
“It’s not the only thing that we need to do to protect them because education is the key, but to provide some immediate support for our children and parents to be able to manage this, it’s a great step,” the 65-year-old online safety campaigner told The Associated Press on Tuesday.
“And in my opinion, it’s the greatest time in our country’s history,” he added, referring to the pending legal reform.

Why Every Victorian Driver Needs a Dashcam: Key Insights
Dashcams have evolved from optional gadgets to essential tools for drivers worldwide, especially in Victoria. Whether navigating busy Melbourne streets, rural roads, or winding coastal highways, a dashcam offers invaluable advantages for Victorian drivers. This compact device has many benefits, from capturing incidents to improving driving habits. Here's why every driver in Victoria should consider investing in a dashcam.
1. Reliable Evidence in Case of Accidents
Accidents are unfortunate but common on the road. When they occur, reliable evidence can be crucial for insurance claims and legal matters. A dashcam captures events in real-time, providing an unbiased record of what happened.
Resolving Disputes: In the event of an accident, both parties may have different accounts of what occurred. Dashcam footage removes ambiguity and offers a factual perspective.
Speeding up Insurance Claims: Insurance claims often involve lengthy investigations. Clear video evidence from a dashcam can speed up the process, enabling a quicker resolution.
Assisting Law Enforcement: If an accident results in legal action, dashcam footage can be used as evidence in court, providing critical insights into the sequence of events.
2. Protection Against Insurance Fraud
Insurance fraud remains a concern in Victoria, although it is less frequent than in some other regions. Dashcams can help protect drivers from fraudulent insurance claims, where someone might intentionally cause an accident to file a false claim.
Preventing "Crash for Cash" Schemes: Fraudsters might stage accidents to claim compensation, sometimes even targeting unsuspecting drivers. Dashcam footage can immediately disprove such fraudulent activities.
Peace of Mind: With a dashcam, drivers can be more confident that any attempt at insurance fraud will be caught on camera, saving them from unfair financial and legal consequences.
3. Enhanced Security for Parked Vehicles
Modern dashcams often include features like parking mode and motion detection, which can be incredibly useful for protecting your vehicle even when parked. This is particularly valuable in urban areas or neighbourhoods with a higher risk of vandalism or theft.
Recording Suspicious Activity: Motion-detecting dashcams can capture the individual's actions if someone approaches your vehicle with ill intent.
Preventing Vandalism and Theft: Visible dashcams can deter would-be vandals or thieves. Knowing they're being recorded may deter them from acting.
Monitoring Hit-and-Runs: Parking accidents happen frequently, and not all drivers take responsibility for their actions. A dashcam with parking mode can capture hit-and-run incidents, recording the other vehicle's license plate and details.
4. Improved Driving Awareness and Accountability
Dashcams are not just for capturing external events; they can also encourage better driving habits. Reviewing dashcam footage can make drivers more aware of their actions on the road, helping them improve over time.
Self-Monitoring: Reviewing dashcam footage can reveal driving habits you may not have noticed, such as frequent lane changes, hard braking, or tailgating, allowing you to adjust accordingly.
Increased Accountability: When people know their actions are being recorded, they're more likely to drive cautiously. This is particularly useful for young or novice drivers, as dashcams can encourage safe driving habits.
Assisting with Driving Education: Dashcams can be valuable tools for instructors and learners, providing real-life examples of road scenarios and feedback on driving performance.
5. Capturing Unusual or Memorable Events
Sometimes, unexpected moments occur on the road—strange weather phenomena, beautiful scenery, or rare wildlife sightings. A dashcam can preserve these unique experiences, offering memories beyond safety and security.
Recording Scenic Drives: Victoria is known for its breathtaking landscapes, from the Great Ocean Road to the Dandenong Ranges. A dashcam allows you to capture these moments without distraction.
Unusual Encounters: From close calls with wildlife to surprising road encounters, a dashcam records these events in real time, turning what might have been a fleeting moment into a lasting memory.
6. Legal Protection in Road Rage Incidents
Road rage incidents can be alarming and sometimes dangerous. A dashcam provides an additional layer of security by recording any aggressive behaviour from other drivers, which can be used as evidence if the situation escalates.
Documenting Aggressive Driving: If another driver tailgates, cuts you off, or displays other forms of aggression, a dashcam can capture these actions. This evidence may be valuable if you report the incident to the authorities.
Protecting Against False Accusations: Proving who initiated a road rage confrontation may be challenging. A dashcam provides an objective record, helping to clarify misunderstandings.
7. Adapting to Victoria's Unique Driving Conditions
Victoria's weather and road conditions vary widely, from foggy mornings to narrow mountain roads. Dashcams are valuable in capturing these varying conditions, which affect driving safety.
Recording in Low Visibility: In areas prone to fog, rain, or mist, dashcams with night vision or low-light capability can clearly capture the road and surroundings.
Monitoring Rural Roads: For drivers in rural Victoria, where animals or unexpected hazards are common, dashcams can document sudden occurrences like kangaroos crossing or unmarked road obstacles.
Supporting Accident Investigations: If you are involved in an accident due to weather conditions or road debris, dashcam footage can verify the circumstances, supporting a more thorough investigation.
8. Affordable Peace of Mind
Dashcams are now available at various prices, with models offering basic features to high-end options with advanced capabilities. For many drivers, the peace of mind and protection that dashcams offer are worth the investment.
Value for Money: Even budget-friendly dashcams can offer reliable recording, making them accessible for most drivers without sacrificing quality.
Long-Term Savings: A dashcam can potentially reduce insurance premiums, protect against fraud, and prevent legal disputes, saving you money over time.
9. Protecting Young and Elderly Drivers
Young and elderly drivers often face unique challenges on the road, and dashcams can offer them an additional layer of security.
Providing Parental Oversight: Parents can monitor their teenagers' driving habits with a dashcam, helping guide them toward safer driving practices.
Supporting Elderly Drivers: Elderly drivers who may struggle with reaction times can benefit from having incidents recorded, which can give them more confidence on the road.
10. Contributing to Safer Roads in Victoria
Dashcams protect individual drivers and contribute to overall road safety by encouraging responsible driving.
Deterring Reckless Driving: Knowing that dashcams are prevalent can discourage reckless drivers, contributing to a safer driving environment.
Assisting in Hit-and-Run Cases: Authorities often use dashcam footage to solve hit-and-run cases, enabling justice and promoting road safety.
Final Thoughts
For Victorian drivers, dashcams offer extensive benefits beyond merely capturing video. The advantages are clear from the evidence in accidents, such as deterring fraud and enhancing personal safety. Dashcams provide protection, security, and accountability for city and rural drivers, making them a worthwhile investment. With so many models and features available today, Victorian drivers can find a dashcam that suits their needs, ensuring safer and more informed driving for everyone on the road.
