Eileen Spurlock (She/Her) - Widowed

A career-minded woman, Eileen found herself with an unexpected and unwanted "situation" after a drunken closet romp with a co-worker at a holiday office party. She missed out on a promotion while on family leave and has held a grudge against Bo ever since. She was unable, and frankly unwilling, to bond with the boy which resulted in him acting out in order to get any sort of attention from her. She kicked him out of the house shortly after he became a teen.

Not long afterwards she remarried and had Meghan. Bo only met his sister once; his dislike of children comes from the realization that he was replaced with her.

Meghan Spurlock (She/Her) - Single

Aspiration: City Native

Traits: Romantic, Overachiever, Foodie, Snob

Career: Food Critic

Meghan only met Bo once whenever she was little and doesn't remember much about the encounter. She's a recent high school graduate who's naive, spoiled, and a bit stuck up... but she's not really a bad person. If she ever finds out who "that sim" was, then a lot of her opinion about her mom might change...

She doesn't talk to her uncle, mostly due to her mom insisting he's a useless bum.

Dennis Spurlock (He/Him) - Single

Aspiration: Musical Genius

Traits: Good, Slob, Creative, Noncommittal, Music Lover, Clumsy

Career: "Freelance" aka Busking, sometimes selling song rights

While Eileen's sights were set firmly on soaring to the top in a business career so she could line her pockets, Dennis simply wanted to become a musician. He dropped out of high school and moved to Del Sol Valley with stars in his eyes, but quickly found that life there was harder than anticipated. It got even harder whenever he found himself supporting both himself and the young Bo.

Dennis had never had issues bonding with the boy despite his difficult nature. Their shared love of jokes, mischief, and pranks helped them through the tough times and made it easy to make up after any spats. It broke his heart whenever Bo took up stealing, but he understood why he did it.

Dennis has long wanted to tell Meghan about Bo, but Eileen won't let him be around her enough to let that happen.

Thousands run before Thanksgiving dinner

HIGHLANDS RANCH, Colo. — Before carving the turkey, a lot of people got some cardio in with various Thanksgiving Day races and turkey trots around the Denver Metro area. 

Around Colorado, there were a handful of races, attracting thousands of people. Perhaps the biggest was the Mile High United Way 5k at Washington Park in Denver. Some 20,000 people were expected to attend that particular race.

Another 3,000 people participated in the Highlands Ranch Turkey Day 5k. Many have made the race a yearly tradition.

“We basically had a family tradition for four or five years and we been running every year,” said Megan Birckhead.

Her friend, Amy Foreman, said it's good to workout before eating a lot of food. 

Each year, the Chamber of Northwest Douglas County chooses a different charity for the race to benefit. This year, the proceeds are going to the Douglas County Fallen Officers Fund.

“Certainly this year, with Zack Parrish passing on New Year’s last year and the community involvement around that, it seemed like the perfect charity to work with,” said Chairman-elect Stewart Gallagher.

After the race, participants were treated to pancakes that were cooked by members of the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office and other volunteers.

While some walked the turkey trot, others picked it up a notch and ran the race. 

“Zack lived his life to serve others and I thought for me and my family the least we could do would be to serve others,” said Sharron Smith. “Zack would be out there running too and so I would run and run with my brothers and sisters from the office in so that’s why I got out of bed this morning.”

Sheriff Tony Spurlock was also among the 3,000 participants in the race.

It’s FIFA World Cup Final Week!

A few weeks ago, we thought it would be pretty nifty to play a game of animated ‘Keepy Uppy’. A game that’s inclusive to all creative animators.

Each artist was given a few seconds to pass the ball onto the next artist. The brief was wide open to interpretation by the artist; whatever keeps the ball up - the ball itself and the environment was all up for grabs. The only stipulation was the ball entered left, and exited right.

Individual entries are posted on instagram.com/keepy_uppy when received. The entries were then edited together to create a film, representing diverse styles and perspectives from around the world. Although the film is released now, Keepy Uppy still accepts submissions.

Pony bé nhỏ - Phim hoạt hình đáng yêu nhất 2017

Bộ phim "My Little Pony: The Movie" cực kỳ dễ thương (font vắt trái tim vào mỗi "O" và "P", và nhện có đôi mắt màu hồng hào) là một bộ phim ít hơn một "tập đặc biệt" của bộ phim TV hit "My Little Pony: Tình bạn là ma thuật", một bộ phim hoạt hình nhỏ bé đã trải qua bảy mùa khẳng định rằng tất cả mọi người cũng cần một cái ôm (kẻ độc ác). Eileen Spurlock: Ugh, I can't believe I'm watching this nonsense.

Eileen: I have half a mind to chew that useless brother of mine out.

Eileen thinks back to when Dennis told her about Bo being on some sort of bachelor challenge. She informed him that she was uninterested in watching "that trash" - both the show itself and the sim.

"One of these days something is going to happen to that boy, and all of your money and things won't be able to save you from the regret you'll feel."

Begrudgingly, she agreed to watch at least one episode. Maybe Bo wouldn't disappoint her this time.

Meghan Spurlock: Mom, what in the plumb are you watching?

Eileen: Watch your language young lady; I'm watching this mess to appease your Uncle Dennis.

Meghan: Fine, I guess I'll watch it with you.

Meghan: ...wait...

Meghan: Mom, that man that just died... he looks familiar...

Eileen: Oh sweetie, don't be silly. That sim is no one important.

Meghan leaves the room.

Eileen: He's no one important.

He remembered Bo mentioning her, so he decided to pay her a visit and see if he could fix the situation by befriending her.

I'm not sure if you can see the faint little hearts, but both Meghan AND Eileen hit on Darrel autonomously. Darrel's probably texting Emilia like, "You would NOT believe this..."

It had been a few weeks since Bo's untimely death, and Dennis was desperate for news about the boy. The internet was rife with rumors... Leo was in league with vampires (why else would Vlad be allowed on the island??), a known Wildfang was in the area (would someone be bitten and made into a werewolf next??), and two members of a rather prominent spell caster family were seen as well (were they controlling the weather??).

Eileen hadn't returned his calls or texts either - not that this surprised him. Still, it disappointed him to think that his sister genuinely didn't care about her own son. He had always wished he could have done more for the boy; he deserved more kindness than what the world had shown him.

He didn't blame Bo for moving out whenever he did. The rundown motel was hardly up to code; the boy had begged him to move out as well, but he didn't want to be a burden.

Dennis wasn't feeling any better being out in the miserable pool, so he went inside to start dinner. His phone rang shortly after he sat down to watch TV.

Dennis: Bo?? You're alive??? How? Sulani, but that's expensive! Are you sure? Ok, I'll get the tickets and be there as quickly as possible!

Dennis checked his phone and saw that the funds were there as promised. He quickly bought the loading screen tickets for a flight out in the morning.

There was one thing he felt he should do before he left, and that was to try to reach out to Eileen...

The maid recognized Dennis and let him in. After waiting upstairs a bit on Eileen, Meghan came in and started talking. They hadn't been terribly close, mostly due to her mother's refusal to let them spend a lot of time together. The girl was sweet though, and Dennis was glad for the opportunity to catch up.

Dennis: Um, so where is Eileen anyway?

Meghan Spurlock: Mom's not going to be home for a while, what's going on?

Dennis: I'm taking a loading screen to Sulani in the morning. Bo's alive!

Meghan: Sulani? Bo? Wait... is Bo that man who died on that show? He looks so familiar, but mom said he was no one important.

Dennis: Yes, he is, but he's more than just some man, and he's certainly important to me. He's your big brother.

Dennis explained how he had been looking after Bo after Eileen kicked him out of the house as a teenager. He had brought the boy to meet Meghan whenever she was still very young, but seeing Eileen care for her more than she ever did him ended up hurting him.

Meghan was in shock. She had vague memories of a sad teenage boy that looked like the man she saw on TV, but she had assumed they were remnants of a dream rather than something that actually occurred.

Meghan: Why would Mom not tell me about him? Do we have the same dad? There's so much more I want to know!

Dennis: I wish I had time to tell you more, but I need to get ready to head to Sulani. I recommend that you talk to your mom, but I'll also call you once I'm settled in case you don't get answers from her.

Later, Dennis called Meghan to check in on her. He was thrilled to find out that she was catching a loading screen to come visit and meet Bo, but was sad to hear that the conversation with Eileen didn't go well. He considered telling Bo that she would be arriving, but he also wanted it to be a surprise.

Dennis: I'm so glad you could make it!!

Meghan Spurlock: There's no way I wouldn't have after what you told me! I'm nervous though.

Dennis: Don't be. You might be different, but I'm confident you'll get along.

Dennis called Bo outside and made the introductions. Once he got them talking, he went inside to let them have time together.

The two shared jokes, stories, and pictures. Bo told Meghan both about his adventures on the show and his life with their Uncle Dennis.

Meghan: I know that it probably isn't easy to talk about, but what was your life like with Mom before she kicked you out? She wouldn't tell me any specifics other than to go on and on about her career.

Bo: Oh trust me, I got earfuls about her precious career whenever she bothered to pay me any attention.

Bo proceeded to recount how she did the bare minimum at best and took out all of her frustrations on him at worst. She constantly called him a mistake, and for the longest time he had no idea why. He had managed to find her private journal one time and discovered an entry mentioning the drunken incident that sired him. Bo didn't know his other parent or even know if the sim knew he existed.

Bo: I know that I was a little terror when I was a kid, but it was the only way I could get her to acknowledge me. After a while of that and her yelling at me, it just stuck. She finally kicked me out whenever she knew she wouldn't get in trouble for it. I don't know why she didn't just put me up for adoption whenever I was born.

Meghan: Maybe it's selfish of me to say so, but I'm glad that she didn't. I understand why it must have been so hurtful to see me all of those years ago.

Bo: It was, but a lot has happened since then. I died! I was brought back by a handsome spell caster! I might have a date with him! And more importantly, I have a second chance at life.

Bo: There's something I want to give you.

Bo hands over a key to the house.

Bo: You're always welcome to come visit Uncle Dennis and I at any time. Just don't bring Eileen please.

Meghan: Deal.

The two went inside where Dennis was waiting on them, and they spent more time catching up. Bo realized that a lot of his hatred of children had less to do with actual kids and more to do with his own mom's awful treatment of him. Maybe family could be just the three of them. Bo had been told to surround himself with people that love him, and now he had one more person to add to that list.

Uptown San Myshuno - VIII Landgraab

Meghan was still reeling with revelation that she not only had a brother, but she watched him die on TV. If that wasn't upsetting enough, her mom had hidden this from her and called him no one important whenever she recognized him. It made her sad knowing that seeing the love her mom had showered her with had hurt him so, but why did it hurt him? Why did her mom kick Bo out?

Meghan Spurlock: Mom, we need to talk.

Eileen Spurlock: Hmm, you've got that look on your face. What now?

Meghan: Uncle Dennis was here. He is heading to Sulani to meet that man that was on TV. He's alive again somehow, and I now know that he's my big brother.

Eileen: That #$@#%ing uncle of yours told you that??

Meghan: Yes, and he also told me that you kicked him out of the house whenever he was a teenager.

Eileen (sarcastically): Oh no, the poor thing. He obviously was an angel and not at all awful.

Meghan: MOM! Stop being sarcastic about this! You had another child and never told me about him!? You kicked him out! And apparently things were bad enough that him seeing how you treated me hurt him deeply.

Eileen: HIM? HURT? Meghan, you have no idea what kind of person Bo is. He was awful to deal with from pregnancy to childhood. A constant reminder of how I messed up and how I almost lost everything because of HIM! You wouldn't have been born much less had all of the opportunities you have if I had of kept him around. I wouldn't have been able to keep my career nor get your father.

Meghan: Complaining about an infant being difficult? Spare me. You were the adult and the parent. You were supposed to be the bigger person. Knowing how mean you can be, a lot of your troubles were probably self-imposed. And seriously? Your work was more important to you than the child you had?

Eileen: You tire me with your moral high-mindedness and righteous attitude. You have no idea what it's like to have a CAREER. What you have is barely a JOB. You have FANS? Well, I have SUBORDINATES. People answer to me! I worked my whole life, was loyal and sacrificed so much, and that one drunken mistake almost tanked it all. I would have lost more than you've ever had.

Meghan: If I lose my job, then I still have my family and friends. And I'm going to book a loading screen to Sulani so I can meet Bo for myself so I can have one more person in that family and friends group. This conversation is over.

As Meghan went downstairs, Eileen swore furiously. Dennis had ruined all of the work she had put into maintaining this little family. She should have told building security ages ago to never let him in.

She went downstairs to get a glass of juice to calm herself down. Eileen saw Meghan booking the loading screen and chatting with whom she could only presume was the girl's uncle. She mused to herself that soon enough she'd meet that failure in person and know what a disappointment he truly was.
