Yes I felt silly labeling them, still feel like it ties things together nicely lol

So I wanted to get a better feel of how hector is distinct in the beast of little hope au, especially as its an offshoot of the Hector Clarke au and when it comes down to it he had the benefit of a decent childhood that then got derailed by lycanthopy in his teens, so I thought about it and as he grows up obsessed with the local history and would have centred himself around that it would have led to him growing his hair out but as that positive future stopped in it's tracks then I went with a popular look for the era that can contextually be seen as maintaining this moment he could no longer commit to his life goals, like it's trendy and all but you can see how he would have liked to not be trendy and instead be weird and esoteric and to be honest I didn't expect to write so much about hector's perfectly average hairstyle but moving on he's in his late twenties and while he isn't as rough due to the benefit of a gentler early life and not being FBI, I wanted him to look tired and maybe a touch younger than he should despite the fact that he's like 6'3 because the way it's impacted him is just different than it would have been if it was an early childhood thing, that and with him being selectively mute by the 90s I opted for a much more "invisible issues" type of approach where the worst that can be seen is him maybe looking tired

Now onto the damn wolf finally 😅

So as can be seen in the sketch his wolf form, much like Vince's, retains his eyes, unlike Vince his fur is very straight and it would be my intention that it has the same vibe as his hair, like he's got this scary black dog look but really he's just a big puppy that wants to stick with his sister, especially with all the self image issues and feeling responsible for everything bad that has happened to his family despite having no control over how things turned out

All credit for the concept goes to @108garys, who came up with this Megan/Hector siblings au and a happier alt where Clarence raises them in Little Hope, as well as the ideas of Hector's paper plate mask and Megan painting a mustache on her little brother with her makeup. I will never get over how wholesome the whole thing is 😁

Staby Doll

I saw this incorrect quote recently and I knew what I had to do, so bringing Sherman Du'met into the evil little family or more so bringing pyromegan/burnt doll into the two Du'mets thing has Sherman trying to survive Hector's inability to say no to his sister(also not Hector not warning Manny and deciding to let them sort it out themselves)

Anyway, the alias for murder castle Megan is Margaret Du'met, I don't think she'd actually stab him because she's more of a "let the fire decide" type and would there for be more likely to attempt to burn him(should I draw either of those? 😂) Sherman in fire like "good for her"

Get rekt Sherman

Manny would 100% bully children and Megan would 100% 'calmly' show him the error of his ways

I've had this idea in mind for a while but was indecisive on the details, but basically mid 70s teen Sherman is about to "fuck around and find out", messing with Hector and his art projects is a dangerous idea on Megan's watch 😈

I figured it'd be nice to spice up Sherman's look with some stripes since the other two have a lot more going on design wise

The Beast of Little Hope

Set in 1992 the clarke family is a pack of werewolves, over a decade prior a teen Hector Clarke was bitten by the Beast of Arkansas and while the family worked to keep him inline they all fell under the curse over the years except Megan who has made it her duty to protect her family. Hector doesn't speak much since the death of their father Clarence one full moon.

The question of who is responsible is unanswered and intentionally kept secret by Megan to prevent the fallout within the family, Hector blames himself regardless and feels a lot of guilt surrounding his family's curse and exactly how he can end it and so he stays close to his sister who has really done the work to become somewhat of a monster hunter although due to the nature of things most of her methods were focused a around non lethal approach and you best believe she's decked out in silver.

After a horrific accident and a lead on the Beast who started this whole thing the family splits as does the au

The first part is Hector and Megan's trip to Arkansas to track down Sherman. It's at this point that I'll clarify that I'm going for a contextual control method of lycanthopy were there's enough room for feral wolf stuff in the backstory but in general Hector can use his abilities to assist as much as possible on their road trip. Megan is determined to break this curse no matter what it takes…

Mean while the family remaining family consisting of James, Anne, Dennis, Tanya, Vince and Anthony travel to Alberta Canada to live in isolation until the curse is broken. They set up on mount Blackwood(the Washingtons and their lodge aren't there yet) and make the old hotel their home, their current condition makes them more equipment to handle this survivalist tale but they are not alone on the mountain…(there is of course a certain man with a flame thrower for one)

There are other elements at play that I'm holding off on telling for now but expect to hear and see more once I got these werewolf designs figured out 😉

Also the title is both a play on the beast of Arkansas and to be read as "the beast" as one might reference a type of thing like "the wolf" when talking about all wolves as a species and "of little hope" as "with little hope" positive or not it means refer to the situation of all the characters(especially when they're very much away from little hope)

I honestly thought this would take more words but I'll certainly have more to say when I can articulate it right

So I think I've found my 80s look for Megan's Hector Clarke timeline, did she butcher the poor lace skirt? Yes but it is the perfect 10 years later from her teen version and it keeps with the alt vibe whilst transforming it

Munday Mourning

Megan gets to set a massive fire and everything special agent Munday has on her, even if she doesn't trust him it gives her the heads up to disappear again(for them both of them to disappear really)

Beyond suspicion this is the face of someone who just saw a ghost, this is their first meeting and neither know they are half siblings and wouldn't for a long time(do you like Megan's match stick 😁)

Also I screwed up Hector's face and figured "aesthetic silhouette" was better than discarding the whole thing lol

Sometimes I think about smg people stumbling across the headcanon and subsequent AUs regarding Megan and Hector being (half)siblings, like there's a lot of wild and wonderful things we've all come up with but I feel like this would be incredibly random especially without all the necessary context

I swear it makes perfect sense in context and I low key forget that not everyone knows about and excepts it as fact

After the fire and faking his death Hector set about his goal, going through as many new selves as needed, he didn't trouble himself with the pyromaniac that aided him beyond the general knowledge that she was never caught.

One day whilst the construction crew toiled away Mr belknap found a package in his office, it had no stamps, no address but it had a name "Hector"...

He knew even before opening it that it had to be her. After much deliberation he risked it and found... news papers? The clippings dated as far back as the early seventies up through to the present, they all had one thing in common, they were about deadly fires, some were tragic house fires put down to freak accidents others spoke of large swaths of forest. All killed. The oldest paper was from January of 1972, it told of a girl who had survived the fire that killed her family and scrawled across it was "Catch up baby brother"

He was unnerved by her ability to reach him and the fact that she both knew what he was doing but was apparently ahead of him(never mind that she had quite the head start) but looking into the girl "Megan Clarke" and her deceased family her claims rang true, he saw his own face staring back in her family and her father had the same first name, the obituaries said Clarence Clarke had died right around the time his father had abandoned his mother... He tried to set this revelation aside, for the time being, he thought of the construction crew, currently enjoying their break... He had work to do.

Down one path is love and support, Hector grows up in a happy family and although he was viewed as a weird kid it didn't matter because his Dad and sister were always there to look out for him and in time he grew into his home and life was good

The other Du'met goes down the same path that we're all familiar with but Megan is the sole survivor of the Clarke fire, four years after(when she'd be the equivalent age to the first picture) she set her second fire burning Carson(who had become her guardian) in his home, fleeing from little hope, all the light of the other was cursed and she burnt her way through the years until one day she meets a real life ghost! "Hector Munday" wore her loved ones face and encouraged her to burn, she heard the news after, seen what he was doing. Maybe she'll drop by and visit her baby brother

So I was thinking more broadly about the evil little family au and other masks given how far I've come in Charlie's look and it occurred to me, there's only one right answer for pyromegan and it's a baby faced doll mask, something antique and maybe even Victorian specifically

The execution is up in the air but with her specific background it's the best choice

And in context I couldn't see Du'met giving his sister a mask that reflects that

Megan admires her brother's creativity

A lot of thought went into Megan's look, she wears her late Mother's jewelry, she thrifts, cuts, dyes and generally enjoys maintaining her reputation as that weird girl to those that would judge her little brother and Hector's scary big sister to those that would do worse than that, for what it's worth Clarence won't hear a word against his kids, hector's mask makes him happy and so does Megan's spooky music and that's what matters in all this

Hector being raised by Clarence as a Clarke truly would have made the world a better place, not only in 180-186 less dead but in how enriched so many people's lives would have been, hell the Clarke's would be alive, the town would never go under and he could focus his more morbid curiosity on the witch trials and he would never have to interact with Lucinda or Manny Sherman ever

Hector could have saved Little Hope's tourism industry with his sick animatronics skills
