Summary: The Baroness is malevolent, right out of a Machovielian plot, and is dedicated to getting Madge to the throne. She is willing to sell her very soul and steal what is not hers, a dress so special that it surely cannot be worn or owned by Katniss.

LOVE the Title sneak peek a synopsis of the story?

Of course! That one is yet another outstanding @everlarkficexchange prompt that I have hanging around. The prompt is from the 2021 exchange, for a historical au with shepherd Peeta and seamstress Katniss. I’ve adjusted it so that Katniss is actually a weaver while weaved the fibers into cloth, Peeta is a shepherd and sells wool to Katniss, and Prim is the seamstress, using the cloth Katniss weaves. This is actually like the fourth or fifth title I’ve given it but I think this one may finally stick. So here’s a snippet:

“In that case, please give your mother my regards and thank her for the tonic,” he lifts the small jar slightly before placing it in his sack. “Are there any other herbs or cuttings she or Miss Primrose have need of? From up in the hills?”

“I shall have to ask her,” Katniss says and thinks to ask him when they might expect him again when the bush beside her shudders. Both of their heads turn and spot the culprit. “No!” Katniss shouts as Peeta attempts to shoo away the placid lamb that happily munches on her raspberry bushes. The lamb bleats and the dog barks as Katniss sets her hands on her hips.

“I apologize, Miss Everdeen, I--”

“That is the third time this month that troublesome lamb has consumed one of my raspberry bushes.”

“He is only eating what he sees as available food,” Peeta points out and Katniss snorts indelicately. “If you would allow me to repair your garden fence—“

“Perhaps you should pay your flock greater mind or I shall be forced to turn that lamb into a stew!”

Three ships:

Hayffie. Surprised? 😂 I’ve been a diehard fan of Haymitch Abernathy and Effie Trinket (”The Hunger Games”) since december 2012.

I was writing a sci-fi/dystopian novel at the time and was deep-diving through the genre when I happened to see the trailer in a movie theater. And here’s what’s spooky: I face claimed Jennifer Lawrence for my heroine and taped a picture of her in my notebook BEFORE Jen was cast as Katniss. 😱

Before Hayffie there was Huddy - Gregory House and Lisa Cuddy from ”House MD”. I first discovered FFnet because of them, years before I knew there was something called Tumblr.

And before that, way back when I was a teenager, it was Fox Mulder and Dana Scully from “The X Files”. My very first real obsession! Have like 20 TV recorded VHS tapes to prove it.

First ever ship:

It’s a tie between Nellie Oleson and Percival Dalton from “Little House on the Prairie” and C.C. Babcock and Niles the Butler from “The Nanny”. And you know a funny thing about that fandom: It’s pretty much universally agreed upon that Niles’s last name is Brightmore. It’s even more “canon” than the fan name Finn for Finnick and Annie’s son.

I don’t know why my ships are always so straight. First thinking about it I came up with no gay couples I’ve shipped other than Bert and Ernie from “Sesame Street” but then I remembered what a fangirl I was over Kurt Hummel and Blaine Anderson and Brittany S. Pierce and Santana Lopez from “Glee” and of course Dani Clayton and Jamie from “The Haunting of Bly Manor”!

And as for C.C. a.k.a. Lauren Lane, if she asked me to marry her I would say yes in a heartbeat even if it meant breaking up her and Niles. 😂 She’s a fierce sweetheart and hands down the most beautiful woman on the planet! Sorry Effie.

Last song: “Fever” with Peggy Lee. Rediscovered the song through the magnificent chess TV series “The Queen’s Gambit”.

Last movie: “Super Mario Bros” from 2023. Me and my younger sis was obsessed with the Mario and Donkey Kong games growing up! I always played Luigi by the way.

Currently reading: Just finished “Gwendy’s Button Box” by Stephen King and Richard Chizmar. The audiobook.

Currently watching: Manifest” on Netflix. It’s about time travel. I think. Too early to tell.

Currently consuming: An ice cream Sandwich.

Currently craving: I’m in a fried chicken period at the moment after discovering there’s a KFC ten minutes from my apartment. And that’s after living in Stockholm for over ten years!!

My fancast for Peeta's father is Robert Redford. A very handsome blond, blue eyed man, but with a kind face and a gorgeous smile.

It's difficult to find pictures of him much younger than this, but I did find one that could be a teenage Mr Mellark, in SOTR, but only in black and white. Look at that jawline. :)

Chapter 9 Coming Soon! 

Synopsis:  Text/Social Media Fic, Bandfic. Katniss and her band (The Hunt) are signed by big record label D13 Music. It's a huge break for them, even if it means potentially compromising their musical integrity by changing their songs and working with hit songwriter Peeta Mellark. Even though she can't stand him at first, will Katniss fall for Peeta? Or, will drama with Gale and pressure from fans stand in the way?

🤬Is there a WIP that you hate?

Hmmh, I don't think I really hate any of my WIPs - I'm super annoyed that I still haven't finished my DickBabs fic "Partners" by writing down that godforsaken epilogue even though it's been 2 years since the last update... I'm just super proud of the story I've written so far and now I'm too afraid of wrapping it up in a way that might be unsatisfactory 🫣
