'Aristocrats,' Irish Repertory Theatre, Review
'Aristocrats,' presented by Irish Repertory Theatre, is a must-see.
Danielle Ryan, Tm Ruddy in Aristocrats (Jeremy Daniel) Dysfunction and decay are principle themes in Brian Friel’s Chekovian Aristocrats, a two-act drama about a once upper middle class family in precipitous decline in the fictional village of Ballybeg, County Donegal, Ireland. The Black Arts: Christmas Number One (2007)

Synopsis: covet
/ˈkʌvɪt/

yearn to possess (something, especially something belonging to another)
When Karla, a college senior meets James Brookes, a no BS marketing exec infamous for getting his way, she quickly gets into a relationship with him. But what will she do when his very shady past comes to surface and how far will James go in order to get what he wants?
Songs for this chapter:
Savage Remix- Megan Thee Stallion ft Beyoncé
Excuse Me Miss- Jay Z ft Pharrell
Act Up- City Girls
Karla
March, 20th.
"Ok, what are you doing?" Taty's loud ass just had to walk in and interrupt the peace I was in enjoying in my hotel room.
"I'm reading" I wave my book in the air.
"Yes, I see you reading and you shouldn't be. Karla, we did not fly all the way from San Francisco to Miami for you to sit indoors with Audre Lorde" Taty walls towards me and grabs my book from my hands.
"Well you want me to relax right?" I ask her. "Yes with some Don Julio, in a club and maybe you go home with a man. It is Hot Girl Spring Break, get the stick of your ass" I now spot the bottle of Don Julio in her other hands.
"You're gonna make drink that?" I already know the answer
"Yes but by not here. Chanel found out this party they're having at this beach house and we're going. Her and Adrienne are already there" She passes me a black micro bikini. "And you're wearing THAT to the party so go get dressed. Now."
Taking the book from her hands, I put under my pillow and begrudgingly go into the bathroom to go change. It's been a while since I went a party so one in a beach house sounds like fun.
"Ok I'm ready. Let me just grab a sarong to wrap around my ass so it's not just hanging out the entire time" I walk out of the bathroom. Looking through my bag, I see something that wasn't originally in there.
"Taty?"
"Yeah"
I hold up the pack of condoms that magically appeared in my bag because I'm sure I didn't pack them.
"Did you put these in my bag?" I know she put them in there because it's such a Taty thing to do.
"Yeah, because I'm surprised you didn't bring any with you" She looks at me like I have two heads for asking that question.
"Look, I'm all for a hot girl spring break but I'm not looking to fuck a random dude. Getting drunk with my girls, that sounds like a good time"
"NOW...you are speaking my language. Well partially because I still don't get why you won't hook up with a random dude but enough chit chat. Let's go".
What sprung to mind when Taty said "beach house party" I was expecting a decent sized house and pool with a few kegs and red cups. The reality was literally something out of a Migos video.
Actually I wouldn't be surprised if all a sudden Offset or Quavo just popped out. Half of the girls here were influencers, making sure to get the perfect IG photo for their paid partnership with FashionNova with a City Girls or Meg Thee Stallion lyric as their caption. Speaking of taking pictures for the gram...
"Bitch...I need a picture with one of the pool floaties!" Chanel shouts from across the pool. Taty is all systems go to, phone at the ready to take the picture.
"Let see it!"
Chanel is the dream IG model. I mean she could easily be a runway model. That's how pretty she is. She screams glamour and diamonds. An aesthetic she lives by.
"I'm surprised you got her out" She says to Taty.
"Can't I go a party without being dragged?" They act as if all I do is stay indoors. We haven't even been in Miami longer than a day and I get dragged for reading in the room.
"Yes you can but sometimes you need a little convincing"
Queen B, want no smoke with me. Then turned this motherfucker up 800 degrees. The opening bars of Savage Remix starts playing and I swear every chick in this party just lost their shit includes.
Bougie, he say the way that thang move is a movie. Adrienne joins us with a bottle of Hennessy in her hand ready for me to take a sip from. The familiar burn runs down my throat. The four of us start rapping the lyrics to each other.
"Hips tick tok when I dance, on that demon time, she might start an only fans" I start whining my hips and Chanel's loud ass starts hyping me up
"If you want to see some real ass, baby here's your chance" Chanel screams.
My eyes then spot someone looking at me. He's over in a private section of the party. There's a few girls around him but he seems to not be focused on them and rather his gaze is focused on me.
"Karla, why that white dude staring at you like that. You know him or something" Taty has also noticed him staring at me.
"I don't know that man. He's probably Miami community dick anyway" I'm not entirely sold on what I said but a part of me wouldn't be surprised if he was.
"Community dick or not, he's fine. And I don't even like white men like that" Chanel gives her two cents
"Please say that louder with your racist ass. I'm sure he heard you the first time" I joke. Taty and Adrienne are now lounging on a chaise lounge and have swapped their bottles. My gaze returns back to the private section of the party and he's whispers into a waiter's ear but his gaze is still on me.
"Karla! You still need to drink some Don Julio. You've already drank some Henny" I'm sure Adrienne is already a bit tipsy. She's always been the one to get drunk the fastest but can wake up in the morning with no hangover. It's annoying
"Excuse me miss?" I snap out of my thoughts to see the same waiter with a Margarita.
"Sorry, I didn't order this"
"I know Miss. It's been paid for by Mr Brooks" he says.
"Girl, take it or I will" Taty says
"Hey it's my drink. I'll take it. Thank you"
"Karla, you should talk to him. Thank him up close and personal" Adrienne says with a wink. I know what that means and that's not happening.
"I'm sure he'd appreciate that" Of course Chanel is behind this.
"Alright! What do you want me to do? Suck his dick for buying me drink. Goddamn. You're right, I should say thank you to him. I'm going up there".
Jay Z 's Excuse Me Miss, one of my favourite tracks starts playing through the party
Excuse me, what's your name? I see some ladies tonight that should be hanging with Jay Z, Jay Z
As I walk to his section of the party, I realise how tall he is. Height wise around 6'1, 6'2, hair is slicked back. Ocean blue eyes. He's dressed pretty casual. White shirt, unbuttoned. White tank top and some shorts. Cartier Watch and a Corona in his hand. Got a little stubble on his face.
"H-Hi" Why is my voice sounding so nervous?
"James Brooks"
Excuse me Miss, what's your name. Can you come, hang with me. Possibly can I take you home tonight
"Karla. Thanks for the drink, that was nice of you" I go to sit opposite him. Now that I'm closer, I see his eyes aren't totally blue. He has a small brown fleck in his right eye. I guess even things that appear to be perfect have their little cracks.
"Thought it would be a nice party favour" he smiles.
"Is this your party?" Would make a lot of sense. He definitely looks like someone who is balling.
"No, it's my client's. But my agency helped organise it so I thought I'd come by. Have some fun. Meet some new people" A smirk crosses his face when mentions the last part.
"Well you're certainly the people person aren't you? I ask.
He laughs. Why am I flirting with this random guy that bought me a cocktail. It must be the Hennessy.
"You live in Miami?"
"No, I'm from the bay. San Francisco. I'm just here with my girls for spring break"
"Nice. I wouldn't mind showing you around Miami. Take you to couple nice spots" I don't know why am immediately taking him up on his offer because I barely give a guy the time of the day but fuck it!
"Maybe you can" He reaches into his wallet and passes me a business card. "You really walk around with business cards. You're that guy?"
"I'm not. I just occasionally take one with him for...insurance" That goddamn smirk come back and it's kind of sexy.
"Insurance? Well I should get back to my friends. I'll see you around" As I walk away, I hear "Hopefully you will"
"What did he want?" Taty asks. "Nothing really, he was just being nice and gave me his number" I wave the card around before putting in my purse. Don't wanna lose that.
"So nice he gave you his number?" Her face now has the famous Taty "that's bullshit" expression, typically reserved for men.
"Karla, no one is that nice. You gonna call him?" Chanel asks
"Maybe. Don't see the harm in trying" I look back up to where he's sitting and he raises his bottle. In response I raise my glass in his direction.
"Well, at least he's fine" Adrienne chimes in
A/N- Hi, so a couple things. Jorja Smith is Karla, in case you didn't guess from the cover. Also they'll be different songs associated with each chapter because I listen to music when I write to sort of capture the environment the characters are in since I visualise the songs. (It's odd I know) Hence the reason why you'll see lyrics in italics

Back it Up
A/N: Listennnnn...I think this idea is funny as hell. No cap 😂 Hope you enjoy. Listen to Simon Says by Megan Thee Stallion.
Pairing: Steve Rogers x Reader
Summary: Rogers can hold his own
Warnings: Language. Reader is BLACK!
Word Count: You still expect me to know?
—————————
You and your friends had FINALLY had the chance to go to the new club downtown. You currently stood in line with your close friends, Mo and Shay, waiting for the line to move up. Along with you and your friends, a few mutual tagged along. Them being your fine ass man Steve, and his friends, Bucky and Sam. They wanted a night out too and having a group of tall, buff dudes looking over you wasn’t such a bad thought. Especially when creeps started to cross the line.
Speaking of line, the one you were currently in finally moved up and the bouncer allowed you and your friends to go in, the men having to pay. “That’s kinda fucked up, you know. Y’all get in because y’all got titties but we gotta pay because what?” Sam spoke up and you turned around, glancing at him as Steve wrapped an arm around your shoulders. “It’s because your ass ain’t too much to look at.” You smiled as a hurt expression crossed his face.
“I thought we was cool, Y/N.” He spoke and Bucky laughed while you and Steve chuckled.
“Y’all are cool. She wouldn’t be a real friend if she didn’t tell you the truth.” Mo came to your defense as you all sat at the bar. You turned to her and pointed before turning back to Sam.
“Exactly. You ain’t got that much, not about to let you sit here and live in a fantasy. You’re welcome.” You smiled and he rolled his eyes.
“Get your girl, Steve. She’s so damn mean.” Sam spoke and Steve laughed, turning his attention to you as you order your drink. “Ease up on him, Doll. You know he’s sensitive.”
You nodded, patting Steve’s back. “You’re right. My fault, Sam.” You chuckled, looking over to see Shay already downing her first drink. “Damn, Shay.”
She waved you off, ordering another. “Listen, the moment we stepped in this bitch I noticed the broke boys look good and the decent dudes ain’t to blessed in the face. I need to get a buzz.”
You laughed leaning your head back. The bartender finally brought you your drink and everyone else ordered theirs. “You right, might as well.” You lifted your drink before knocking it back, making a face at the burn of the alcohol.
“Not to be the girl...but we need Dusse. Immediately.” Mo spoke up and you nodded. Steve and Bucky pulled a face. “Wait...y’all have never had Cognac?” You spoke up then looked at Sam who shrugged
“Didn’t need two white boys drunk if they ass on my hands.” You smirked and leaned over the bar, waving your hand. “Y’all definitely getting fucked up tonight. Aye, bartender! We need a bottle of Dusse! ASAP!”
Bucky and Steve looked at each other as Sam smirked patting their backs. “Don’t worry, it’ll be fun.”
—————
Steve and Bucky were fucked. Up. I mean, legit fucked up. White boy wasted, if you will. I take that back. It wasn’t THAT bad, but they were tipping and having a bit more fun.
Bucky has been flirting with Mo through the night, the two of them seeming to hit it off greatly. Shay and Sam were walking around the club, trying to get people to drive the boat (y’all bought two more bottles and they had one of them) and Steve was currently looking at you like you were a bottle of water and he was a man that has been in the desert for months.
His cheeks were ringed pink, hair was just a tad messier than its usual neat style and his hand rested on your hip. You weren’t as tipsy send you’d only had about three shots but the liquor in your system was definitely working.
You lightly hit your lip as Steve’s hand traveled down further, his fingertips grazing your soft skin. “You’re sooo pretty.” He spoke in your ear and you laughed, leaning into his chest as he gave you a lazy smile.
Just as you were about to reply a familiar voice rang throughout the speakers of the club.
What Juicy say? He be like...shut the fuck uuuup!
Play some pimpin’, mane
Your eyes widened and you hurriedly pulled Steve over to Sam and Shay, Shay about dance on Sam. She smiled widely at you as you came over and quickly grabbed your forearms as you stood in front of Steve. Steve looked confusedly at Sam as he went behind Steve. Bucky popped up, on the other side of Sam. “You’re gonna need the support, pal.”
You bent over, Mo beside you, ready to hype you up as the beat prepared to drop. Steve’s hands fell to your waist once it did and you took off. Steve’s eyes widened, his knees bending as you bounced your ass on him.
Steve kept up, lifting up his shirt and holding the hem between his teeth as you moved your hips, ass shaking while Mo clapped beside you, recording you and Steve. Shay smiled in amusement as you stuck out your tongue, looking over your shoulder to see your ass bounce on Steve’s lap.
Left, right. Left, right, left.
Left, right. Left, right, left.
You moved your cheeks as the lyrics advised, backing your ass up on Steve. He gripped your hips more, grinding into you. The two of you drew a crowd, everyone cheering the two of you on. You rolled your hips to the beat and beat over more when Meg recited “Through the tights you can see this pussy fat, aye.”
You laughed as squatted down, clapping to cheer you on. You shook your ass before getting back to twerking backing it up more, causing Steve to fall back a bit, feet still planted in the same spot. Sam and Bucky held him up by his arms as Steve stared down, watching your ass bounce on him.
“Oh, shit! White boy keeping up!” Someone yelled and the cheers got louder. Sam and Bucky moves back some, Steve basically laid out with you twerking in his lap. He looked at Sam’s hand, snatching the bottle of Dusse from his hand and taking a swig, while you twerked. He dropped held onto the bottle and let you do what you do.
The song ended and you stood up, Mo and Shay stillhyping you up as you turned. Sam and Bucky were helping Steve sit up, the blonde looking a bit dazed and covered in sweat. His shirt was stretched a bit from it being in his mouth
You panted softly as Steve looked at you shocked and aroused. You shrugged and wrapped your arms around his neck. “You really kept up, huh?” You spoke and Steve laughed, still breathless.
“It was the Dusse.” You laughed and leaned your head back. Sam patted Steve on the back and your friends laughed at his response as well. “Steve might just be invited to the cookout.”
You smiled and patted his chest. You turned to Bucky after a small pause. “How did you already know what to do?” You spoke and Bucky looked up as he took a shot of Dusse. “I never said I never had Cognac. You guys just assumed.”
You smirked and he shrugged, wrapping an arm around Mo. “Jerk.” Steve spoke and Bucky laughed.
“I’m keeping this.” Steve held up the bottle as he took another swig. You laughed and looked at Sam. He shook his head. “No one drunk straight from it. It was waterfalls.”
You nodded and looked at Bucky as you grabbed the other bottle on the bar counter. “Pay the bartender. I got other things to show Steve about the effects of Dusse.” You bang to walk towards the door and Steve bit his lip, pulling up his jeans.
“This might be my favorite liquor.”
“Oh, wait til you have Hennessy, baby.”
“Fuck.”

6 x YA reads: eating disorders
This Friday, June 2nd, it is World Eating Disorder Action Day. In honor of that, I’m sharing something that is a little bit more personal. Over two years ago it was a book that gave me the final push to contact the therapist my doctor had redirected me to. What would’ve happened if I hadn’t read that book? Perhaps I still would’ve ended up in therapy, but it might’ve not been my own decision. Ever since I try to read a fiction book about ED at least once a year. Below I’ve listed the books I’ve read or still want to read.
Paperweight (Meg Haston)
This is the book, the push. Main character Stevie is on a path of self-destruction since her brother died. She’s overwhelmed with guilt and believes she deserves to die. Her parents send her to a camp for girls with various forms of ED, here she is diagnosed with bulimia and send to therapy. The story is set in both the present and the past, revealing through diary entries what happened when Stevie’s brother died.
Nothing Tastes As Good (Claire Hennessy)
Annabel’s eating disorder won, meaning that she died. Now she is the guardian angel of a girl. If she helps her, Annabel can move on. I know, like everybody else, that anorexia can win. And in the case of anorexia nervosa, winning means you die. Knowing this and knowing this are completely different things. Even in death, Annabel supported anorexia. She didn’t see that it was a bad thing. It was hard to read at times. This book took some unexpected turns, especially when it came to Julia, Annabel’s pupil, and her story.
Holding Up the Universe (Jennifer Niven)
This is, to my regret, the only book on my list that discusses overweight instead of anorexia. I started reading it because I wanted to try a Jennifer Niven book after reading so many praises about her work. I didn’t expect to be able to relate to Libby, a girl once the fattest teen in America. She lost her mother and used food as a way to cope with her emotions. The ironic thing is that I used non-eating as a way to cope with my emotions. I regret that this is the only book about overweight because I don’t know any other books, but I’d love to read more.
What I Lost (Alexandra Ballard), releases June 6th, 2017
Blurb: What sixteen-year-old Elizabeth has lost so far: forty pounds, four jean sizes, a boyfriend, and her peace of mind. As a result, she’s finally a size zero. She’s also the newest resident at Wallingfield, a treatment center for girls like her—girls with eating disorders. Elizabeth is determined to endure the program so she can go back home, where she plans to start restricting her food intake again. She’s pretty sure her mom, who has her own size-zero obsession, needs treatment as much as she does. Maybe even more. Then Elizabeth begins receiving mysterious packages. Are they from her ex-boyfriend, a secret admirer, or someone playing a cruel trick? This eloquent debut novel rings with authenticity as it follows Elizabeth’s journey to taking an active role in her recovery, hoping to get back all that she lost.
Sweet Fall (Tilly Cole)
This is actually a New Adult book. NA books often have a character dealing with something heavy, but this was the first time I read an NA book about the main character suffering from an eating disorder. Lexi is a cheerleader who has a tight group of friends, throughout the book she falls in love with Austin, a former gang member who is now a star athlete. This isn’t a book where the boy saves the girl, but where both main characters are struggling with their own stuff and though they do find support with each other, the only person who can truly help them are themselves.
Wintergirls (Laurie Halse Anderson)
Blurb: Lia and Cassie are best friends, wintergirls frozen in matchstick bodies, competitors in a deadly contest to see who can be the skinniest. But what comes after size zero and size double-zero? When Cassie succumbs to the demons within, Lia feels she is being haunted by her friend’s restless spirit. Laurie Halse Anderson explores Lia’s descent into the powerful vortex of anorexia, and her painful path toward recovery.

Inside The Diamond Ball - Everything That Went Down With Rihanna, Cardi & Offset, Meg & Moneybagg Yo, Emily & Fab, Kehlani & YG & More
Rihanna got all glammed up for her 5th annual Diamond Ball that brings out all of her celeb friends. Go inside to see the Bad Gal serve up old Hollywood glam, Cardi B’s Cinderella vibes and her husband Offset's Prince Charming 'fit, plus couples Megan Thee Stallion & Moneybagg Yo, Emily B & Fabolous, Kelani & YG and more…
Rihanna’s 5th Annual Diamond Ball went down at Cipriani Wall Street New York City, following her Savage x Fenty lingerie runway show during New York Fashion Week.
The Bajan beauty hosts the annual gala to benefit her Clara Lionel Foundation, which supports education programs around the world. From lingerie to philanthropy, we stan.
The Grammy Award winning artist never disappoints when it comes to fashion on the carpet for her annual gala and this year was no different. The “Work” singer served up old Hollywood glam in a black Givenchy haute couture gown from Claire Waight Keller's Fall 2019 collection. The gown featured a high neck, long sleeves, and a sheer white cage skirt at the hem.
Not only did she look amazing, she offered up some amazing words about being a proud black woman. And we just…ugh! LOVE HER! Check it:

#BlackExcellence indeed.
Make way for the belle of the ball!
Cardi B hit the carpet in this fairytale-like light pink tiered Georges Hobeika Couture gown. The “Press” rapper loves a princess vibe at Rih’s Diamond Ball. She rocked a princess style Christian Siriano gown to the Diamond Ball in 2017.
Oh, and she had her boo Offset dress as Prince Charming:
Bardi also brought her sister Hennessy Carolina, who rocked a glittery rainbow Georges Hobeika dress that featured a thigh-high leg slit.
Back to the couples...
Rapper Fabolous and Emily B are still together.
Over the summer, drama popped off online after flicks of Fabolous having lunch with a woman surfaced. He claims the woman was a teacher form his son's school and even threatened to sue for defamation. Meanwhile, Emily B was on a girls trip...with some NFL company - i.e. Panthers QB Cam Newton. Weeks later, Fab and Em were spotted at the strip club together, so they're seemingly still working on keeping their relationship solid.
New rap couple Megan Thee Stallion and Moneybagg Yo made their way to the Diamond Ball. These two have been all lovey dovey on social media lately and they're kinda growing on us.
Brand new couple YG and Kehalni made another carpet appearance together.
Kehlani recently vented her frustration at internet trolls (again) and revealed her 3-year battle with "media related PTSD." Catch up HERE.
Oh baby! DJ Khaled - who was tapped to perform - hit the carpet with his pregnant partner Nicole. They're gearing up for baby #2.
Pharrell Williams - who was tapped to perform - made his way on the carpet with his wife and mother of his kids, Helen.
Rapper ASAP Ferg and his model/photographer girlfriend Renell Medrano served up coupledom vibes.
NBA baller Carmelo Anthony hit the carpet - solo - sans his estranged wife LaLa Anthony. She was in attendance though.
Singer Normani stepped outside of the box in this J'Aton Couture dress. We feelin' it?
Rapper A$AP Rocky has been all over the place since he made it back to the United States following his assault case in Sweden.
He rocked a Raf Simons ensemble from the SS 2020 collection.
Rapper/REFORM co-chair Meek Mill was in the mix, dapping up fellow rapper YG on the carpet.
"Love & Hip Hop" star Cyn Santana - who is single these days - posed it up in a Garo Sparo dress, Stella Hues shoes, and Erickson Beamon earrings. She brought her "LAAH" co-star Jonathan Fernandez as her date.
Model/"Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood" star Slick Woods popped up on the carpet to support Rih's cause. If you didn't know, she went into labor right after hitting the carpet for Rihanna's Savage x Fenty runway show last year.
Hey, 2 Chainz!
"Power" star Naturi Naughton rocked this pink and black striped Rubin Singer gown, accessorized with Dannijo jewels and a Judith Leiber bag.
Well, hello there! Actress Paula Patton worked this Valentino number on Rih's purple carpet.
"Love & Hip Hop" star Yandy Smith looked gorge when she hit the carpet.
Terrence J - who's currently hosting "Power's" after show - was all smiles.
Raptress Rapsody was in the mix.
Fat Joe hit the carpet in his blue suit before hitting the stage to perform.
Model Cindy Bruna showed off her stems in this green high-low Rami Kadi dress.
Celebrity stylist June Ambrose kept it simple and sexy in a Bibhu Mohapatra RTW dress.
"Love & Hip Hop" star Erica Mena was also in the mix.
Inside...
Rih made her way on stage with Pharrell to perform their hit track, "Lemon."
Yo Gotti, DJ Khaled and ASAP Ferg also hit the stage to perform.
Cardi was spotted chatting up journalist/activist Shaun King, who was honored during the event.
He shared a video of his wife turning up during the party:

During the action, Bardi experienced a faux pas. She apparently outbid herself during the charity portion of the event where she was trying to nab Rih's upcoming coffee table book.
PEOPLE reports:
At first, Cardi bid $106K on the designer table top book, even though the auctioneer had asked for $110K. After another bidder rang in at $107K, the singer upped her bid to $108K before bidding a final $111K — $1,000 more than the auctioneer had asked for.
“Do you know how this works?” the auctioneer joked, but Cardi — who attended the event with husband Offset — appeared unbothered and celebrated with her hands in the air as she won the coffee table book.
Ha!
Well, aren't they cute!
Rapper 21 Savage came out to party.

Meg Hennessy is an actor and a poet. This isn’t always how it needs to be. But at a very basic level, I’m often hoping to find an image that makes a viewer feel seen by this subject, that we might have a sense of what if might feel like to connect authentically with this person in life, whether that moment is loving, hopeful, flirtatious, challenging, menacing... that it be alive in the same way this actor can be alive on stage and film. Meg looks at the camera as if it is a human being and as if that human being means something to her. Sometimes it’s as simple as that. *hair dye by profslupin
Renee convinces Jean to let her dye his hair. The rest is exactly what you’d expect. (2k)
*mirrors by profslupin
The Trojans help Jean learn to look in the mirror and see himself instead of his scars
“Jean had a complicated relationship with his appearance. It wasn’t that he was insecure about his flaws, necessarily, but rather that they reminded him of his time in the Nest. Of his time with him.” (2.6k)
*watermarked by fairietailed
He hops into the kitchen on one foot, catching his mother before she carries the bowl of peas she’s holding into the dining room.
“Jeremy?” Her eyebrows pull together in concern at the look on his face. “What is it?”
“I don’t know,” he says, sticking out his foot. “I think it’s my soul mate?”
–
In which bruises and scars from your soulmate appear on your skin, and Jeremy’s skin is a myriad of colored stains. (4.6k)
*and i wanna come home to you. by redhoods
He’s so absorbed in staring at the way the sleeves are pulled up around his wrists that he doesn’t realize the team has filed out to the locker rooms until Jeremy crouches into his line of sight, “Everything alright?”
No, he thinks desperately, you’re too much.
“Sure,” he says eventually, standing up and walking away.
this is actually two parts, so it’s about 6k total
*the smell of honey by lilaliacs
Martha’s was a cozy little coffee shop that always smelled of honey, lilacs and something that couldn’t be described as anything less than home. And that’s what it was to Jeremy, who had spent his childhood sat on a stool at the tiny bar, coloring in the patterns of the menus, or watching his mother creating the most beautiful cakes and pastries that he had ever seen.
The place was filled with good memories and everyone who came in could sense the atmosphere of peace that seemed to fill the soft light falling in through lacy curtains at any time of day. In fact, multiple patrons had stated that they came in for exactly this, for a break from their everyday stress, to just grab a coffee and absorb whatever magic the smell of Martha’s cakes emitted and it was something Jeremy’s mother was very proud of.It was also something Jeremy was very proud of, and the reason for him to put his all in making the customers’ time there worthwhile. He never thought that one day, doing that would be a challenge.
(AU in which everything is the same only that Jeremy isnt captain of the trojans but works in his mom’s coffeeshop instead) (11k)
*eyes wide open by jaylocked
Jean blinked. Blinked again. Was sure he didn’t recognize the man on his doorstep, with his bright eyes and enormous grin and wavy blonde hair. Waited for him to explain himself with a simple raised eyebrow.
“Hi!” the man finally chirped. The sound was happiness channeled into a single word, and Jean wasn’t sure how he didn’t hate him already.
(based on the prompt from tumblr: “hi sorry I live below you and I hear your dog running around and barking all the time and– no no it’s fine I was just wondering if I could pet it?” au) (13k)
*i’ll come crashing by exyfexyfoxes
Hades/Persephone in the modern world where Jean runs an underground club that herds the souls of the dead. It’s a place where even gods die if they stay too long, regardless of how many pomegranate seeds they eat. Jean wants out. Jeremy wants in. Everybody wants them far away from each other. (19k)
*je reviens by laarusthefirst
‘Moreau is a rain cloud,’ Alvarez muttered, annoyed and bruised, watching Jean stalk ahead to the changing rooms. ‘He’s the human embodiment of a headache. He is the opposite of a Trojan.’‘Fucking good though, isn’t he?’ grinned Connor, jogging past.‘Can’t we all just be nice?’ Jeremy asked. (20k)
*this ink is still drying by ghostqueen
You can’t control who you want and you can’t control who hurts you
Jeremy was staring at Jean’s arms, tracing the bright swirls and splotches of ink that made up his sleeves with his eyes. His sleeves had been months of work and they still weren’t quite complete, he was still figuring out how to finish them. The first tattoo on his arms had been eight months ago, his first tattoo had been long before that. (26k)
*thick skin, an elastic heart by badacts
Jean sleeps around and learns how to make friends rather than alliances. Jeremy falls in love and can’t stop fucking up. (26k)
*ask the messenger by metis_ink
Jeremy Knox and the soulmate.
Guest starring: Exy, a transfer student, generalized anxiety, older sisters, drunk lesbians, bread, cake, a shed, the beach, the absence of Hennessy, Star Wars, Renee Walker, self-taught smooth talking, gratuitous French, No. 1 Trojans fan Kevin Day, relationship drama, general drama, the power of Friendship, questions, answers, team spirit!, and, of course, romance. (32k)
he could taste the stars by subtlehysteria

“It’s your choice, but you’re rotting away in here, Jean and no matter what she says, you can’t live in Abby’s spare bedroom forever. Time to start fighting again.”
Kevin’s hard and commanding tone was no surprise. The softness had been beaten out of him around the same time as Jean.
“What if I don’t want to anymore?”
Maybe it was because he had been half hidden in shadows-Jean had kept the shades drawn, but light still seeped in the cracks- but Jean thought he had seen something akin to understanding paint Kevin’s cool expression.“He’s gone. You survived. Play or don’t, it’s up to you, but you need to get out of this fucking house.”//Jean’s first year at USC. Jeremy falls hard, Jean comes around eventually. (55k)

After one of Alvarez’s pranks leaves the boys stranded in South Carolina after a game, they decide to take the long route home. (1.6k, chapters 1/?)

Jean Moreau is an exy player, not a writer. At least that’s what he thinks. His newfound therapist, however, has other ideas. Seeing as Jean refuses to talk to her in his hour-long therapy sessions, Ms. Dawson suggests perhaps writing down whatever he’s keeping inside. Jean can’t possibly see how he’s expected to write when he has nothing to write about. Then comes Jeremy Knox, in all his brightness and magnitude. Maybe, Jean thinks, he has something to write about. (7.2k, ch. 5/?)

Jeremy Knox is the owner of a tattoo parlor when Jean Moreau opens up a flower shop next door. Jeremy gets a crush, but thankfully Laila and Alvarez are there to play matchmaker, with the help of Renee. (14k, ch. 9/?)\
*leaving marks by blackcatiiix
In a world where your soulmate’s injuries appear as bruises on your skin, Jeremy is… struggling. And that’s even before he meets Jean Moreau. (46k, ch. 12/?)
*marrow without bone by exyfexyfoxes
Onscreen Jeremy didn’t hesitate, displaying an eagerness that translated well across television. “Yeah, I spoke to Jean earlier this week. He’s definitely done for the year but he’ll be back in the fall.”Then, impeccably, a twitch at the corner of his mouth. “He just won’t be back in black.“Jean’s eyes narrowed.
(The season hasn’t even started yet and Jeremy already wants to cut their newest player from the team. Making the switch from Raven to Trojan isn’t quite what Jean thought it would be.) (68k, ch. 18/20)
