Actor Meezaan Jafri who made his debut in 2019 with Sanjay Leela Bhansali's film Malaal is now set to experiment with comedy genre in Hungama 2. The film directed by Priyadarshan marks his return to Bollywood after seven years. The film also features Paresh Rawal, Shilpa Shetty, and Pranitha Subhash.

Talking about Priyadarshan in an interview to a tabloid, Meezaan said that comedy is the most difficult genre and Priyadarshan shoots it in a unique way. He said that no one except the director is aware of what is happening on the set. Meezaan said that when he spoke to Akshay Kumar on the sets of Sooryavanshi he advised the young actor to blindly follow Priyadarshan and expect things to turn out great.

Meezaan said that he agreed to do Priyadarshan's film without even listening to the script. The young actor said that he has a special connection with the filmmaker as his grandfather acted in Priyadarshan's first Hindi film Muskurahat.

In Hungama 2, Meezaan sports a completely different look from his first film and admits that people from the film fraternity failed to recognize him. The actor will also be recreating the popular track Main Khiladi Tu Anari chartbuster, ‘Chura Ke Dil Mera’, with Shilpa Shetty.

Shilpa Shetty is coming back to the screen after a long sabbatical. In the reboot of Hungama, Shilpa Shetty will be seen with Paresh Rawal and young actor Meezaan Jaaferi. It is a cult movie by Priyadarshan. Once again, veteran actor Paresh Rawal will be reprising his character Radheshyam Tiwari. In the original movie, we have seen Akshaye Khana, Abtab Shivdasani and Rimi Sen as the leads.

Now, South Indian actor Pranitha Subhash will be debuting in Bollywood with the movie Hungama 2 and it will be produced by Venus. For this movie, Paresh Rawal will be reuniting with director Priyadarshan after almost seven years. In the past, director-actor has worked together in the movies like Bhagam Bhaag, Hera Pheri and Malamaal Weekly.

Sharing the poster of Hungama 2, Paresh Rawal has tweeted “Ready for Confusion Unlimited? Through a press statement, director Priyadarshan has said “It’s been 17 years since Hungama released and it is still remembered by the audiences. I am happy to collaborate with producer Ratan Jain (Venus) yet again after Hulchul and Garam Masala and excited to bring back this laugh riot to the big screen with double laughter and entertainment.”

Previously, Priyadarshan has said about signing Shilpa Shetty “Hungama 2 will go on floors on January 6. For this role, I wanted an actor who has ruled the film industry as the character is integral. Shilpa plays a glamorous and the most hilarious character in the movie. She is paired opposite Paresh Rawal. We have titled the film Hungama 2 because it has funny situations arising from confusion and misunderstandings, and thus, has the spirit of Hungama.”

Sholay actor Jagdeep Jafri passes away, son Javed and family bid adieu to the actor

Veteran Bollywood actor Jagdeep who was fondly known for playing the role of Soorma Bhopali in Sholay has passes away. He was 81.

Reportedly, the actor had been suffering from age-related ailments. His last rites were performed by sons Jaaved Jaaferi and Naved Jafri and his grandson Meezaan. He was buried in a Mumbai cemetery on Thursday morning. Actor Johnny Lever also attended the last rites.

Jagdeep Jafri passes away

His original name was Syed Ishtiaq Ahmed Jafri. The actor has featured in around 400 films in his career spanning nearly sixty years. The last Hindi film he featured in remains Gali Gali Chor Hai, released in 2012, in which he played the role of a police constable.

The actor was recently given a Lifetime Achievement Award at IIFA.
