Also she loves her big Frankenstein's monster of a robot so much!

THIS SHOW IS SO GOOD OMG! I pray there will be more seasons I love it so much! The season was so action packed, and the animation was beautiful! So many scenes from this show could stand alone and be amazing!

Mech Cadets: Season 1 Episode 003 "Know Your Enemy"

This small piece of dialogue always fascinated even in my first watch of this amazing series.

Is this why Robos land on Earth? They aren't built/ meant for combat so they have to be bonded to humans. The Robos can't fight the Shargs on their own and physically require the assistance of humans.

Or do they truly go to Earth as act of help for humanity? The Robos know humans can't handle the Shargs on their own, so they do the selfless act of helping the humans.

I always had this other theory that is (barely) tangential to this one- The reason Robos bond with humans whose age are 16 is because Robos that bond with them are also young. Perhaps, the Robos who land on Earth are also 16 in their lifespan (???)

There aren't any evidence to this I just thought it could be something.

Binged all of Mech Cadets, immediately went to read the original comics. They do some some stuff better, some stuff worse. I feel like the show had more time to work the characters, Frank and Maya especially are much more interesting.

General Park is more likeable in the show, and Skip is more nuanced in the comics, but neither of these things is necessarily 'better' than the other version, they are different takes. The less nuanced Skip serves a different purpose, and does it well, same with the less likeable Park from the comics.

I thought the biggest change was HF-1. In the show, they never really address whether it's alive or not, there seems to be no emotional attachment on Olivia's part, where in the comics that attachment is a huge part of the story. Makes me wonder what plans they have for her future even more now.
