The transition with the finger snapping from that first image to Jentry in the chair to Jentry dancing is my favorite part of the intro, it flows so well!
I wanna share some of the drawings in the animatic I did that I liked; the one where Jentry is posing in the very beginning was totally a self indulgent drawing I did and McKenzie was like “We HAVE to put this in” so we did, and it stuck lol (we figured out a way for it to flow well with everything else too, with the hand move as a hook up into the next scene)
The kaleidoscope bit and the going through Michael’s eye and to kits eye were ideas I had as well and it was well received at the initial pitch, so we rolled with it and added to it with some of Yvonne’s pitches of scenes to continue the bit; I pitched how we might phase through each scene to continue the camera working through z space, and I think it turned out really well!
Guh I wanna do more shit like this it was so much fun
Although the kaleidoscope thing was hell to figure out, the amount to test drawings I had to do and give McKenzie to apply in order to figure out how to make it work? It was time consuming to say the least

I love every single second of The Owl House so so so much but watching what Jentry Chau could get away with makes me wonder what could have been if Disney weren't such cowards.
Same with Amphibia. The same action that caused a whole debacle with an episode being delayed and released later with a content warning there was used in Jentry Chau in episode 1 to set the tone of the story.
Idk Jentry Chau is obviously meant to feel very teenager, so it makes sense it would need to be edgier, and that allows it to get away with more stuff, but imagine if the Owl House had been able to lean harder on the body horror, necromancy, and demonic imagery like in the concept art stages

fucking jentry chau. just finished it.
god this show is amazing. the characters are insanely likable and just the right amount of messy i adore, the action is fantastic and well-directed, the drama and emotional moments are tense and well-earned, and overall it feels like the exact type of original teen action drama cartoon everybody's been begging studios to make in the past couple years with the rise of popularity in anime but now in the current landscape we practically have to be on our hands and knees so it doesn't get canceled because of some stupid shit like "the algorithm said so". so please spread the word about jentry chau. it's the best western cartoon we've gotten in a long time, and we need more of it and more like it

Jentry Chau was fun!
(Spoilers ahead!!)
Hope we get more seasons, though that's a very solid ending, which I really appreciated.
(we still need to find out what was going on with Michael's visions though, and it was mean to use the LAST SCENE to tease a wlw couple).

It's such a good title sequence!
Found a subreddit where someone clipped of the title sequence segment for show we worked on
Me, @pearl-likes-pi and Yvonne worked together on the title sequence animatic and the final turned out so well!
