I decided to rewatch Mr. Robot a few days ago since I dropped this show like two years ago. Like, I stopped at S4E4 with THAT cliffhanger with Tyrell in the woods that haunted me for months, if not half a year. And—

WHAT WAS I MISSING, MAN!

But, at some point, I was so confused, like…

ANOTHER ELLIOT?!

I was just sitting there like, WTF IS HAPPENING... WHAT THE HELL???

WHAT. AM. I. WATCHING.

Seriously, what a mindfuck moment. And of course, I had to make these memes.

(Oh, and that scene was so funnily EXACTLY—well, not 100%, but close enough—like that one from Salad Fingers with the two Salad Fingers in, guess what, Salad Fingers show LMAO)

Anyway.

The reveal of Elliot's real trauma was so heartbreaking to watch… :'( Poor thing, man. I kinda suspected something similar, though. It was the only explanation for why he avoided being touched. Ugh... :<

There are also a ton of cinematic parallels, and most (if not all) were definitely intentional. I think I might make a post about it later...

Like, Elliot at the end with his family? That was straight-up the Fight Club ending. And before that, when Elliot steps through that door? The Truman Show. Him sitting in the theater? Donnie Darko. The ending with him in the hospital bed? Gave me Requiem for a Dream flashbacks (might be a stretch, but still, lol). And there were some Matrix there and there, too. (ofc)

Also, I'm one of those people who believe Tyrell was the real Elliot. It's a popular theory that may or may not have already been debunked, but idgaf—I like it :>
