Hi! I love the idea of radar being selectively mute but I dont like the way you talk about it here.

I dont mean to be mean or anything but I had selective mutism untill like 9th grade and I dont think "just doesnt want to talk sometimes and thats it" and "just these days or weeks when he doesnt feel like talking" are even remotely what its like.

The main characteristic of selective mutism is being unable to speak in certain situations due to fear or anxiety. Theres nothing willful or deliberate about it and it almost never affects comfortable situations, for example at home. For me I wanted to communicate in a lot of situations, but I was too anxious and I freezed up. I mostly communicated through nodding, very quiet speaking, and vague hand gestures. Please do your research!

Let's think about Radar being selectively mute.

It doesn't necessarily means he won't talk at all, but sometimes it's just these days or weeks, when he doesn't feel like talking. He would prefer to communicate through ASL.

Surely it's not because he can be bullied for his voice or because he isn't confident enough, he just doesn't want to talk sometimes and that's it.
