An interesting choice that I wish Rick expanded on was the fact that Frey was there in Magnus's dream about Kvasir in SotD

Because in case it wasn't clear (seriously, Rick should of showed the rest of the myth) the scene where Kvasir is picking out a piece of net from a fire is from the binding/chaining of Loki myth.

And in the book it shows Frey, Heimdall, Odin and Kvasir being assumedly present for Loki being bound so by extension the death of Narvi and Vali.

but in myth it's actually: Kvasir, Thor and a bunch of unnamed gods.

I'm assuming Ricky boy chose those gods because they were already previously introduced and he doesn't need to spend time on Magnus figuring out who's what god from context clues.

But gods, choosing Frey specifically opens up some fun stuff with Loki and Magnus. And also give Maggie some of that demigod daddy issues.

Can someone please expand on this for me I cant quite articulate how to explain what fun stuff this opens up

You’re the one that put me here after I came back. Something about it was the only place you could convince Odin and Hel to keep me, since I didn’t die with a weapon in my hand while I was being mauled to death saving my son. She’s alright most of the time though, and I enjoy playing with the cats.
