(Secret husband au) I forgot what episode it was, but I remember Mumbo asking Grian where he got his sweater abd he jokingly said he was born with it. What if Scar knitted that sweater and Grian wears it as a way to keep him close and "feel his warm hugs". (Also thinking that in one of the seasons, Grian knits/crochet Scar a blanket so he could also feel Grian's hugs when he's running low on spoons that day and needs to rest. (Of course Bdubs thinks that Scar probably stole the blanket since it smells like Grian's cologne-)

scar had to make him a new one when they reunited after evo, and grian spent all of season 6 making scar a blanket in return. scar likes to bring the blanket back and forth depending on which base they sleep in because while he loves the blanket, he loves snuggling with grian in it. and it makes the blanket feel that much warmer on those harder days

bdubs def thinks scar stole it. scar had it in his mayor office a few times because he missed his husband and bdubs smelled grian on it. that’s the last straw for him, he is so done with them /affectionate. he’s getting those two together

The sound of pages turning and rustling echoed through the main room of town hall-the scratching of a pen joining on occasion. Scar, the beloved mayor, is reclined on his diamond throne looking over a contract. With a huff, he clips his pen to the clipboard and sets it against the thrones armrest. He leans back against the throne while gently rubbing his sore eyes, hips shifting forward at the adjustment.

A muffled groan accompanies the shift, vibrating Scars cock lightly and sending a shiver up his spine. Oh right, Scar almost forgot that he wasn’t alone-Mother Spore was here to keep him company.

See, Grian, or rather, Mother Spore walked right into town hall maybe 2 hours ago; Clearly coming straight from the resistance headquarters. He didn’t speak as he pulled the ribbon holding his mushroom cap, letting it fall to the floor, and trudged up the stairs of the diamond throne to kneel between the knees of the mayor. Scar saw the fatigued look on his beloved's face and set his paperwork aside to give Mother Spore a small kiss on the forehead. They made eye contact as he pulled away, Mother Spores hands settled near Scars crotch, brow slightly raised in a silent request. The mayor nodded with a small smile.

It only took a few seconds before Scars dick was down Mother Spores throat, nose just barely touching unruly pubes. Their eyes slid closed and their body slowly relaxed. Ah, so it was this sort of evening; one filled with the simple desire to be close and submit for a while without the need to reach any orgasms. Scar ran his fingers through Mother Spore's hair softly as he settled, and then returned to his paperwork for the next few hours.

At this point, Scar has finished his paperwork and figures it’s best to get both of them to bed, they’ve been here almost 3 hours after all. He taps Grians nose lightly in warning before he pulls out and stuffs his dick back into his pants. His husband slowly blinks up at Scar before pushing himself up into the mayors lap, legs tossed over the armrest. They nuzzle into Scars throat as he wraps his arms under Grian and stands.

The two travel through the nether and make it back to Scars home in the Magic Forest, barely stopping for Scar to toe his shoes off by the door. Once his shoes are off, Scar beelines to the bedroom. The moment he’s next to the bed, he lays Grian down gently before starting to remove the avian’s boots. As Scar is setting the boots in the closet, Grian wakes up slightly and rolls onto his side to observe his husband. His eyes are squinted as he watches Scar change out of his mayoral outfit, humming in appreciation when the man’s back is exposed. The mayor glances back at the sound with a small smile, preening a bit at the attention. Quickly he swaps his boxers for sweats and returns to Grian’s side.

Scar tugs lightly at one of the skirt ruffles, “Want some help out of that dress, dove?”

“Pleeeaase, it’s itchy,” Grian groans, flopping onto his front.

“Yessir!”

Within moments, Scar has every ribbon untied and is pulling fabric off of Grian’s body, leaving him in nothing but socks and boxers. Scar goes to hang the dress in the closet as Grian shucks off the socks with his feet, not even hesitating to burrow under the blankets of the bed.

When Scar returns to the bed, only the top of the blonde's head is visible under the blanket. The mayor chuckles as he climbs in next to Grian, immediately wrapping his arms around their waist and tucking his face into their hair while Grian nuzzle back into Scars neck. Safe. Warm.

The charity stream has given us so many things to focus on and my brain is so fried, but I’m feeling super nostalgic when I see them out in old skins, both “official” role skins (Mayor Scar) and joke skins (wide Grian), because I remember seeing them wear those skins and I remember the memories associated with them. It’s like, All Stars Hermitcraft. And I love them giving the spotlights to individual hermits and sending their viewers over to them, each hermit with their joke / gimmick, like Banana False. It feels very affectionate and nostalgic. It’s like “Hey! Remember this funny thing from a few seasons ago? We’re bringing them back!” All of these bits and pieces are what make Hermitcraft, well, Hermitcraft. The jokes and the history being built up over the years🥺

okay so i thought of some (season 8) headcanons? mostly boatem crew + a few others bc that's who i mostly watch,,, anyway, in no particular order:

- Etho and BDubs have gotten into the habit of riding the paths together in the late afternoons after working on their horse course. Etho gets updates on all of the Big Eye Crew's exciting drama, while BDubs nods along to Etho's lighthearted complaining about his roommate

- After spending so much time living in the Shopping District last season (being mayor, and all) Scar had gotten used to very little background noise when sleeping. Now that he's living in a giant, constantly running machine, he's slowly getting used to white noise when going to bed again. in a weird way, it reminds him of those first few months of living in the jungle, and that memory is pleasant, so he doesn't mind the adjustment too much

- Doc still stops by the Goatem Pole to feed his goats that live there. It's a relaxing thing to do when he's not busy breaking the server with Ren (though he's not worried about them too badly - Pearl promised to keep a close eye on them if he's ever gone for too long)

- Grian is regularly found half-asleep in strange places. it's resulted in several pranks, but usually he's just bewildered to always find himself in a new bed wherever he happens to have dozed off (there's a running bet to see how long it takes for him to realize that it's Pearl helping him out each time)

- Pearl and Cub are neighbors this season! they were both unsure of the other's build styles at first, but once they both realized that they had a tendancy to build big, now they swap ideas all the time.

- Mumbo has stumbled across Impulse hanging out at the top of his mega base many times. they sit and chat about their various projects, and talk each other through any tricky technical issues they might be having.

- Ren, much like any large dog, enjoys napping in the sun, which makes him easy to find whenever Doc goes looking. Sometimes, despite their little rivalry, Grian invites Ren over to his starter base, and the Boatem Crew + Doc have found them napping together in the sun from Grian's giant windows

I love the idea that Pearl always puts Grian to bed. Usually all the hermits try to help each other, especially since they’ve all fallen asleep in weird places at some point, but Pearl has claimed Grian for herself. She cares about him a lot since they’ve worked together for so long, so nobody worries about Grian anymore, knowing Pearl is likely nearby

And Rendog!!! Any time we can see Ren with dog tendencies I fall in love a little more. Imagine him on his back in the grass, stretching and sighing happily as the sun warms up his belly 🥺

Hi 👉👈 never thought I'd send an ask to the famous mochiwrites, but I've been following your last life au very closely and while I usually put comments under fics, I feel like I just need to gush about it over here.

Or well, mostly gush about you and your writing. Bc holy damn, your metaphors are on point, like, the burning one? How you don't feel Grian and Scar are in a codependent relationship while still being so bluntly clear it's what it is? How hurt you feel for Grian when Scar pushes him away but how hurt you feel when Scar is just so afraid?

You're making my brainworms twirl with ideas and I am just squealing at every chapter. I'm not sure if you're the one who wrote that mumscarian Crime AU with Scar being the mayor and stuff, but if you are, just wanted to let you know your writing is very inspiring and even when I don't have the energy to read that AU anymore, it was always magical when reading it and the story beats were so carefully placed, you can tell you spent a lot of time and energy writing it.

but ueueueue writing last life au has been so enjoyable and grian and scar’s emotions and thoughts are so complex. it’s the perfect wheelhouse for metaphors :D

it’s like the two of them are in a game of tug a war right now in that grian is trying to be close, but scar is pushing him back, yet pulling him close because he’s so desperate for human connection and the fact that it’s grian makes it mean so much more — whether he’s from a different game or not. scar is terrified of grian betraying him because that’s all he’s known throughout last life, so he protects himself. and grian is struggling with being in a space where he doesn’t have scar’s trust but wants it while still grieving and guilty.

their codependency is there but not in your face and it comes down to one (1) simple fact. grian and scar would be worse off without each other. even if they aren’t on the same page, even if grian hasn’t earned scar’s trust, and even if scar is afraid of grian leaving him. they’re reaching for each other trying to hold on and AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

okay okay so same anon who asked about them being sick here!

thinking about grian being sick and scar going above and beyond to make sure grian’s got everything he could possibly need. oh, they’re out of soup? scar leaves and comes back with like 50 cans of it, along with just about every fever medication he can find.

grian, delirious from fever, asks scar to stay with him? scar cancels all his meetings, mayor be damned, and refuses to leave the bed all day (except for the soup debacle)

mumbo is the slightly more sensible one in this sjdksjdhd, he actually makes the soup and keeps the house from turning into a disaster zone

mmmight be slightly self-indulgent (and based off the fact that my qpp gives me massages), but I've been thinking about this for ages. So crime au Scar, Grian, and Mumbo all have very stressful jobs, right? Probably have tense muscles! What if,,, they just gave each other little massages? nothing big,, just little neck rubs, or working the knots out of shoulder joints,,, if i haven't convinced you yet have some examples: -grian at scar's office, scar's doing paperwork or something idk what mayors do, and grian notices scar's furrowed brow, tense shoulders and just,,, gives him a little shoulder massage (plus the trust that comes with grian's hands so close to scar's neck...) -mumbo noticing grian's jaw is set and his back is stiff and later during movie night he makes sure to work on slowly massaging the anxiety out of Grian's muscles. Occasionally playing with his hair, but mostly massage. -scar seeing mumbo looking even more anxious than usual and giving him some massages, kneading out the knots in mumbo's muscles,,, i am soft about this Sincerely, Explosive Anon (who loves their qpp very much) P.S. sorry this turned out a bit long :p hope i convinced you but it's fine if you don't like the idea obviously, it's your au.
