anyways, here's a doodle of Mayline during the incident

so TW for many a sensitive subject about Mayline, but this was the person that kidnapped Dorian when he was in the later stages of 18 until about a month after he turned 19

TW: Kidnapping, delusions (involving weird fucked up incest type thoughts?, like she's genuinely sick ), (spinal) injury

When Dorians parents moved into the neighbourhood he was raised in, they very quickly met a young Mayline. She was around 23, and pregnant, as was Dorian's mother. Mayline, sadly at the time, miscarried in the later stages of her pregnancy. She only seemed to get through it by accompanying Dorian's mother through the rest of her pregnancy. She would 'joke' about how Dorian was now also her baby too.

Dorian's mother died, shortly after giving birth to Dorian, due to complications to do with childbirth.

In her grief, she rationalised that the baby she miscarried was now being raised by the new mother and friend she had lost- so it was now her responsibility to help raise Dorian.

This started twisting, as delusions do, until she came to believe that, somehow, the souls of Dorian and her baby were meant to be swapped. Dorian was always meant to be hers and her baby was always meant to actually be with Dorian's mother. Her dying was simply returning things to how they should've been.

Thus, she did actually help Dorian's father raise him. She was basically that neighbour you call your aunt as a kid.

As time went on, she became more and more obsessive over Dorian. She wanted to treat him as her actual child and honestly, it creeped him out. So, Dorian would begin to pull away at about age 9, basically never seeing her except to wave at her by age 12.

She didn't know how to deal with this so pretty much just started stalking him. Watching him go home from school, taking photos of him when she could simply " to have a memento ". She would begin to try to steal items from him, things he wouldn't miss.

As time went on, some wires got crossed in her head and she became convinced that Dorian was also supposed to be her soul mate, because who else would understand someone so completely than someone who was raised by another.

She kidnapped Dorian at age 18, and attempted to convince him it was because she had to make up for lost time of raising and loving him. Because she had to raise him to be the perfect partner, her soulmate, that she knew he could be.

The one time he tried to escape, she tried to inflict a spinal injury in the hopes that he wouldn't be able to walk again.

He decided to keep it from her that this didn't work.

It wasn't even police who discovered what had happened. It was repo men, because she hadn't been paying bills coming to take what they were owed.
