A Reason To Come Back! Shanks (OPLA) Part 2
Reader is a mermaid who washed up close to death in Luffy's village and made a home for themselves. Shanks comes back and tries to convince y/n to join his crew. Shanks x Female Reader.
Part 1
Y/N
'Then join my crew!' Shanks said in a carefree manner.
That was four months ago, you didn't quite believe Shanks would go through with his promise, so you said yes.
After that first meeting, you went back to the tavern with Shanks to meet the rest of his crew, after stopping at your house to get some dry clothes. Shanks had so many questions about mermaids just like Luffy did and you tried to answer all of them. Maybe Luffy was right about him being a good guy, he gave off the vibe of someone you could trust but wouldn't want to cross.
You were nervous meeting the rest of his crew since pirates were primarily male, but they quickly put you at ease and were amazed at just how much booze you could put away, turns out that was a pro of being a mermaid. One of the newer crew tried to hit on you and it was then you revealed apparently what Shanks suspected when he heard you laugh, and that was your ability to compel. Let's just say the rest of the crew would never let the guy live down the humiliation you put him through.
Before he went to bed Shanks told Luffy of the promise he'd made to you. At first, the boy was upset that you wouldn't be joining his crew but was happy you'd both be pirates one day.
It did feel nice to let loose, laugh and have fun around others. And Shanks kept his eye on you the whole night. Maybe returning to the sea one day might just happen for you. You sketched a rough drawing of the jolly roger you'd seen during your escape, and it turned out Shanks and his crew didn't like that crew already so were all on board to help you.
During those four months, you kept yourself busy, fishing, helping around the village and keeping an eye on Luffy. You also had started putting things aside in case Shanks kept his promise and you had to join his crew which didn't seem that bad.
Today you'd just finished swimming and were returning to your house when you saw a familiar red-haired pirate sitting on your porch.
'SHANKS!' you call out.
SHANKS
I should have known y/n wouldn't be at home. They weren't in town when we arrived so I assumed they were swimming in the cove. Other than Luffy and myself no one else had been to the cove to see her mermaid form, it was her private space.
'SHANKS!' y/n calls out.
I look up to see the red-haired girl walking up the path towards me smiling and dripping wet. It was very unusual to see someone with the same hair colour as myself but y/n explained mermaids either got the colour from their mother or father or could get a mixture of both but y/n got her mother's red hair and tail.
I stand up and embrace y/n, who hugs me back. She was a lot smaller than me, but that didn't mean you should underestimate her, 'I told you I'd come back. You get younger each time I see you.'
y/n blushes at the compliment and playfully shoves me back, 'How old do you think I am Shanks?'
My face drops, this was a trap women liked to set to trip men up, 'err I don't know maybe early twenties.'
y/n grins, 'Such a charmer, we're the same age Shanks, mermaids just age slower and appear more youthful.'
I was shocked by her answer but also relieved. I said the early twenties to not sound awful when y/n could easily pass for eighteen or nineteen. At least we wouldn't have a kid on the crew with us.
'I didn't come to ask your age y/n, I came because I have something for you.'
y/n tilts their head and their eyes widen, 'what do you have for me? How's the arm by the way? Still getting used to only having one?'
Before leaving last time I'd lost my arm rescuing Luffy. I had no regrets and would do it again. It was tough but I was slowly adapting.
'Some days are harder than others but it will take time,' I reply honestly.
I reach behind me and under my cloak pull a wrapped-up piece of black fabric before handing it to y/n. y/n slowly unwraps the fabric and gasps loudly.
'You did it Shanks...this is the jolly roger I saw...thank you...' y/n stumbles over their words, tears pricking their eyes, 'what happened?'
It warmed my heart to see her get happy and emotional staring at the flag belonging to the ship that killed her family, 'they had a lot of enemies, and my crew simply pinned them against each other until they were no more. You're free to return to the sea y/n.'
y/n puts the flag down and throws themselves at me, causing me to grunt at the sudden impact but y/n wasn't that heavy so I was able to catch her as she hugged and clung onto me, 'you kept your end up so I'll keep mine, looks like I'm joining your crew Shanks.'
I laugh and put y/n down, 'Welcome to The Red Hair Pirates. I think you'll fit in nicely.'
It turned out that y/n was already packed, ready for the day to arrive. The rest of the crew and Luffy were waiting at the tavern, so we headed down there with y/n's belongings.
'I'M GOING TO MISS YOU SO MUCH Y/N!' Luffy shouts in y/n's face as soon as we enter the tavern, but y/n simply smiles and ruffles his hair not fazed by the loudness.
'I'm going to miss you more,' y/n replies and squeezes his cheek.
I clear my throat behind them and they both look up at me, 'What about me Luffy, won't you miss me?'
Luffy grins like an idiot, 'Of course, I'll miss you Shanks, you made me want to become a pirate but how many mermaids am I going to meet in my life?'
y/n sniggers, 'and since I'm now a pirate mermaid I guess you're number two in his eyes Shanks or should I say, captain.'
I roll my eyes but embrace the situation. Things were going to be a lot more interesting with y/n on the crew.

Their time together was always limited. They either had class to pay attention to, a small lunch period, and her study hall never seemed to line up with his. they had an hour or two after school to sneak away to the library or hit the convenience store for a snack or two, but it was never long enough ( in his opinion). walking her home was a difficult situation in itself. either he had to stop a few streets over and watch awkwardly as she walked the rest of the way home, or stand on the steps of the library (like an idiot) pretending he didn’t know her as a car came around for her.
It was getting annoying. it was even more annoying when his friends girlfriends came around. They talked on about going to the theater or the arcade, or whatever dance was coming up. It only made Riff feel more upset simply because he wasn’t able to do those things with Johanna. Mack had once suggested that maybe she was ashamed of him, maybe that’s why she didn’t do anything with him or them. Riff had landed himself in detention from the way he had yelled at her in response.
“Maybe I want to pay for you.” He snarked back, ‘ ‘t’s how dates work, Jo. Guy pays for his girl.” Not that any of their dates had met with the conventional tradition that dating required. He got what he wanted most out of her guardian’s business trip: more time.
“Well, um,” He faltered, his excited expression at the prospect of going out began to sag under her protests, “I’ve only ever been to the Burger King.” he said after a while, perhaps a bit defeated, “Figured we could look at the guide in the mall maybe. Or walk up and down main street. Pick something out maybe.” he shrugged, “ I saw an ad for cheery pie at Perkins.”
He looked down at his feet as she talked, nodding along, trying to be understanding and perhaps not bitter about the suggestion being turned down. “ No, no, we can do somethin’ else.” He said without looking up, “Maybe…you want to come over? We could just, eat there instead maybe. Save money ‘n’ all..”
she can't help feeling bad about it. if it weren't for her, maybe he would have a girlfriend who could go out and do things with him. go on dates -- normal ones -- on the weekends. see a movie. go to dinner. instead they have to dance around her guardian, pretending like she doesn't try to hold his hand in the hallways at school.
she listened to his tangent on how dates work with her focus on the ground beneath her feet. ❝ i think that's stupid. ❞ not something she would often say in the face of tradition. her guardian's traditionalist ideals should have trickled down to her and have in the past, but now that she's in this position, it sounds ridiculous. traditions are for those who can afford them. ❝ i think whoever can afford it should pay. that way neither party is broke. the girl should pay if that's more reasonable. ❞
lips turn into a small smile as johanna looks back up at him. imagine the look on her guardian's face if he caught her with riff at burger king. judging by the name alone, she knows it won't feel safe enough for her though. she's never liked pie either. not the savory flaws her guardian demands poor mrs. eastman make or the sweeter ones. though, hostess sweet pies are a guilty pleasure of hers. not that anyone else knows that but riff.
❝ do you have enough? for both of us? ❞ not that she eats very much ( he knows that ). what would be even worse would be eating everything in his pantry, especially when they're trying to save up for the vague day where they run away from here. ❝ i don't want to eat everything you have. i don't have anything left over from lunch. you'd be sacrificing your kitchen for this. we need to be saving money. ❞
#riff: just wants to take her out like they're a normal high school couple#johanna: proceeds to make it even more difficult for him to take her out#*❈ ‣ how is it that you sing anything? — ( interaction. )#*❈‣ how can you jubilate sitting in cages never taking wing? — ( v. hawkins )#heygutlcss#also the editors were being freaking weird with this post so feel free to move it to a new one

━ tape recorder; 00
synopsis; wilbur turns on the camera and, while his family is out, decides to begin the story
contains; awkward wilbur, one(1) mention of sexual assault (hand on readers ass), swearing, unedited
word count; 1k
note; so glad to start this !! :)) hope you enjoy <3
m.list : next part
scraping against the wooden floor was the first thing to hear along with incoherent muttering. the camera shifted, and then shifted again, to reveal wilbur soot. he sat on a red cover, the brunette clearing his throat as he took his hands away from the camera.
"uh, so," he started. "i'm wilbur. wilbur soot. and this is the start of the recordings of me trying to date my best friend, who i've known practically since birth. they're ... god, how do i even explain someone so perfect?" he paused, a smile spreading across his face, before he realized how lovesick he sounded.
he ran a hand over his face, groaning. "i am down so bad." he paused, sighing before he gave the camera a small chuckle. "but maybe because it's them, it's okay. but anyways, back to them. [name] is ... wonderful. they're just ... i don't even know how to describe it without sounding like an idiot in love."
his knee bounced rapidly as he looked for the right words, chuckling once more. "i sound so awkward and weird, but i swear, if you met them, it'd be like meeting an angel. and i usually mess with them, just because their reactions are cute, but i'll tell them one day how much they mean to me. one day."
wilbur clapped and, with a grin, looked straight at the camera. "but that's why you're here! because maybe this will help me work up the courage to ask them out, like a diary or something. techno has a diary, but it's pretty lame. but - but anyways! if i'm gonna talk to you like this, then you should know the whole story."
he leaned back on his hands, staring up at the ceiling before looking back at the camera. "so, i met them when i was little. i don't remember meeting them, since i was like two, but dad says we got along really well. like, we were attached to the hip by three. i think dad and their dad are still friends ... but besides that, yeah. that's how we met.
"it's not the most grand story, but it's us. and i like us," he grinned. "but i think i started like them, as far back as i can remember, when i was six or seven. we were having a playdate, over at my house or theirs i can't rmemeber, but we were playing with something; dolls or dinosaurs, i can't remember.
"and then we - we were just playing, when they picked up a flower. or it was a weed, now that i look back on it, but it's the thought that counts. but they handed me the flower, weed or whatever, and asked if we could get married when we got older. and, of course, i took the flower and said yes. it's no wonder why i remember that day so clearly."
wilbur sat in thought for a moment, sighing as he stared up at the ceiling. he shifted to lay back on his elbows, humming. "one of the most memorable moments was last year, back in our junior year. we were fighting about something, i'll always remember how upset they looked when i was being a dick, but i can't remember what.
"and at this party, we had both went but had stayed away from each other, this guy was being a douchebag to [name]. like, wouldn't leave them alone and kept making sexual comments. and, when i had heard about it, i was pissed. like, man, i was seeing red. i just got so mad, and when i saw the guy with his hand on [name]'s ass, i got even more pissed.
"like, i ran up to them and just punched the guy square in his jaw. i think i broke it. no one ever went to the cops, probably out of fear, but it was really fortunate for me. [name] had brought me outside and was scolding me for punching that asshole while i was just trying to calm down. and then they just ... hugged me."
wilbur ran a hand through his hair, getting somewhat agitated just thinking about that night again. "sorry, that guy really pissed me off. but they just hugged me, and i think we hugged for maybe like ten minutes. i wasn't mad anymore when we let go, and they weren't mad at me either. it was one of those nights where i was so lucky to have them."
he smiled, clapping his hands once more. "and everyday they prove that i'm so lucky to have them. and i love them more and more everyday. i just hope they share the same feelings for me." he laughed, scratching the back of his neck. "or else this will just be something tommy and techno will use to tease me when he's older."
he shook his head at his siblings, a small smile on his face. wilbur smiled, and with another sigh, he ran his hands through his hair. "maybe i'm being crazy, but this could be something to show [name] when we're older. whether we're dating or not."
silence filled the room, the camera going in and out of focus for a moment. wilbur stared at something that laid at the back of his bed, a canvas. it was a drawing of two stick figures, one with messy brown hair and the other with [color] hair. the one with [color] hair held a flower, smiling as it handed it to the messy haired one.
"[name] drew that when we were kids," he commented, a fond smile stretching across his face as he admired the drawing. "it sounds weird, but i've kept it ever since she gave it to me. maybe since we were eight or nine. weird how two stick figures can hold so much meaning to me."
wilbur looked back towards the camera and, with a lazy smile, spoke. "well, that's it. the beginning of how i'm going to get [name] to be my partner, despite how cheesy it sounds. i have to end this now or else tommy will come in and ask what i'm doing. bloody kid."
the brunette got up from his bed, waving at the camera as he stopped the recording and turned it off. he tucked it into his desk, sighing. "let's see how this will work out," he muttered, leaning back in his chair. the front door opened and wilbur chuckled.
"just on time."

Golden Thread (Remus Lupin)
Soulmate AU
Warning:- Minor mention of injury, otherwise fluff.
Word count:-3k
A/N:- the collage was made by me, I tried guys, I really did but it's a mess. You will find the audio of the song that inspired this one shot at the starting. invisible string by Taylor Swift, you will find some references to lyrics too, point them out and tell me! All the gif and photos belong to their respective owners, i got them from pinterest. The italics are the previous events happened between Remus and Reader. enjoy read!
Remus Lupin had never thought that there would come a day, he would be finally have the perfect life. All his life he had thought that he didn't deserved the love people around him gave, he always thought that they were only taking pity on him, they didn't really wanted to be with him. It was all until you came into his life. Remus was in a daze that how the mere presence of you had brought him such a peace.
You both were currently sitting in front of fireplace of Gryffindor common room just reading from your respective books, glancing at each other between some moments. The common room was quite at the time with the only sound of small voices of other students talking, and the fire crackling.
Remus looked up and saw you smiling a bit, he saw that you were biting your lip to stop yourself from smiling completely, he really wanted to know what was making you smile so much but chose to enjoy the silence between you both, which was mostly rare.
Slowly, he shifted himself in a way that he was now sitting next to you, he saw your eyes flicker a bit, that made him know that you actually noticed him changing his position. No matter how much people bully Sirius and James for wanting attention all the time, Remus was no different. The only difference was he did that with people he was most comfortable. So, to get your attention, he leaned his head on your shoulder and his fingers slowly threaded themselves with your fingers. He looked down and saw the same golden thread, that connected both of you. A smile graced his face, and when he looked up at your face, you were smiling too.
The simple twist of your lips made Remus' heart flutter, he nuzzle his face in the crook of your neck and kissed the side of your neck. A smirk made its way on Remus' lips when he heard you take a sharp breath. He kissed the side of your neck once again but this time you sighed in content which made Remus' smile. You sighed again, raising your hand to through his hair, you asked,
"Remus, what do you want?"
"Attention."
Your hand stopped massaging his head which earned you a whine, choosing to ignore it, you turned to your side and made him face you, holding his face in your hands. Remus pouted because of the new position but smiled when you kissed him on the tip of his nose. He in return took your hands in his and kissed the back of them.
When your hands connected, a thread of gold formed around them, making your heart flutter.
The soulmate thread.
Legends say that you are destined one is signed to you on your birth. An invisible string is attaching you both till you both meet and accept your love for each other. And once who accept your feelings, the first ime your hands connect, a golden thread ties you to each other and after that it's always there when your hands connect.
That invisible string just connects you both, it doesn't change your destiny, it doesn't stop you to love someone else, it gives you clue from time to time whenever you are with them but in the end it's you that has to find the love in your destined one and accept it, until then you are on your own.
You had always felt a connection towards Remus, since the day you met him for the first time, under a tree near black lake with green grass spead around you and your eyes on the book with complete focus. You were so focused that you never noticed someone making their way towards you.
Suddenly you were startled by a black dog jumping on you, with so much force that your book flew out of your hand and landed the grass. Looking up you saw a blur of teal, shaking your head, you focused again on the image in front of you and saw Remus standing there with an apologetic look on his face. Of course you knew him, the sweet and kind prefect, and a marauder.
Your eyes shifted and you found the same black dog, wagging his tail happily. You narrowed your eyes at the dog, and saw his mouth twist in a way that almost made you think it was a smirk. Someone cleared their throat and looking up you saw Remus staring at you.
"I am sorry for the inconvenience."
You shook your head, and said,
"No problem, I think your dog was just in a playful mood."
The dog wagged his tail more and you saw Remus glare at him and mumble something along, 'I am going to murder you.' You weren't quite sure why would Remus think of doing so, because to you, the dog was really cute.
"He's really cute." You said, raising your hand to pet him on the head. The dog nuzzled his nose in your hand which made you grin. Remus snorted at your words,
"Yeah, and a pain in arse."
The dog whined at his words, you were quite confused how he understood what Remus said but you thought it might be due to training. You wouldn't know a thing about a pet, since you had none for yourself. The dog laid his head on your lap, while nudging you to pet him. You laughed lightly before running your hand on his head.
Remus' mind was mess at the moment. He was feeling a lot of things at the same moment. Anger at Sirius' antics, flustered for first time actually talking to you, happy because telling the Marauders worked ( even though Sirius was making him mad ). Remus had been noticing since the start of year but never did he ever got the courage to talk to you. It was, as if something was pulling him towards you.
Remus actually hadn't accepted his feeling towards you, to him, it was just urge to make a new friend after he saw you helping the first year in the corridor at the start of year. He had cursed himself for the whole day, that why hadn't he seen you before.
Remus crouched down at and petted Padfoot on his head. Remus was about to say something to you but before he could he saw a look on your face staring behind him, the same look James had on his face when he talked about Lily. He looked behind him and saw a fifth year from Ravenclaw. He knew that person, the last time Remus had crush on someone, before he could confess his feelings for them, they got together with the Ravenclaw.
He turned back to look at you, to find your eyes cast downwards, at Padfoot. Clearing his throat, he got your attention, he smiled softly,
"You like them, don't you? The Ravenclaw?"
You nodded then frowned a little,
"How doest it matter? They already found the one. Look, the golden thread."
And indeed there was a golden thread formed between his previous crush and the Ravenclaw. He sighed and turned back to you, you smiled softly which he returned with one. A silence fell between you two as you both of you petted Padfoot. Remus thought that he should say something but he didn't know what, so he said the first thing that came to his mind,
"Y-You don't need to be upset about it. T-There might be someone waiting for you, someone who is connected to you by the invisible string. That person might be faraway, or might be just talking to you right now."
Before he could stop himself the words were out of his mouth. He felt Padfoot shift in his position, definitely due to his wordings. He knew if Padfoot could right now, would laugh at his flustered state. Remus took a deep, breath closing his eyes, he turned towards you and started babbling apologies,
"I-I am s-so sorry! I-I didn't meant to— I didn't want to— I don't—"
He stopped when he heard your laugh, he opened his eyes to be just blown away by the beauty in front of him. To him, you were perfect even with all those imperfect things. Remus' heart almost leapt out of his chest, from the beautiful sight.
"I am so sorry, you look so cute when you are flustered." You said between laughs. You took deep breaths and calmed yourself a bit then said,
"Time, time is a mystical thing, it will wound you and heal you, itself. I know what you meant Remus."
Remus found himself deep in thoughts before—
"How do you know my name?"
He saw something cross in your eyes by chose to not question. You suddenly got awkward and a bit nervous. He thought he made mistake by saying that, and the glare Padfoot was sending towards him didn't help. You laughed somewhat nervously and said,
"I- It's going to sound creepy, b-but I actually noticed you...You know! You are so smart, and kind and..." You trailed off to see him trying to supress his smile but it was evident how bad he wanted to smile.
You stomach erupted into butterflies with the simple gesture, you bit your own lip to supress your smile.
Padfoot looked between you two, looking like lovesick teenagers— ( doesn't matter if you are teenagers, you still look like one ). He sighed and shook in his head which definately got unnoticed by you, so he ended up whining to get both of you to pay him some attention.
You thought that maybe Remus would never talk to you but that was not the case. You both started to meet more frequently, whether it was in the presence of other Marauders. Though a question was bothering you a lot, so when you asked Remus that how was he allowed to have a dog as a pet and where that dog was now, you just earned yourself a laugh from Marauders and a cute, almost smirking smile from Remus.
After sometime, you started to notice Remus' monthly disappearance, when you'd ask him, he would just brush it off. You knew your limits, but there was something that kept you pulling towards him, like you wanted all of him, you wanted him at his best or at his worst. You were pretty sure after some time that your feeling towards him weren't actually friendly anymore.
Remus on the other hand was facing the same problem, except he wasn't ready to accept the feelings towards you. He wanted to let it go, he didn't want to be heartbroken when he find outs your hands finally got tied to a golden thread that wasn't connecting to his. The only option to him was to push down his feelings.
The full moon was approaching, and you were getting suspicious again, if it hadn't been the stress of exams, you would have made him to tell you the truth. Or at least that's what he thought. You noticed again how he almost every day had a headache, the bags under his eyes got deeper, how he seemed irritated always.
So, sitting in library, you were contemplating to ask him but his eyes were pooling from pain and irritation. Slowly putting your hand on his, you made him look at you, he gave you a smile, but you noticed how forced it looked.
"Remus...are you alright?"
He hummed a little then said,
"What makes you think I am not?"
"I don't know, the bags under your eyes, the irritation in your eyes, your headache—"
"Alright, alright. I get it." He laughed a little then looked at you, smiling softly. You stared in his green eyes before leaning down and pressing a feather light kiss on his cheek. You straightened up and left without any other word.
Remus' hand raised and touched the part where just moments ago your lips were. His heart was thumping in his chest and he suddenly found himself feeling giddy, his cheeks were getting heated and he was still staring at the spot where you were standing moments ago.
As if on cue, James, Peter and Sirius entered the library and made their way to Remus. When they noticed the lovesick expression, they knew that you must have gone just before their arrival. Peter nudged Remus' shoulder and said,
"Moony, I think you should tell Y/N."
But Remus just turned and gave Peter a death glare for breaking his daydream. Sirius snickered but was silenced by James' glare, the latter bent down and touched Remus' forehead from the back of his hand and asked,
"How are you feeling Moony?"
Remus shrugged and replied,
"Fine, I guess..."
And started working on work in front of him. He was going to miss classes again.
The full moon approached a lot earlier then Remus would have liked, in fact, if it was upto him, the full moon would never be there. But who can defy the fate? The pain was destined for him.
So, again the Marauders made their way to the Shrieking Shack to help Moony. The night went on without any kind of difficulty, only a scratch here or there and the next thing they know, the moon was setting down to let sun spread its warmth.
To say you were tense would be an understatement. You were panicking. You had found Peter on your way to Great Hall in the morning and when you asked him about Remus, he said,
"In Hospital Wing." Perhaps he didn't understand the severity of situation that if you find out you would raise a hell, that why Remus of all people, had to suffer this.
Entering the Hospital Wing you found, the other two Marauders around Remus' bed. They all were whispering amongst themselves about something. But you didn't give a thought to it and marched towards Remus' bed.
They finally seemed to notice you and their eyes widen when they saw you. Remus looked on the verge of panicking before you soften your gaze and made your way towards his side, opposite to James and Sirius. You took Remus' face in four hands, your heartbreaking at the sight,
"Oh Remus..."
His body was littered with scars, most of which seemed fresh, his body was tensed and pale, you wished you knew how to take his pain away,
"What happened?"
Remus had never felt so closed up in his throat, the furrow in your brows, the frown on your lips made his heart break. As if on cue, James and Sirius left you too alone.
His hand came and touched yours, which was on his cheek. He smiled softly but there was no change in your demeanour. He sighed and said,
"You know, how clumsy I can get—"
"No Remus! No one gets so hurt by just being clumsy!"
He was a bit startled by your sudden outburst and winced. Your voice soften and you said,
"Please Remus, please tell me what is it?"
Remus knew from the heartbroken look in your eyes that he have to tell you. Gathering his courage, he said,
"I am a werewolf."
Silence.
He waited for your outburst but it never came. He opened his eyes to see the furrow between your eyes soften and a sigh of relief escaping your lips.
"Oh Merlin, Remus! You scared me so much."
He was taken aback by your calmness he wanted to ask did it not affect you but before he could you wrapped your arms around his neck. He sighed in content and wrapped his own arms around you. Merlin, he was ruined. He liked you. Maybe even loved.
You had never felt such a relief but you were afraid of the terrors he had face every month. You wanted to be with him for the best and worst, you wanted to hug him when he felt, you wanted kiss—
Oh Merlin, You liked Remus.
When you both seperated, your minds were buzzing with questions. Shaking those thoughts off, you held his hands in yours and said,
"Remus, I can't imagine the pain you have to go through every month, but I'm here for you. Until the end."
He smiled softly and said,
"Thanks for accepting me."
"Of course."
Just then a golden thread erupted from your wrists, shining, it made its way and tied itself on Remus' wrists.
Your mouths were agape. The golden thread. You wanted to cry, you want to laugh, you wanted to grin and most importantly you wanted to kiss each other and that's what you did.
Wrapping your arms around one another you both devoured the honey of each other's lips, celebrating the bond of your invisible string.
When you both pulled back, Remus rested his forehead on yours, eyes still closed, he said,
"I guess, I was right when I said, that you could be talking to the one for you at the moment."
You grinned and kissed his nose. What an amazing story.
"Remus I'm so glad that you are my soulmate."
"Yeah me too, it was a hell of a journey but it brought me heaven, to you." He smile at you and kissed your nose. Remus saw a smile form on your lips, making his heart fill with warmth.
You opened your eyes and looked at him,
"There were clues I didn't see, all the time, wish I could have, we would have so much more time with each other."
"I am just happy that you came to me and pulled me out of all the wrong arms. We do have plenty of time."
You sighed and laid your head on Remus shoulder, whose head came and rested on yours. His soft Heath's calmed you and made you say,
"Isn't it just so pretty to think, all along there was some invisible string, tying you to me."
A single thread of gold tied me and you.

Rhino Beetle
Iwaizumi x Fem!Reader
wc: 1735
Warnings: None! :))
I love Iwa-Chan so much and I just want to show him so love🥺
I hope you guys enjoy the fic🥰
Iwaizumi grunted as he walked alongside Oikawa, who was going on about how “horrible” Kentaro had been at practice the day before. He was more occupied watching how the snow fell gracefully upon the school grounds.
“Iwa-chan! Are you even listening?” Oikawa complained when he finally realized his friend wasn’t looking at him.
“No, obviously.” Iwaizumi grunted back.
“You never listen to me, Iwa-chan, as your captain you should—”
Iwaizumi immediately turned his head when he heard a shriek coming from a few feet behind him. He turned to see you on the ground. He recognized you. Y/n. You were in his class. Of course he knew you, you were beautiful, extremely kind, and one of the top students in the class. You were planted on the ground, with all your belongings scattered around you, while your giggling friends rushed to pick you up.
“Iwaaaa! You're not listening! You break my—” Oikawa turns to see his friend is no longer next to him, so he looks around to find him, smirking at the sight when he finally located him.
“You're so clumsy, Y/n!” One of your friends giggled as she cautiously walked over to you. You gave her a small laugh as you tried to stand, only to fall back down on your butt. Your fiends all started to laugh again until suddenly, they simultaneously stopped.
“Excuse me ladies.” You look up to see Iwaizumi Hajime, the ace of the volleyball team, looking at you.
“O-oh! Iwaizumi-san! What’s wrong?” Your friend stutters out. He looked at her and then at you.
“Are you alright, Y/n-chan?”
Your friends look at him in shock. The team’s ace was a pretty intimidating guy. He usually carries a scowl on his face and beats the poor captain. Yet here he is, asking if you were okay.
“Yes, I’m okay, just a little fall.” You giggle out nervously. Unlike your friends who found him intimidating, you always thought he was attractive.
Iwaizumi extends his hand to you, which you hesitantly take. He lifts you up like it’s nothing, gently putting you back on your feet. Your friends scatter to pick up your belongings.
“T-thank you!” You squeal out, not feeling confident enough to look up at his handsome face. He looks at you with a small frown.
“You’re afraid of me.” He states.
Your head shoots up to see him looking down at you with his arms crossed.
“W-what?” You look at him with wide eyes.
He scoffs, “Tch. Sorry I wasn't Oikawa.” He turns arounds and walks into the school building. You try to call after him but he was already gone.
Iwaizumi always thought you were smart and really pretty, so when he saw you in need of help he thought it was the perfect opportunity to come to your aid. But you couldn't even look him in the eyes. He knew he was pretty intimidating, he’s heard the whispers about him. The Scary Ace of Aoba Johsai. He just thought that maybe you’d think he was just a regular guy. You had always been so nice to everyone, but of course you’d think he was scary. You probably liked Oikawa. Who didn’t.
“Iwachaaaan! Who was the pretty girl you helped? You have a secret girlfriend, Iwa-chan?” Oikawa wiggled his eyebrows at Iwaizumi.
“No, Shittykawa. Obviously not.” He scowled. Oikawa cocked his head in confusion, “What do you mean, Iwa-chan?”
“I mean, why would she like me? All I am is your scary vice captain.” He said through gritted teeth. Oikawa sighed at his best friend, “Not true!”
Oikawa had never seen Iwaizumi look so down before, especially not for a girl. He had to fix this.
“I’ll see you later, Iwa-chan, i see some of my fans waiting to escort me to class!” Oikawa said.
“You better not be late to your class, Trashykawa!” exclaimed Iwaizumi.
Oikawa looks over to the opposite side of the hall, he spots you and a friend walking up the stairs. He smirks and saunt his way over to you.
“Hey pretty ladies!”
You look up to see Oikawa Toru smirking down at you and your friend.
“O-oikawa-kun! Good morning!” Your friend stutters out. You playfully roll your eyes, all of your friends had a crush on Oikawa. Sure, he was cute, but you just seemed to like a certain scowling ace.
“Good morning, Oikawa. Is there something you need?” You greet.
He smiles brightly, no doubt making your friend’s heart stop.
“Well, I’m going to get straight to the point. Are you scared of Iwa-chan?” He asked.
You widen your eyes in shock. Did Iwaizumi really think you were scared of him? This was a huge misunderstanding, you weren’t scared of him at all!
“N-no! Not at all, Oikawa-san! Does he really think that?” You say
“Yup.” Oikawa nods at you.
“No, it's not that I’m scared of him, it’s that… nevermind, just tell him I am so so sorry! I'm not scared of him.” You sigh as you try to walk away.
Oikawa chuckles, “So you like him.”
You freeze at his statement. He wasn’t asking you, he was stating it.
“You should tell him you're not afraid of him yourself. Poor guy is in a nasty little funk.”
“Maybe you’re right, I’ll tell him after class.” You nod. Maybe Oikawa had a point, you didn’t want to make Iwaizumi feel bad over something that wasn’t true. You just hoped he wasn’t upset with you.
“Fantastic! Let me know how that goes!” Oikawa exclaims.
“Okay?” You say, confused that he’s so invested in the situation.
“Well, class is about to start, catch you later pretty ladies” Oikawa says as he throws a wink to your friend.
“I can’t believe The Oikawa Toru talked to us, Y/n! This is the best day of my life!” She squealed.
“You’re ridiculous.” You mutter out playfully as you walk into your class.
You walked into your class, straight to your desk, not catching how Iwaizumi’s eyes wistfully followed you until you reached your seat. He wished you weren't so afraid of him. You were the only girl he’d ever like this much. Whenever he’d see you, even from a distance, his palms would go all sweaty. He wasn’t sure if he should be relieved or disappointed that he’d never seen you at one of his games. Relieved that he wouldn’t embarrass himself in front of you but disappointed that you haven’t seen him in his element.
As the class came to an end, you quickly gathered your belongings. You wanted to catch Iwaizumi before he disappeared into the sea of students. You see him get up and walk towards the door.
“Wait, Iwazumi!” You cling onto his volleyball jacket sleeve.
You feel him come to a halt, slowly turning around. He looked down at you and raised his brow, “Y/n-chan? What do you want?” He was confused, you were so scared this morning, what did you want?
“I wanted to apologize.. For this morning, I’m afraid I gave you the wrong impression! I talked to your friend, Oikawa-san, and he told me you were upset, I’m so sorry!” You say bashfully.
So that’s why you were talking to him. Oikawa probably shot you his signature smile and asked you to apologize to him. And you probably fell for it, too. But he didn’t need your fake apology. Iwaizumi pulled his sleeve out of your grasp, “Whatever.” He grunted. He shot you one more quick glance and started to walk away.
“Wait, Iwaizumi!” You called after him. He ignored you, almost wanting to return back, your siren-like voice practically begging for him to come back. You look at him, knowing you had to do something, anything, to call him back. As you follow him out to the hallway, you glance down at his bookbag, noticing a dangling keychain.
“Rhino beetle!” You yell out to him, gathering some strange looks from those who heard you.
Iwaizumi halts completely, did you just call him a rhino beetle?
He turns around to face you, you take the opportunity to quickly jog up to him.
“Did you just call me a rhino beetle?” He stares at you incredulously. You give him a little giggle and he feels the world come to a stop. He’s never heard such a beautiful sound.
“No, I mean the little rhino beetle on your bookbag.” You said while trying to hold in your laugh. He looks down at his beetle keychain. Oh.
“Oh… You know about the rhinoceros beetle?” He asked.
You nod, “Yeah! Honestly, I think they’re a little cute, like little tiny baby rhinos.”
You thought an insect was… cute? Iwaizumi wanted to marry you right then and there.
“Iwaizumi, I’m not afraid of you, by the way. I never was afraid of you. You do make me nervous, but not because I'm scared.” You confess.
“You make me a little nervous, too.” He responds while scratching the back of his neck.
“Why?” You give him a small smile.
Iwaizumi blushes a little, “Well, you're very.. Uh.. pretty and you're smart. Your intelligence is really admirable.”
“I think you're very pretty, too… wait no, not pretty, uh… attractive.” You let out a small cough to cover up your embarrassment.
Iwaizumi smiles at you. It must be his lucky day.
“Hey, do you want to maybe come to my place after practice? I have a book of different insect species we can read about… if you want?” He asks you.
You smile up at him, “Sure, that sounds like fun! But on one condition?” You respond.
“What’s the condition?” He asked, a little wary of your condition.
“Can I watch you practice? If that’s not too weird!” You ask.
You wanted to watch him practice? Oh, he’ll definitely be at his absolute best today.
“Yeah, you can definitely come watch. I’ll.. um.. spike pretty hard for you.”
“You better!” You laugh.
He chuckles along with you, “Oh, I definitely will.”
You both walk in a comfortable silence towards the cafeteria until you both heard someone running up behind you.
“Oh, Iwa-chaaan! What’s all this?” Oikawa asks while getting in between you both, wrapping his arms over both of your shoulders.
“Damn you, Shittykawa! Why don’t you go bother someone else?!” Iwaizumi yells as he smacks his friend’s head. You just giggle and roll your eyes. No matter how scary Iwaizumi tried to be, you’d always find him absolutely adorable. He really was a rhino beetle after all.

masterlist
----------------------------------
one thing about being the youngest member of the team meant that the second-youngest member was drawn to you.
that second youngest member happened to be spencer reid.
you had just had another paperwork day today since you got back from one the night previous. you were currently in the conference room discussing the case before we got off-topic, curtesy of spencer's coffee problem.
"i might have a slight problem with my coffee addiction, but there are many studies that go to show the benefits of drinking coffee. supposedly, drinking coffee could extend your life period, strengthen your liver, increase your body's glucose production, and even-"
"okay, that's all for today guys. go home and get rest before a case comes in," hotch interjected and warned.
you placed your hand on spencer's arm, this time underneath the table, as his face began to fall from disappointment. he turned to face and gave a tight-lipped grin before you removed my hand and we both stood up.
"so, spence, my place or yours for the doctor who marathon this time?" you said as he grabbed his bag from his desk.
"we went to mine last, so we can just go to yours this time," he said with his natural pep back. "besides, i kinda like your apartment better," he shrugged with another wide smile.
"clearly you do," you joked. "you almost always say my place," you laughed as you both joined jj. pen, and emily in the elevator.
"hey, y/n, would you wanna go to o'kiefs with us tonight?" jj offered kindly.
"already got plans. maybe next time!" you said with a smile, turning back to see spencer wearing the same smile on your face.
honestly, you and spencer have gone to the bar with the team a few times. you weren't opposed to going with them, you just knew that going meant everyone would pressure you to drink alcohol.
last time, you had succumbed to peer pressure. spencer had to drive you home and hold your hair as you puked into the toilet, it was a very good bonding experience. you didn't remember much, but you do remember you convinced him to stay the night, although he did end up sleeping on the couch rather than in the bed with you.
"after last time, i don't blame you, y/l/n," emily laughed out, giving a concerned look recalling the memories flooding her mind.
"next time we won't pressure you so much!" penny consoled. "i didn't know how much you meant it when you said you can't handle your alcohol," she winced.
"yea... i really meant it," you laughed out, trying to shed some light on the subject. the elevator opened, allowing you to go your separate ways for the night. "have fun you guys!" you called as you walked to your car with spencer.
spencer and you have been carpooling to work ever since you learned he took the metro to work and only lived a couple blocks from your apartment complex. you couldn't stand the thought of something bad happening to him while on the train, so you've offered to give him a ride there and back ever since.
in return, spencer insisted on paying for daily coffee runs for the two of you. it was his way 'of returning the fuel money in another type of fuel.'
you and spencer crawled into the car and began the drive back to your place. it wasn't too long to your place, only a 20-minute drive, but being with spencer made it feel like half that.
"do you even remember what happened the last time you went to the bar with them?" spencer laughed.
"not exactly..." you grimaced. "just that you took me home, there was a bit of puking, and i coerced you to stay the night. and you slept on the couch, which is absolutely ridiculous! i mean, i was the one who practically made you stay, so shouldn't i have slept on the couch? it's not like we haven't slept in the same bed before," you ranted.
"you're right, we have slept in the same bed before," he clarified. "but each time we did that you weren't drunk out of your mind," he sassed.
"ha-ha, spence," you mocked. "i did say i couldn't handle my alcohol. is there anything you wanna fill me in on?"
truthfully, yes.
there was something he wanted to fill you in on.
he wanted to tell you how you confessed your past to him.
he wanted to tell you how you kissed him right after...
and he kissed you back.
he could still remember the way your lips tasted, still covered by the vodka from the shots you took hours before.
but he didn't want you to think less of him since he kissed you back.
he just couldn't help it.
he'd been helplessly in love with you for so long, yearning to be with you as more than friends... as more than what he thought you wanted. but that kiss was his hope.
it was hope that maybe you felt a fraction of the chemistry he did. it was hope that maybe even if you didn't like him, you still had an attraction towards him in some kind of way. it was hope that maybe you would grow those same feelings for him.
but no matter how much 'hope' that kiss gave him, he shouldn't have kissed you back. he knew how vulnerable you were by telling him about your history of abuse.
you told him about your parents. about how they would throw you around when they were high, or drunk, or both. you told him about how they would call you worthless, a whore, stupid, good-for-nothing, basically every name in the book. but you didn't tell him about how you coped with the abuse.
so, when he told you how amazing you are to be able to turn your life around how you did, and how beautiful you are and always have been, you couldn't help but embrace him with a kiss.
you kissed him.
and he kissed you.
in a wonderful, vulnerable moment, he kissed you back as he'd always wanted to each night you spent with each other.
"nope," he shook his head. "nothing to fill you in on."
"i guess that's good," you shrugged.
he also wanted to know if you'd ever tell him about what happened when you were in your right mind. he wanted to know that you trusted him with your darkest secret that you accidentally already spilled to him.
although, maybe you should know about what you admitted to him. it was your life, after all. it was your past that you revealed to him in a simple drunken mistake.
"actually..." spencer started, taking a deep breath as he looked into your eyes. "you did mention something."
"okay... what'd i mention?" you wondered.
"you told me about..." he tried to find the right words to say. "about your parents."
"oh...?" you began to realize what you had admitted to him that very night, still not remembering the events that followed. "i didn't want you to find out like that..." you trailed off.
"i figured you didn't," he gave a small grin. you looked over at him hesitantly.
you thought about all the ways you could react to this. you could block him out and act like it was his fault you drunkenly confessed your past. you could ignore the fact that you told him at all and just move on, burrowing all the emotions inside of you once again. or, you could try to finally move on from what happened and how you coped with it by talking to spencer about it.
"when we get to my place, would you mind if we held off on the marathon? i should probably elaborate a bit more," you asked meekly.
"of course we can. we can do whatever you want tonight, y/n," he soothed, placing a hand on your lower thigh comfortingly.
you drove back to your place in silence, the both of you anticipating the conversation awaiting you.
when you finally entered your apartment, you both shed your coats by the door, hanging them on the hook, placed your guns and badged on the table beside the hook, and sat down on the couch comfortably. you crossed your legs, your knee up in the air, as spencer sat down with his knee touching the one still on the couch.
"so... how much did i say?" you asked curiously.
"you talked about the emotional and physical abuse, but nothing too in depth," he confirmed.
"when i was young, about 12, my parents got into a minor car accident," you began telling him about your past, trying to recall the memories with little hurt or pain. "they weren't at fault, it was a drunk teenager, but they each got addicted to their pain meds from the hospital. i would be asleep when they would come home from a night out, drunk and high out of their minds. i remember the first night it happened. i wandered in the living room, curious of what the ruckus was, and was greeted by my dad's hand slapping me across my face," you chuckled humorlessly, not knowing what other reaction was appropriate.
"he told me i shouldn't have been up or seen what they were doing. he was furious," you furrowed your brows as tears began to well in your eyes at the memory as spencer gingerly placed his hand comfortingly on your knee, scooting a tad bit closer to you. "after that night it became almost a pattern of his. he would come home and then get upset from his high coming down, and take it out on me. my mom just laughed and watched as he would hit me."
"eventually, they started just belittling me. they would say i was a coward for not standing up for myself. they would say i was stupid, or worthless. they especially liked to call me 'a waste of space,' i think that one was their favorite," you took a shaky, deep breath as you knew you were about to reveal for the first time to anyone what you would do to cope with the abuse.
"eventually i started to believe them. i started to believe the things they said about me. i thought i truly was an ugly, undeserving, piece of garbage," you turned to see spencer's eyes full of tears, mirroring your own. "i would self-harm because i believed them. each night after they were done with their own abuse, i felt so... frustrated. the only way i could get that frustration out was to do that. the scars are still there, taunting me of how weak i was to not just endure the pain," you finished.
you didn't even realize tears were streaming down your eyes until you noticed the few on spencer's cheek. he reached his hand up to wipe the tears on your face, ignoring that of his own.
"you aren't weak, y/n. you are unbelievably strong for getting through that. you have to know how amazing you are," he told you, demanding you to see you the way he saw you.
because the way he saw you, you were beyond perfect. you were so much stronger for going through that. if anything, knowing you went through that made him think you were that much more amazing.
and honestly, the way you were thinking is that when you told spencer, he might think less of you. he might think you were dumb for doing that to yourself, inflicting pain upon your own body to relieve yourself of pain.
that was anything but true.
"s-so you don't think any less of me?" you asked confused, looking into his eyes for any tells of his lying.
"absolutely not. if anything i think you're stronger now that i know what you've endured," he assured you, moving a stray piece of hair behind your ear as he moved even closer to you.
"thank you so much, spencer," you said as you lunged forward, your arms immediately pulling him closer around his neck into a hug.
"you don't need to thank me, y/n," he started as he rubbed circles in your back soothingly. "if it helps anything at all... i think your amazing. i always have, and i always will."
"spencer..." you pulled back and looked into his eyes. "just... i need to tell you one more thing."
"alright," he nodded, prompting you to continue.
"i uhm, i'm in love with you," you bit your lip in anticipation for his response.
he didn't say anything.
he couldn't say anything.
he wanted to say something, but he didn't know how.
he didn't even know if you actually said that, or if you were just a figment of his imagination.
because at this point, he felt so much more for you than love.
he was infatuated with you.
but you read it as rejection, so you quickly unhinged your arms from around his neck and retreated into a ball while on the couch.
"i-i'm sorry," you said after quickly realizing the reality of the situation.
he didn't feel the same.
"you d-don't need to say it back. i shouldn't have sprung that on you. i-i've just felt that way for so long, and i thought that maybe you did too, but i shouldn't have assumed anything. i'm so sorry," you looked at him, waiting for him to say anything. to admit anything.
"oh god, and i just spilled everything to you," you ran your hand through your hair.
silence.
"i think i need to go for a walk," you said, getting up from the couch and rushing out the door after grabbing your coat.
you opted for taking the stairs to run outside, being the quickest option.
spencer was speechless, still sitting on your couch, dumbfounded.
he was overwhelmed with emotions.
you loved him?
he couldn't believe that someone so smart, so beautiful, so kind, so funny, so... everything would ever love him.
and he was too late to say it back.
he couldn't wrap his head around the fact that you loved him, so he just sat there in awe of this revelation.
by the time he realized what you had said, and was ready to say it back, you were already out of the door and down the stairs.
you were walking all too fast with tears flooding your eyesight.
you had just lost the one person you loved the most. the one person who's always there for you. the only person you've felt a connection with. you lost your everything.
by the time spencer ran down the stairs in an attempt to chase you, you were nowhere to be found. he could always call your cell, but he wanted to admit his undying love and affection in person, not over some dumb cellular device.
you didn't know where you were going, just letting your feet take you wherever they pleased. it had been a bit cold and you had left everything at your place, so you began rubbing your arms in search for more friction.
you were walking around a corner when you were pulled into an alley by some random white guy. with a harsh hand on your arm, you whined out quietly from the sudden pain.
you didn't have your gun.
"money! NOW!" he demanded. you stayed there with tears in your eyes, too emotional to speak.
your wallet was back at the house.
"are you too dumb to speak? i said MONEY!" he said, pushing a gun you were now made aware of into your stomach.
"i-i don't have my wallet," you admitted with a shaky voice, tears now streaming down your face faster than before.
the night was supposed to be another night with spencer, watching your favorite show and being with your favorite person. you were supposed to be cuddled up on his couch, probably falling asleep in his arms by now.
and now you were being mugged and were probably going to get hurt in one way or another.
"and why is that, doll?" he pushed the gun further into your lower stomach .
"i-i was in a r-rush. i s-swear i d-don't have anyth-thing!" you stuttered, trying to convince him to let you go.
"too bad... you've already seen my face. let's hope you have a nice nap," he growled before pulling the trigger, a bullet running through your lower stomach.
spencer was near you when the bullet went off. he was walking home.
you didn't even realize it, but you were walking in the direction of your love's own home when you were ambushed.
he heard the gun go off.
he naturally ran into the alley with his gun raised, ready to fire at anyone fleeing the scene. he managed to take the guy down with a single bullet before realizing it was you who was shot.
he quickly grabbed his phone and dialed 911 and demanded an ambulance at the corner of 5th and maine, alerting them that an agent was down.
"Y/N!" he yelled, running to kneel beside your limp body. "please, no..." he pleaded.
he put his hand to your neck in an attempt to find any pulse. there was a weak one. there was that hope again. he pulled you onto his lap, your body now resting atop his.
"stay with me. i-i didn't get to tell you how i felt," he cried as he put pressure on where the blood was coming out.
"sp-spencer?" you asked, barely regaining consciousness.
"it's me, y/n. i'm here," he soothed, running a hand through your hair to move it from your face.
"i'm s-s-sorry," you choked out, feeling your eyelids become heavier by the second.
"no. don't apologize to me," he told you. "i should be apologizing."
"it's n-not... your... fault," you felt your breath coming slower, the weight on your chest becoming unbearable.
"i-if i would've just told you how i felt..." he began thinking about how horrible a mistake he had made.
sirens were nearing, hope was becoming greater. spencer clung to your body tighter than ever as if holding you closer to him would will your heart to beat stronger, even if it was for just a bit longer.
"i-i..." you took another uneven breath, reaching your hand up slowly to wipe a tear from his face. "lo-love..." another breath. "you," you finished, your hand cascading down from his face and falling limp onto spencer’s lap, now accepting your own fate as the ambulance was now right outside the alley.
there was a moment when spencer thought maybe you’d wake up. you’d come back to him. but once they loaded you into the ambulance he had to accept one thing.
he had lost his everything...

The Game of Three-
Rating : 18+, Explicit
Word count : ~ 3K
Pairing : Geto Suguru x female reader x Mahito
Warnings : Mirror sex, dub con, gaslighting ( kind of, like I wanted to add it but not sure if I did it right), Fingering, Cunnilingus, degradation (slight), voyeurism, choking, threesome near the end.
A/n: When describing Suguru's place I totally went into weeb mode and used traditional Japanese terms but I tried to define them to the best of my abilities so y'all won't get confused and I put the link of their pictures in their name as well, so you can check them out if you want.
The red clouds above you parted to reveal the cerulean blue sky, painting the engawa in front of you in its hues. Giving a quick look over to the now clean surface beneath your feet, you made your way to the supply closet to put the mop back.
It's been a few uneventful months since you got employed as one of the only two maids in the entire manor. It was fairly big, atleast for just one person, and minimally decorated so it wasn't that hard to keep the entire place clean even with the two of you. The other maid was a nice old lady who showed you the way around the place and how to do what when you were just starting out.
The manor was quite, most of the time, even with your boss's guests staying over for a couple of days, the place lacked any sort of liveliness much less talking. Just a few more hours until your evening shift is over, you mused to yourself roaming around the garden to feed the pond's fish their dinner as the sun began its descent. Mindlessly, you kept looking around the area until one of the rooms caught your eye. On your right you saw the silhouette of your employer through the thin Shoji door that coverd his room.
Having finished bathing, you saw his toned mascular arms slipping out of his thin bath yukata that contrasted to the one he usually donned, his elegant movements accentuated by the growing darkness the evening provided. His daily outfit was nothing if not modest, covering his body from head to toe, leaving everything to the imagination but right now the delicious shape of his body was on full display, making it harder for you to move.
It wasn't until his form moved closer to the door, that you realised how badly your current actions could effect the job you were given. Just the thought of yourself getting fired after being considered a peeping tom made your breath quicken and not in a good way. The panic surging through your veins momentarily turned your mind blank, making you stumble until the heel of your foot slipped on one of the algae coated rocks. Clenching your butt cheeks you braced yourself for the impact but the efforts proved pointless as the considerably shallow pond's bottom made full contact with your body.
Pain aside, the cold water of the pond was what added most to your immobility until you heard footsteps heading towards you. Looking up from your seated position, the tall figure of your boss, maybe ex boss, loomed over you. He extended one elegant hand towards you.
" Are you okay.....?", His soft tone carried nothing but gentleness but being a mess, both physically and mentally, it took you sometime to process what he had said. Hesitation was clear in your actions as you meekly let him pull you up. His grip on your arm was firm and with how easily he pulled you out of the pond showed his Zephyr-like nature had a brute strength underneath. Threads of wet, black hair covering the sides of his well sculpted face, reached all the way to his mid- back. His usual heavy garb was replaced with a single, cotten yukata which were damp in every places his hair touched.
"Y/n...... Was it?, Can you stand", putting both his hands on your shoulders he peered at your face, you still for a moment, too fascinated by his slitted eyes to look away. This was the first time you two had a real conversation so you forced yourself to speak,
" Oh...umm, I'm sorry! I didn't payed attention to the slippery rocks and fell,.....but I'm okay! So..... Yeah... thank you", it was difficult to keep your voice steady, not wanting to reveal your obviously perverted BUT unintentional peeping. Yup. That's what you kep telling yourself although his secretive smile told you that your poor lie didn't make the cut.
" I see, so tell me y/n dear.....", His hands on your shoulders gripped them a little tighter as he leaned down until his face was right in front of yours, " where exactly were you paying attention to?", The question was simple, nor did it had any threatening undertones but your throat still felt clogged. It was too embarrassing, telling your boss that you were shamelessly ogling at his silhouette changing clothes. One second, two seconds, a lot of seconds passed with you playing dumb until you heard a soft sigh.
" Alright...... If you don't want to tell me, I'll let it go........for now", emphasizing the now, he took your cold hands in his warmer ones, leading you inside his room. You were still drenched, hesitating to climb on the perfectly dry floor of his room,
"It's okay..... I'll go ask for a change of clothes so you sit here, better than the outside right?," Smiling, he disappeared down the hall. The whether wasn't cold, so you didn't have to worry about getting sick but you still reeked of fish and algae, making a change of cloths a better option. You could chid yourself for it but looking at the things in his room can't be considered peeping so you turned around from your sitting position, taking in your surroundings.
His room was relatively normal, just like rest of the manor, the furnishing was minimal, a low chabudai with a few soft looking zabuton around it, a wooden cupboard, the slightly elevated tokonoma on the right side of the room had a full body sized mirror, along with a couple of other tiny decoratives. Nothing stood out with everything in place, your boss sure had simple tastes, you thought to yourself when the door slided again, when the owner of the room itself entered.
He was empty handed , earning a questioning look from you, " it's gonna take a few more minutes to find women's clothing, I hope you don't mind, for the time being....", He walked over to cupboard, producing a towel out of it.
" Use this to dry yourself", handing you the towel he kneeled beside you, he was being so nice, you hadn't expected him to be so kind but you gratefully accepted it. When you began drying your hair, you felt his eyes on yourself, pointed and unnerving. You gulped, feeling like he could see right through your head, just waiting for you to fess up on your own. You were lost in your thoughts when his voice suddenly filled the room.
"You know.....y/n, when you desire something.....", His fingers made their way to your collar, playfully stroking your neck," you should let yourself have it", his last words were nothing but a whisper against your ear as he placed himself right behind your seated form. His upper half of the robe already wet, stuck to his body, defining each and every cut of his muscles. He was somewhere between lean and mascular, his beautiful face giving him just the right amount of sensuality. You weren't naive enough to be oblivious to his suggestive tone.
It was weird to you, perplexing even as to why a clearly well to do, good looking guy would not only make a move on his maid but a maid who smelled like she just popped out of a can of tuna fish. His deep, even breaths stroked your ear as he waited for you to answer.
" I really wasn't thinking about....... 'This'", you pulled his hands wrapped around your shoulders away, to prove your point. You thought he'd be upset but his face only lit up by your rejection.
" Is this embarrassment I see y/n? Because it's not cute", he rose on his knees, looking down at you he gently added, " the mundane world would feel much better if you indulged yourself a bit more you know, even if those indulgences are only of....."
" Sexual nature", his sharp eyes slited as his lips curled into a wicked grin. Impossible to read, his actions did nothing but lure you in a honey coverd poisonous trap. It was obvious with the way his hands started massaging your arms, right where it hurt from your previous fall, blowing softly in your ear. They was all just tricks to make you fall just so he could shame you from above but you'd be damned if it didn't got you all hot and bothered. He grazed his hand across your blouse sticking to your bust, your nipples hardened with the slightest touch. The reactions your body gave were no lies and therefore couldn't be hidden. He pressed your bodies closer until you sat snugly against his torso. You closed your eyes, still unable to decide whether or not you want to let him have his way and deal with all the risks that would soon follow after.
The front of wet your shirt was completely open by now, reveling the garment underneath. Suguru's hands trailed up and down your thighs as he hiked your long skirt higher until it pooled around your hips sticking to the sides. He hooked his left hand under your left knee, doing the same with your right side, he pulled your legs apart, with the mirror in front, you and the man behind you had a full view of your damp panties.
" See that? This is what you want. To be exposed by me. Just the thought of spreading yourself open in front me have you this wet y/n...... Are you sure you weren't waiting for this moment all along?", His voice had a mix of mockery and eroticism in it, his words only adding to the fire burning in the middle of your core. With his right hand, he grabbed the thin strap of your panties at the side of your hips and tore them off until the shredded garment was left dangling on one of your hip. The air in the room, made contact with you now naked pussy but what made you shiver was the mirror in front of you. Suguru held both of your legs as far apart as possible, his face, now lacking all the warmth it had just a few minutes ago. When you tried to squeeze your eyes shut he pinched your inner thighs hard, making you cry out in a mix of pain and pleasure.
" Keep looking y/n, I'm proving it to you, just how much you're body is begging for me. And I won't stop until you've said so yourself, so keep. Your eyes. Open.," The darkness of his tone was accentuated with the look in his eyes. The fingers of his right hand made their way to your cunt, with two of them he spread your dripping lips apart, reveling the tiny swollen bud that was screaming for attention. You felt it too, the need for release spreading in your body but voicing it meant your defeat so you held your breath, letting the self assured guy behind you continue his ministrations.
" Why can't you be honest just like your needy cunt?", He cooed against your throat as he rubbed your nether lips with his digits, coating them in your slick. He didn't touch your clit, if you were going to be a brat then he's bringing his A game too. Making you beg was his only motive now, his eyes met yours, the mirror in front of you showing every nook and cranny of your privates and by now you're sure Suguru has memorised all of it. The ache between your legs was getting worse as he kept on sliding his fingers up and down your folds but never touching the rest of your sex. You knew what would make him do it but after the prolonged defiance you're not sure how to put it into words.
" Whats wrong y/n, are you ready bow to your filthy desires?, Getting off on my fingers is going to be a lot better than yours right?", Damn his rude ass remarks but they were true, the last few months have been very long and dry for you, day in and day out all work, maybe that's why you're giving in so easily, what he promised was as tantalizing as his actions, that's why you were so horny, easily aroused even.
"Right..... You're .... right, so do it.....master", you broke out, the last of your self control shredding itself as you let your voice flow out just as much as your cunt, your juices.
" Finally gave in huh?, It would've been so much easier if you'd just admitted to being my slut from the start, but oh well, this is also good", his thick fingers slipped in you with ease as he wrapped his left hand around your throat, making you look straight at the mirror. You were a mess, a totally different kind of mess you previously were, in addition to your already damp hair, your eyes were glazed with lust, the corners of your lips moist with your drool that threatened to spill out, your clothes were disheveled and tattered, you were disheveled in general and barely recognisable.
" Now look at yourself closely, how your face twists when I make you cum, how you look when you're begging to me like a real slave," his fingers picked up a brutal pace, going in and out of you relentlessly, his thumb roughly massaging your throbbing clit, sending shivers up your spine. You could clearly see your drool covered face turning hotter by the second, pussy dripping from your buliding orgasm on the tatami mats below it, your moans coming out in broken whimpers as Suguru's hand tighten around your throat, eyes rolling back for a second, you cum around his fingers hard.
" Do you see that ? How disgusting she looks right now?", Turning his gaze to the left he called out to his accomplice in crimes, " Mahito", the other man, with an amicable smile on his peculiar face stared at, not where you lied on the floor, but at your pitiful form that appeared in the mirror.
" I just dropped by to give you the clothes you asked for the young lady earlier," his talked merrily, not minding the scandalous sight in front of him one bit," but it appears that you aren't going to be needing them for a while", throwing the cloths aside he sat on your left side. Suguru kept his eyes on the mirror, loosening his hand around your neck he let you breath, mind still hazy.
" You're free to join in, if you have the time. But I'll have to warn you though, she's a persistent one, it took me a while to break her as well", Suguru smirked, pulling his fingers out of your abused hole making an exaggerated show of bringing his cum smeared fingers to your face, as if prove his victory.
" I don't mind a challenge every once in a while Geto kun, I'm not bad at 'this' myself, but to make sure, why don't you keep sitting, after all it's been a while since touched a living human", Still a bit delirious, it took you a few more seconds than usual to process the change in your situation or what he meant by living just now or touching even. The man named Mahito kneeled in between your still parted thighs, you thought it was strange that your brains last and probably rotting cells decided to focus on his eyes. They were heterochromatic, it gave his already scared face a haunting quality.
The fact that you were sandwiched between two men soon left your mind as Mahito started sucking on your still sensitive clit, your legs instinctively clamping if it's weren't for Suguru holding them apart. The man behind you weren't entirely evil though as he rubbed soothing circles on the soft inner flesh of your aching thighs, his touch only heightning the touch of the man between them.
Mahito licked your juices as if they were made to be feasted upon, slurping on them lewdly, the V of his fore and middle finger seperated your pussy for more access, he grazed his teeth lightly across your clit, fighting the urge to bit it down. You didn't have any energy at this point to put up a show of defiance so you kept moaning, the sight of the man lying flat on his stomach along with his face hidden in between your legs was urging you to cum, but the abrupt thrusting of Suguru's fingers in your mouth cut them off.
" If you're mouth is available enough to scream for just anyone who makes you cum then you truly do have the makings of a whore.", His words were nothing more than a possessive hiss against you throat, long fingers grazing your tonsils as he pushes them deeper. You gag a little, the fingers in you mouth kept you from reacting to the man who worked your pussy until it throbbed against his face.
Mahito turned his heterochromatic eyes towards your face, it seemed like someone was keeping you from your release, he sucked on your clit again adding two fingers in your streched out cunt. He moved both his tongue and digits in similar motions, causing a surge pleasure wash down your senses, with just a few quick pumps of his fingers, your juices gushed on his face as your moans get stifled by the fingers in your mouth.
" That wasn't so bad right?", Mahito pushed himself up as he asked his partner in crime, something about his tone was awfully cocky, making Suguru's face scrunched up in a haughty smirk as he added,
" Indeed, you sure know your way around the human's body Mahito kun, but maybe a little less egar to please attitude would do better. Can't let our toy think we're just here for catering to her needs now can we?", His voice loaded with provocative innuendos sounded nothing but gentle but the other man knew better.
" Hooo?, Is that a challenge for round two, then?", He met Suguru's goading with a playful and assured tone. Both of them stared each other, neither of the males backing down they both turned their eyes at your spent body, and you know even without having to look, that it was going to be a long night.

Soul ties - Part 6 (Bucky Barnes au)
"Hold, hold on, hold onto me
'Cause I'm a little unsteady"
Word count : 2061
Sleep didn't seem to come to you that night, and you didn't know whether the reason was the pizza you'd had for dinner, your husband's obvious neglect or your supposed soulmate sleeping in the same building. After tossing and turning in your bed for over three hours, you grabbed a pillow and a plaid, put on your slippers and went into the main kitchen. A herbal tea under the stars should be a good way to help you sleep, right? You tried to stay as silent as you could despite the boiling water in the kettle – you always refused to microwave water – and picked some chamomile infusion Wanda had chosen. With your cup in one hand, you opened the picture window. One thing you liked about the compound was the few balconies it had : they weren't too big, but they were large enough for you to sit on a pillow and look at the stars, your back against the wall. You were once again trying to spot constellations, the August sky being perfect for this kind of exercise.
"Can't sleep?"
You almost spilled your tea on your plaid.
"Sorry I scared you."
You smiled weakly at the man who'd just joined you. "It's fine. Wanna sit here with a fellow insomniac?"
Bucky ran a hand through his hair before sitting on your left. His right arm brushed against your exposed skin and you tried to hide your shivers.
"What's keeping you up?" You ask. "I mean, you obviously don't have to tell me."
"Nothing much. Some nightmares."
"Are they ones about...about the war?" Your question startled him ; he shot you a confused look as you lowered yours. "Sorry. Steve told me a few times about his best friend Bucky and I... I made the connection."
"I thought Steve avoided talking about those things."
"What? The way he lost you?"
"Yeah."
"Sorry, that was tactless."
"Don't worry about that." He looked at the sky, leaning his head against the wall. "Wanna tell me what's keeping you up?"
"Well, it's quite ridiculous really," you eluded.
"Steve told me why you're spending time here. Is it him that keeps you up at night?"
You sipped on your tea for a few seconds. "I guess so. It's just that I keep thinking about what I'm doing wrong, you know? I must be doing something wrong."
You heard him take a breath, his shoulders raising with his chest. His arm against yours felt strange, in a good kind of way. You'd never felt so close to anyone in such a short amount of time, and you wondered what made him so special aside from the meaningful tattoo you shared.
"I don't think you're to blame. Can I be honest?"
"Sure."
"I'm sorry if I seem out of place, because we only met a week ago but..."
"You feel like I get you, right? Just like I feel that you get me."
He nodded calmly. "He doesn't seem to realise who he was lucky enough to marry."
"Lucky, huh?"
You looked at him with a smile and had it not been so dark, you could've sworn a red tint had reached his cheeks. "You're hella smart," he explained. "And from what I've seen, you're kind."
"And you think that after two days with me?"
He shrugged and allowed himself a quiet laugh. "You let Sam get the last piece of pizza earlier. I would have never done that."
"True. That is my most selfless act ever." Jumping on his joke felt natural and as it turned out, he had a communicative laugh.
"Why don't you laugh more often? I like it."
Bucky looked you in the eyes, paralysing you with his blue pupils again. It seemed as if he was searching for what to say.
"There aren't a lot of things that make me laugh. You do, though." This one didn't sound like a joke, and you placed your hand on his forearm, instantly sending a funny feeling down to your stomach.
"Consider me flattered," you said. "Can I ask you a question? Don't feel like you're forced to answer, though."
"Sure."
"I'm just curious, working in biochem and stuff... I'm basically the school nurse for theses guys," you explained. "So how does it feel, the metal arm? Do you...feel things the way you do with your right arm?"
He stopped for a moment. "I did not expect that question. That's a good surprise." He raised his left hand in front of him. "It's weird, actually. This one is really advanced. Shuri did an amazing job with it, but... sometimes I'll touch something and think I feel something. I know it's my brain playing tricks on me, but it's not that sentient. I feel pressure, tension...but not actual human sensations." He let his hand fall down on his knees.
"Do you miss it?"
"I got used to it. But yeah."
"Okay, close your eyes."
"What?"
"Do you trust me?"
"Y/n, we met last week."
"I know! But like, it's not a 'do you trust me with your life' situation. Think of it as 'do you trust me with basic skills' kind of thing." You chuckled. "Now close your eyes."
Bucky gave in and you gently grabbed his metal hand. "What do you feel now?" you asked, stroking the back of his hand.
"I know there's something on my hand. And I know it's harmless. But...nothing more, I'm sorry."
"Don't be. It's part of you."
"And you don't mind that?"
"Why would I?" you shrugged. "It's you."
"Even if I were to do this?" He slowly raised his hand, approaching your face. You let him place his hand on your cheek. It didn't feel like flesh and bone, but it still felt right.
"Yes, even then." You held up his gaze, searching those blue eyes for any sign. Signs of what exactly, you didn't know yet. All you wanted was to stare into them forever, never leave this state of mind.
When Bucky's hand fell down your shoulder and kept running down your arm, a thousand shivers ran down your spine. You couldn't – shouldn't – feel this way. You were married now, and doing this... To prevent you from doing anything stupid, you looked away and leaned back against the wall. Getting away from him still was out of your league, though ; you settled for resting your head on his shoulder and spread your plaid over both your bodies. It might've been because nights were fresh, even in August, but it was mostly to make sure you were as close to him as you could be. Before falling asleep, the last thing you felt was Bucky's head letting itself fall on top of yours.
---
"Hey, you need to wake up."
The morning sun made you blink and you felt something on your thigh. Lowering your gaze, you noticed Bucky's hand. You tried not to freak out and looked up at whoever had spoken : Steve. Bucky shifted next to you, woken up by Steve's words as well.
"What's going on?" you asked. Steve might have been the best at hiding concern, he couldn't always hide it from you.
He sighed. "Darren's here."
"Shit." You got up more abruptly than you should've, causing you to lean on Steve's shoulder for a second. "Where is he?"
"Right here."
You turned around, seeing Darren standing in the doorframe. Well, that was unfortunate. You thought you should've been feeling some sort of guilt after being found in another man's arms – technically ; all you felt was anger. You were angry that he'd showed up after standing you up last night, you were angry about the neglect and his overall lack of care.
"What are you doing here?" you asked sharply.
"Bringing you home. Why didn't you come back?" His arms were crossed over his chest and he shot Bucky a furious look. "And why were you sleeping outside with this guy?"
Rubbing your forehead, you gestured towards Steve and Bucky. "Could you guys leave us a minute, please?"
Even though Steve nodded and walked back inside, Bucky seemed unsure about leaving you alone with your husband. You gave him a brief smile and he took the hint. As you closed the door behind him to have some privacy – the door was made of glass, but oh well –, Darren started pacing.
"Did you cheat on me last night?"
"What the hell?" You couldn't believe your ears. "You're kidding, right? You stood. Me. Up. You didn't even bother telling me in advance that you'd go at Brad's, and you didn't even come home. Didn't you think I was tired of being alone every night?"
"You're never alone."
"Damn it, Darren, you came home past dinner every day since we got married! We should be on our honeymoon right now, and yet you don't even bother kissing me goodnight."
"That's all this is about? I work a little too much and you go away to your so-called family?" He'd stopped pacing and raised an eyebrow, proud of his innuendo. His insinuating Steve and the gang weren't your family made your blood boil.
"So-called? So-called, Darren? I love these people. They are my family and they've been more present for me today than you have in a week. What did you expect? That I would happily ask to be invited at Brad's, when I clearly am not welcome there?"
"You are welcome, what the hell are you talking about?"
"They don't like me, and you know that very well." You looked at the ground. You might've been angry, but never being able to fit in within Darren's social circle had always hurt you.
"Maybe you're not trying hard enough."
No words came out of your mouth. How could you say anything to that? This was the ultimate insult. You had given so much to this relationship that you'd never even thought that 'not trying hard enough' could've been the reason they disliked you. First dinner with them, Brad's wife had made fun of what was left of your Sokovian accent, asking Darren if he wanted you to help you get a green card. Of course you'd called her out on her racism. She got upset, but was it your fault? No. During a night out, Brad had been too handsy with you and when telling Darren about it, he'd told you that you were reading too into it, that he was just being friendly. They weren't good people, and you'd always wondered why Darren bothered hanging out with them.
"That's it, go away." You let out an exasperated sigh, opening the door. "You're going to leave the compound to go home and calm down. Maybe I'll be back in a few days."
"I'm not going anywhere without you." That could've sounded romantic. In his mouth, it sounded more like a threat.
"Hell yeah, you are. Now go. My birthday is in three days, and I don't want you to be like this then."
"Right, your birthday. Don't count on me to celebrate it if you don't bother coming home."
You closed your eyes for a moment before gesturing him to leave. He ultimately walked through the glass door and you saw him make eye-contact with Wanda on his way out. You knew she was trying hard not to throw him against a wall or something. You ran your hand through your hair, taking in what had just occurred. You knew Darren would feel better the next day and that it would be like nothing ever happened. You just weren't sure anymore whether it was a good thing or not.
"Don't worry, you can stay here longer," you heard Steve say.
"You're better off with us anyway," Wanda told you.
"You know he's-"
"Please, don't defend him," your sister pleaded. "He's not treating you right and you know it. He hasn't for years. Why are you-"
"Wanda, please. Not here."
You looked at Bucky out of the corner of your eye ; you didn't want to have that conversation in front of him, for some reason. Maybe deep down, you knew he'd side with Wanda. Having your sister call you out was hard enough ; you didn't need your soulmate to start doing it as well.

I LOVE YOU 3000!
-PART 41
Harry was shook. It's like every good thing that had been happening came crashing down at once. And he couldn't even tell Louis. He'd understand. Of course he would, but he'd also get mad at his manager and he couldn't afford to see what would happen if Louis told his manager off.
How was he supposed to spend time with Louis and hide something this big? Louis would see right through him.
Harry checked the contract that was mailed to him. 2 month contact. Ends after the Oscars.
He had to manage everything for two months. He just didn't have a choice. He'd probably have to avoid Louis for the time being.
Tears welled up in his eyes at the mere thought of it. Harry had begun to feel like Louis was somewhat his family, and Louis came with the package of two adorable kids and a furry friend, who absolutely loved Harry. He couldn't do this alone. Harry really needed to see Louis, to hug him, to feel the assurance that no matter what, Louis wouldn't be mad. With a hard heart, he discarded that thought and at once set off for Niall's apartment- the only person he could turn to at this moment.
He crashed into Niall's apartment and over a tub of ice cream told him everything that had happened.
Niall was furious.
"How dare he? I could talk about his bitchy attitude on the radio and we'll see how THAT affects him."
"No Niall," Harry said between hiccups. He'd been crying for too long, "don't do anything. He told me not to tell anyone. And I suppose it'll be normal after 2 months."
"2 months Harry. You do realise that's long. 2 months brought you and Louis closer than ever and the same time could ruin things too."
"Don't say that," Harry whispered, breaking down again.
"I'm sorry Harry," Niall said, wrapping Harry in a comforting hug, "but you should talk to him-"
"I can't-"
"Then how do think you'll go on about this?"
"Perhaps I really need to cut down our interactions for a while."
"Not to be that person, but don't you think after yesterday, Louis will be expecting more of your presence?"
"I'll tell him I have work. I'll do anything. I don't want his career to come to harm because of me."
"I appreciate that Harry, but do you think you guys can talk it over?"
"No Ni, I just can't tell him about this."
"Okay okay," Niall continued in a soothing voice. "In that case I won't ask you anymore. Now let's bake something. It always gets your mind off things."
-
In the two days that followed, Louis actually got really busy at work, and Harry didn't have to make excuses for staying away. Although Louis did ask if Harry could come over and stay the night, but Harry excused himself saying that he was visiting his sister and so Louis didn't suspect a thing.
-
But on Wednesday, things changed a bit. Louis got off work in the evening and asked Harry if he wanted to grab pizza. Harry couldn't come up with a good excuse in time and truth be told, he didn't want to. He was already miserable and wanted to see Louis badly. Louis agreed to meet Harry at his house and when he finally reached Harry's door, he was surprised.
"What is all this?" Louis teased, "hoodie, beanie, sunglasses, mask, were going for pizza Harry, not to some mission as undercover agents."
"Oh I know, it's just, paps seem to get everywhere and I'm kinda tired, so-"
"Aw you poor thing, come here."
Louis spread his arms and Harry enveloped him in an instant, hugging Louis like his life depended on it. He didn't wanna let go, for the fear of not being able to do this again was eating him from inside.
Louis seemed to sense it.
"Everything okay Haz?" he asked, stroking Harry's curls. Harry's face was buried in Louis' neck and he hummed in response and Louis hugged him tighter.
After what felt like an eternity, Harry finally let go.
"Leave your car here. Let's walk."
Louis smiled but his brows furrowed the slightest. Harry seemed off.
They slowly walked down the lane to the pizza place 2 blocks away, their held hands swinging between them.
Louis tried to ask Harry if anything was bothering him, but Harry shoved it away, saying it's nothing and he was just tired.
For a moment Louis wondered if Harry regretted last night and was slowly distancing himself because of that. But that couldn't be right. Harry wouldn't be walking with him if he really did regret that.
Putting his worries aside, he tried to focus on the perfect weather and thought about staying back at Harry's place. Maybe some cuddles could make Harry feel better.
As they approached the destination, they suddenly heard some squeals. Looking to their right, they saw an excited bunch of people in the park next to the restaurant, running in their direction. They'd apparently spotted Harry over the fence and it surprised Louis how they'd managed to recognise him in this get up. Louis knew Harry was tired and tried to tug Harry inside quickly but to his surprise, Harry shook his hand free of Louis and stepped back. Louis was taken aback. If he could see Harry's eyes, he'd probably understand how apologetic Harry was, but those were hidden behind his shades.
"You go ahead, I'll come in a while."
Louis nodded and left, unable to give a proper reply, head clouded by a thousand thoughts.
Before disappearing inside the restaurant, Louis turned around once and saw Harry, mask off, talking to the fans and taking pictures, a smile plastered on his face.
He ordered a milkshake for him as he waited for Harry to join him.
As much as he tried not to think about what happened, it all kept coming back.
Why did Harry leave his hand like that? People already knew they were friends, it wouldn't have been a big deal.
Was Harry embarrassed of Louis?
Did he not want to be spotted with him?
Did Louis do something wrong?
Louis racked his brain to think of something he might have done that could upset Harry, but nothing came to mind.
The minutes were getting longer and Louis was growing impatient waiting for Harry.
His worst fears came to action when he got a call from Harry.
"Hey Lou," he panted, sounding exhausted.
"Harry, where are you? It's been almost thirty minutes, are they not leaving?"
"There's been a bit of problem, they weren't leaving, so I had to tell them that I'm heading back home. I didn't wanna crowd the restaurant. So I walked back towards home."
"Wha- are you kidding me?"
"I'm really sorry Lou, I'll make it up to you I promise. Please don't be mad."
Louis could feel Harry was lying, because the excuse was downright stupid.
Maybe his concerns were actually right. Maybe Harry was indeed avoiding him.
Louis cut the call with an abrupt "Yeah." He didn't know what to feel. Harry had left. Just like that. He was obviously upset at the fact that Harry was avoiding him, but he was more mad at himself. Why did he expect so much from Harry? Louis was clearly not Harry's type.
He tried to reason with himself, thinking that there surely must be a misunderstanding, something that was going on that Louis wasn't aware off. With the little hope he had left in him, he stood up and left for home. At least he's got Cliffy.
Harry, a sobbing mess, went straight to Niall's. He silently hoped Louis wouldn't be mad at him. He knew he'd upset Louis and that's the last thing he'd planned on doing but Harry didn't really have a control over things happening in his life anymore.
As if things could get any worse, even Niall wasn't home and his phone was out of reach. So Harry waited. It was an hour before Niall arrived and found Harry at his doorstep.
"Jesus, what happened?"
Harry burst into a sob upon seeing Niall and between hiccups and sobs managed to tell Niall everything.
"I told you to talk to him Harold. Avoiding him isn't a solution."
Niall let them inside and eventually stopped talking about it. Instead he made Harry a cup of hot chocolate and they both watched re-runs of How I Met Your Mother on the telly in silence.
Back in his apartment, Louis ate his dinner quietly and went to bed early. He didn't have a proper word to describe how he was feeling.
Last weekend had been so special. What changed.
He logged in to twitter from his burner account before going to sleep and the first post he saw, turned his emotions around pretty quickly.
Harry looked happy. Not uncomfortable, as he seemed with Louis. Maybe Louis was the problem.
For a brief second he wondered if he should talk to Zayn or Liam about it but then decided against it because Louis didn't like discussing problem of these type. If there was a misunderstanding, Harry and Louis would figure it out themselves.

Yours (Vampire!Ivar x reader)
A/N: This is my entry to @geekandbooknerd‘s Birthday Challenge. Happy Birthday, Hayley 💝
The prompt We are all someone’s monster (Leigh Bardugo, Six of Crows) is in bold.
@bluearchersstuff - Thank you for beta reading this for me 💖 It was the first time, it won’t be the last 😉
Let me know if you want to be tagged 😊
Moodboard made by the talented @gearhead66 ♥️
Summary: You hate Halloween and of course you hate Halloween parties. But who’s this handsome guy who’s looking at you?
Warnings: not my best work, I’m sorry.
Words: 1821
You roll your eyes, sighing at your own stupidity. For the umpteenth time tonight, you're wondering what you were thinking about when you agreed to come. Of course, Sofia is your best friend, and she is the one who asked you to go with her.
Yet, you should have known better.
You dislike Halloween. Scratch that. You hate Halloween and everything about it with a passion. You hate dressing up. You hate cobwebs, fangs, zombies and skeletons. You even hate squash soup, and that's saying a lot!
But yeah, your friend can be convincing when she has a mind to be. And that's why you're here – almost against your will, so to speak – at Ben's house. Ben with whom Sofia slipped away over an hour ago. Probably upstairs. You don't even want to think about what they're doing right now.
Anyway, you're here, and that's all that matters…
The pounding music is too loud, the people too drunk, the place too crowded. If it wasn't for the handsome stranger who hasn't stopped looking at you since you showed up, you wouldn't be here anymore.
Nervously pulling and tugging on the little black dress borrowed from Sofia – oh no, not a simple black dress, a black dress with fucking skeleton print – you make up your mind and head toward the makeshift bar. You need a drink if you intend to stay. Something strong, possibly.
A 'Vampire Cocktail' in hand, you slowly cross the room. With every step, you can feel the stranger's gaze upon you; and you know with unsettling certainty that if you look back at him, he wouldn’t lower his eyes.
He was apparently alone, does not talk to anyone, or dance, and didn't look at anyone but you.
You should feel embarrassed, or even upset, but you aren’t. Knowing that his eyes are staring at you like that is surprisingly pleasant. And you can't help but feel hopelessly drawn to him, almost magnetically, or magically. Because strangely, wherever you are in the room, the man is there, never more than a few steps away from you.
The room may be dark, but you still can see the otherworldly blue of his eyes. You're entranced, fascinated, mesmerized.
Giving him a shy smile, you quickly avert your gaze, blushing. As you raise back your head, the man is gone, but when a gloved hand brushes against yours, you know it's his, without a doubt.
"Shall we go out?" He asks with a sultry voice that sends shivers down your spine. Even if he gives you a questioning look, his hand gesturing toward the large patio door, you know it's a rhetorical question. You don't have a choice and you don't mind it. The stranger wraps a strong arm around your waist, leading you toward the backyard.
You follow him willingly, almost obediently, a small smile playing on your lips. He leads you without saying a word, and as soon as the patio door closes behind you, the only sound you can hear is the thud of his cane on the gravel.
"Better here, right?" He takes a seat on a porch swing, inviting you to do the same.
"I have been dreaming of this moment for so long." His voice is hoarse as he slightly leans toward you, boldly resting a hand on your knee.
Confused, you want to ask him what he means. After all, you met for the first time less than two hours ago. But you don't get the chance, since he speaks again. "Very nice dress, by the way."
Scrutinizing you in the bright moonlight, he looks at you shamelessly, his gaze stopping first on your neck, then your cleavage, your breast and finally your fishnet stocking-clad thighs.
Intimidated, you blush and say the first thing that pops into your head. "Your… your Halloween costume is a piece of art. It's so… real…"
"My… what?" Quirking a brow, the man looks at you in disbelief.
"Your…," your shaky voice gives away your nervousness, "Your Dracula costume is… magnificent."
You're not lying. His clothing is stunning. From his three-piece suit – obviously made of luxury fabrics – to his silk cape of extremely high quality, everything suggests that his complete outfit is undoubtedly very expensive. As for his cane, you're willing to bet that its snake-shaped handle is made of… gold, no less. In any case, it's impressive and the handsome stranger makes a vampire truer than nature.
Visibly taken aback by your last assertion, the man just stares at you with wide eyes. It's as if what you just said didn't make sense to him. When an icy wind swirls suddenly around you and makes you shiver, he eventually speaks sternly, almost as he were scolding you, his jaw tight. "This is not a costume."
You're baffled, puzzled, confused. 'This is not a costume?' What does he mean?
"What… I don't… Wha–" You sputter, unable to gather your thoughts. Your heart hammering in your chest, you feel a knot growing in your stomach. Something feels wrong. Something feels very wrong.
His piercing blue eyes staring into yours, you want to avert your gaze, overwhelmed and slightly scared. But when he speaks again, it's with a velvet like voice that soothes you immediately, erasing your discomfort. "Shh… It's okay…" You wonder for a brief moment how someone can change their mood so quickly. You don't dwell on it though, because when he gives you a closed-lips smile, gentle and sweet, it melts your heart and you realize that, as if by magic, your fear is gone, replaced by desire and attraction.
What strange power does this man have over you?
Slowly, one finger at a time, the stranger takes off his gloves and places them on the swing next to him, while staring at you the whole time.
As he reaches out, his hand just inches from your face, you can't resist, and you don't want to. The pull is too powerful, the longing too strong. You want him to touch you. You need him to and so you lean forward, craving for his skin against yours.
But as soon as his fingers graze your cheek, you freeze, bemused and appalled.
They are cold. Abnormally cold. Ice-cold. Colder than… death. You swallow loudly and then get up hastily. "I… I sh… should… go…" You stammer, panic flooding your body. You want to run away but the man doesn't give you the chance as he grabs your wrist, squeezing it tight. " That would be extremely rude when we've only just met, don't you think?" His voice is a whisper, his tone soft but you know you don't really have a say, nor a choice.
Slowly getting up, he leans on his cane, wraps his free arm around your waist and draws you closer. He's so unnaturally strong, you can't even move as a cold wave washes over you. "I'll be gentle if you do as I say." He mumbles, his mouth against your ear.
Questions plague your mind suddenly. Why is he so pale? Why can't you feel his breath on your face? Why are his eyes bloodshot? Why didn't you notice anything earlier? You're terrified now, aware of the danger with absolute certainty.
"Who… Who are you?" You don't even know how you manage to babble those words. You feel weak and unsteady on your shaky legs. If it wasn't for his firm grip, you would certainly have fallen down by now.
"It's okay, Y/N…" He says once again, and you want to believe him, despite your fear, despite the… cold. A little voice in your head whispers that you never told him your name, but it doesn't matter, not when he's looking at you with so much tenderness.
What is he doing to you?
"I'm Ivar." His reassuring voice is gentle, as is his smile. "Ivar Ragnarsson." He doesn't say anything else but it's enough. That's all you need to know. You're relieved. He's Ivar. Of course. Who else – what else – could he be? You've been so silly. All those strange things… The cold, his eyes, his breathing – or his lack of – there is necessarily a pragmatic explanation for each of them. The truth is you don't care. He's Ivar. A handsome and very considerate stranger that you want to get to know better, and that's enough. Everything is fine. It's okay, he's right.
"Ivar…", you eventually repeat softly, and you love the way his name rolls off your tongue. Chuckling, you can feel yourself relaxing in his embrace. "You're going to think I'm dumb, you know? I wondered for a moment if you weren't a…", you gasp, feeling shy and embarrassed, but Ivar just looks at you, patiently waiting for you to carry on, and that's what you do. "… A vampire, you know. But obviously you're not. You're just a guy my age, with a fantastic Halloween costume, and it seems that I can't think properly, because who would think you're some kind of monster? That's insane, and I'm so sorry, and now I'm going to shut up because I'm pathetically rambling and if I continue I'm sure you won't want anything to do with me and that would be a shame because I– Oh my god, sorry!!" Covering your mouth with your hand, you blush as you realize what you were going to say. 'Because I'd love to kiss you, touch you, feel you…'
What is he doing to you?
Ivar keeps quiet, a semi-amused smile on his face. Eventually, he closes his eyes and then tilts his head back. "So, you thought I was a… how did you say?... a monster…" You can almost hear his grin.
"I know," you say shamefully, "that's stupid! You're allowed to laugh at me, you know? I won't get mad, really. I don't know what went through my head. A monster! What a ridiculous thought!!"
Ivar giggles while keeping his eyes shut. "Maybe not. You know what they say… We are all someone's monster…"
And then, he opens his eyes. And everything goes faster.
His eyes turn black. A feral growl escapes his lips. His smile is a predatory one.
You can clearly see his pointy fangs.
And you feel weirdly calm. You're not surprised, and you're ready. You need him, all of him.
"I don't know if it's true…", you don't recognize his voice, hoarse and raspy, but you don't mind, as you don't mind when he pushes your hair away, his teeth already grazing the delicate skin of your neck.
"However,” He mutters as you arch against him unwittingly, "there is one thing that I can say for certain. I'm definitely yours."
And right after that, sharp fangs piercing down into the flesh of your neck, a burning pain lances through you, fading soon into an aching pleasure. You release a gasp, bucking your hips.
"Please, unravel me, Ivar."
What did he do to you?

Ruin Us
Chapter 14 to '100 Promises'
Previous Chapter | Next Chapter
Warnings: Swearing, nightmares, mentions of rape, death threats, panic attacks and I think that's about it
You hoped you didn't have nightmares.
But hoping for such a thing was wishful thinking.
"No... nonononono, silly girl! He's not here. You should check down there, I heard his father called for him," the voice taunted. You hated that voice. "Oh! Or maybe he's up there! Where you found his note! Maybe he really did it this time!" You stood in a dark room. The walls, floor, ceiling were pitch black. There was only light was a dim light where you stood.
You didn't know where the voice was coming from. All you knew was that it was taunting you.
"He's fine," you said, your hands shaking even though your voice sounded brave. "Is he?" The voice laughed. "Nonononononono! I think you're mistaken! He's over here!" The voice said, getting distorted with every 'no' it said. In the room, a screen in front of you lit up. It showed a video of you two being on the roof, and suddenly him falling off. You gasped. Another screen lit up. Another, another, another. And which each one, a new way of him dying.
You covered your ear. You couldn't stand it. All around you was noise. He was crying. He was screaming. He was begging you to help. You couldn't. You screamed, "Stop it! Make it stop!" repeatedly as if it would. All the screens shut off. You were panting, and shaking, tears you didn't know had formed fell from your eyes. You dropped to the floor. "You're a liar! He's fine!" You screamed out into the darkness. You heard slow dragging footsteps getting close to you. "Is he? Or are you lying again?" The voice said. As it got closer, you started to recognize it. "You're a liar liar pants on fire!" The voice sounded younger this time. Even still, you knew who it was. "Liar! Why are you such a liar!" It shouted, going back to sounding like him. Just distorted. The footsteps got even closer, and you could finally see the body of the person. The face was covered by the shadows. "I'm not a liar! Not! I'm not I'm not I'm not!" You shouted. "You are! Liar!" It hissed. Why was it saying it in his voice? It hurt so much more coming from him. "I-i didn't lie to you, I promise!" You whimpered. "You promised you wouldn't lie... why would you lie to me? I trusted you," he asked. It sounded like he was crying. "I-i didn't! You can still trust me!" You cried. "Why did you lie to me?"
You woke up with a start, sitting up. You gasped, holding a hand to your chest. You looked besides you. Niragi was still there. You started crying quietly, curling up next to him. "Hngh... eh? What's wrong sweetheart?" You heard Niragi groan sleepily. "I-it was so scary!" You whimpered, hiding your face in his chest. He wrapped his arms around you, holding you tightly. "Are you mad at me? I'm sorry I lied to you, I was scared I'm sorry please don't hate me," you rambled, tears soaking through his shirt. " 'M not mad... we talked about this already. I'm just happy you're ok... did you have a nightmare?" He asked. You nodded.
You had been having a lot of nightmares recently. Most having to do with Niragi. This was one of the worst ones.
You had had nightmares since you were a kid. You had them when you met Niragi. You've kept having them into your adult life.
You woke up with a start. Without thinking, you wiped the tears from your eyes, and got up from bed. You went over to the balcony, and started to climb down the stairs you had made.
You were soon on the ground, and ran over to Niragis house. His light wasn't on like it usually was. Was he a sleep? Then you saw a sticky note on his window. ''I'm in the tree house working on something. If you need anything don't be afraid to go back there. There's a flashlight in the bush by my window since I know you're scared of being alone in the dark. Be safe (Y/N)," you read the note. You sniffled, and found the flashlight.
Walking through the path at night was terrifying. Anything or anyone could jump out at any moment.
But the safety of the lights on in the tree house, made you run to it. You found the ladder, held the flashlight in your mouth, and began climbing. Once you got up there, you saw Niragi working on something on the desk. Just like his note had said. "Gi-gi..." you whispered. He turned around with a smile. Whatever he was working on on his desk, he hid from your view. "(Y/N), what's up?" He asked. You walked over, but he stopped you. "Here, let's go over there," he said, grabbing your hand. He lead you over to the beanbag chairs you had.
"So, what's up?" He asked once more. "Had a nightmare," you whispered. It must have been bad if you came out to look for him. "Do you want to talk about it?" He asked. "It was really scary this time! I-i didn't know if it was a dream, or if... if it had really happened, so I came to look for you. You always make me feel better," you whimpered, hugging him. He hugged you back, knowing you were probably not feeling the best right now. If you were crying it must be bad. "It's ok... tell me if you want," he whispered. You nodded, and he got up, leading you with him. First, he grabbed some blankets, and then he turned off the light. You followed him around, till he pulled you down on the beanbags again. "And you made me get up why?" You asked with a small laugh. "Because. Anyways... you still want to talk about it?"
"Are you ok? Do you want to talk about it?" He asked, yawning after he finished. You looked over seeing it was 2 am. You had woken him up. It seemed like you couldn't do anything right this night. You felt so utterly guilty, helpless, and tired that you just started sobbing. "I- I'm sorry imsorryimsorryimsorry," you apologized through hiccuping sobs. He looked down through sleepy eyes, and gently rubbed your back. "It's alright... you didn't do anything wrong sweetheart," he whispered. That nickname... Why was it making you feel weird?
"Sweetheart-"
"My sweetheart-"
"- sweetheart"
That's why. It's the nickname he had had for his ex girlfriends. He was tired, he probably wasn't thinking straight. No way would he call you that nickname if he weren't so tired.
It was reserved for his lovers. You knew you weren't his lover. It made you feel ...
Sad?
Why would you be sad, you liked him as a friend, didn't you?
"C-can... can I tell you... why I hadn't told you about what happened?" You whispered. "Of course. Go ahead," he said softly.
"If you tell that fucking loser what happened here today, you're dead. And so is he. Got it?" They threatened, gripping onto your hair tightly, pulling you up by it. You tried nodding, tears falling from your eyes. "I can't fucking hear you, slut," one spat, pulling a knife from his pocket. You flinched. "Y-yes! I got it!" You shouted through sobs. He let you go, your body falling to the ground. "Good. Let's go."
You lay there, unable to move. Not because of them, but because you couldn't. Getting up meant having to face the reality of what happened. Getting up would mean going home, cleaning up, and pretending this hadn't happened. Getting up would mean not telling Niragi. Getting up to you, meant letting them win.
But you had to get up.
So you did. Picking yourself off from the floor, you leaned on the tree behind you for support. You found your backpack, and grabbed it quickly, not wanting to stay here for a minute longer. Then you remembered that your clothes must be stained. You looked down to see blood running down your leg. "This really fucking happened...." you whimpered as tears filled your eyes. You fell to your knees, clutching your chest. You let out a loud scream as sobs racked through your whole body. You were scared, dirty, and guilty. All you could think about was having to face Niragi. Having to look at him, reminding him of the promises you'd made, but breaking one of them without him knowing. For the rest of your life. You felt horrible. You wanted to go home, and fall asleep forever.
"(Y-y/N)... I'm so sorry... I'm sorry I blew up at you about it sweetheart. I was being really fucking selfish darling. You... you've been through much more than I have. Yet you're still a better fucking person than I'll ever be. I... I had no right to be angry, upset, or disappointed in you. I didn't. It wasn't fair to you," he apologized, holding onto your tightly. You sniffled, snuggling into him further. '' S'ok... you didn't know," you whispered. "No. It's not. It's not ok at all. This is what I mean! You've only known people being cruel to you! Your father, the guys at school, people at work, goddammit people on the streets! And you've only ever been kind! Even when people don't deserve your forgiveness you give it to them! You might be cruel sometimes, but you've only been cruel to those who deserve it! My mother was kind! I had you! My grandmother! Your grandmother! I had a girlfriend in high school for a while! People have been kind to me, but I'm the worst fucking person! I don't... I don't deserve... your forgiveness," he yelled, sitting up, getting quieter at the end. He hated how he made this about himself. He didn't mean to, he really didn't. It just came out. "That's not true Suguru. You do deserve it. I've had people that were kind to me. I had you. I didn't need anything else. That was enough for me," you said, sitting up next to him. You put a hand on his shoulder, and smiled. "It's (Y/N) and Suguru against the world, forever and always right?" You giggled. "Yeah... (Y/N) and Suguru against the world... forever and always," he answered.
His thoughts were getting clouded over. You were there. You were so sweet. So nice. Adventurous, crazy, synical, caring, apathetic, confident, clever, funny. Everything at once. A contradiction of a woman. Perfect. That was another way to describe you. Everything he's ever wanted. He turned to face you, noticing how your eyes kept glancing at him.
You were also trapped in your thoughts. He had called you sweetheart and darling. While he was no longer tired. Two names reserved for lovers. What did that mean? Was he just overcome with emotion in that moment? He was your best friend. You did notice the butterflies in your stomach when he had said it. Each time seeming stronger than the last. A feeling of that's the way it was supposed to be. Like he was meant to call you those things. Like those words were made specifically for him to call you by them. You saw him staring at your face, trying to study you as well.
"Do you need something?" You asked with a smile. "Yeah, actually. You."
That was all he said, before pulling you into him. Your lips met with his own, and it felt like a puzzle was finally solved. A story getting it's happy ending. Magic. You kissed him back with just as much passion. It felt right. For his hands to be on you. For his lips to be on your own. For his skin to be on yours. It had felt right back then, and it still felt right now.
All the years that you had wondered why your relationships didn't work out were answered with this one kiss. Niragi. It was because you never loved them. You loved Niragi.
Niragi felt the same. Questions that were finally answered to him as well. He now knew his mother was right. He really did love you. That's why he never had interest in anyone. The girls he dated or slept with had never really been interesting to him. He only dated them to not make them feel bad. But really, it was you. You were the right choice...
And then he pulled away. Just as suddenly as the kiss had happened. "I... I need to go," he stated, getting off of your bed, out towards the door. "W-wait I-"
Before you could finish your sentence, he was gone. Out of the door, leaving you alone, confused, and sad. "Of course he regretted it... he doesn't like me that way. He was just in an emotional state that clouded his judgement... I... I am but a fool if I thought anything besides that," you whispered as tears filled your eyes.
As soon as he closed the door to your room, he ran into his.
"Fuck! Why did I do that? 15 years of friendship ruined. Gods I'm so dumb!" He yelled into his pillow. He didn't notice the tears that stained his pillow. He didn't care. 'Now you're truly alone. Great job. You're so good at ruining things Niragi. It should be your professional job! Niragi Suguru, professional opportunity ruiner! Niragi Suguru professional loner! You're so good at being alone, count that as the only thing you're good at!' The voice in his head taunted him. It taunted him for being so stupid to think a woman like you would ever love someone like him. For being alone. It brought up the fact he was alone so much, he felt his room grow smaller, and the breath in his lungs grow shorter. He couldn't see straight. His chest felt tight. The darkness in his room grew darker. Until he passed out.

Just A Game: Nope
Anime: My Hero Academia (SMAU)
LEVEL DOWN | MENU | LEVEL UP
A few hours later, he came around with some sushi.
Kaminari went to the bathroom and as he passed the hallway window, he noticed Shinso getting out of his car. So he raced back to warn Y/N.
She stood there for a few moments before taking a deep breath in. She said she would talk to him. It stunned everyone.
Judging by the last time she faced a conflict like this, the way she acted now was way different. She didn't want to ignore the problem, she wanted to face it. It was unusual for her to do so.
Kaminari offered to come. He was worried for Y/N. Everyone there was. But he felt his heart heave the most when she said she wanted to talk to him. Although, Y/N still insisted on going alone.
"What are you doing here, Shinso?" Y/N asked, crossing her arms over her chest.
Shinsos stopped on his tracks. He wasn't even inside yet and she was in front of him. "I... was gonna' drop off some lunch because you seemed a little out of it during our texts." He claimed, holding a bento box, "Are you okay?"
Y/N tilted her head to the side and mumbled out, "I'm fine. Although I was wondering when your part in Uraraka's video comes up." She watched as he stiffened in his shoes. "Because I watched the full 45 minute thing, and you were nowhere to be found."
"My parts were probably cut out." He told her, shrugging his shoulders, "Don't worry about it, I don't do much."
Y/N squinted at him before clenching the fabric of her shirt. "That's a lie, Shinso." She stated, "I talked to Uraraka. She said you had nothing to do with the video. And that you weren't even filming with them."
Shinso froze. He didn't think she'd go so far. But she did and now he was found out. "Okay..." He sighed out, dropping his shoulders into a slouch, "I'm... I wasn't in the video and I didn't help... I'm sorry, Y/N."
"Why did you lie to me?" She asked, lofting her head up to stare him in the eyes.
"Because I..." He started, but found himself struggling to finish. Todoroki's words rang in his head. 'You have to tell the truth to some of us'. Why did that stop him now?
"Because I didn't want you to know why I really missed out on our date."
"And why did you miss out on our date?"
A part of them wanted to be thrilled for announcing that it was officially a date, to the both of them. But they couldn't right now.
"I... drank too much coffee the night before because I wanted to make sure which one I liked before going out with you." Shinso stated. It felt like a weight off of his chest, but he knew just admitting this wouldn't make things any better.
No matter what, that little part of him wanted for Y/N to never know the real reason he don't make it to their date. Or maybe for her to forget now that she knows. Maybe it was his pride or his insecurity.
She only grit her teeth and pinched the bridge of her nose. On the inside, she found it kind of cute that he was going so far. But that doesn't mean lying was okay for that.
"Shinso, why are you keeping secrets from me?" She huffed out.
"Why not?" He retorts, his defenses pulling up, "Why should I always tell you the truth?"
This was his barrier. He'd become snarky and sarcastic in times when he was freaking the Hell out, like now. His mind was screaming at him for doing this whilst his mouth kept ratting off whatever bullshit he thought of. It was horrible and he knew full well that it was.
She was shocked. She took a step forward to him. "I thought we were finally getting somewhere, Shinso..." She mumbled out to him, blinking her eyes, "I really wanted to get to know you. Maybe we could've been friends or—..."
Shinso's heart was beating so fast at what she was saying. It's been weeks since they met. Shinso would be lying if he said his YouTube history wasn't filled of her videos and best stream moments. He adored her. Even from the start. His first 'research' task was when they went to the shops together. He liked how she seemed like a normal person and not some big time streamer. She was amazing and he knew that from the start.
Getting to know Y/N was like a very hard game that only few dare to play. You have to get passed her jokes and Daisuke talk to see that she's actually very caring and wants to please everyone. Under that, she was hard-working and driven. And beneath that, she was insecure of letting people in.
He could tell by the fact that she became so wary and walled in after he didn't show for their date. It took a while to break those walls down.
They had texted for weeks after that and he simply made it back to his respawn point where Y/N would make jokes about Daisuke being her child. He could go in with another life.
"I don't know if this is just a game to you, but this is my life, Shinso." Y/N stated, pulling Shinso out of his gaming thoughts, "I... really wanted to let you in. But not anymore."
Shinso could feel his embarrassed anger piling up. He didn't want the dam to break but it most definitely did. "You only wanted me in my life because you think I'm pretty, Y/N." He told her.
"That's not true!" She called out, feeling even more offended now.
"You don't know anything about me." He claimed, waving a hand in the air, "You only like me because you think I'm hot. Name one thing about me. Go on."
She looked angered by his statement, like she wanted to pound his face in. But when Y/N relaxed a little, she released her fists at her sides. She looked up to Shinso, furrowed brows.
"No. I don't want to name the things I know about you." She said lowly. She stepped forward, jabbing a finger into Shinso's chest harshly.
"Because fuck you, Shinso. I thought I knew you enough to say you were a good person, but now I see that I really don't know who the Hell you are. And if this is you, then I don't want to."
With that, she turned away and shut the door behind her. Looking up, she saw Jirou, Kaminari, Kirishima and Bakugou standing there. They most definitely were eavesdropping.
They didn't say a word, only making their way back up to the studio.
"Get off your phone, Y/N."
She looked up from her screen, seeing Bakugou standing in front of her. He had his hands on his hips, one of them with his drum sticks encased inside. He looked irritated and strict, making Y/N sigh and place her device back on the couch. She was going through her silly text messages with Shinso.
It had been two hours since he left, Y/N declaring that she didn't want anything to do with someone who wouldn't tell her the truth.
"Right, right, I gotta' focus." She said, rummaging through the piles of papers that had lyrics written on them, "I can't get distracted anymore!"
They were all pre-written, half of them Jirou's and a quarter each for both Y/N and Kaminari. Some of them were absolute shit, written at 4 AM with alcohol running through their systems. Others were well-written but only half done, abandoned as soon as another idea popped into their head. Only few were great and finished.
"Still mad about Shinso?" Kaminari asks from apposite her, sitting on the floor with his electric guitar on his lap.
Y/N nodded her head slowly. "Yeah. Yeah, I am." She responded quietly back, trying to re-read the sentence over again, "But that doesn't matter anymore. We're working on a video. I can't let you guys take all the work."
They all exchanged looks before Y/N grabbed her drink from the table. As she sipped, Bakugou clicked his tongue and stood up from his spot on the couch, moving to the drum set.
"That bastard doesn't deserve it." He claims, twirling the drum sticks in between his fingers, "He should've just told you the fucking truth from the start."
Y/N had reached out to Uraraka as soon as she realised that Shinso had lied. She asked the brunette if he was in the video at all, and she asked for the truth. Uraraka did tell her the truth. That Shinso wasn't a part of the video. At all. She also apologised for the things he did. Y/N said it wasn't her fault and that she didn't need to apologise.
"What's so great about him anyway?" Jirou questioned, tuning her bass guitar.
Y/N blinked a fee times at her. "He's just... so calm and I felt loose around him, like with you guys." She admitted, playing with the corner of the paper in her hand, "It was like he went out of his way just to talk to me. It was nice."
The smile she wore soon fell. Because she realised she was smiling. And needed to stop.
"I guess not anymore." She mumbled out, placing her hand on the table, "If he has to lie about filming a video as an excuse."
Everyone noticed how down she was. Usually when she was upset, they'd play games and stuff to help her. She would even play Minecraft, it was relaxing. Kaminari once deleted a whole lot of footage for an upcoming video and got Y/N to calm down by building her a flower garden in her world.
But she refused this time. She didn't want anyone to see how badly Shinso affected her. It was horrible. But she wanted to work.
"Maybe if we liked each other some more, then this wouldn't have happened." She whispers to herself.
Kirishima eyes a stack of papers. "Hey, what about this one?" He asked, trying to pull her out of her thoughts, "Have you done this one yet?"
Y/N plucked the paper out of his hands. She then shook her head upon reading it. "Nope. I haven't." She informed them, passing around the paper to Jirou, "Me and Jirou worked on it but we can't get the third verse right."
Once Kaminari got the paper, he gasped and searched for another one. "Wait, wait, wait!" He shouted out, waving the lyrics in the air, "I've got something perfect for this!"
He shoved the stack of papers into Y/N's lap. She chuckled, reading through them, "Wow, Denki, these are great. I bet we can use them for this song." She stood up and walked over to the other electric guitar. "Katsuki, can you follow along? Jirou has bass line and I have main plucking."
Bakugou nodded his head, ready to play.
The air seemed better now that she was distracted. Everyone silently cheered for Kirishima, thanking him for finding a solution to this unspoken problem.
They started playing, Bakugou falling in line with the drumming and Jirou teaching Kaminari the base chords.
Kaminari said the lyrics he wrote didn't quite suit his voice, which is why he dropped the song after getting to the chorus. He has asked Bakugou to sing it and he refused. He said he'd kill him if he asked again. So Kaminari asked Kirishima, who sheepishly accepted after the blonde assured him that his voice fit perfectly.
"Y/N, you doing okay?" Kaminari asked, hand on his hip, "You seem more tired than usual."
She waved her hand. "I keep messing up the plucking. It's freaking hard to keep it in line while singing." She sighed out, stretching her fingers out.
"Why don't I play the plucking while you sing?" Kirishima offered, crossing his arms over his chest as he stood by Bakugou, "You sing the chorus' and the first and second verse. So I can play the rest to take it off your hands. Easy."
Y/N smiled, looking at him with a grateful gaze. "That'd be great, Eijiro. Thank you." She said, handing him the electric guitar. As she began teaching him the chords and the plucking, Jirou, Kaminari and Bakugou stood by.
"Really brings you back, huh?" Kaminari said, staring at them. They all looked so happy.
"Yeah. Back in high school, when all this was just a pipe dream." Jirou laughed quietly, shaking her head. She would've never dreamed of having her own studio.
Bakugou hardened his glance at Y/N. "Should've kept her safe." He told them.
Jirou and Kaminari shared a look.
"There's only so much we can do for her. She's bound to fight for herself at some point. Y/N's strong."
Fun Fact: Y/N and Jirou have a bunch of things they've worked on. Jirou's played alongside her in many video games, sometimes with Mina too. And Y/N's featured in many of Jirou's songs. 'On Board Bebop' is Y/N's most recent project that her fans begged her to make with Jirou featured, which is a pile of songs she wrote with her passion and emotions. That's because the way 'Cowboy Bebop' ended made Y/N feel different than she was before she watched it.

The Missing Piece - Ch 10
Worries 🌸
gang! au / ceo! au
characters: dabi x f. oc, lov
status: ongoing
read on ao3 here.
I spend hours turning in bed, replaying Dabi's words to me earlier.
He cares about me.
Right?
That's the only way I could interpret what happened. He got angry on my behalf, even though he didn't look it.
My cheeks redden as I recall how warm he was to hold, despite most certainly being the most awkward hugger I've ever met. I wrap my arms around myself, trying to remember what it was like.
It wasn't a short hug...but I wish it was longer.
Snap out of it, I tell myself with a groan.
I'm so touch starved I can't believe a hug from Dabi would make me feel this way.
I jolt in bed when I hear the front door open.
"Aliyah?"
Within moments, my suite mate bursts into my room, jumping onto my bed.
"Who is he?!" She screams with glee. "That's your boss?!"
My heart paced with excitement. "Yeah. Nice, right?"
"Nice?!" She jumps up again. "He's so hot - but something about him -"
She suddenly stops.
"What?" I ask her cautiously.
But after a few moments of consideration, she shrugs. "I don't know, forget it. I feel like I've seen him before."
I shrug. "Might have run into him at a corporate event or something? The company may not be all that but Dabi looks like he's been around."
She nods. "You're right, that's probably it. And oh my god," Her voice picks up, that excitement creeping in again. "Mr. Lane's face! He's so pissed you don't even know, oh my god, he's probably still fuming! He didn't even last for the whole dinner, he called his new secretary and told her to run a background check on Mr. Dabi and the company."
"He's a psycho," I laughed. But then a troubling thought occurred to me. "But he wouldn't do anything to the company, would he?"
Aliyah shrugs. "Beats me. You can never tell with Mr. Lane."
I shake the thought out of my head. Choosing to focus on the good (and the fact that Aliyah is here early for once!), I eagerly share what life has been like for me at the Blaze. I leave out certain details of course, especially those conferencing Dabi and company intel, but I'm overjoyed by Al's interest.
And when we finally say goodnight, hours after we were supposed to, I lay in bed again - already thinking of tomorrow.
- --
"Dabi won't be in today," Tenko tells me in the morning.
I pout.
"Why not?"
He shrugs. "He told me and Jin to put a pause on new intake for the next few days so I don't think there's much to do, either. Honestly, if you want to go home from now, you probably can."
He didn't ask for any updates or give me instructions this morning either. I thought maybe he was waiting for me to come in to let me know what we'd be doing today.
He said he'd see me tomorrow, I remember. I try not to feel disheartened. He's a CEO, after all.
It's just...I was looking forward to seeing him today.
"You gonna go?" Tenko snaps me out of my thoughts.
"Oh," I say apologetically. "Nah, I'm used to being here all day. I'll try to make myself useful somehow."
I leave him and head for Dabi's office and go through his correspondence, rescheduling any meetings he would have had today or tomorrow for later in the week. If he isn't in the office today, he'll likely want to be briefed whenever he comes in. He won't be in the mood for a meeting.
Hours and hours pass as I spend my time overlooking the company employees and making a record of potential clients.
After I finish a few late night phone calls for Dabi and make notes of the most urgent things he should know when he comes in tomirrow, I decide to go find the others.
But when I walk into the lounge, the only ones I find are Atushiro and Toga. They're huddled together on the couch, talking in hushed tones.
It is pretty late at night. Perhaps they went home already.
"Hey guys," I say with a smile, carrying a few sodas with me. Immediately, they sit back and put some distance between them.
"Hey," Toga says. They accept the sodas with a smile.
"What've you been up to?" I ask them. I pop open my can. "It feels like there isn't much to do today."
"Why do you sound upset about that?" Atsuhiro comments with a laugh.
I get flustered at that. "I know, I know. I'm a workaholic. I don't know what to do with my life outside of work."
"Go home!" Toga says with a groan. "You've done more than enough today! Dabi specifically didn't give us work and you're over here doing extra."
I groan. "I don't want to go home though, what would I do?"
They both laugh. "Normal people things! Watch a show, paint your nails, order Chinese - you know, hashtag self care or whatever."
I roll my eyes, stalling for time. I don't know why, I just don't feel like going home just yet.
I put my phone down and lay back on the couch.
"Maybe I'll just stay here."
"Go home!" They shout.
I laugh and put my legs down.
"How come you guys aren't going home?"
The two of them share a look.
"We have things to take care of later tonight." Atsuhiro says.
That makes me sit up. "Ooh what kind of things? For Dabi?"
He nods.
I feel a pang in my chest. Why did he give them something to do and not me?
But they've been here longer, I try to reason with myself. They're friends and partners. He's known them for years. If anything urgent comes up, of course they'd be the ones he reaches out to.
I think quickly. "Is he coming in later or something?"
Toga hits me. "No, he isn't. Are you trying to find an excuse to do more work?"
I shake my head with a laugh, but I secretly feel...disappointed. It's not that I want more work, I just...was hoping to see him. Work just happens to be the only way I can do so.
Of course he isn't coming in later, though. It's already 10pm. Most of the company clocked out hours ago. And he undoubtedly has things to do if he hasn't come in.
He didn't even have time to respond to my text.
"Okay," I sigh in defeat. The two high five each other, and I pout as they lead me downstairs.
"I'll be back tomorrow," I tell them quickly as I leave. "If you guys need anything at all, just shoot me a text!"
"We'll be good, don't worry about us!" They wave.
I shove my hands in my pockets and make my way to the bus stop.
They'd text me, right?
But something dawns on me just before I get to the bus.
I freeze, my fingers digging around.
But there's nothing.
I pat all around me and check my purse for good measure.
"Shit, I forgot my phone!
I quickly run back to the Blaze.
---
I enter the marble doors again, only for some reason there's something different in the air.
As I make my way upstairs, I hear a murmur of activity. There's a frown on my face as I try to figure out what is going on.
I head up to the lounge, but this time it is empty and the lights are all off.
The only sounds come from Dabi's office at the end of the hall.
Is something wrong? I wonder with a frown.
I make my way to his office, my heart pounding in place.
With a single knock, I turn the knob. And my heart falls as I lock eyes with Dabi sitting behind his desk.
Dabi immediately sighs, rubbing his eyes in exhaustion. "Shit."
"What's going on here?" I ask.
Standing around him are Tenko, Jin, Toga and Atsuhiro, the last two staring back at me with wide eyes.
No one answers me.
I look from one face to another.
Eventually Dabi looks up at Jin, an unforgiving glare in his eyes. "What the fuck happened to she left?"
Jin shrinks under his gaze. "That's what Toga told me!"
I feel my heart fall. Was he avoiding me?
"Do...you not want me around?" I swallow.
I don't look at him as I ask, afraid of what I might find in his face. So he was. I glance around, hooking my purse on my shoulder and turn around. "Sorry, I just came back because I forgot my phone. I'll- I'll go-"
Dabi pushes his chair back. "Rina, wait-"
But when I look back at him, I gasp.
My hand unconsciously covers my gaping mouth.
"Dabi, you're- you're..."
He's bleeding.
Not a drop or two this time.
But a circle of red adorns his lower left side. He holds a now equally red rag to the area to stop the flow. I look at him in horror but he turns his face away from me.
"Fuck," I hear him mutter through gritted teeth.
"Dabi, what's-" I feel my eyes water.
I immediately run up behind his desk, my hand clutching the one he holds to his wound.
"What's wrong? You're gonna be okay, right? What do I do- we need to take you to a hospital - Toga, help me! You're gonna be okay Dabi, I'm here."
Toga shuffles forward but Dabi glares at her. "I'm not going to a fucking hospital, I'll be fine." I feel bad for the way he yells at her. After all, it was my suggestion. "I just need to stop the bleeding."
I turn back to look at the others, but the lack of shock on their faces stuns me.
"Did you guys know about this?"
Atsuhiro runs his neck and avoids my gaze too. Suddenly the frequent questions about when I'd go home made sense.
"I see." My voice cracking. "Is that why you guys were waiting for me to leave?"
"Well, that NNTV douchebag-"
"Toga!" Dabi growls.
I turn to Dabi, my blood turning to ice. "Does this have something to do with Mr. Lane?"
He ignores me. "Take everyone and leave." He tells Toga. When they don't move immediately, Dabi snaps. "Now."
The team scrambles out the room. If it weren't the circumstance, I'd laugh when Jin stumbled. But as soon as we're alone, I turn back to him and clutch the lapels of his jacket.
"Don't lie to me," I say. "Please Dabi."
The man groans and sits back on his chair, as if there wasn't blood dripping out of his side. I pull up a seat and sit next to him, my hand closing in on his, holding the rag in place.
"We're gonna have issues with Lane," Dabi mutters. "I uh, went to see him today. But...it's like he was expecting me."
"Why would he be expecting you?" My mouth drops. "You mean to tell me Mr. Lane did this to you?"
Dabi sighs.
When he takes to long to reply, I press the rag harder.
"Hey!" He grimaces. "Okay, okay. You know how I told you I have business to take care of on the side?"
"Yes."
"Well. I think he found out a couple things."
I lean in closer. "My friend told me about that! She said he ordered a background check on you, he wanted to know everything."
Dabi shrugs. "Yeah well, if he knows who I am, then he doesn't just have everyday knowledge. He probably deals with shady shit too."
Too?
My heart pounds in fear.
"And who the hell told you to go pay him a visit!" I hit his arm. Dabi immediately groans and I recoil. I cautiously touch his arm. "Sorry."
He shakes his head.
I motion for him to go on as I find a little bowl of water under his desk.
As he talks, I absentmindedly take the rag and rinse it into the bowl. He probably intended to do that himself had I not come in. I squeeze the blood out and just as I am about to press it against his skin, I wince at the sight. The blood was dripping out slowly, meaning the wound wasn't too deep. But that's clearly a stab wound. Dabi got close enough to someone that they were able to pull a knife on him.
What if it had been worse? What if I had lost him today?
"Dabi," I interrupt him. He looks down at me, the blue in his eyes could be green in this light. I softly brush my thumb against the wound. His eyes darken in response, and I feel my heart ache at the way he grabs my hand. "Stop."
"Who told you to go to him, you idiot," I punch his arm again. "What the hell were you thinking."
He grips both my hands now. "I had to send a message."
"What kind of stupid message was worth this?"
"Now he knows not to mess with my people." Dabi replies. My eyes go wide.
I'm part of his people.
The thought brings a blush to my cheeks and I get angry at myself. Look where that got him.
If he is like this after hearing one conversation between me and Mr. Lane...
"Besides..."
I wipe my eyes into my elbow.
"He probably won't be taking any more cars for a while now," Dabi smirks. "If that guy of his didn't pop up out of nowhere.."
He leaves that open ended.
Did Dabi really plan on hurting Mr. Lane?
The thought sends a shudder down my spine.
Just who was Dabi.
What did Mr. Lane find?
"Were you going to..." I whisper. "..you know."
Dabi looks completely nonchalant, as if he had gone to leave Mr. Lane flowers or something.
"I was just gonna scare him." He says, and despite everything, it sounds honest. "Sure, he didn't think I'd go that far. But I miscalculated too. Now I gotta fuck him up before he tries to fuck me up."
I swallow. Is this what Dabi meant by information comes with a cost over here?
"I'm sorry Dabi," I tell him, my tears falling over my now bloody hands. "I didn't want you speaking to Mr. Lane and if I-"
"Relax," Dabi cuts me off. "I'm going to make use of that guy. I'm just trying to find the right moment."
I let go of the rag.
"You can't be possibly planning on seeing him again."
Dabi doesn't respond.
The tears start to fall again. "You promised me I wouldn't need to worry about you," I say, my voice getting shakier and shakier. "You said goodbye and see you tomorrow, knowing you were fucking going to Mr. Lane today!"
Dabi looks at the door in alarm, and his eyes narrow. He grabs the hand I'm waving in his face and I could tell his patience was running thin. "Rina, I'm trying here. If you saw what Mr. Lane looks like now you wouldn't be so worried about me. But I'm gonna need you to lower your voice."
I turn my face away from him and wipe the tears from under my eyes. Dabi suddenly gives me a weird look and I glance at my hands.
Fuck.
I grab a napkin and rub the blood off my face until I can wash it off later.
He watches me cautiously. I don't meet his eyes as I take the rag off to rinse it again.
"Stop moving," I mutter, lightly dabbing his skin with the wet cloth.
Dabi hisses.
"Sorry. Does it hurt?"
Dabi groans. "I can take care of myself, you know."
"Just...shut up. Stop moving so much."
Dabi grows silent.
For the next half hour, I continue my ministrations, avoiding his gaze. I know having me so close to him makes him slightly uncomfortable. But I don't care.
"Take off your shirt," I tell him once the bleeding seems to stop. "I'll try to wrap it up."
"No."
I look at him, my eyes ever more hurt.
"No," He repeats, his voice more stern. "I'll do it myself later."
Without thinking, I lean against him and close my arms around his torso.
"I know you keep saying not to worry but what am I supposed to do when you walk in looking like this?" I whisper against his chest.
He looks up at the ceiling, trying to hold his breath.
"You've gotta stop doing that, princess."
My heart beats faster.
"Or what?" I challenge him, hugging him tighter.
He glances at my lips ever so briefly and looks away.
"You'll fuck me up."
I ignore him and hug him anyway, not caring about the stains that undoubtedly cover my shirt now.
I don't know long we stay that way.
Dabi doesn't hug me back this time...but he doesn't move away either.
I wish I could know what he was thinking. What he means by Mr. Lane knowing who he is, and what uses he may have for him. What he did to him today and how he was able to slip free.
But every day, I discover that more and more secrets exist between us.

good little girl || mark lee
Word Count: 1.8K
Type: angst, fluff, not really mature themes but maybe you'd disagree 🤷🏼♀️
Warning: a little cursing, mentions of alcohol, i can't think of anything else
Description: Mark is a bad boy, but you're really not so convinced
A/N: lol, this is inspired by the song "Good Little Girl" from Adventure Time :) Also, I've been informed the ending is rude, so should I do a part 2???
♡♡♡♡
"I still don't see why you want to meet up with Mark and Jeno," you said to Yeji as you walked down the road with her to the bar the two boys said to meet them at. "They're bad news."
She grinned at you. "That's half the fun," she teased, making you giggle softly. "Besides, they're not so bad and Jeno is actually really sweet to me."
The way she talked about him...there was a twinkle in her eyes. Who were you to deny her that happiness? You would support her and Jeno and be there for her when she needed you.
"Still, why did I have to come?"
A snort left her mouth. "Because you and Mark clearly have the hots for each other. I want you to give him a chance."
You didn't really care to give him a chance. Mark Lee was not someone you wanted to get involved with. If you ever brought him home to your parents, they'd probably have an aneurysm. He just wasn't your ideal guy.
"Shit!" Jeno cursed as he and Mark ran out of the bar just as you and Yeji were arriving.
The two of you stopped, wondering what was happening. They rushed to you and Mark's hand wrapped around yours. "Run!" he instructed.
Jeno and Yeji were already ahead of you. You ran along with Mark, not asking questions. You could hear yelling behind you and you looked to see a small group of scary looking guys chasing after you.
"Hey," Mark said, his voice breathy from running. You looked at him. "Don't look at them. Focus on running."
You nodded, listening to his words. At the top of the hill, you guys met Jeno and Yeji. The guys were, surprisingly, pretty slow. Maybe they were drunk. "Okay, we need to lose them," Jeno panted.
Mark nodded in agreement, glancing to make sure you guys still had time. "Let's split up and meet at the spot."
"Got it."
With that, Jeno and Yeji went left and Mark once again took your hand, leading you right. "Mark, where are we going?" you asked as he pulled you along and you blindly followed him. Your legs had been cold earlier from wearing a skirt, but all the running certainly changed that and you were glad you had worn shorts under.
He glanced behind you guys, seeing a couple of the guys spotted him. "Don't worry," he merely said, not telling you they were coming. "We'll be okay."
He led you guys into a convenience store. "Mark?" the guy behind the counter questioned.
"We need to hide, Jungwoo."
The boy nodded, unlocking the supply closet for you two. Once you were inside, he shut it and locked it from the outside. The space was pretty tight. There were metal shelves, a desk, a computer showing the security cameras, and a chair. You watched as the guys rushed in, beginning to look around. They went to Jungwoo, who pointed in the opposite direction in which you guys came. Nodding their heads, they left.
Mark didn't seem to care. "Can't we leave now?" you asked.
He shook his head. "Not yet. We need to give them time to get away from us so we can leave. They could always come back, too."
This was clearly not his first time running from scary looking thugs. "Why are they even chasing us? What did you guys do?"
"They were creeping on this girl and Jeno decided to grab the stupid beer nozzle from behind the bar and spray them," he informed you.
Well, at least Jeno had good intentions. You hoped he and Yeji were okay. Turning to look at him, you caught him staring at your legs. You wanted to call him out, but you thought doing so in a supply closet was a bad idea...especially with the lack of space.
After another five minutes or so, he texted Jungwoo to let you guys out. "Here, wear this," Mark said, grabbing a bucket hat and putting it on your head. He gave Jungwoo some money for it. "Thanks for your help."
"No problem. You need to start being careful, Mark," he told him. "I'll text you if I see them again."
Mark smiled before you two left. "Where are we going? You guys just mentioned some spot," you commented, sticking close to Mark.
He glanced back, relieved to see no one was there. "It's just this old apartment complex Jeno's cousin owns. We have a unit where we go sometimes if we're being chased or just need to escape life," he informed you.
You nodded and followed him there, hoping Yeji and Jeno would already be there.
♡♡♡♡
Thankfully, the two were waiting outside for you guys. "I'm so glad you're okay!" Yeji exclaimed as the two of you hugged. "How'd you guys get away?"
"We hid in a supply closet at this convenience store," you told her. "His friend was working and helped us."
She nodded, glad Mark had protected you. Jeno felt a raindrop hit his head before a few more began to fall. "It's gonna start coming down good, we should get inside," he said, leading the way. "We should probably stay here for the night. We don't know how long those guys will try looking for us or if they got friends to help. It'll be safer this way."
Yeji seemed more than happy with the idea and you certainly weren't going to leave her alone with them, so you silently gave in.
The unit was pretty empty, but you weren't surprised. It wasn't where they lived, it was just like an emergency escape place. Jeno and Yeji disappeared to one room, so you were able to figure out you'd be staying with Mark.
"Come on," he said, leading you to his room.
Just like the rest of the unit, the room was basically empty. There was a mattress on the floor with a blanket, a guitar in the corner of the room, and what looked like a lighter by the window. Maybe it was for his cigarettes.
The rain was really coming down. Mark went to turn the lights on, but nothing. Of course the storm caused the power to go out...as if the night wasn't already awful.
Going to the closet, he grabbed something. It sounded like glass. When he turned around, you saw a few candles of varying sizes. He went to the window, grabbing the lighter before setting the candles down on the ground. He lit them, bringing a nice, soft light into the room.
Walking to the window, you watched the rain pour, kind of glad you guys had come there. Turning to Mark, you caught him staring at your legs again.
"They're just legs," you told him, tugging at your skirt.
He glanced up at you from the floor, grinning slightly. "They're distracting," he told you, standing up with a soft grunt. "Here, wear these."
He pulled some sweatpants from the closet, holding them out to you. You really didn't want to wear them. "Wear them or freeze," he told you softly.
With a sigh, you took them. "Turn around," you told him.
"Fine, fine."
You quickly took off the shorts and skirt, pulling the pants on. They were comfortable and you were actually glad you took them. Mark took you skirt and shorts, folding them and putting them in the closet before he took his own pants off and put some sweats on, removing his leather jacket as well.
He walked over, grabbing his guitar before going to the mattress. Sitting down, he leaned against the wall before he began strumming. You hadn't known he played, truthfully.
"Good little girl, always picking a fight with me. You know that I'm bad, but you're spending the night with me. What do you want from my world? You're a good little girl," he sang as he strummed.
You rolled your eyes, but you were secretly surprised that he could sing. "You know, you're not so bad, Mark Lee. I can tell you're not," you told him as he continued strumming. "You probably told Jeno to spray those guys."
Smart girl. How did you figure it out? "Not so bad? I see mothers cower on the streets when they see me. Professors cry when they see me on their class roster. I'm not good news."
Okay, he was clearly exaggerating. "Why try to seem like a bad guy? What's wrong with being good?"
He didn't respond and merely smirked before singing, "And they're looking right through your anatomy. Into your deepest fears, baby, I'm not from here. I'm from the Nightosphere. To me, you're clear, transparent. You got a thing for me girl, it's apparent."
A soft laugh left his mouth as he saw your expression. Really, you were just internally kicking yourself for even thinking he was cute. Mark Lee with his stupid, wavy blonde hair, almost innocent eyes, and adorable smile.
You walked over and sat next to him, making him stop strumming. "Why is your hair this color?" you asked, your hand going to the blonde locks and fiddling with them slightly.
"It was a bet and I lost."
Looking into his eyes, you didn't like the way he was looking at you. Before, when he was staring at your legs, there was lust. This time, however, his expression was soft. It freaked you out even more somehow.
You asked softly, "What was the bet?"
He grinned slightly. "That I wouldn't fall for you," he practically whispered. His eyes flickered to your lips, wanting to know how they felt on his own...how you tasted.
It was late, you were tired and delusional, so that was your excuse for kissing him. Truthfully, he was surprised, but he didn't argue and kissed you back. Your lips were soft and you tasted like strawberries.
♡♡♡♡
When Mark woke up the next morning, you were gone. His sweatpants were folded up next to him and your skirt and shorts were no longer in the closet. Leaving the room, he found Yeji and Jeno in the kitchen. They seemed happy, but their expressions fell a bit when they saw Mark.
"Sorry, Mark, she said she had to go," Yeji told him. She wasn't sure what happened, but she figured something had happened between you two.
He nodded his head, trying to pretend like he didn't care. Going back to the room, he let out a sigh as he sat down on the mattress. Why did his chest hurt?
Why was he upset you were gone? Shouldn't he be happy? You guys had made out the night before and he woke up without having to deal with you. Wasn't that a bad guy's dream? Getting what he wanted without consequences?
If that was the case, why wasn't he happy? Why was he wishing you were still there? And why did his chest hurt so much? Certainly he wasn't experiencing heartbreak...right?

Sweater Weather
I enjoy the headcanon of Doofus Rick having a variety of sweaters. And after looking at stock photos, I was inspired to write this fic. Hope you guys like it.
In this fic Ricks sweater causes some conflict.
____________
In the great vastness of space, one could learn the true meaning of loneliness. For miles upon miles, floating upon nothing, you could say it was like sailing across the sea. Yet, unlike the salt or crashing waves of the ocean, you two would navigate across star systems or avoid asteroid fields, while at the same time enjoy the peace which comes from being somewhere uncongested. However, as fascinating as it was to go on intergalactic, space adventures, one of the things you didn't enjoy was the extreme temperature changes; most of the time, you'd stay in the ship or stay home if a planet's climate was too cold for your taste, but on this occasion, Rick needed an extra pair of hands when you two stopped on Mars after spending most of the day at the Jerryboree.
After Zeta-7 had traded a few items of his own to obtain what he came for at a reduced price, you two ran as fast as you could back towards the ship, but by the time the ship was out of the Martian orbit, you were chilled to the bone. Rubbing your arms, you shivered. "I wonder if I'll ever get used to this."
Your breath came out like a cloud of smoke and the cold that had seemed mild at first had numbed your face and extremities. Rick turned up the heat, as well as turned on the seat warmers and offered you a freeze-dried Phytonian branch worm, but you passed on the offer. You knew it would have warned you up straight away, but the last time you tried one of those things, you had a stomach ache for three days. Concerned, he placed the ship on autopilot and did his best to search around in the back seat for anything you could use to warm up, but then as though it struck him on the head he groaned. "Darn it, I-I forgot that I removed the spare blanket to wash it."
"Where is it now?"
"I-I left it in the dryer."
You thought of telling him that it wasn't his fault he forgot it since you had distracted him this morning with a video about ninja cats, but it wouldn't have helped the situation. "Ricky," you tried to ease him with a weak smile but your teeth chattered. "it's not a big deal. Besides, we're not that far from home."
However, he wasn't convinced. You weren't as experienced when it came to space travel, but you knew well enough of the possible dangers associated with extreme body temperature shifts. The chill you had spread deep into your bones until you thought you'd rattle if shaken; a lick of fear traveling down your spine but otherwise you didn't feel too bad. Nonetheless, Rick was concerned for your well-being, and knowing you two were hundreds of thousands of miles away from your dimension's version of Earth, he made a decisive decision and started removing articles of his own clothing. "Whoa, what are you doing?"
With a blush, he handed you not only his knitted Jerry sweater but also his labcoat; leaving him in a thin t-shirt which had a snoopy patch on the right shoulder; how cute. "I hope it'll s-suffice until we get home."
"But what about you? What are you going to wear?"
Flashing you a stern look which left little room for argument, you slipped on his sweater and lab coat, and was delighted to feel a little more like yourself and relaxed by its scent; it was his essence; that of vanilla, of his home, and something you couldn't quite think of; chemicals perhaps. "Hmm, your clothes are a lot more comfortable than I expected them to be. How um…..how do I look?"
Turning down the lights and switching back to manual, he nodded. "It suits you m-mi corazón."
You admired its softness and passed your hand over the tight, twisted knit. It was a lovely shade of light sage green, and had a picture of a smiling Jerry holding a titanic ship model; you thought it was sweet that it was a picture of his friend. So many things this man-made or owned had a purpose or a story; this piece was most likely made to brighten up the day that the Jerrys in his care were having. Your Rick really was a good man; better yet because he saw the value in regular folk who probably didn't see it in themselves. "I like your clothes, Rick," you commented; your heart warmed by his goodness. "they seem to carry bits of you in them."
"Th-that could be said about any piece of clothing that's been worn. They carry bits of our DNA." he stated matter of factly.
"Eh….that's... I mean I get that, but that's not where I was going with this. I meant that they're soft and warm like you Ricky. You enjoy dressing comfortably, don't you? You own a variety of sweaters."
"Wh-who doesn't? I've sort of been dressing th-the same way for the last twenty or so years but when I met you, I had more opportunities to dress up. However, the older I get, the more often I'm in need of something a-a bit warmer and gentler on my skin. Actually, some of my clothes are locked to my particular genetic signature so that they'll or adjust according to the weather or climate. That way, I'll have less t-to carry on certain excursions."
"Incredible, that'll certainly come in handy, but can I ask you something?"
"Y-yes?"
"I know you're focused on driving," you started, wondering if your assumptions were correct. "but is there a reason why you haven't looked me in the eyes since we left Mars, or am I just thinking too much?"
He visibly stiffened, but he still didn't face you. Rick seemed troubled, for he tightened his grip on the wheel. Maybe this hadn't been the best time to ask, but what else could you have done? If you didn't ask, how else would you have known? Still, if you had waited, you would've noticed the red light blinking on the control panel sooner. It was a caution light, but you weren't so concerned, but you should've been.
Rick had opened his mouth to answer, with a faraway look in his eyes, but in the blink of an eye he made a sharp left turn around some space junk; jostling you two as well as the cargo. That was another thing you hated about space was Earth's contribution to its pollution. Unknowingly, you two had deviated from the usual course by a few miles, leading you two into a dangerous situation. Whether it was the fault of his navigation equipment or his lack of focus you didn't know, but it took a couple of minutes of evading space junk before you two could breathe a sigh of relief. And at the first opportunity, he switched the ship back to autopilot. "I'm s-sorry about that. I'm usually a better driver." he started, scratching the back of his neck as he glanced out the window in search of an answer in the emptiness of space. You couldn't see anything except for a few stars and the Earth straight ahead, but you had a feeling that where he was looking was somewhere you couldn't see. When he was ready, he turned around in his seat to glance at you, but then quickly turned back to face the steering wheel. How odd. "T-t-to answer your question," he stammered. "y-you're not thinking too much. I've just been distracted."
"Oh, okay."
"Are y-you alright? Nothing hurts does it?"
"I mean, other than feeling wide awake now, no harm was done I guess, but what happened? It isn't like you to let your mind wander while we're out here. Rick, would you like me to take over the wheel so you can straighten out your thoughts?"
"No, it's not - I can do it. I got this."
"Are you sure?"
"Mhm, as long as I-I focus on the wheel."
He hadn't really answered your original question, but since you guys nearly avoided death, it probably wasn't a good time.
________
He parked the ship in his garage, and since it wasn't that late, you two walked over to your home. Rick hadn't said much since earlier, but you figured he'd let you know what was bothering him later. As soon as you crossed the threshold of your home, you started a pot of coffee for Rick to drink when it was ready. Then, you got a blanket from the closet and offered it to him just in case he was cold, but he didn't care for one. He was still in a mood, and you wondered if the reason you'd upset him was that you were still wearing his sweater. "You probably want this back right?"
Slipping out of his sweater and labcoat, you felt the temperature difference immediately and took up the blanket you had taken out and wrapped it around yourself. "Thanks for letting me borrow them. I'll be sure to pack something with me next time."
"I'm n-not sure if that's such a-a good idea." he said with seriousness.
"What do you mean?"
The lines around his eyes deepened, as well as the creases of his forehead, and there was a pensive cloudiness of his usually electric blues. Frustrated, he bit down on his lip almost hard enough to make it bleed. "B-because it's distracting."
"What?"
He continued. "I-I should've brought you home first or gotten the parts a different time."
"But I thought you wanted help." you sniffled.
"Y-you don't understand."
"What's there to understand?" you retorted; sinking into the couch as tears stung the back of your eyes, and threatened to come out. "You...you don't want me to help you anymore? I thought we were a team."
Your saddened state shifted his sour mood, and he apologized. "Gosh, please don't cry mi corazón, I-I didn't mean it."
"But you sai-"
"I'm not upset at you," he reassured you. "I'm disappointed in myself for allowing this to happen. I've become complacent and I-I should've been prepared. You could've gotten sick, hurt, or worse just because I got distracted. Next time I'll bring you your own sweater and snacks or whatever you want."
"Is it because you don't want me wearing yours? Did I ruin it or something?"
"No, it's because," he swallowed, unsure how to broach the subject. "cuando lo usas, es… es apretado."
What? You understood the part where he said you used it, but not the rest. Pulling out your phone from your pocket, you asked Google what all of that just meant, but the answer you got didn't help. "Rick, should I be offended?"
"I-I hope not. I promise it's not what you're thinking."
"Then what is it? I'm not getting any clear answers here."
"I um - I'm sorry if I offended you. It's not what I intended to do. I know what I'm about t-to tell you sounds silly since I had hoped I'd outgrow this, but I still feel shy around you."
This much you did know. He was overly conscious of himself, his actions, and how he might disappoint or be lacking, but most of all was hateful of his own inadequacies. Yet, for where he found fault, you found virtue and you would remind him of that, but in this case, you simply needed to listen. "That's okay, I already knew that."
"I don't feel like that all the time, but today I got embarrassed all of a sudden. I-I don't know what happened. Y-you were wearing my clothes and I saw your silhouette in the starlight and I got nervous."
Huh? That's what was bothering him?
"Why?"
"It um - it made me wonder what it'd be like if we lived together and…oh, it's embarrassing."
The hand which he had resting on the couch gripped the fabric tightly, and he was mortified because he had been distracted by you; which under normal circumstances he'd be able to remain calm. Covering his hand with yours, you gave him a squeeze."No, I would like to hear what you were thinking about very much."
Lacing his fingers with yours, you two sat there for a matter of minutes as he gathered his thoughts together. When he calmed a little, he confessed. "I thought about what it'd be like t-to wake up right next t-to you and not be alone anymore. I-I think about it a lot."
"Oh." That hadn't been what you expected. However, was it really so strange? He had intended to propose months ago, but ever since the moment had been spoiled he hadn't attempted to try again; if it had gone well, you two might've been married by now. Though, who was to say he didn't dream of it? Of what he'd always wanted, of a family or of the life in which he needed? Perhaps gentle encouragement wouldn't hurt.
"You know," you responded with a serious, but gentle candor. "you're not the only one who thinks about us living together. I'm very happy here and I love what we do together. And although we've had times where we respected one another's space, I don't mind if that changes. However, there are things that aren't so simple. For example, if I would've known that I could borrow your clothes whenever I liked I would've done so more often. Though, only if you hadn't been concerned about me getting accidentally poisoned by chemicals or radiation. Remember that time you literally fought with the laundry?"
"I do remember," he answered wistfully. "it's what prompted me t-to teach you how to use the freeze ray and laser gun correctly."
"I think the longer we're together, the more our lives will intertwine. Meaning, the more we move forward, the more training I'm going to need to fit into this lifestyle of ours. I think I'm going to need a portable scanner that'll allow me to check your clothes before I think of putting them on."
With serious, but tender eyes, he studied you. Then, he picked up his sweater which sat between you two and wondered. "Y-you want to wear my clothes? A great deal of them have seen better days. Are y-you sure?"
"Of course I'm sure," you brightened. "because I love the way your clothes smell. If you were away, it'd make me think of you and it...I don't know, makes us seem more domestic. Is that along the lines of what you were thinking?"
"Y-yeah."
"Cool. Glad to know we're on the same page."
Relieved, he pressed a kiss to your temple and seemed ready for that cup of coffee. And as you stood, ready to head to the kitchen to prepare it for him, you mentioned. "And by the way, I gotta tell you something important."
"Gee, what is that?"
Striking a pose, you made him chuckle; that was a good sign. "That it's totally cool to be into me and check me out. I don't mind, and it makes me happy that I know what it takes to catch your eye. However, there's an exception: when we're driving around in space, where anything could kill us, we gotta keep our eyes on the space around us unless on autopilot. Only then," you winked. "might it be okay to be a little distracted."
