Every year on the first of May, the peoples of the world, especially the global working class, and all the poor, oppressed, and downtrodden in this world, celebrate in the face of the brutal, savage, and enslaving practices perpetrated against them by a ferocious financial elite, which disregards all human values and principles, striving with all their might to perpetuate their control and dominance over the peoples of the world and their resources, using for their political, economic, and social objectives everything that military industries and modern technology have developed, and all methods of treachery and deceit, to achieve their goals and interests, without any moral or human scruple or conscience.

DWC May 2024 - Day 2 - Agony/Embrace

The dress didn’t actually have bones on it, but the theming was clear. Gold ‘boning’ in geometric and artistic interpretations of ribs and the suggestion of her hip bones. The tall elven woman craned her head to look over her shoulder and into the mirror. The soft greys and dark shadowy fabric moved elegantly with her with a subtle shimmer. It was a beautiful dress and it matched her aesthetic. She looked lovely in it. Confident. She lifted her arms and put her hair up to expose the lines of her neck in approximation of how she planned to style it.

Her arms dropped loosely back to her sides. The art gallery showing was going to be busy and filled with the rich and beautiful. She was lucky to be going. And the art was going to be a feast for her soul. Tinnaire knew she was unlikely to stay into the after party, she wasn’t part of the truly-invited, so part of her winced at the indulgence of such a fine dress for only a few hours showcase, but another part of her missed all the glamour of her life before the fall of Silvermoon.

Her arms wrapped around her chest in a careful embrace. A hollow word turned down the glow of the magelights and she stood in darkness. Her elven eyes let her see enough and she walked away from the mirrors.

I’m used to this,

Seeing the light dwindle,

Feeling warmth fade…

Wonder if they ever followed…

As I continued on,

Watching as I put others under that same blade.

Your skin sends chills thorugh my being

Not by any cooling of your body,

Simply because I know it will cool.

My hands usually don’t shake.

Years ago I would have watched fondly,

Now I again became a tool.

Please Understand,

I never wanted your funeral,

Not due to any sunshade.

I hope you know

I’ll be an unbearable scorn

While I mourn

Cause you are everything

I ever needed

Or ever want

Please Forgive Me,

Please Hayati,

I wouldn’t have chosen this.

You know that don’t you?

That’s why you’re smiling,

Because you know there’s more to this story…

Will you follow me Hayati?

Just as I followed you?

Watch as I pull this blade once more?
