I have to reblog this again because I found the story this post reminded me off.
Thursday 20 Oct 2022 4:19 pm A hospital ‘refused’ to perform emergency surgery on a woman after she requested an all-female nursing team.
The patient – Theresa – requested she had a full set of female staff, after claiming a transgender nurse walked in on her during a procedure.
The former lawyer was set to undergo urgent bowel surgery at the Princess Grace Hospital in London, before the hospital director cancelled the operation.
Theresa – who said she had been sexually assaulted in the past – picked the hospital specifically because she didn’t want to be in a mixed-sex facility. She stated on admission forms that she did not wish to ‘use pronouns or engage with such manifestations of gender ideology’ during her stay.
Theresa told MailOnline: ‘I was not going to agree to fill in reams of hospital paperwork about my non-existent “gender identity” or give my pronouns to anyone.’
She then claims during a pre-operation procedure, a transgender member of staff opened the door and ‘briefly made eye contact with her.’
She said she felt the staff member was targeting her due to her requests and later contacted the hospital management to complain of a ‘patient dignity breach’.
She issued an urgent request that her nursing care team from now on must be from females only, and not ‘men who identify as women’.
She said: ‘I began to wonder if it was just a coincidence that this member of staff with a “gender identity” had made their presence felt to me in such an inappropriate way during my first visit.
‘I began to suspect that I had been targeted because my patient records showed that I refused to use pronouns and wanted single-sex facilities, although I have no evidence of this.’
After the incident, Theresa returned home, but much to her dismay she received an email from hospital director Maxine Estop Green telling her the procedure had been cancelled.
In her email, Ms Green said the hospital ‘did not share’ her gender-critical beliefs and she should make alternative arrangements for her surgery.
The email said that all hospital staffing was mixed-sex, and that it would ‘not be logistically possible’ to arrange for an all-female care team.
Theresa was livid at the response she received from the hospital director and claimed the decision was proof she was being ‘targeted by trans-activists’.
‘As always, this is about appeasing men who claim a gender identity,’ she said.
‘They will punish anyone who tells the truth. I will not be forced to use the language of gender ideology, that is, pronouns that don’t apply to me.
‘Women’s safety, dignity and privacy continues to be sacrificed on the altar of this quasi religion.
‘I cannot believe this is happening in the UK.’
A spokesman for hospital parent firm HCA later said: ‘At The Princess Grace Hospital we always strive to deliver the highest standards of care and we value and respect each of our patients as individuals. For reasons of confidentiality, we cannot comment on individual patient complaints.
‘The hospital’s policy is always to accommodate patient requests if possible.
‘Some, such as a request for “single-sex care”, are particularly challenging, given the diversity of our colleagues and our need to prioritise patient safety.
‘Regrettably, in some circumstances, it might be necessary to cancel a procedure if there is insufficient time to discuss such a request ahead of the patient’s admission.’
I fully believe women are punished for asking to be paired with other women, because every single time I’ve specified that I’d rather work/live/whatever with a woman I’ve been assigned a male.
