i would walk 10,000 miles to you, jake seresin, @roleycoleyreccenter as i said in my original reblog, jake showing up at his love interest’s door drunk is something that can be so personal. i really do love this fic, it's so damn cute.

heat, bradley bradshaw, @clints-lucky-arrow i read this right after i saw top gun: maverick for the first, and i have never been the same since.

landslide, bradley bradshaw, @roosterbruiser i devoured this on AO3 months and months ago in like a midnight haze, unable to put it down, and it's still one of my favorite fics that millie's ever written. It's definitely on the heavier side (and long), but it's so good and so healing.

out of the blue, clear sky, jake seresin, @theharddeck i am such a sana stan so i had a hard time choosing between this and california coast in your green eyes, which i also love a whole lot. out of the blue pulled ahead because soft jake is the absolute softest in this fic. it's like a warm hug – and in the last chapter, a steaming warm hug.

steady, bradley bradshaw, @callsignvalley i re-read this like once a month, i'm so serious. it's just so good, and i love how bradley and cali (i don't know if the reader has a nickname, but cali to me) heal together.

baby, i'm high octane, jake seresin somehow, i am still writing this fic like... over a year later, but baby, i'm high octane was the first tgm fic that i ever wrote and ever posted. and i am so proud of it, even if i've been working on it for a million years!

delicate, bob floyd probably one of my angstiest (but also softest) fics. i wrote this for @roosterforme's incredible love is in the air challenge in february (a huge shoutout to emily, whose work is featured on many rewind lists), and i still think about it all the time.

Uzun süredir beni ciddi anlamda kendine bağlayan, daha doğrusu beni derinden etkileyen bir film ile karşılaşmadım. Son yıllarda beğendiğim filmler oldu. Ancak aklımın bir köşesine kazınmayı bir türlü beceremediler. (Barbie? Margot sayesinde belki bir parça…) Top Gun Maverick? Evet. Evet. Evet. (Al sana çelişki.) Film yorumcusu falan da değilim. Beni tanıyanlar bilir. Tanımayanlar da öğrenmiş…

04 — taman

0,9k words. ditulis menggunakan sudut pandang orang ketiga

“Apa nyasar, ya?” gumam Hadenoel ketika sudah lebih dari sepuluh menit ia mengucapkan salam di depan rumah bertembok kayu di hadapannya itu. Sekali lagi ia melihat laman google maps di ponselnya memastikan pin point yang dikirimkan lewat aplikasi WhatsApp tadi sudah benar, lalu bergumam lagi, “Bener kok tapi.”

Jemarinya bergerak menggulir layar, lalu mengetik sesuatu di sana dengan maksud mengirimi pesan kepada si pengirim alamat tadi, bahwa ia telah sampai. Tak kunjung mendapatkan jawaban, punggung tangan yang dilapisi dengan jaket abu bergerak mengusap keringat yang keluar dari wajahnya, akibat terik matahari. Kembali Hadenoel mengucapkan salam, namun kali ini dengan bantuan tangan yang mengetuk pagar besi. 

Hadenoel mengehela napasnya. Pemuda itu memang yang berinisiatif jalan lebih cepat untuk menghindari macet —tadinya, karena melihat garis merah cukup panjang dari Cikini hingga Menteng pada maps yang diberikan tadi. Tetapi ternyata, perbaikan di jalan Cikini yang menimbulkan kemacetan itu hanya ditempuhnya tidak sampai tujuh menit, sehingga membuatnya datang empat putuh tujuh menit lebih dulu dari yang dijanjikan. Maka dari itu, ia tidak akan menyalahkan Shalum.

Cukup lama waktu yang Hadenoel butuhkan dengan total sembilan belas kali mengucapkan salam yang tanpa ada satupun sahutan itu, membuat kesabarannya menipis. Sengatan sinar matahari yang membuat kepalanya panas juga menjadi salah satu alasan ia tak ingin banyak bergerak. Maka dari itu, ia langkahkan kakinya menuju motor Royal Enfield berwarna hijau army miliknya, bertekad untuk menunggu saja sampai waktu yang telah disepakati di warung kopi depan komplek perumahan yang tadi sempat dilewatinya.

Baru saja selesai memakai helm dan ingin menyalakan mesin motornya, suara pintu rumah yang dibuka membuat tangannya urung memutar kunci motor. Hadenonel menengok, mendapati seorang gadis berdiri tepat di depan pintu tinggi itu dengan kaos hitam belel dengan beberapa bagian bolong —yang Hadenoel yakin itu sengaja dibuat dan celana boxer menyentuh lutut bertuliskan Dallas Mavericks menyambutnya. 

Rambut menyentuh bahu yang potongannya terlihat asal itu terlihat acak-acakan, wajahnya sembap dengan mata yang menyipit dan satu alis yang menukik ke atas —khas orang kebingungan. Apakah ini Shalum? Penampilan gadis ini bersebrangan dengan foto profil WhatsApp miliknya. Malah tidak mirip sama sekali. Warna rambutnya tidak merah dan panjang. Apa mungkin dia potong rambut?

“Siapa, ya?” gadis itu bertanya dengan suara serak yang cukup berat untuk seorang perempuan, buat Hadenoel kembali sadar ketika tadi sempat meneliti penampilan orang di seberangnya dan kehilangan fokus. Suara serak itu juga terdengar berbeda dengan suara yang terakhir terdengar, ketika Hadenoel dan Shalum mengonsultasikan waktu kursus mereka.

Ini salah alamat? Berkecamuk hatinya memikirkan kemungkinan itu, Hadenoel loloskan deham, “Ini rumah Shalum?” lebih baik ia mengonfirmasinya langsung, dan kalaupun memang salah alamat, ia akan meminta maaf dan bertanya letak rumah Shalum yang asli, meskipun sangsi bahwa di komplek ini tiap rumah saling kenal dengan rumah sebelah.

“Iya, bener,” disusul dengan anggukkan, gadis itu berjalan melewati taman kecil di depan rumahnya untuk sampai ke pagar pemisah antara Hadenoel dan dirinya, “Ada perlu apa, ya?”

Hadenoel loloskan napas yang tadi sempat ia tahan, tangannya membuka helm yang membungkus kepalanya tadi, lalu dengan tersenyum lega ia mengucapkan maksud dan tujuannya, “Saya Hadenoel, guru les gambarnya Shalum. Saya dapet alamat rumah ini dari Shalum,” lanjut Hadenoel memperlihatkan ruang obrolannya dengan gadis berambut merah itu sebagai bukti, “Shalumnya ada?”

Gadis di hadapannya membaca pesan itu dengan mata yang menyipit, kernyitan muncul di dahinya, namun alih-alih bertanya ia malah berlalu ke pagar sebelah untuk membuka gerbang. 

“Masuk dulu aja. Nyanya masih kuliah sih, seharusnya bentar lagi udah balik.” setelah gerbang terbuka kecil gadis itu mempersilakan Hadenoel masuk, setelah mendapati Hadenoel berhenti mendorong motornya ditutup kembali gerbang itu lalu melanjutkan ucapannya, “Sori kalo tadi kelamaan nunggu di depan, gue tidur.” Pungkasnya.

Hadenoel hanya menganggukan kepalanya, mengatakan tidak apa-apa, sembari mengikuti langkah asal gadis berbaju belel ini setelah diinstrusikan untuk mengikutinya.

“Tunggu sini dulu aja, ya,” langkah gadis di depannya berhenti tepat di bangku kayu kecil yang berada di depan jendela, membuat Hadenoel melepas backpack converse lusuh di belakang punggungnya lalu duduk di bangku kayu tadi. Sementara gadis tadi sudah hilang di balik pintu.

Hadenoel menelusuri taman di depannya. Taman ini cukup kecil dan penuh dengan segala jenis tanaman yang memenuhinya —meskipun banyaknya didominasi oleh bunga mulai dari bunga sepatu, matahari, marigold, bougenville, anggrek, sampai bunga yang Hadenoel tidak tahu namanya, lalu ada kolam ikan besar yang di atasnya melintang jembatan kayu kecil untuk menghubungkan jalan conblock tempat Haden memarkirkan motornya dengan gazebo kecil di ujung taman yang dipenuhi tanaman rambat lengkap dengan box pizza, beberapa botol cola kosong dan asbak di atas gazebo itu.

Tanaman-tanaman yang tumbuh mekar di rumah ini, taman kecil yang terlihat indah, cukup untuk mendeskripsikan bahwa keluarga yang menempati rumah ini, mereka pasti hidup dengan kasih yang cukup. Sehingga membawa ingatan Hadenoel akan kedua orang tuanya, tak sadar ia sunggingkan senyum.

“Nyanya-nya udah di jalan pulang, sebentar lagi nyampe, katanya,” lamunan Hadenoel akan suara-suara dumelan Mamanya karena tingkah jahil Papanya mendadak hilang, digantikan dengan suara yang tak seserak tadi. Menolehkan kepala, Hadenoel dapati gadis itu berdiri di ambang pintu dengan ponsel yang ada digenggamannya.

“Itu anak emang kebiasaan banget,” gerutuan pelan yang terdengar oleh kupingnya membuat Hadenoel meringis. Pemuda itu buru-buru mengklarifikasinya, “Memang belum jam janjiannya, kok. Saya ke sini tadi berangkat lebih cepat karena mau menghindari macet, tapi ternyata nggak semacet itu,” tak ingin kalau-kalau nanti Shalum akan dimarahi oleh gadis yang Hadenoel tidak tahu dengan pasti hubungannya apa dengan Shalum, “Terus.. ya gitu, jadinya kecepetan,” pungkasnya sembari mengusap tengkuknya, merasa salah tingkah karena gadis ini hanya memberinya tatapan lurus dengan satu alis yang menukik ke atas.

“Mau minum apa?” tanpa indahkan kalimat klarifikasi Hadenoel, gadis ini justru layangkan tanya, buat Hadenoel dengan cepat menggelengkan kepalanya, “Nggak usah,”

Menganggukkan kepala tanda memberi jawaban kemudian gadis ini bergerak untuk pergi ke dalam, namun sebelum pergi ia sempatkan untuk berkata, “Nggak usah sopan-sopan amat kalo nanti ngomong lagi sama gue, kayaknya kita seumuran,” 

Hadenoel mengernyit, Oke… jadi, akan ada omongan lagi di hari lain? 

Tak sadar, ia tersenyum.
