Salam. Don't be sorry. I'm always happy to get more asks. It's hard to list favourite poets of all time. Let's just list three names coming to my mind rn:

1. Mahmoud Darwish: Poetry about love and homeland. Yearning for the beloved homeland, beloved mother. His poems talk about love in difficult times. Times when are to choose between your homeland and your love. The smartest poet of all time.

2. Hazrat Maulana Rumi: Popularly known as Mevlana. His poems bring peace to heart, take closer to the Beloved.

3. Parveen Shakir: Her poems are sad. And when I'm sad for some reason, I read her poetry, only to get more and more sad.

Sebuah Pelajaran Mengenal Tuhan

“Bagaimana kamu (mau) mengenalkan anak pada Tuhan?”

Pertanyaan sederhana yang bisa membuahkan jawaban yang amat panjang, tentang perjalanan hidup dan pergulatan batin saya. Singkat cerita, punya anak, membuat saya jadi lebih religius (dibanding sebelumnya).  Kok bisa? Ya, karena memikirkan jawaban dari pertanyaan itu. Saat saya sedang menikmati kebebasan sebagai individu, melepaskan diri dari ritual, dan melihat diri saya terbang jauh dari sosok yang diinginkan oleh orang tua, oleh masyarakat. Tapi begitu saya menjadi ibu, saya mau terbang dari siapa?

Tuhan dan Masa Kecil

Kalau bukan dari ibunya, dari siapa anak ini akan mengenal Tuhannya? Kembali ke pertanyaan awal, saya juga tidak tahu jawabannya. Yang saya tahu, kehadiran anak, membuat saya kembali mendekap pada ritual. Saya mencoba menapak tilasi, bagaimana orang tua saya dulu mengenalkan agama pada masa kecil saya. Walau tidak semuanya indah, tapi saya punya kenangan yang membekas. Tentang susahnya bangun subuh, tentang perjuangan belajar ngaji sehabis maghrib bareng anak sekampung, tentang khataman Quran pertama, tentang hafalan Quran, tentang kisah-kisah nabi yang didongengkan, tentang pelajaran bahasa Arab, tentang malam Lebaran membagi zakat fitrah, dan sebagainya, yang semuanya membentuk kepribadian saya.

Tapi apakah Tuhan hanya sekadar kenangan? Kelangenan masa kecil yang tak berbekas pada amal? Pada keseharian?

Di Vol.6, Bab Pengetahuan tentang Tuhan, CM mengutip novel Thackeray, tentang tokohnya bernama Pendennis, bangsawan Inggris, yang pada usia 8 tahun, saat berjalan-jalan, ibunya melantunkan syair-syair menggugah karya John Milton. “Lalu mata mereka berdua ‘berkaca-kaca karena sukacita ilahi’”. Sepenggal kisah yang mampu membuat saya merinding, betapa pentingnya peran ibu dalam mengenalkan anak pada Tuhan. Saya pribadi, juga akan berurai air mata kalau membaca syair Milton, Paradise Lost, lebih karena kesulitan menangkap maknanya (hehe..). 

Kalau di Jawa, kira-kira seperti cerita NH. Dini yang dari kecil selalu dinyanyikan tembang-tembang Jawa (yang sarat pesan dan nilai), oleh ibunya, seperti Dhandanggula, Maskumambang, dan sebagainya. Atau, seorang ibu yang menidurkan anaknya dengan nyanyian sholawat. Dengan kata lain, seorang ibu selalu punya cara untuk menyentuh jiwa anak agar mengagumi keagungan-Nya.  

“Dari tiga jenis pengetahuan yang layak dimiliki anak – pengetahuan tentang TUHAN, tentang manusia, dan tentang semesta – pengetahuan tentang TUHAN duduk peringkat pertama dalam hal arti pentingnya, tak boleh terabaikan, dan paling menentukan kebahagiaan.” Begitu kata CM (Vol.6).

CM juga mengatakan bahwa setiap anak pada dasarnya punya kecenderungan hati bawaan untuk menjalin relasi dengan Tuhan. Anak kecil tumbuh dengan ‘mata polos’ melihat dunia dengan penuh ketakjuban. Sampai pada titik tertentu, dia kehilangan ketakjubannya karena kita. Iya, kita -orang dewasa- yang terbentuk menjadi sosok yang berhenti mempertanyakan, dan menganggap segala sesuatu tampak sebagai hal yang sudah sewajarnya. Sikap seperti inilah yang sebetulnya menjauhkan kita dari Tuhan.

Ilmuwan-ilmuwan seperti Newton, Einstein, Carl Sagan, adalah orang-orang yang penuh ketakjuban dan memandang alam ini dengan sepenuh imajinasi. Kalau sekarang, mungkin seperti Sir David Attenborough, Neil deGrasse Tyson, atau Profesor Bryan Cox, yang sering saya lihat di layar kaca. Orang-orang yang berhasil mengembalikan ‘mata polos’ saya dalam melihat dunia secara menakjubkan, yang kemudian diserap juga oleh anak saya. Hati yang melihat alam dengan ketakjuban, adalah hati yang penuh ketundukan. Bagaikan mata Newton saat menatap apel di pohon, bagaikan mata Einstein saat tengadah ke langit.

Dalam kasus covid-19 sekarang, misalnya, orang yang diliputi kecintaan pada Tuhan, akan melihat virus sebagai sebuah organisme ciptaan-Nya yang indah dan sempurna. Seperti juga gulma di ladang pertanian, pandemi virus adalah cara alam menyeimbangkan dirinya. Masalah bukan ada di virus. Pandemi adalah sebuah gejala, tanda adanya ketidakseimbangan di alam, kerusakan ekologi, yang diakibatkan perbuatan manusia.  

Anak akan mudah tergugah dan terdidik dengan limpahan nilai keilahian, jika dan hanya jika, ia punya ibu yang menyerap ketuhanan dalam kesehariannya. Bisa jadi, embok-embok di kampung yang tak pernah baca buku, jauh lebih spiritual daripada ibu-ibu urban berpendidikan tinggi. Banyaknya pengetahuan dan bacaan tidak berbanding lurus dengan penghayatan ketuhanan seseorang. Socrates juga pernah mengatakan hal yang sama. Banyak orang pintar, tapi durjana. Hidupnya dipenuhi kegelisahan, karena ia selalu bertentangan dengan apa yang ia ketahui.  

Ada Tuhan dalam Hukum Alam

Dalam Volume 1, Home Education, CM juga menyebut tentang adanya hukum di balik pendidikan,

“Ketika kita melihat ke dalam hukum ini, kita mendapati bahwa orang-orang berkebangsaan Jerman yaitu Kant, Herbart, Lotze dan Froebel benar ketika mereka mengatakan bahwa mengenal Allah adalah hal yang terpenting yang harus dipelajari oleh seorang anak.” (CM Vol.1)

Keempat tokoh itu terkenal sebagai tokoh psikologi, filsuf, dan pendidikan. Saya tidak yakin mereka menyebut secara tersurat teorinya tentang pentingnya mengenal ketuhanan. Tapi kenapa CM menyebutnya demikian?

Salah seorang filsuf, Spinoza, pernah mengatakan, untuk mengetahui Tuhan, menurut Spinoza, bukan dengan mencarinya dan mempelajari kitab suci. Tuhan dikenali justru dengan mempelajari hukum-hukum yang mengatur alam. Tuhan didekati justru dengan mendalami hukum-hukum yang mengatur hati manusia. Tuhan justru harus dikenali dengan ilmu pengetahuan. 

Itu pendapat Spinoza, bukan CM. Mungkin CM mengaitkannya dengan alasan kenapa para filsuf itu menekankan bahwa mengenal Allah adalah hal terpenting yang harus dipelajari seorang anak.

Sama halnya dengan prinsip-prinsip pendidikan CM lainnya, yang memercayai hukum alam, manual asali atau kodrati. Dari mulai perlunya anak diberi makanan yang sehat, pentingnya berada di alam, menguatkan kehendak, membaca living books, kurikulum kaya, sampai perlunya bernarasi, semua berporos pada hukum alam. Kesemuanya ini juga sebuah upaya mencelupkan anak pada nilai keilahian. Walaupun tentu saja, menurut CM, mempelajari kitab suci adalah hal yang utama.      

Agama yang Mencerahkan

Suatu kali, ayah saya menelepon, ingin ngobrol dengan cucunya. Tidak tahunya, dia menyuruh cucunya untuk menghafal juz 30, dalam waktu sebulan. “Nanti Mbah kasih sejuta! Bisa, ya. Kamu kan anak pintar,” katanya. Hadeh! Dasarnya, anak saya nggak doyan uang. Ditambah target sebulan, jelas ditolaknya mentah-mentah. Susah payah saya jelasin. Walaupun Pilar gampang menyerap dan memahami pengetahuan yang baru dia baca, tapi kalau sudah menyangkut hapalan, dia sangat lamban.

Sedihnya, ayah saya termasuk orang yang memercayai, selama belum ada keturunannya yang jadi penghapal Quran, dia belum pegang tiket ke surga. Ketika anak-anaknya semua gagal, sekarang harapannya tinggal cucu. Kalau kami tinggal serumah, mungkin sudah tiap hari dia brainwash saya supaya mencetak anak menjadi penghapal Quran. Tentu, anak saya belajar hafalan Quran, tapi menyesuaikan dengan kecepatan dan kemampuannya. Tanpa embel-embel hadiah.  

Tipikal ayah saya ini tampaknya mewakili keberagamaan mayoritas orang. Keberagamaan yang mengutamakan ritual, simbol, penampakan luar, dan dogma. Paling kenceng mengkritik moral dan akhlak orang, tapi sendirinya, ah sudahlah. Beragama, tanpa kesadaran dan berpikir, hanyalah menjadi sekumpulan ibadah-ibadah lahir.

Sayangnya, pendidikan keberagamaan seperti ini yang diamini oleh lembaga-lembaga pendidikan maupun keluarga. Padahal, seharusnya, beragama membawa orang pada kesadaran tinggi, untuk menjadi manusia yang penuh cinta kasih dan dijauhkan dari kejahatan. Hidupnya diabdikan diri pada tujuan menjalin relasi dengan Tuhan, sesama, dan alam semesta. Seharusnya…

Kalau Anda sudah menemukannya, Anda berada di jalan yang benar. Sayangnya, seringnya, kualitas semacam ini hanya dimiliki oleh orang-orang yang memiliki pencerahan.

Jalan mendapatkan pencerahan inilah yang bisa ditemukan di filsafat, sadhana, tasawuf, termasuk yoga (yoga sendiri merupakan sebuah sistem filsafat kuno yang disebut Sad Darsana). Filsafat memberi perspektif yang luas tentang hidup. Filsafat juga membantu kita dalam menghadapi badai kehidupan.

“Ada lagi hal lain yang akan kita kenali ketika kita akhirnya memahami secara jelas untuk apa hukum kemerdekaan pendidikan ini—ia sangat benar dan bijaksana sehingga ia akan melewati setiap ujian yang kita pikir dapat kita berikan dalam setiap aspek kehidupan.” (Vol.1)

Dalam sejarah peradaban manusia, orang yang mengabdikan hidupnya pada misi membawa pencerahan ini, seringkali menemui bahaya dan berakhir dihabisi nyawanya.

Saya jadi teringat tragedi Shamsu Tabriz, guru yang amat dicintai Maulana Rumi, yang  dibunuh oleh kaum agamawan, karena dianggap membawa pengaruh buruk pada Rumi. Sham mengubah Rumi, dari seorang pengkhotbah terhormat kesayangan jamaah, menjadi orang yang tidak mau lagi memberi khotbah. Lebih gila lagi, tampil di publik membawakan tarian, membeli minuman keras di kedai, menampung seorang pelacur di rumahnya, dan hal-hal gila lain yang ia lakukan, yang dianggap mencoreng kehormatannya sendiri. Sosok Sham amat penting dalam transformasi Rumi menjadi seorang sufi besar yang dikenal dunia. Sham mengenalkan filsafat cinta pada Rumi. Sayangnya, Sham dianggap mengguncang status quo agamawan. Kisah hidup Sham ini saya dapati dari novel Elif Shafak, penulis Turki, berjudul Forty Rules of Love. Penggambaran akan sosok Sham yang begitu mendalam, membuat sampai sekarang, pelupuk mata saya suka basah kalau mengingat sosoknya.    

Tragedi lain, misalnya, dialami Sokrates. Sokrates adalah sosok yang sangat religius. Ia percaya dirinya membawa misi ketuhanan, berkeliling kota menemui orang-orang dan mengajak berdialog, “Yang kulakukan hanyalah mengajak kalian semua untuk tak hanya memikirkan orang-orangmu atau hartamu. Namun yang pertama dan paling utama, perhatikanlah nasib jiwamu! Kukatakan kepadamu bahwa kebajikan bukanlah dengan menerima uang dan harta, tapi bahwa dari kebajikan itulah -harta dan segala hal yang baik dari diri manusia akan muncul, baik di tengah publik maupun dari individu.”

Pada masa itu, banyak orang pintar (atau disebut kaum sofis) di Athena. Sayangnya para sofis suka membanggakan kepintarannya, dan meminta upah atas pengajaran yang dilakukan.  

Tindakan Sokrates ini dianggap meracuni pikiran anak-anak muda. Mungkin kalau sekarang, dibilang penistaan agama. Ia dibenci karena mencerahkan anak-anak muda dari pengeruhan akal dengan pengajaran retorika yang berlaku saat itu. Sokrates pun akhirnya dihukum mati oleh penguasa Athena.

Sokrates berjasa mempopulerkan diktum: “Kenali dirimu”, “Uji hidupmu”, ”Aturlah dirimu”. Diktum yang tampaknya menjadi sumber inspirasi motto CM: I am, I can, I ought, I will.

Di setiap zaman, selalu ada pihak-pihak yang ingin mencari keuntungan, baik materi maupun pengaruh. Filsafat -yang membuat orang berpikir- menjadi sebuah ancaman besar bagi kalangan tersebut. Lagipula, tidak semua orang, mau bersusah-susah untuk berpikir, dan berani keluar dari kenyamanan.

Creation of the universe according to Science / The Big Bang Theory

Science explains the Universe is all about space and time which includes planets, stars, galaxies etc but does not have concrete information regarding the spatial size of the entire universe. At most science gives some figures based on observable universe which is estimated to be 93 billion light-years in diameter. This information is based on the cosmological model developed by ancient Greek and Indian Philosophers, some heliocentric model. This is the law of universal gravitation developed by Isac Newton and Copernicus and Johannes Kepler’s law of planetary motion and the observations by Tycho Brahe.

The Big Bang theory is considered to be the most prevalent description about the creation of the universe which explains that space and time emerged together 13.799 +/- 0.021 billion years ago and because of the inflationary epoch, some expansion of the particles happened which gradually cooled and it continued to expand with which subatomic particles and atoms were formed.

The ACDM model is the most widely accepted model of the universe according to science. There are many theories competing about the ultimate creation of the universe where even Physicists and Philosophers refuse to contemplate and they doubt if this information could ever be accessible. Scientists also talk about the multiverse hypothesis, where our earth/universe could be one among several universes that possibly exist.

These are all merely anticipations and baseless concepts. Their knowledge (Whatsoever) is confined until the creation of the earth. How the Universe/World was created?

In the beginning, there was only one God. His name is God Kabir. The actual name of that God is ‘Kavirdev’. He used to reside in a place called ‘Anami (Anamay) Lok (region) Which is also called ‘Akah Lok. The Almighty GOD the creator of the universe (Brahamands) used to reside all alone there. Vedas address Him as ‘Kavirdev’and Quran as ‘Kabiran’. He is in the shape of a human. His body is very effulgent. All the souls (Atma) were contained in the body of that complete GOD (Purna Dhani) whose designated name is Anami Purush (Purush means God since God has created man in His form/image, similar to His own self, therefore, man is also known as ‘Purush’). In the same way, the Supreme God Kabir (Almighty KavirDev) himself appeared and created three other lower regions/places (Lok). The effulgence of one hair follicle of the Almighty God KavirDev (ie. Anami Purush) is more than the combined light of Sankh (Calculation) Suns.

Creation of Lower Loks

The Almighty God (KavirDev) later created Agam Lok, Alakh Lok and Satlok (these are the lower loks) with his word power (Shabd Shakti). The Almighty God (KavirDev) himself then appeared in Agam Lok as the Master (Lord) of Agam Lok. His title (position) there is Agam Purush ie. Agam Prabhu. Agam God’s human-like visible body is highly illuminated. The effulgence of whose one hair follicle is more than the combined light of Kharab (trillions calculation) Suns.

The Almighty God (KavirDev or Supreme God Kabir) himself then appeared in Alakh Lok as the Master (Lord) of Alakh Lok. His title (position) there is Alakh Purush’. Alakh God’s human-like visible body is self-illuminated, its very bright (swarjyoti). The effulgence of one hair follicle of His body is more than the combined light of Arab (Calculation) Suns.

This very Supreme God only appeared in ‘Satlok’ and there He himself is the master (Lord) of Satlok. His title (position) there is SatPurush (the Eternal/Immortal God). In fact, He only is known as Akaalmurti-Shabad Swaroopi Ram’ or calls Him Purna Brahm or Param Akshar Brahm. This SatPurush (God Kabir) KavirDev’s human-like visible body is highly illuminated and the brightness of one hair follicle is more than the combined light of crore (Calculation) Suns.

Creations in Satlok -

While appearing in the form of SatPurush (God Kabir-KavirDev) first did other creations in Satlok. With His word power (one Shabd) He created sixteen islands (dweeps). Then with sixteen words (Shabd), He made evident sixteen sons. He also created Mansarover (a very big lake) and He filled it with nectar. The names of His sixteen sons:-

1) Kurm 2) Gyani 3) Vivek 4) Tej 5) Sahaj 6) Santosh 7) Surati 8) Anand 9) Kshama 10) Nishkaam 11) Jalrangi 12) Achint 13) Prem 14) Dayal 15) Dhairya 16) Yogjit (Yog Santayan)

The Eternal God (SatPurush) amongst sixteen sons then entrusted Achint for the rest of Universe creation. He was given the order to create the creation and was provided the word power. With that word power Achint created ‘Akshar Purush (Param Brahm) with the word (Shabd) and asked him to help him in further creations in Satlok. Akshar Purush ie. this ParBrahm went to Mansarover (the lake filled with nectar) in Satlok to take bath there he started enjoying it and he fell asleep. He stayed there for a very long time and did not come out. In Satlok the body is not made up of five elements, there the life is not through breathing. Then Achint requested the Almighty God KavirDev to awake Akshar Purush from sleep. The Supreme GOD Kabir took some nectar from that Mansarover and made an egg out of it. In that egg, He inserted a soul and renounced that egg in the nectar water of Mansarover. The egg started sinking and its thunder-like voice disturbed the sound sleep of Akshar Purush and his sleep repealed due to which he got annoyed, he stared that egg with anger as ‘Who disturbed my sleep? Due to which the egg broke into two halves. From this egg came out this Brahm, a ‘Purush’ ie. Jyoti Swaroopi Niranjan (Kshar Purush). His real name is ‘Kael’ who later was known as ‘Kaal’. Then Satpurush (KavirDev) uttered Oracle (Aakashvaani) ‘You both come out, Akshar Purush you were in sleep, without you the creation work is not getting completed. In order to wake you, all this process is done and now both of you live in Achint’s dweep (Lok). Following the instructions of the Almighty God, both Akshar Purush and Kshar Purush (Kaal) started living in Achint’s dweep for a very long time. (This spectacle was done by God Kabir to teach them that without the Almighty nothing can be successful and also these foolish children should not crave for power).

Then the Supreme God KavirDev himself did entire creation with His word power (Shabd shakti). He created a Rajeshwari (Rashtri) Shakti with which all these Brahamands (elliptical regions) were established. (insert picture). This is also known as Parashakti / Paranandni. The Almighty KavirDev (Supreme God) then produced all the souls after this with His word power in His own form, in human form, the body of each soul is similar to God himself and the brightness of the body is equivalent to that of sixteen suns.

After a long time, mischief aroused in the mind of Kshar Purush (Jyoti Niranjan) that we three (Achint, Akshar Purush/Brahm and Kshar Purush) are living in one island (dweep) whereas all others are living independently in their own separate dweeps. Having this thought and with an aspiration to have a separate dweep (island/state) for himself this Jyoti Niranjan (Kshar Purush) decided to do religious austerity and by standing on one leg for seventy (70) yugas (ages) he did tenacity (Tap / meditation)...(See More...)

A mention of ParBrahm (Akshar Purush) is given in Kabir Sagar who due to committing a breach in his duty and showing anger for Kshar Purush (Jyoti Niranjan) was expelled from Satlok. After Kshar Purush departed from Satlok, this ParBrahm started missing his friend Brahm forgetting the Almighty Kavir Dev who is the giver of all pleasures and comforts. Since his yearning did not lessen, it became mandatory for Supreme God Kabir to expel him as well.
