Half the appeal of this au to me is just matsuda wearing cute outfits. Let that man manwhore!

Matsuda's style for this AU is a little more 80s J-rock than 00s J-pop—particularly inspired by Loudness bc I hc him as big fan of theirs—so he looks a little goofy lmao. Legit this man has a perm, help. Lots of leather.

i have not researched anything so i don't know if this is even a thing but i think matsumisa would be a deliciously Bad ship.

like. i can't think of a healthy explanation for it. we all know matsuda is adorable in how he treats her. just the sweetest boy ever towards her. and she does not reciprocate in the slightest.

but also like. post-yotsuba, struggling for attention from light, feeling neglected and abandoned by everyone? she'd play that sweet idiot boy like a fucking fiddle. like a harmonica. like a kazoo.

its 50/50 trying to get light to pay attention again and appreciating the attention from matsuda. she probably lowkey feels horrible about it but also her life has been such a shitshow lately that it doesnt even cross her mind to break it off.

and matsuda would just be suffering the entire time. torn between his love for misa and his love for light. because, i believe, he does love both of them. but also he gives vibes of "can't tell when he's feeling romantic love or platonic love and it kinda isn't good for him".

every time light mentions his declining relationship with misa, some part of matsuda dies inside. he just feels like the worst person in the world.

and when he finds out how light never really loved her? oh god.
