How tall is Varis? He looks pretty large in the pictures of him and other characters, as liches tend to be, but what height is he specifically?
Varis stands about 7 ft. 4 in. or 223.52 cm tall, which obviously makes him rather tall in comparison to a human who averages about 5 ft 8 in. or 172.72 cm tall!
Tumblr media
Though his tall stature is mostly due to the fact he was born a High Elf hybrid, which usually leaves them pretty tall to begin with. Though if he ever wants to make himself taller, he just floats from time to time hehe

Artist Asks
7. Favourite works of all time excluding your own?
I'll pick a few because honestly when I think of favorite works, its a battle between the art given/made for me and then the other art friends make that I enjoy! So for this one, I'm gonna pick the few pieces of gift art from a few!
Tumblr media
This piece by @ben-the-hyena it still makes me smile when I see it
Tumblr media
An art trade done with my brother @spazzatroll24 on his take of Papa Bird
Tumblr media
This awesome commission by you!
Tumblr media
And this piece by @acridid-s of Kuzma
I have so many more to show but for now, just these! But every bit of gift art and trades and commissions always brings a big smile to me face! <3
10. What’s that one thing that inspired you to make drawing your consistant hobby?
To be honest, I don't really recall much as to what inspired me to draw for a hobby. As long as I can remember, I've always been drawing; filling up tons of notebooks full of random drawings and even taking paper from the printer to the point I would get in trouble for doing so (back then it was expensive as it was now, haha).
I guess persistence just happened to make it turn into a hobby for me! It would be cool to make it into a job but Idk. A part of me doesn't want to hate it like I did in college x')
So a hobby it remains.
12. Show your favourite drawing from this year
Kind of a tough one considering I have a few that have managed to make me feel quite proud of myself but I guess if picking one, this one here!

Do you have anything you wish to see in the next part of blood & water?
thank u for the ask! <3 im excited to see where theyll take the whole human trafficking plotline: b&w ‘s writing team kinda oscillates btwn the scale of severity they intend for the audience to take this whole ‘Predatory NGOs operating in South Africa trafficking [relatively] poorer kids to rich families’ thing n i hope they commit to it in s4. its been alluded to throughout but s3 finale confirms it& im wondering how theyll do it.. the role of kb’s dad in this wider network is still ambiguous a bit, surely as an attorney he wouldve been more involved in covering up the repercussions of these cases more than the show wants us to believe [like wtf was the whole deal w randomly making kb’s mom evil when kb’s dad was so ominous/2 faced in the earlier seasons?]. im happy for fikile + puleng’s catharsis, embracing eachother as sisters unconditionally, tho fiks getting shot scared the shit out of me they delivered everything i wanted out of that moment.. thande embracing the child of her own for who she was. big development from the woman who we were introduced to having birthday parties for her ‘missing’ daughter when it was the ‘shame’ of ‘stepping out of marriage’ n for the symbol of phume she had in her head..i also rly appreciate the showrunners for showing that a boy [wade] can do incredible acts of selflessness + have love rt for a girl w/o being ‘rewarded’ w her hand like a trophy + i want wade to set that boundary in that he wont risk himself for puleng’s own very haphazard plans. im gearing up for kuleng end game frl likee. i want kb to rly deal with the realization he got in s3 that his family is not perfect, and how his family , both mother and father, n himself has played a role into hurting the girls he cares about so much [puleng , fikile].. free my dawg sam btw like yesterday

Academics Propose a ‘Blockchain University,’ Where Faculty (and Algorithms) Rule
A group of academics affiliated with Oxford University have proposed a new model of higher education that replaces traditional administrators with “smart contracts” on the blockchain, the same technology that drives Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies.
“Our aim is to create a university in which the bulk of administrative tasks are either eliminated or progressively automated,” said the effort’s founders in a white paper released earlier this year. Those proposing the idea added the university would be “a decentralised, non-profit, democratic community in which the use of blockchain technology will provide the contractual stability needed to pursue a full course of study.”
Experiments with blockchain in higher education are underway at multiple campuses around the country, and many of researchers are looking into how to use the technology to verify and deliver credentials. Massachusetts Institute for Technology, for example, began issuing diplomas via blockchain last year.
The plan by Oxford researchers goes beyond digital diplomas—and beyond many typical proposals to disrupt education in general. It argues for a completely new framework for how college is organized, how professors are paid, and how students connect with learning. In other words, it’s a long shot.
But even if the proposed platform never emerges, it is likely to spur debates about whether blockchain technology could one day allow professors to reclaim greater control of how higher education operates through digital contracts.
The platform would essentially allow professors to organize their own colleges, and teach and take payments from students directly. “Starting a college should demand equal or less bureaucratic work compared, for instance, to organising an academic conference,” the white paper argues. (Like all things involving blockchain, it’s complicated, and the group has an FAQ to answer some questions.)
Leaders are calling their platform Woolf University, and named the first college in the system Ambrose. The plan is for professors in the college to offer courses online or in person.
“Like at Oxford or Cambridge, the typical undergraduate coursework at Ambrose consists of writing two essays per week for three years,” says the plan. “The academic year at Woolf consists of three terms of 11 weeks, during which at least eight weeks concentrate on tutorial teaching. Terms conclude with a summative assessment.”
As the plan continues:
“Ambrose will encourage its faculty to produce lectures to complement each of their weekly tutorial sessions. The lectures will be made publicly available on the Woolf website, YouTube, and as podcasts. This will not only be an aid for students studying a particular paper, but the lectures will also attract students to a teachers by raising theirs visibility, and by raising the profile of the college.”
Each college in this blockchain university would determine its own admissions standards, and each would set its own tuition price, which is expected to be less than the cost of traditional universities.
Joshua Broggi, the founder of Woolf University, is a junior research fellow in philosophy at Oxford University, said in a blog post this summer that the blockchain university is opening a branch in Matla and applying for accreditation through the regulatory body there. “As a global university, we do not plan to have only one regulatory partner, and we remain in discussion with several European regulatory bodies (expect more news on that),” he wrote.
Broggi told The Times of London that the system would better connect professors and students: “Underemployment among academics and poor coordination with students is the intellectual equivalent of allowing the most expensive real estate in London or New York to sit empty. In the same way that we saw Airbnb allow for a more refined allocation of real estate resources, we believe that Woolf can make better use of academic resources.”
Woolf’s leaders are hardly the only ones arguing that blockchain has the potential to rewire higher education, said Michael Matthews, CIO at Oral Roberts University, who is a frequent speaker on the potential of blockchain at colleges. Matthews says the technology could lead to the kind of disruption that automation has brought to retail.
“Blockchain is really potentially a supply chain for education,” he said. “This allows a university to say, ‘We’re going to bypass all these processes and connect students directly to the content.’”

Phil Kessel got challenged to Mario Kart by the Capitals player he called an 'idiot'
We need every hockey beef to be settled by Mario Kart.
The snarl between the Penguins and Capitals from Game 3 has taken quite the turn.
On Tuesday, in an article for The Washington Post, Jay Beagle answered a question on the intensity of the playoffs.
Someone parroted this quote to Phil Kessel, who was not a fan. https://t.co/xIxFZEncQq http://pic.twitter.com/emmjrD33DY
— Isabelle Khurshudyan (@ikhurshudyan) May 3, 2017
“It should be nasty,” Capitals forward Jay Beagle said. “It’s the playoffs. That’s the way we like to play. That’s the way they like to play — you know, hard hits, going after each other. These are two teams that don’t like each other.”
Phil Kessel, in the worst game of hockey telephone ever, interpreted his words as a reaction to the crippling Sidney Crosby injury. That caused the normally stoic Kessel to get heated and respond: “If he thinks that's clean, he's an idiot.”
Beagle was then asked about Kessel’s response at the Capitals’ morning skate on Wednesday and gave the best gem of the postseason so far: a challenge to duke it out in Mario Kart.
Jay Beagle: "That hurts deeply. If he wants to settle it, we could always play some Mario Kart. He knows where to find me."
— Katie Brown (@katiebhockey) May 3, 2017
That response from Beagle gave us the greatest moment of levity this series has had. Over three games, the Penguins and Capitals have given us some incredible, intense, aggressive hockey. Unfortunately, missteps by the media and real unfortunate injuries have clouded this series and turned it quite nasty in some cases.
Now, the talk has shifted. An escalating situation was brought down with a challenge many of us have likely issued to friends way back when. After all the nastiness, we finally have a second to just laugh at a real gem of a quote.
Our own Scott Matla suggested that Kessel would probably play as a Shy Guy. Beagle seems like a Yoshi kind of player to me. Come for the hockey, stay for the Mario Kart analysis.

Headcanon: Yoll has trouble sleeping
Giving this one a 9 as well because it's pretty spot on especially for his earlier days!
Yoll does indeed have a hard time sleeping or even staying asleep whatsoever. This is mostly due to constantly being plagued by nightmares one after the other as well as being extremely frightful and paranoid of the dangers around him when he is alone.
Tumblr media
A lot of his nightmares tend to be rather intense to the point he wakes up crying or unable to sleep at all anymore, choosing to stay up and just ride out the rest of the night doing other things. The most sleep he'll ever get is about 3 or 4 hours if he's lucky less he passes out from sheer exhaustion.
But with sometime after being away from his home and setting off on his own journey, growing especially not to be afraid anymore, he has found that sleeping has become a little bit easier. Though the dangers he constantly fears of his surroundings still do keep him up at night and wake him every so often. Yet, he finds he can get back to sleep after a bit of reassurance in knowing he doesn't have to worry so much and that he's safe, especially if he has someone with him he can trust.

Nakarung would be fooled by a laserpointer
Oh boy, I'm giving this an 8 because he would definitely be fooled the first few times around to the point of chasing after and trying to catch it! xD
Tumblr media
But after a while, he'll figure out that he can't get a hold of it and that the laser, itself, is not something he can truly have.
YET, he'll indulge in the game and keep playing even long after he's figured out its not something he can really grasp or take. As long as its fun for him, he'll play the fool to entertain whoever holds the laser pointer to make them laugh too! x)

Even happy, Varis looks creepy/angry
I'm gonna say that's pretty close so a 9 would do for that!
The most expression Varis can give off is through the use of his eyes, which are the most expressive part of himself aside from the way his body and hands move.
But to be fair, sometimes he may not look as creepy when he is genuinely happy!
Tumblr media
Problem is, he'll still look creepy to others regardless of what he does x')
AND it doesn't help that seeing him actually being happy about something is super rare considering he's angry and/or annoyed almost 24/7. So a grumpy face is what everyone is almost always met with when it comes to meeting him x'D

I’ve got two relating to your bloodborne content.
Silas knows about, or at the very least suspects, the crimes committed by the Healing Church.
Father Crow is only half-Pthumerian. He certainly has their pearly white skin and raven black hair, but has eyes like a normal human.
Wow, you really hit the nail on the head there! Definite 10 on that one!
Silas is definitely suspicious of the kinds of the crimes the Healing Church has committed over the years thanks to his hobby of reading on his time off. His father had taught him over time to read and be open minded to the new things he learns, even if the truth isn't what we want to hear. And the more he reads and researches, the further down the rabbit hole he finds himself in.
Tumblr media
Suspicions soon turn to knowing about it to a point that somewhere down the line of his life he ends up leaving the Church to pursue better methods of dealing with things while also helping those who have been affected by the crimes of the Church and/or the control they had over people.
2. As for Father Crow, you are also correct on that one! He is indeed only half-Pthumerian! His mother being human and a noble woman at that and his father being a Pthumerian who ironically had worked with the Healing Church during its early days and had gone to a different location to aid the early rise of strange illnesses spreading about.
Tumblr media
Unfortunately, Korbin (Father Crow) knows nothing about either of his parents as his mother had given him up at birth to cover up the affair she had with his father from her husband at the time; initially lying that the baby was lost in birth. Her husband never knew of the ordeal and his father would never know of Korbin or his whereabouts, seemingly returning back to Yharnam after breaking off with his mother and living a different life at the Church entirely.
Yet, despite his ghostly pale skin and raven hair, Korbin also processes the tall height and lankiness most Pthumerians have as well! Strength also comes in hand when handling and enduring battles and hunts as a Hunter as well as having some extra boost in giving him a little more immunity to some susceptible illnesses. Yet, he still retains human weaknesses and traits as well to balance out his mixing!
He doesn't question it much nor seems to draw much thought to it either, but sometimes he does wonder about why he came out as different as he did.

🌺 My headcanon for your Koyala OC Reginald has eaten humans.
(Sorry if I keep bringing up the Koyala OC’s so much)
Oh, that's pretty much a given 10 there!
It's a surprise with Reginald's extreme hatred for humans, he'd actually choose to eat them after he kills them. But he does it and thoroughly enjoys doing so too, much preferring to eat them raw straight after a kill as to him humans just taste better that way.
Tumblr media
Its also not uncommon to find him gnawing on a finger bone every so often as well.

I think Orfeo must make nightmares often no ? Given hiw he was nearly gutted alive. Literally
I give this a 9 because yes, he does have frequent nightmares of his past and the things he has gone through, but they haven't been as frequent as they used to be!
In earlier days he spent with Pancras readjusting to his new life, his nightmares were always constant that he hardly slept well for months on end. But as time went on and he gained more comfort and freedom under Pancras's care, his fears and paranoia began to subside and become less frequent the bolder he grew.
However, that doesn't mean he is entirely free of those nightmares, especially of that one particular day. Sometimes it still does slip into his dreams and puts him through a terrible time during his sleep. But now, he knows he doesn't have to go through these fears alone. Pancras is there to help him through it and provide him comfort when he needs it, knowing now that he is forever safe with the person that loves him.
Tumblr media
And having that comfort to pull him through these tough times, makes the nightmares come less over time and for him to be less afraid each day he gets to live a happy, carefree life.
