Some of the kids I teach have really seen the conservative side of media, and I absolutely hate getting political, but it seems like there's a huge influx of toxic media nowadays. It's sick to me that they took in videos like masteroogway before he got taken down

That shouldn't be anyone's role model.

These five year olds are calling people slurs, the ten year olds are treating the lgbtq community like it's a trend, idolizing people like Trump.

Obviously they're kids so they don't understand some things, but it really bothers me when people decide to hate on what they don't know, or what they find odd.

When you watch a movie where they talk about MasterOogway and you hear him say that he can say the N-word because his ancestors were slaves… I am Kashubian (Poland), Slavs were also slaves, but I would feel awkward if I had to use N-word, damn, I'm having a challenge writing the script because my morality is getting activated, in the sense that in the case of non-white OCs, at most I could use "Nigga" (But I wouldn't be able to use the N-word itself, I would feel awkward and I would have to fight with myself for a long time to write this word, I know, it seems trivial, but it's just is, and I would use it because a lot of black characters would use that word, and compared to N-word doesn't have such a bad connotation, although white people probably shouldn't use it, I'm just telling you, it's a bad idea, because the connotations, I know, mess, I'm just saying straight)

So when I heard this, I fell down, I just fell down, it's simply related to the fact that white people used this word to attack black people (Because if a black person talking to another person with the N-word is ok, then someone from outside the group may be quite unpleasant, I speak as an autistic, when you hear "Acoustic" from able-bodied people), it's just a different context, as I mentioned, Slavs were also slaves, but if that was to justify using the N-word, it would be… Fucked up? I can't explain it any better, but you get the idea

So yes, the connotations themselves work in their own way and a lot of it has to do with the historical context, so what if your ancestors were also slaves, they were not American slaves like black people from the USA and that's the point, historical context, that's something that people they forget
