Summary: A 1v1 leaves you hunting down Masaru, watching him through your drone. But he's watching you too.

The hard lights above you were almost painfully bright. A harsh contrast compared to the darkness of the outside. A starless sky of pure obsidian melted into the city's light pollution. A curse escaped your lips as the concussion hit you. It had you ducking under cover and waiting for it to pass. When you looked up, the Yokai was gone. No bullets came, no sounds around you. No movements. You stabilized yourself and had a quick look at your drone, he was still in the same spot. The lights flickered around you and one by one they switched off, only leaving a path. One that would lead directly to him. A trap by no doubt. When you hesitated another concussion game. This time your finger flung on the trigger and with some dumb luck you managed to hit it while you clutched your head. One down, he wouldn’t be so wreckless with the next one. 

Every step you took had your hair stick up, he was toying with you. The little lights of all the cameras were lit every time you passed them, it made shooting them a little more relieving. The light path had you angsty, on one hand, it would be too obvious but then again it would be too predictable to attempt a flank. Masaru was toying with you. You stuck to the path, there wouldn’t be any more cameras. A long breath left your lips when you reached the dining room entrance. A flash left your hands and you pushed forward to his location. Only to discover he was missing. Mentally you cursed yourself that you hadn’t checked the drone one last time. Your eyes glanced up for a moment to see the Yokai stuck to the roof but before you could lift your gun a cold metal of a pistol pressed against the back of your head. “Predictable. You're going to have to try harder than that.” The hunter had become the hunted.

much to your dismay, you and masaru's bond had been nothing more than a close friendship ever since the first mission you two had went on together, you spent time in the workshop, going out to small cafes near the base, and sharing your opinions which you felt were too blunt for the rest of rainbow together.

it was great and all, but you couldn't help but yearn to hold his hand when you two were headed anywhere, or to rest your head on his on the trip to your next missions. masaru being the lowkey inexpressive guy he is, he was giving you major mixed signals and you spent your nights stressing over what to do over this childish crush.

the clock read 22:17 and you were spending your night with masaru in the workshop, working on your gadgets together after a tiring mission.

his gun lay on the left side of the table while he attempted to fix a problem in his gadgets. you had finished everything you needed to do by now, and were just waiting on him to finish. you study his concentrated face as strands of his dark, nearly black hair fall forward and cover his forehead. boredom sinking in, you then tilt your head and take a look at your surroundings, shelves, saws, worn down work desks, and to your surprise, a little dumpling charm on your friends gun.

"awww, i never knew you had this on your gun" you chirped as your heart melts at the small addition to his equipment "it's so cute!!!" this causes masaru to turn his head over and see what on earth youre freaking out over, before turning back to his work and muttering something so hushed that you nearly miss it; “あなたも、あなたが知っている”😮. (you too, you know)

without really thinking, a response in the same language slips from your mouth; “なぜありがとう、私はあなたについて同じことが言えます” (why thank you, i could say the same about you) 🤭 masaru’s head snaps over to look at you, as you smile at him, not realising that he never thought you would understand. you admired him, feeling fuzzy as he stammered a “uhh n- no problem, never knew you spoke japanese.” awkward for him, but a dream come true for you!

maxim isn't very talkative, he doesn't really see the point in chitchat, and he doesn't wanna make himself vulnerable in that way if ya get what i mean, and you know this, yet still put in the effort and managed to befriend him. it was difficult, of course, but it was worth it in the end when you got to uncover the sweet man he really is.

he could be cold, but you knew he never meant it, and you could always tell when he was secretly enjoying the supposedly 'annoying' rants you have would have with him on late nights after a mission in an attempt to converse with the russian man.

fast forwarding a wee bit, the cold and hard seat welcomed you inside of the helicopter. it was a fairly easy mission you had just been on and only 2 operators were needed so you and kapkan had went together. it was now time for the journey back to the base.

you knew maxim was tired, but you wanted to help him destress and loosen him up from the recent action he partook in.

"hey, can you believe the alexsandr (tachanka) called me a loser earlier!! i was outraged! i know he never meant it but still!" you began, slightly sarcastically, as you weren’t actually offended by the title

"what? why?" his tone was more inquisitive than usual, maybe because it was his fellow spetznaz member committing such atrocities, or because he wasn't his usual self that day for some odd reason. you appreciated the fact that he was definitely listen though. despite this, your response of “i dunno” didn’t answer his question well.

“Я не думаю, что ты неудачник, я думаю, ты довольно крут, ты знаешь” (i don’t think you’re a loser, i think you’re pretty cool, you know)

you feel your cheeks radiate a subtle warmth as you raise your eyebrows slightly in surprise at his sweet yet unexpected comment. “спасибо, максим, хотя если я крут, то какой ты?! ahа” (thanks maxim, but if i’m cool then what does that make you? aha) your response made his ears go red and his eyes widen, which you could see through the gap in his mask. maxims eyes being ever so slightly more exposed to the sunlight leaking into the helicopter. his eyes met yours and a simple smile was exchanged, one that would be the start of something

Echo & Goyo Headcanons: Reader Gets Injured on a Mission

Trigger Warnings: injuries, stress, irritation, disbelief, injuries, mentions of a critical state

Echo

☆ Ever since you had joined Rainbow, Masaru’s never been happier

☆ Sure he had previously dated Siu back in the day, and he’s been reserved ever since romance wise, but you were seemingly the one who changed this in him

☆ But when he heard you were off on a risky solo espionage operation by Harry, his heart became stone cold because of how frustrated he was

☆ Masaru worried himself everyday, finding it a bit harder to sleep or focus

☆ And every time before he went to bed, he would hope you would come back without a single scratch

☆ The universe was a terrible thing, and soon enough, Masaru would get word that you’d been critically injured upon extraction from your operation

☆ Masaru was alarmed immediately, as he was not given word in your chances of survival, and he sprinted all the way to the medical ward

☆ Forced to wait outside, Masaru stayed up the entire time it took for you to be out of your critical condition, and he was let inside

☆ Masaru gripped your hand tightly, asking you what had happened and how you got caught

☆ You explained everything in detail, and once he found out information was relayed to you at the wrong time, it sent him into a silent rage

☆ “How can they be so stupid to just…get the information to you at the wrong time? Whoever did it, I’ll deal with them.” Masaru will say, clearly infuriated

☆ The only way to get him to calm down is to kiss him and tell him you were okay, and that you wouldn’t let anything happen to yourself ever again, and he’d simply hold onto you like you were the last thing he needed

Goyo

♡ César always believed in your ability to get out of a situation unscathed, and when you were sent away on a joint operation, he knew you’d come back safe

♡ However, when César then heard your communications and location was lost to everyone else, that’s when he began to stress himself out

♡ He would spend a lot of time with Azucena, asking her for advice on how to calm his anxieties

♡ She would remind him of how good you were at taking care of yourself, as well as all the times you’ve saved him, and it would help calm his anxieties

♡ However, all his anxieties come true, as it was reported you had been found abandoned in a critical condition

♡ César felt like his world was falling apart all around him again, just like it had when he was younger

♡ The near death experience he had which caused his father and sister’s deaths still traumatized him, thought not as much as it had before

♡ But possibly losing the love of his life? This was the last straw for César

♡ He couldn’t bear the thought of losing another loved one to violence like this, and it sent him into a frustrated bout of depression

♡ Once it was announced you could take visitors, César was the first one to see you and immediately asked you for what happened

♡ You had gotten separated from everyone else and ambushed, where you were severely beaten and attacked until you had to pretend you were dead before you were left for dead, only to be discovered by everyone else once they got a ping of enemy comms

♡ César then held you tightly, apologizing for not being there, and vowed to keep you safe whenever he was around, “No te puedo perder…I can’t lose you…I’ll follow you to the end of the Earth if I have to, amor…”

I wish Echo had more proper lore so people drew him but I could also say the same about Flores, the other half of my Siege experience. I think I tend to like unpopular guys unfortunately

It’s another save file update! Yeah, I know putting in Iana was a little too early but due to a silly Discord joke about her being a Shampoo Model made me tempted to get her in early. Depicted here are her formal, party and normal attire respectively.

Aside from Iana, VIgil and Echo joins the Team Asia household. They’re donning their normal, formal and party wear respectively for their set.

NOTE: I might apply follow-up updates for Echo and Vigil. Echo needs a messier hair and I cannot find Vigil’s Korean Hanbok because that’s supposed to be his formal wear.

Echo Headcanons: Waking Up

Trigger Warnings: None, all fluff!

♡ Since Masaru had a tendency to stay at the R&D facility tinkering with his own drones until very late at night, he would always sleep in

♡ With that being said, this meant Masaru was not a morning person at all

♡ Whenever he felt he had woken up to early, he would be put into a terrible mood for the rest of the day if he can’t fall back to sleep

♡ If he managed to go back to sleep, however, Masaru would wake up in much higher spirits

♡ His hair, despite already being quite ruffled already, would be even fluffier in the morning due to how much he tossed and turned

♡ All Masaru would really to do resolve this was by patting it down a bit and shaking his head to each side at least 5 times before seeing if it’s fine

♡ If Masaru were to ever sleep with a partner in his bed, he would sleepily apologize for stealing the blanket before taking a good amount of it and hiding away from the sun

♡ Masaru hates the sun.

♡ If also with a partner, he would force them to stay in bed with him if he was still sleepy by clinging tightly to them

♡ “Don’t leave, just a bit longer…” he would mumble in his morning voice

♡ Masaru’s morning voice was very deep and raspy, his accent a bit thicker as well
