In a case that shocked Sweden, 38-year-old doctor Martin Trenneborg was dubbed the “Swedish Josef Fritzl” after kidnapping a young woman and imprisoning her in a meticulously designed dungeon near Kristianstad, southern Sweden.
Trenneborg's disturbing plan began when he drugged the woman with strawberries laced with Rohypnol, a powerful sedative, and drove her to his remote home, where he had constructed a soundproof, underground cell with the intent of holding her captive for as long as ten years.
Trenneborg's elaborate precautions included wearing two different masks to conceal his identity from the victim. Over the course of a week, the woman endured repeated sexual assaults while being locked in this dungeon. Investigators later uncovered that the doctor had carefully planned the kidnapping, stockpiling supplies and preparing his home to imprison the woman indefinitely.
His plan unraveled when he returned to her apartment to gather some of her personal belongings, only to find the police already investigating her disappearance. Panicked, Trenneborg brought the woman to a police station, attempting to spin a false story. He claimed that he had abducted her because he was "lonely" and wanted a companion, though this bizarre explanation did nothing to mitigate the severity of his crime.
Trenneborg was sentenced to ten years in prison.

In a chilling case reminiscent of the “Swedish Josef Fritzl,” Martin Trenneborg, a 38-year-old doctor, employed a horrifying plan to abduct and imprison a young woman. The ordeal began when he drugged her with strawberries laced with Rohypnol, rendering her unconscious.
Trenneborg then transported her to his residence, located near Kristianstad in southern Sweden, where he had constructed a dungeon. In an attempt to conceal his identity, he wore two different masks during the entire ordeal.
For a harrowing week, Trenneborg subjected his victim to repeated acts of rape while she remained captive in the dungeon. Disturbingly, investigations later uncovered his intention to keep her captive for up to ten years. However, his twisted scheme took an unexpected turn when he returned to her apartment to retrieve some of her belongings.
Upon witnessing the police conducting a search in the area, he panicked and brought the woman to a police station, where he concocted a false story about the events that had transpired. In his fabricated account, he claimed to have kidnapped her out of a sense of loneliness and a desire for a partner.
Following a thorough legal process, Trenneborg was ultimately sentenced to ten years in prison for his heinous crimes. The severity of the sentence reflects the gravity of his actions and the immense suffering he inflicted upon his victim during her horrifying ordeal.

Posing as a rich American, 38-year-old Swedish doctor, Martin Trenneborg, met up with a woman who he’d been talking to online and surprised her with Champagne and chocolate-dipped strawberries. The romantic gesture had a sickening twist, as the chocolate had been infused with Rohypnol. Once drugged, Martin used two different masks in an attempt to hide his identity. He bound his victim to a wheelchair before driving her to his cabin in the Swedish countryside. There, he had built a “dungeon” and planned to keep the woman as his captive for "at least a decade". For 6 days, he raped his prisoner repeatedly.
One morning, he brazenly travelled back to her apartment to retrieve some of her belongings. Unsurprisingly, a heavy police presence surrounded the area, and Martin began to panic. He drove to the nearest police station where he casually confessed to the crime. He played the victim and said he only did it because he was very lonely and longed for a girlfriend. A judge sentenced him to 10 years in prison.

On 10 September, 2015, 38-year-old doctor, Martin Trenneborg, arrived at his date’s apartment in Stockholm, Sweden. The pair enjoyed each other’s company and both agreed to a second date two days later. On 12 September, 2015, the pair had sex, ate strawberries and drank champagne. However, Martin did not romantic intentions, his intentions would be much more sinister than his date could ever imagine. The strawberries were brought by Martin and were in fact laced with Rohypnol. After feeding his date strawberries, he drove 350 miles to his farmhouse near Kristianstad, Sweden, where he had spent the last 5 years building a secret bunker/dungeon. Martin held his date captive for 6 days, wearing two bizarre masks in a desperate attempt to conceal his identity while he repeatedly raped her. An extensive investigation eventually revealed that he had intended to hold the woman captive for as long as 10 years. He told his date that he planned to kidnap another woman. He wanted to target a celebrity. His plan was to dress as a plumber and knock on his victims door and then kidnap her. His plan was exposed when he went back to her apartment to fetch a few of her belongings and saw local police searching the area only to discover that she had been reported missing and police had broken into her apartment. After that, he panicked and decided to take the woman to the police station to tell them a false story as to what had happened to her. However, officers grew suspicious and took the woman to one side where she later revealed the truth. Martin Trenneborg was arrested and admitted to drugging the woman, kidnapping her and holding her captive, however, he denied raping her. It was uncovered from Martin’s computer that he had scouted 10 other women before finally settling on his chosen victim. He said: "She was suppose be my girlfriend for years, that was the purpose. But now that I am imprisoned she will not be my girlfriend in the ordinary sense, even I can understand that.” He claimed he had kidnapped the woman because he felt lonely. In 2016, he was sentenced to 10 years.

Update: It was decreased to 8 yrs.
Because he "has depression". And because there "isnt enough evidence" to prove rape, despite the fact that he (as a doctor) took blood samples from her to check for STDs.
He built the bunker to be light and sound proof.
He'll be out in public and free by his 50s.
