The new current X-Factor is the unlucky superhero team like the redshirt X-Statix. Warren Worthington's new team of X-Factor (consisting of Warren Worthington III, Feral, Rusty Collins, and the two newer mutants, Xyber and Cameo) are the mutant celebrities when they go out on their dangerous mission to stop the Russian Mutant Mercenaries in the mutant arms race. The X-Factor have a disaster at both the Red Carpet and at their first mission. On the meeting at the Red Carpet, the new X-Factor are met with jeers and pelted rotten eggs from both humans and mutants. On their first mission, they go to Kunashir Island at Russia where they fight Darkstar and the mercenary mutants. The first mission ended with a disaster when Cameo and Darkstar's mercenaries accidentally blew up the power plant, causing the deaths and injuries of many mutants. Rusty, Feral and Cameo are killed while Warren was badly injured.

Later on, the newer X-Factor team are on the Red Carpet again with its new members consisting of Havok, Frenzy, Pyro, Cecilia Reyes and Granny Smite the oldest new mutant. Poor Xyber the newest and youngest mutant survivor is traumatized from the first mission yet he's forced to go on another potential dangerous mission with the rest of his substitute team.

It was fun. I laughed. I’ll definitely continue reading it. The “completely interchangeable”team concept is giving me “Exiles” vibes.

“Granny Smite” is the world’s oldest mutant. Her immortality power did not activate until she was already an elderly woman. She attempts to die on each mission. I already love her.
