You know how Newtopia is covered in sea motifs? How its king wears a coral crown? How Marcy's clothes always have some kind of seashell or wave design? How predominantly blue everything about Newtopia is? It would lead you to believe newts are associated with water and the sea, right? Frogs are seen in swamps and woodsy areas, while toads seem to live in a dryer, rockier terrain, but surely newts are all water, right?

No. As paradoxical as it may seem, newts are associated with fire.

I wonder if anyone else has thought about how many people were named after one of the original Infinights, and how many people ended up named after members of the main party post-campaign. I am still thinking about who would have the least people named after them. (giant ramble under the cut, it's about three paragraphs long if you're willing to read it)

For the original Infinights,- I'm thinking about them in their heyday for context,- maybe Leanord/Spectril? He became a rogue as a defense mechanism and might tend to stay hidden when things get a bit too stressful. It makes logical sense to me that less people would care enough about him to name their kids after him. He's probably not a people person, at least that's how he reads to me. Like he wouldn't be in the public eye as often.

Ostin/Slique though? He's a bard. He was extremely excited to share his symphony with the world, too. He likely would've been a fair bit more popular amongst the people (Until the events of Deja Urbloom, that is.) Alongside Marcy/Elleve because she's a healer, people tend to see legendary healers as saints in fantasy, you may already know how this goes.

I'm not entirely sure about Bo/Grislee though. I don't know if people would think of her fiery personality as a good or bad thing. Some people may see her as being passionate about her work as an Infinight, while others may just think she's too aggressive. She might just be middle of the road in terms of people named after her for all I know. Or maybe she has a lot of people named after her because of her more neutral name, who knows?

Okay so I mentioned how Sasha doesn't fall somehow? I think I figured it out. See, Sasha did two nearly unforgivable acts, and the second should have definitely caused her to fall. Like, staging a coup and imprisoning both your best friends? Fall worth for sure. Heck, even she was surprised, having expecting this to happen. But the sashanne is too strong lol. Of course, that's only part of it, because the marcanne is also strong. Anne knows Sasha is not a great friend, but she can't pin all the blame on her, she won't. She believes Grime encouraged her to be even worse, that Grime is pressuring her to do these things, so Sasha doesn't fall.

Marcy does. Why's that, you might say? Because now Anne knows that Andrias manipulated her, of course, so shouldn't she hold that same sliver of forgiveness that she holds for Sasha? But she doesn't. Because Andrias had nothing to do with lying to them about the box, nothing to do with dragging her away from her family, her life. That was all Marcy. So all the blame falls onto her shoulders, covering her with darkness, a shadow that will never leave.

Also another bit of info for this Au, those cracks in his fur are only really dangerous right when he shifts or when he’s intentionally raising his body temperature (or unintentionally, like when he’s being threatened). Once enough heat is released they’re safe enough to touch and won’t set much on fire (still probably a good idea to keep a fire extinguisher nearby).

Time slips by and still the Interns are out. Dr. Ahem watches over Marcy diligently, checking her pulse and her breathing to keep his mind distracted. When she finally opens her eyes just for a moment, breath still labored, she looks to Dr. Ahem and smiles. “Welcome back,” he puts a hand on hers. “Everything will be okay.”
