If I need to make a consecutive list which I am committing to now I guess. Why did i do this? Probably for the bit but here’s my list

Sparklecare: Barry, Hemera, Funfetti, Polly, Kiki, Finn, Reese, Chip, Mel, Cyn, Scratch, Pepper, Pinata, Party, Mari, Bea, the Sugar Twins, Brigh (I can fix him I can make him not a nothingburger character I swear)

Cometcare: Marco, Frosty, Cream, Chem, Chloe Berry, Jolly, Soob, Maddie, Scrap, Cory, Pinch, Faerie

Mostly my reasoning boils down to “I can fix them” or something along those lines, or I just need them out of this comic at this point.

Like, actively it’s stated in Marco’s toyhouse page that he has insomnia

Idk maybe it’s just me but I find it really, really stupid to make Marco’s Allotpun about a sleep disorder and then say it’s actually a reference to Marco’s entirely different sleep disorder. I dunno it just makes me (probably) irrationally annoyed

also the new cometkid Toyhouse pages hurt to look at, but that’s just a me thing

This could’ve been from anything else, hell Marco could’ve just inherited Polly’s sleeping issues in some form (it isn’t a perfect idea but it’s actually something), but no it’s just for another sex joke. KC try to have a serious moment not be a set up for another stupid sex joke challenge

My favorite has been and always will be Marco, he was my favorite Cometkids when Cometcare first started out and it’s stayed that way for a long time. I’d have too many honorable mentions that are just side characters, but shout out to the side characters of Sparklecare and Cometcare because they have potential and I can work with it.

Condensing my least favorite characters into a list it would have to be Ally, Eve, all of the comet parents, Uni kind of in general with how woobified she’s become, Violet and Alphie, Cometcare Miley, and all of the main characters in DarkerMatters (except Siri, I like Siri a bit)

Genuinely curious!! And I’ll go first!!

My favorite character is Ribbon and an honorable mention is Mood!! I just genuinely like Ribbon’s design and have always loved its segment in the Preboot with the gift shop—and from what I’ve heard it’s gonna appear in volume 5, so crossing my fingers we’ll get to see it!! Also, I might make a whole post about Mood because.. heh..

My least favorite is probably Doom.. a lot of his character has been stripped and he just feels like he can’t do any wrong anymore. Honestly even when I first read S//C I never liked him anyways. He’s been woobified, if that makes sense. And it’s sad, because I really wanted to like skull. (I could also make a whole post about what happened to Uni if you guys are interested in my thoughts..)

As much as KC loves to retcon how shitty some characters are to make them look better (Eve, it’s mainly Eve),Marco’s trauma from his parents using him as a fifth parent is never brushed aside. From what little we got of him in the Solar Fair arc so far, we see his trauma and feelings about his family be validated by his boyfriend. So at least one of these characters gets to both have their trauma a bit focused on and also not retconned into him actually liking being the fifth parent.

I can definitely see Marco never forgiving his parents for what they did to him. I think it would probably go a lot differently than Sly confronting Eve, but he gets his moment to tell his parents how he really feels. Get him out of that house forever he deserves to be happy.

Yippee Auto!!! I’m probably gonna redesign it (it’ll still exist as it is now but I care about it too much to keep it stuck in KC’s hell dimension /silly) for the little world me and my brother have for our old Sparklecare and Cometcare ocs but I said I’d design a no Cometcare version of it and completely forgot lmao

Also Auto lore!!! Auto is very close with Faerie and completely understands his dislike of their mother because that’s such a horrifying knowledge to have all the time. He also told Eve once that abusing her sister won’t make fen like her and how awful squeak treats people. Someone has to say it and if it won’t be Scrap (I have an idea I’m cooking up about this) then Auto will gladly do it.

Hello and welcome to Marco’s brand new sparklecriticism blog!!!!

Hello there friends, the name’s Marco (though I also go by Chem, Berry, Cyn, Polaris, Siri, Frosty, Brigh, Kiki, and SugarRush. Though Marco is more preferred currently), I go by a shitton of pronouns but He/It/Wolf/Moon/Comet/Byte are the ones I’ll go by mainly here.

I am a Genderqueer Nonbinary trans man who’s ace and Omnigay, autistic and full of disordered anxiety, and very much fictionkin of several Sparklecare/Cometcare/Darkermatters (but not really that much for DM) characters. I am also a minor and I really don’t wanna link anywhere back to my main blog (probably could be obvious to some who kinda know me but y’know)

This whole blog isn’t to attack KC or anyone on the staff or anyone who likes the comic, Sparklecare was a huge hyperfixation of mine and still is. I just wish to talk about my own issues with the comic and the aus for the comic, though most sparklecrit blogs have already done well on things I wanna speak about. So this blog will probably be for anyone who wants to rant about anything Sparklecare, and I’ll do my best to give my own thoughts

Also this might be a place where I feel safe to talk about my own fictionkin stuff and shit, as currently I might’ve accidentally gotten myself in a Marco kinshift and a bunch of other things but this will primarily be a crit blog I prommy.

Don’t like her and it’s for similar reasons to Eve. That being that kit is KC’s fursona and anything kit does wrong in Cometcare gets brushed aside because kit is KC’s fursona and therefore can do no wrong. I guess she might’ve gotten consequences for her actions once 8n Arc 6 from posting about a UFO sighting, but honestly it felt so forced (idk might make my own post about it maybe).

Idk to me kit’s one of the most uninteresting Cometkids overall, the one thing I do like about kit is kit’s design. It isn’t bad and i think the star theming is cute. But everything else about her is either not very interesting or unlikable
