Jandy my favorite bnuuy (also you’re so right Jandy and Dr Stone are heavily underrated). Made her a Giant Angora Rabbit because she deserves to be very fluffy

Anyways opinion time!!! Gosh I love Jandy, I really love all of the Chunklings but Jandy is one I find very interesting mainly due to her illness, Candy Coughs. We’re never told what Candy Coughs even does as a disease all we know is that Jandy has it, which sucks because I think Candy Coughs could be a really cool illness to learn about like Growlygus. It’s a shame she hasn’t been focused on in a while, as well as the other Chunklings, but she is very near and dear to my heart (if anyone wants to know my favorite Chunklings it’s Scratch and Pepper, but I love all those sparkle’d creatures)

Sadly I didn’t finish this drawing digitally but I wanted to also put Dr. Stone here, I don’t really have much of an opinion on her right now because we barely know anything about her but I really love her design it’s so cool

I don’t really know what I’m doing with this creature other than making another version of it that’s just a sona because I can or whatever (idk I like this guy a little design wise kinda) but shout out to tumblr users sickovitall and sickknotdoom for the inspiration to make this guy (not @‘d because idk if you all are fine with that)

Anyways people with complex or contradictory identities are so cool and swag and I think we should make SC and/or CC characters have more weird identities and shit

I genuinely don’t understand how one can look at the character named after a sleep disorder, who’s basically been thrust into a parental role to SO MANY siblings, filled with enough stress to power a small city, and go ‘hehe lazy boi’

I’m honestly kinda happy that people do agree with me on how I feel about that one ask calling Marco lazy, I honestly was worried a tiny bit that I was overreacting but I’m glad to see other people agree with me. I am a very big Marco enthusiast and I will not see him slandered like that /silly

So I may have a tiny bit of bias cuz y’know, that’s me right there, but I do think that Berry is an interesting fella. Though this version of him (through my memories) is called Barley so yeah that’s fun. Like Jandy, I wish he was seen more outside of his introduction arc cuz he’s really neat to my brain. But yeah, it me :)

Anyways you wanna hear about how I love Mel’s old design for no real reason? Cuz I sure do! /silly

So as much as I do like Mel’s current design I really have a love for his old design too. I love the spots he has, his double fangs, his hair color, how his ear has notches in them and also the shape it has, his tail being so funky looking, his old colors in general. It’s something I really love for no actual good reason but he just looks so funky.

You just made me notice how fandom just decides that wanting to sleep because of insomnia -> "lazy boy", having difficulties showering due to body dysphoria -> "stinky boy" ToT

Yeah it’s really not great in general, I think at least with Marco it hopefully isn’t going to be a running joke like with Sly’s hygiene but then Sly just constantly gets made fun of for her hygiene both in the story and in the fandom.

Like, would y’all call Polly lazy for constantly sleeping due to his TUC? Or would you make fun of Uni for pups depression and what pup isn’t able to do because of it? The answer should be no, but when it comes to Marco and Sly I guess suddenly it gets thrown out the window because hehe Sly stinky and hehe Marco is trying to sleep despite having horrible insomnia what a lazy boy

Sparklecare fandom try not to make fun of characters who can’t do specific things due to their disabilities or make fun of characters for trying to do something despite their disabilities challenge (impossible)

So fun little update thingie about me reading Marco’s section in arc 6 and how it is going: it’s fine enough right now, though the ask that called Marco a lazy boy pissed me off severely for probably no reason (Marco being called lazy for wanting to sleep despite having some pretty fucked up insomnia as someone who also has pretty bad insomnia it made me a little upsetti spaghetti)

Other than that I’m just finally glad Marco is actually getting focused on for once and that I’m severely hoping that there’s so similar thing to Eve’s poor treatment of Sly being completely swept under the rug, just something similar to that happening with Marco and stuff

Hello and welcome to Marco’s brand new sparklecriticism blog!!!!

Hello there friends, the name’s Marco (though I also go by Chem, Berry, Cyn, Polaris, Siri, Frosty, Brigh, Kiki, and SugarRush. Though Marco is more preferred currently), I go by a shitton of pronouns but He/It/Wolf/Moon/Comet/Byte are the ones I’ll go by mainly here.

I am a Genderqueer Nonbinary trans man who’s ace and Omnigay, autistic and full of disordered anxiety, and very much fictionkin of several Sparklecare/Cometcare/Darkermatters (but not really that much for DM) characters. I am also a minor and I really don’t wanna link anywhere back to my main blog (probably could be obvious to some who kinda know me but y’know)

This whole blog isn’t to attack KC or anyone on the staff or anyone who likes the comic, Sparklecare was a huge hyperfixation of mine and still is. I just wish to talk about my own issues with the comic and the aus for the comic, though most sparklecrit blogs have already done well on things I wanna speak about. So this blog will probably be for anyone who wants to rant about anything Sparklecare, and I’ll do my best to give my own thoughts

Also this might be a place where I feel safe to talk about my own fictionkin stuff and shit, as currently I might’ve accidentally gotten myself in a Marco kinshift and a bunch of other things but this will primarily be a crit blog I prommy.

I miss old reboot Ribbon's design, that's all I have to say. I miss its sleevless shirt and a silly badge that it had :(

You actually got me to look back at the archived preboot pages and I MISS ITS OLD DESIGN TOOOOO

I like its outfits and bands on its arms, I like its pink tail tip instead of it being white, I love its green eyes with star-shaped pupils, I love just how bendy it is it just looks so cool!!!!!

please rant abt eve. Please .

I know so many people have said this about Eve before, but what if the ever loving fuck is up with KC just not addressing Eve’s behavior

That specific update where Sly said that fen wasn’t actually bothered by it (just ignore literally every other arc up to arc 6) and played into the anger to make squeak happy was what made me want to actually get into the Sparklecrit community in the first place.

There are so many layers to my anger it’s unreal, simply starting with the retcon of Sly’s feelings about Eve’s teasing. It makes no sense to just suddenly change this right after Sky told Carl that Eve literally shoved her into a thornbush. Then there’s how shitty Eve’s teasing is in the first place with Sly’s hygiene. I also have difficulty keeping up with hygiene due to depression, dysphoria, sensory issues etc so Eve’s teasing always felt bad because I knew what it was like to be in Sly’s position. And just to add to my anger almost everyone treats Eve like she can do no wrong which is bullshit. It felt so weird how no one else saw how terrible Eve’s actions were, I felt like I had to like Eve despite her being genuinely unlikeable as a character.

I talked to my brother about it and just, the way Eve’s actions are just excused just doesn’t work when we know why Sly has such poor hygiene. If you tell me Sly has poor hygiene due to depression and dysphoria I’m going to think Eve making fun of fens hygiene is shitty even if she doesn’t know the full reason. I get Eve is KC’s self-insert and all but like squeak’s still an asshole, just because squeak’s your self-insert it doesn’t mean squeak’s actions should be ignored.

In general my least favorite characters in Cometcare have always been Ally and Eve, and the fact they never take accountability for their actions doesn’t help.

I have no clue if this is coherent but there is one thing I know for sure: I don’t wanna share a birthday with Eve please KC I already go through enough please just let a Ratfox have a break (and also the kin feels about Eve and Ally are more incoherent lmao)
