Merayat Rollet-Andriane formerly Merayat Krasesin or Marayat Bibidh is known by her pen name: Emanuelle Arsan, an erotic fiction writer whose character in the book Emanuelle is also well-known all over the world following its movie adaptation. These books are basically the second series of Emanuelle. I must admit that the sequel is better than the first one even particularly it’s mostly always related to incest, pedophilia, swinger and bestiality. The story tends to be super flat if you’re an avid erotica reader. Why? Well, simply because this book tells us something which we often see in the erotic books: normalisation of open relationship, defloration, voyeur, sex toys and nudity. Yet what makes the book interesting is how Arsan contrasts the values of Christianity to promiscuity through the characters of Anne Maria and Emanuelle herself. I love it when she also gives her opinion related to eroticism. The prose in the book is digestible and giving you the sense that the story is taken from the writer’s real life because of her great ability in describing and plotting the scene and places. Some of you may find that the sexual desc. In this book are nasty like: drinking semen and its explanation. In addition, the writer is like giving the tendency to explain and normalise incest, pedophilia and bestiality as well as those so-considered deviant and immoral sexual activities for most common people. I personally don’t want to comment on that. But what I want to say is: the movie sequels of Emanuelle starred by Sylvia Kristel and Laura Gemser are way better and entertaining than the book.
