The November LNETM will feature a fireside chat with Adrian Colyer, Venture Parter and CTO at Accel Partners. Adrian is also the author of the prominent tech blog The Morning Paper, which focuses on reviewing a mix of the latest research and foundational papers in computer science.

Adrian will be interviewed by Fintan Ryan, who is an industry analyst with Redmonk, a developer focused tech research firm.

Adrian Colyer (Venture Partner at Accel Partners)

Adrian Colyer has been involved in open-source infrastructure companies for more than 20 years, having previously held CTO roles with SpringSource, VMware and Pivotal.

As a venture partner, Adrian works with software-based companies across Europe, and is a board member or observer for ClusterHQ, Skipjaq and Weaveworks. Adrian is originally from London.

He writes “The Morning Paper”, a CS blog reviewing a mix of the latest research and foundational papers in computer science.

Fintan Ryan (Industry Analyst at Redmonk)

Fintan Ryan is an industry analyst at RedMonk, the developer focused industry analyst firm.

Fintan's research focuses on all things related to developers, from tooling to methodologies and the organisational aspects of software development. His primary research areas include software lifecycle, cloud native computing architectures, data and analytics, DevOps, machine learning, artificial intelligence and blockchain.

Prior to joining RedMonk, Fintan held senior roles across management, development, services and strategy in both startups and enterprise technology vendors. He holds an MSc in Information Systems Strategy from Dublin City University.

Honda FerioThe Honda Civic has been a legend in the JDM market and the sixth generation model even further hyped its popularity. This car is famous for its modding and most of these cars at the moment are with car lovers and enthusiasts. With all the hype created by this car, Honda created a remastered model called the Honda Civic Ferio, this was supposed to be the extra special and sporty model as a treat for the Honda Civic lovers. The full name of the car was the Honda Civic Ferio Vi-RS 1.5-litre.  The sad part is that these 4 door sedans were only sold in the Japanese markets and nowhere else in the world. This made owning one of these even more special and rare than ever. It had the special 1.5-litre D15B three-stage VTEC which was an inline four-cylinder engine with V-TEC kicking in. Two transmissions were offered, a five-speed automatic and a 5-speed manual gearbox. Truly talking the manual is much more fun and involved the engine giving high rev's. For a true car enthusiast, there is nothing better than a high Revving manual.To make it more special than the ordinary models, Honda gave the VI-RS a three-way switch marked D, S1, or S2. These switches were basically driving modes. D was for ordinary or simple driving while the D2 was the sports mode. These modes affected the cars use of Cam, air-fuel mapping of the ECU and the gearbox behavior on the automatic models. Simply in sports mode, the fastest cam was used, more fuel and air was pumped into the engine and gear shifts were made quicker.
