Fútbol : Diego Martínez da con la tecla (1-3).

El equipo amarillo sumó su tercera victoria de la temporada en un ejercicio de supervivencia donde mostró una versión totalmente desconocida hasta la fecha, sufriendo sin balón y siendo contundente en las áreas. No fue mejor la UD que el Rayo y sufrió más de 30 disparos en contra, pero ya no es tan fácil batir la portería de Cillessen. Fábio Silva, Aridane en propia puerta y Manu Fuster hicieron los goles.

Es indudable que la mano de Diego Martínez ya se nota en esta UD, que no juega especialmente bonito, pero compite como exige una competición como la Primera División. Que no es superior a sus rivales, pero es el típico equipo incómodo del que ningún aficionado dice que «es el mejor equipo que ha pasado por aquí» pero del que se van con rabia por no poder hincarle el diente pese a sentirse superior. Oficio, que dirían los más viejos del lugar.

Además, el técnico gallego ha dejado claras sus preferencias. No por sus declaraciones, pero sí por el once que suele disponer, del que sólo introdujo una novedad respecto al partido de hace una semana con la entrada de Javi Muñoz por Campaña en el medio. Ni rastro de Mika Mármol en el once, indiscutible hasta la lesión que se produjo en septiembre. Ni de Mcburnie, que se ha visto relegado al rol de delantero suplente ante el buen hacer de Fábio Silva, un jugador que sin hacer demasiado ruido empieza a demostrar que no andaban desencaminados cuando se pagaron 40 millones de euros por él años atrás.

Y eso que el partido pudo empezar con drama, cuando Camello, que le dio la tarde a Álex Suárez, se plantó ante Cillessen pero no acertó a disparar entre palos. Quien sí lo hizo fue Fábio Silva a la primera que tuvo y en un registro que no había explotado hasta ahora. Centro medido de Sandro al primer palo y allí emerge el delantero portugués para cabecear de forma inapelable a gol. El inicio soñado. Quiso responder rápido el Rayo, pero en una acción parecida, el remate de Lejeune se estrelló con la parte posterior del larguero.

Gol tempranero

Precisamente desde el córner tuvo el segundo la UD, cuando Álex Muñoz también se adelantó al segundo palo pero no pudo dirigir bien su remate, que se encontró Fábio Silva sin tiempo de reacción. Trató de dormir el partido la UD, siempre incómoda ante el ritmo alto que proponía el Rayo de Íñigo Pérez especialmente por los costados. Moleiro y Sandro no aparecían, Kirian apenas entraba en juego y los amarillos sufrían corriendo detrás del balón, pero Essugo, sin dar su versión brillante de días atrás, aparecía por todas partes para apagar fuegos.

Sólo a la media hora tuvo el Rayo dos ocasiones consecutivas que provocaron algunas miradas de toques de atención entre los amarillos. Primero Pep Chavarría se topaba con Cillessen tras una gran jugada colectiva y justo después Gumbau, en otra gran combinación, cruzaba en exceso ante el meta neerlandés. La suerte también vestía de amarillo y así se llegó al descanso.

Tras la reanudación, mismo guion con el Rayo aún más volcado si cabe, combinando remates lejanos, saques de esquina y ataques de todo tipo. Sufrían los amarillos ante la desesperación de un Fábio Silva, cansado de fajarse con Aridane y Lejeune sin que le llegase un balón en condiciones. La UD se adaptó a vivir sufriendo y jugar a la contra, y así tuvo una buena ocasión Sandro para poner tierra de por medio, pero el grancanario no anduvo certero con su disparo. Era un espejismo, ya que los amarillos apenas sobrevivían achicando agua ante la avalancha de acometidas rayistas.

Otro córner letal

Iba a mover ficha Diego Martínez ante la necesidad de una reacción… que llegó justo antes del cambio. De nuevo un córner de Sandro al primer palo acabó en gol, esta vez introducido por el conejero Aridane en su propia portería. Increíble pero cierto, la UD más pragmática en modo supervivencia, sin oler el balón y siendo contundente en las áreas. Ese segundo gol fue un golpe mortal para un Rayo que, sin tiempo a recuperarse, recibió el jaque mate. Kirian la pone en profundidad para el recién incorporado Manu Fuster, quien gana en velocidad a Lejeune y desde la frontal del área bate con el exterior a Batalla. Un golazo para estrenarse como goleador en Primera y empezar a justificar la apuesta amarilla por su llegada.

A partir de ese momento, cambios a la desesperada del Rayo y la UD por fin jugando sintiéndose cómoda en el césped, no sin la ya habitual mano salvadora de Cillessen a disparo esta vez de Embarba. Más de 30 disparos realizó el Rayo y siempre dio la sensación de que se podrían jugar otros 90 minutos y seguirían sin ver puerta, de hecho, tuvo que ser McKenna en propia puerta quien lograse batir a Cillessen.
