fjfjfjkf i’m so sorry mantron is literally no one he’s a two off side joke character who i really love and i have no idea why. but if you really want to join the mantron fanclub: groot 2015 is a miniseries you should read. it’s basically rocket and groot misadventures, rocket gets kidnapped and groot has to save him. mantron helps out

he’s a robot with 1996 earth technology and relies on floppy discs. he works at an intergalactic petrol station. he helps out groot because he wants an adventure. 2 pages later he’s everyone’s best friend.

falls in love with another robot randomly, then dies in a fiery ball of death saving everyone like the hero he is.

but it’s ok because they apparently downloaded him into another floppy. so one day, mantron can make his glorious return.

all of this in…. Idk? ten pages maybe? he’s an icon that only i remember <3

Tim Burke: In the original script Newt, Tina and Leta all ride the creature out of the French Ministry, which worried me a lot as making one person ride a creature convincingly is hard, but three people sitting on a extremely articulated spine would be very difficult. There was no real description of how they escaped either, other than the Zouwu could travel great distances.

The problem of having three riders was solved by Newt keeping Tina and Leta in his suitcase when he escapes from the ministry, so we only had to film Eddie riding on our mantronic green screen buck, which was puppeteered and operated by the stunt team. For half of the shots where Newt is riding the Zouwu he is a digital double and the environment is digital at all times.

Sleeping Bag Records was founded by goody Arthur Russell and baddy Will Socolov in 1981. Its first two releases were both Arthur Russell productions Dinosaur L album 24->24 Music in 1981, and FK's remake of Go Bang, Go Bang #5 in 1982. The label expanded in 1983 when they began releasing tracks by other artists and future partner Juggy Gayles joined as a promoter. Russell and Socolov fell out over their differences and Russell walked away from the venture. These early 1980s releases really are a slice of New York's downtown scene

The ravagers are an integral part of the mcu guardians story, and a nomadic pirate family is a really cool concept, though we’ve seen bits and pieces of mcu parodies in the comics with Yondu ancestors and the like, I’d still really like to establish a group of Ravagers for the comics with all new characters seeing as they can’t all be the og guardians, my question is ol buddy ol pal, which characters from marvels cosmic do you think would make a interesting group of comic specific Ravagers.

I have a few of my own in mind like Nebula, for that drive she’s been a pirate queen before, Bug (because the idea of him two timing between them and the guardians is extremely funny to me) wraith because we need a straight man to bugs goofy guy and he’s been aimless since he avenged his parents, and I reckon Kraglin to ground the ravagers and create a through line to the mcu, I’ll have more when I think of more, that dude with golden nanite eagle comes to mind …

like you said the mcu ravagers are basically the guardians 3000. idk if i’m super interested in pushing the concept further after that 2016 legendary star-lord book was like THAT about it.just for an idea of space pirates though: your line up sounds good! and if they happen to be called ravagers, whatever.

nebula as a space pirate again is a fun idea. like you said she was a pirate for a confusing minute anyway. she’s also been pretty aimless since the mcu-ification of her character, it would be nice to see her with something to do. these days she just alternates between being mad at thanos and mad at gamora and it’s just so…. boring. i did like when she was one of gamora’s graces! she has so much potential and she’s always squandered.

bug two timing is hilarious. i was also just thinking the other day about how he literally showed up in gotg 2020 JUST to be wrong, have facts explained to him by 616 heather, and then he was like um ok bye <3. he’s so useless i actually love him lmfao. he’s TIRED of always being last name on the gotg roster. this is his anti-hero origin story

i’ll throw cammi’s name out there. i’ve been open about being unsatisfied with the way her relationship with drax tailed off, was ultimately picked up in an unsatisfying way, only to have her disappear again. i could see her fitting in. she’s a bit more grown up and even rowdier now. she can be nebula’s second in command <3

wildcard answer is a half-worlder. for real, screw it, throw one of them in there too, even if itʼs just for one job. rocket is the only guy to ever get attention, blackjack occasionally shows up to screw him over and then disappear, so it would be nice to see one of the others in the spotlight for a change. at this point i just throw the half-worlders in every single answer because they literally have nothing going for them in the last few years
