Ice @spookygingerr Kaka @stocious Evie @energievie Thank youuu!!
Name: Myn
Do you drink coffee? if so, what's your coffee order? A big fat no for me besties, it's too bitter. I'd rather a hot choc, Chai latte or tea.
What's the best thing you ate today? i takeaway from a Malaysian restaurant & it gotta be the Roti with 3 different levels of spice sauces.
Tell us about your first pet (or if you haven't had a pet yet, what's your dream pet?) I found a stray kitten near my house after school & I managed to befriend him & got to pet him. We fed him but my mum hates cats so he stayed in the backyard. My dad named him Gato which is spanish for cat. When he got older he roamed around & I think other houses also took care of him too. He never came back one day & I hope he was cared for & loved wherever his is. 🥹
if your life was a book, what would you call the current chapter? I think it would be something like Adrift: where do we go from here?
what's something you did recently that you're proud of? How I pushed myself with my art this year participating in more events like doing my first Gallavich week & collaborating with my wonderful bunk Lightning Bugs in the gallavich summer camp! Like go me & next step writing fanfic 😆
what was your first dream job growing up? Probably a General practitioner bc I really looked up to mine (she's still mine today) haha but I realised i was a bit to squeamish with bodily fluids so didn't go that path
what's the name of the latest playlist you made? Mickey's go to karaoke mix 🎶
I'm tagging these sweetie pies if they wanna play 🥰

Iseul and Megan arrived at 3pm, took a quick nap in their rooms, and then freshened up before changing into some cute hot weather oufits. Iseul grinned as Megan sat down next to her, eyeing her button down top and shorts. “What, Liao?” She asked teasingly. “Nothing you just look good Kang. Those shorts show off your long legs nicely.” Iseul blushed before grinning again. “So, you’re only interested in my body.” She joked, crossing her arms. “Duh.” Megan joked before laughing too. “I’m just kidding, baby. I love all of you. Your confidence, and humor, and the way you carry yourself, and your style, the way you floof your hair sometimes to make it look cool and extra swoopy at the front.” She added teasingly. "Okay, I only floofed it once, Megs." Iseul said, but she grinned.
While Megan chatted on the phone with her dad, Iseul brushed up on her handiness skills while sitting outside and sipping a glass of fresh sugarcane juice. She finished reading just as Megan finished her call, and they met in their room and kissed before Iseul pushed a lock of Megan’s long hair behind er ear, looking into her warm dark brown eyes as Megan blushed. “Ready to hit the night market?” She asked, and Megan nodded. "I've been ready since we got here." She said, kissing Iseul’s hand before taking it in hers. They arrived just as the vendors were setting up shop, and Megan got and scarfed down some Malaysian Satay while Iseul got a plate of Bánh Xèo and ate it slowly, savoring it. “Oh gods, this is good.” She said through a mouthful and Megan grinned. They finished their night by having halo halo, bibingka and Thai iced tea, taking the food and beverages to a nearby table to enjoy them.

Sunyi's First Noise
[Koh "Sunyi" Tay Koon & Imulok "Imp" Kanun]
Summary: A hustler finally met his match in form of a kid(?) with a spider bot.
A/N: FRIENDS OCS WOOOOOOOOO!!! MALAYSIAN OPS GUYS ITS REAL NOW (Credits to @xxtempera for lending me them oh my god IM SO HYPED)
Tay Koon Koh isn’t a righteous person. That’s a plain fact.
Sure, he doesn’t litter his trash often. He has respect for his elders like many Chinese-descent Malays would. His work technically doesn’t involve anything illegal.
But sometimes, a hustler still needs to eat, like all humans would.
His usual options for this are either buying a small portion of stir-fried noodles from the small mom-and-pop stall near his place or stealing some snacks from an unmanned convenience store a bit further away.
Unfortunately, today, he chooses the latter option.
Being a hustler means scrounging for anything that he could use to survive. Whether it’s electro and engineering books that he borrowed from local libraries, to diving inside multiple junkyards for some metal scraps and usable electronic compounds that he could salvage.
The first piece of electronics he managed to make with his current skills and knowledge was a radio. Then he dismantled it and formed it into what he called a “Portable Jammer,” which he used to assist in stealing things from shops with security cameras and slip past the store’s anti-theft detector.
It’s not illegal if he doesn’t get caught, anyway. The store is a big one, and its sales margin wouldn’t drop even if it lost an item or two every week.
Food shouldn’t be gatekeep. It’s a necessity for humans to survive. Logically, it’s morally correct to steal food from the rich if you’re low on money.
With the jammer snugged nicely under his jacket, Tay Koon begins his mission to grab some snacks for the day and to check if his beloved gadget works as intended.
His eyes carefully scan around the open aisles to check for the employees.
No person in sight for now. He takes a deep breath.
There was a TV hanging on top of the ceiling near the entrance, viewing multiple aisles from the eyes of the store’s CCTVs. A couple of the screens seem to show statics only, and he grins.
His gadget still works perfectly, as usual.
The jammer becomes somewhat of a body warmer inside the inner pocket of the jacket, but he knows that if he takes his time too long, it’ll burn his skin.
He struts casually towards the snacks aisle, eyeing rows of packaged peanuts. He’s in the mood for the roasted garlic-flavoured peanuts. It pairs well with a cold glass of sweet iced tea for casual snacking while tinkering with electronics late at night. Or should he opt for battered spicy-coated peanuts—
Click-clacks.
Click-click-click-clacks.
The sudden soft whirring noise from under him almost makes him stumble down and sprint away, but he gets himself to stand on his ground and quickly examine the situation.
A small spider robot gently taps its metal legs on the ceramic floor. Its camera lens is currently facing him.
Anxiety washes him over like a bucket of ice water. He takes a small step backward, and the spider bot follows suit.
Is this the store’s new security camera? Should he run? No, running would’ve garnered more unwanted attention, and he doesn’t plan on getting caught just for this. If he quickly throws the bot away, would he be charged with property damage? Lawyers these days are expensive, and his elders wouldn’t be able to pay for any of them.
“Bejir…why is the camera screen has full static? It shouldn’t be out of boundaries…”
Tay Koon freezes on the spot. His gaze locks onto a tuft of messy jet-black hair that pops into his view at the corner of his eyes, right behind the aisle across him. Their footsteps are slow as if they’re currently afraid of crushing something.
He stares at the head, then at the bot below him. The tiny bot that he could’ve accidentally crushed if he took one more step. It tilts its “head” camera a bit, as if it’s curious at his behaviour.
The footsteps finally come to a stop at the same time as the figure stands right in front of him, revealing themselves to be an androgynous-looking person, leaning toward a more masculine look with the mullet hairstyle. They’re wearing some kind of glove with a small screen mounted onto it. Tay Koon can hear a familiar static noise coming from it, a sign of his jammer’s work.
Is this person also testing their gadget?
He doesn’t realize how short this person is in front of him, now holding the spider-looking bot and carefully inspecting it. Hell, he doesn’t even realize how they got in front of him without noticing.
Is it his overthinking again? God, this is a bad habit of his.
“And you. What are you doing here?”
The mentioned man once again freezes in place, his dark eyes meeting the other’s own ones. Dark bags under their eyes and a flat yet uncaring expression.
“Um…” He rubs the back of his neck. “I’m looking around… just sightseeing, I guess…?”
The other raises an eyebrow, unconvinced. “Uh-huh. What about that bag of nuts that you’re holding?”
His eyes snap at the small bag of nuts in his hand. The one that he was ready to snatch and book when he got bamboozled by that small spider bot. He clicks his tongue in response.
“Well, this is the souvenir…?”
“There’s no free souvenir, dumbass. Awak kira aku bodo kah?”
Well, seems like he can’t convince this person.
He bites his lips gently in frustration, puts the peanut bag back into the aisle, and walks away from the store, pocketing both his hands inside his jacket pocket. There goes his plan of getting a snack for tonight—
CLACK-CLACK-CLACK-CLACK—
The spider bot, which was supposed to be with the mullethead, somehow found its way out and chased him down at a speed faster than him, the taps of its legs hitting the floor became somewhat of a terrifying sound. He almost screams out, scrambling backward and trying his best to avoid stepping the small bugger.
In the midst of his panic, however, Tay Koon can see the mullethead observing from afar, looking amused. Their tablet still produces the hissing noise, so how does this one still move freely ??
“Hey, get this thing away from me!!”
His panic response only got a small grin from the mullethead. “Well, try to outrun my bot!” They let out a chuckle. “I’d be more impressed if you can outsmart it, even! Its AI can recognize its target from afar by their clothes and running pattern.”
Panic noise echoes around the store, along with an amused laughter.
Tay Koon had never thought that this encounter would change the trajectory of his life for good.

Alright, this is it! The last of the Our Skyy 2 x BBS x ATOTS Afterglow Cocktail Series. I noticed some friends in the tags last week saying that they weren’t drinkers, so this is for the mocktailers, and especially for Tian, who HAS to (HAS TO) be contraindicated for drinking with his HEART TRANSPLANT MEDS, my man. And we're also celebrating his genius move with the tea leaves sachets from the original ATOTS series. Anyway, sorry for the shitty photos, I’ll explain:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I wanted to give a homemade spin to cha yen/Thai tea -- we see Pat/Pran and Heart/Li Ming drinking it in BBS and Moonlight Chicken. I used Pailin Chongchitnant's recipe (thank you to DEAR @telomeke for introducing me to Pailin's amazing recipes!) as a base. Pailin notes that real cha yen does NOT have spices -- that if spices are added, it's usually done by non-Thais as a means of adding an "exotic" spin to the tea, when it's just supposed to be tea, ice, condensed milk and evaporated milk.
But, ummmm, heh heh, I'm an Indian auntie who can't leave a recipe unadapted, so: I cold-brewed the Thai tea leaves overnight with boiled water and my own mix of spices (fennel, cloves, cardamom, cinnamon, and star anise). I also sweetened the drink with spiced syrup made with Thai coconut sugar. Finally, I'm kind of off dairy (not really, but trying to), so I used coconut condensed and evaporated milk, which doesn't mix as well into the cha yen as real dairy or non-dairy creamer -- oh well.
ANYWAY, all of this to be said, this is Tian's Contraindicated Thai Chai, made by moi, an Indian-Malaysian auntie who's got FAR too many spices in the house and can't leave recipes damn well enough alone!
AND, as a bonus to myself, who DOES drink, I have a back-up option -- a to-go cocktail of guava and champagne that a bartender gave to me for free last night while I was on a date with the hubs! SCORE, BOB.
Tumblr media
I'm gonna drink all of these while finally watching the finale of Our Dining Table, just to fuck myself up more on this crazy-ass day of dramas. SALUT, Y'ALL, this was fun! Big ups to senpai @respectthepetty for starting this trend! <3

Let me guess, wife mad at you? Until she knocks your head with pan? 😑
-Thomas Rinewell to Principal while he's having iced peach tea, causing him confuse like how did he knows
I was at your place back then. She always mad at me and my kids for some reason. It's Tupperware. But hey, I know you hate it but to be honest, that brand she love is expensive. Even you can go and find it anywhere, but that brand is really expensive. Mostly Malaysian love it. Your wife and mine are both Malaysian, right? I think it's better for you to apologise to her before it's too lat-
-Thomas Rinewell to Principal, suddenly Principal's phone is ringing
Dad! Bad news! Mom... She's... She's... 😰
-Alice to Principal on phone
SHE HASN'T COME BACK FROM 8 PM!!! And now it's already 3 AM!! 😥
-Louis to Principal, causing him shock and start to worry
I'll come with you. If you search her by yourself, no use. You need someone who can help you to look for her. So, get in my car now. Let's find her together.

Coffee and/or Tea - Julie & Bobby
Eleven!!!! We’ve officially gone past ten I’m so proud of myself ajndsf
I had Julie and Bobby drink some SEA drinks here and their reactions to the tea and coffee were based on me, a Malay who was overexcited about the drinks they had but at the same time was lowkey judgey about them
───── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ─────
Julie wasn’t one for experimenting with the drinks she drank. She was more than happy with the coffees that Alex made her every morning and, unless she had reasons to pull all-nighters or hadn’t had enough sleep the night before, she didn’t tend to have more than her Alex-made pot of coffee in a day. Most of her other housemates were similar. They liked a particular drink and they stuck with it. At most they’d taste each other’s drinks. It was better than trying something new and not hating it.
Unfortunately, she was out with Bobby right now. Bobby did not think that way. Bobby was one of the few in the household who actually enjoyed trying new things even if he ended up despising some of what he consumed and more often than not, Julie found herself getting swept up in his pace and letting him pick something new for her to try. She’d order a plain herbal tea instead of his chosen concoctions, but there was a brightness in his expressions whenever they found something she liked that let her continue indulging him.
Julie figured that that’s how she found herself in this tiny Malaysian cafe, head buried in her laptop as she worked on her assignment. Bobby was sitting beside her quietly highlighting notes from one of his social work classes. There had been a smug pride in the tilt of his lips since the moment he placed their orders and Julie wasn’t sure if she should be scared.
If they weren’t in public, Julie would have strangled him the moment their drinks came.
Bobby happily took what looked like a really dark coffee for himself, then presented Julie with a drink that was milky white at the bottom and blue at the top. Blue. Why was it blue!?
“I got you an iced butterfly pea tea latte,” Bobby announced with an excited glint in his eye that made him look adorable enough Julie changed her mind about yelling at him. Sometimes she regretted being in a band filled with the cutest people. There really was no winning with them.
“The flower is blue and that’s why the drink is blue. It’s all natural. No food colouring and it’s caffeine free and Julie! It’s magic!”
Julie narrowed her eyes at him, looking sceptically down at her drink, a part of her somehow doubting the lack of food colouring. Still, Bobby looked particularly proud of himself still and so she mixed the drink up and took a sip. Julie had to admit it wasn’t quite what she was expecting. It tasted like matcha in a way, all earthy and grassy but nowhere near as bitter. She would have liked it a lot, she thought, but it was sweet. A lot sweeter than she thought it should have been — maybe Bobby forgot to tell them to hold the sugar, he’s done that a couple times before when he got excited. She didn’t hate it but it wasn’t something that she would go for either.
“It’s not quite to my taste. I’d like it if it was a bit less sweeter I think.”
Bobby’s lips opened to a quiet ‘o’ shape and Julie just knew he was going to apologise for forgetting that she wasn’t the biggest fan of sweet drinks. Still, it happened. There was nothing wrong with tasting things how they were intended every now and then so Julie shook her head again, pushing the drink closer to Bobby, “How about you try?”
Bobby’s face was indecipherable when he drank the concoction. But he made a satisfied little hum around the straw, and by the time he gave it back there was a small upwards tilt to his lips that indicated how much he liked it. Julie wasn’t surprised, much unlike what his aesthetic would suggest, Bobby had always had a bit of a sweet tooth.
Just before Julie was about to take another sip, Bobby stopped her, waving to small pitcher that Julie hadn’t noticed before.
“What’s that?”
“For the magic,” Bobby stopped then tilting his head questioningly, “Do you mind if your drinks are sour? I don’t think I’ve ever gotten you something sour before.”
Julie scrunched her nose, not quite sure how to answer the question. She’s never actively went out of her way to try sour drinks before so she couldn’t really say. Perhaps she might mind it? It felt safer to leave the drink as is but Bobby was looking at her so expectantly she crumbled. Grumbling under her breath about peer pressure, Julie let him ‘do the magic’ and make her drink sour, pouring what he told her was lime juice into her glass and - oh.
Oh, it was purple now.
If Julie had been looking at Bobby, she would have seen the moment that the smug pride on his face turned into a full smile, practically Cheshire grin for his standards, but Julie didn’t look that way. She was too distracted by the swirls of colour in her glass, blue turning to purple where the lime juice touched.
Oh it did look like magic.
She did pull a face when she drank it after. Sour lattes weren’t quite to her taste apparently, but she didn’t mind so much this time, getting easily distracted by Bobby describing his drink – something called Kopi Cham that he looked mighty pleased about. Somehow even more pleased than when they were talking about Julie’s drink.
“Wait what do you mean it’s tea and coffee and sugar????”
Sometimes Julie thinks she should trust her boys less than she did.

A gay Malaysian
God do not have to like arrived for these gays, the hepatitis will occur and fated dig at their best salaries, and mean to eat eggs, and dot the theme again for weekend sexuality and make some wife happy, zina is wife or mother in paternity for as slaves. This is zina for muslims, zina for kafir is a happy douche and happy money for these kafir. To like a beer place, gays need a thyroid adjustment with some donuts, and or some ice teas. You can remove this gayness with a quick world tour of the God wiki and how God stops homosexuality for internet schemes, in a dot.

7月23號 Day 12: Do it... Myself???
DIY day!! YAY today was so fun. We were able to make our own stuff today, but before we talk about that we should reflect on the morning. Although I went to bed late, today I woke up early this morning at 7 for breakfast. After breakfast I went back to my room for a bit to pack before meeting up with the guys for lunch. We decided to get scallion pancakes(蔥油餅) which are soooo good. The we went to a nearby bao shop and had pork bao and I bought Malaysian cake as well—both were really good. Then I went back up to my room, finished packing, grabbed all of my stuff and headed downstairs. We checked out of the hotel in Taipei at 1pm.
Today was a very unique day. As I said before there was an air defense drill scheduled for today and if we were on the highway before 1:30pm we wouldn’t have to stop. There was a good and bad part to this. The good part was that we weren’t delayed, but the bad part is we didn’t get to experience any of the sirens that come with the warning/drill.
After a short time of traveling, we went through the longest road tunnel in Taiwan which was about 8 miles through a mountain. This tunnel shortens the travel time to yilan by almost 1.5 hours. As we were driving I thought it was cool to see the plains on the left of me and the mountains on the right. Later we made it to our first destination.
Our first stop was a clog DIY place called Baimi clog museum. Yes, clog as in the shoe. It was so fun. The first thing we did was race in a “tandem clog” for 3 people. We did a race tournament style and my team and I lost first round:(. We went so slow but it was a lot of fun. Then we went and tried on different clogs and stretched our calves as well in these special clogs. Finally we went upstairs and made our own clog keychain, but mine did not turn out so great. The white paint was difficult to use and did not look as good as the gold, but it was still ok.
Our next stop was the Kili Bay Pearl Milk Tea DIY. Here we went straight upstairs to make our own Boba Tea. It was a lot of fun. We poured the water into our own cups. Then we had to dip our tea bags into the water 80 times. Then we poured in the "milk". I thought it was interesting that the milk came in powder form. Finally we added ice and syrup, shook it up like bartenders and poured it over the boba in a separate mug. It was a cool experience.
Our last stop was at the hotel which is a Hot Springs hotel called Art Spa Hotel. So around 9pm we all decided to go out and enjoy the hot springs spa that is in the hotel. They have hot springs, cold springs, a sauna, a steam room, and a water playground. It is a very cool hotel.
Academic Reflection
Peter told us some interesting facts while we were driving to Yilan such as people would rent out airbnb's on farms and take their children there so they can experience what it was like to live in the country side. I thought this was very funny but also really good. He also told us about the tunnel we went through and how it was the longest road tunnel in Taiwan measuring about 8 miles long.
At the clog village we got to see and wear many different types of clogs. Unlike the dutch counterpart, these clogs are more like wooden, elevated flip flops rather than a hollowed out peice of wood. They were Japanese inspired, but some say it could trace back even all the way to china. No matter where they originated, this unique Taiwanese tradition of this little town on the northeast coast perfected the way they made clogs. They would make some for stretching, some for massages, and some just for walking. The Baimi clog museum is located in Taiwan's clog capital and is still serving people everywhere.
At the boba place we got to make our own boba. Bubble tea is a Taiwan classic and was invented in the 1980s by a failed hotpot entreprenuer with $133,000 dollars of debt. I think it is amazing that bubble tea, which is now popular everywhere originated in Taiwan. Really reveals how much of an impact taiwan has had on the world.

I love the mix of flavors in boba/smoothie places now. Vietnamese coffee, smoothies with mung and red bean smoothies from china, Iced Malaysian lemongrass tea, Horchatas served with boba and spicy mangonadas. The option for flavors like taro potato and jackfruit. The ability to put tajin flavor in whatever you want. I just think it's lovely.

Quenching the World's Thirst: The Phenomenal Growth of Malaysian Beverage Exports
Introduction
In recent years, Malaysia has emerged as a major player in the global beverage industry. From traditional favorites like tea and coffee to innovative and exotic concoctions, Malaysian beverages are making waves on the international stage. This surge in exports has not only enriched the country's economy but also brought a slice of Malaysian culture to the world. In this blog, we will explore the phenomenal growth of Malaysian beverage exports and what has fueled this exciting trend.
A Blend of Tradition and Innovation
Malaysia's beverage exports are a testament to the country's ability to blend tradition with innovation. The nation has a rich heritage of traditional drinks like Teh Tarik (pulled tea), which is a strong tea with condensed milk, and Kopi-O (black coffee). These timeless classics are now enjoyed by people worldwide, thanks to Malaysia's thriving beverage export industry.
But Malaysia doesn't stop at tradition. The country has embraced innovation, introducing new and exciting beverages to the global market. One notable example is the rise of bubble tea, which originated in Taiwan but quickly found a home in Malaysia. Malaysians took the concept and added their own unique twists, creating a plethora of flavors and combinations. Now, bubble tea, or "boba" as it's often called, is a global sensation, with Malaysian brands leading the way.
The Rising Global Demand
One key driver behind the growth of Malaysian beverage exports is the increasing global demand for diverse and exotic flavors. As the world becomes more interconnected, consumers are eager to explore new taste sensations. Malaysian beverages, with their intricate blend of flavors, exotic ingredients, and vibrant colors, have become highly sought-after commodities. Whether it's the fragrant spices of a teh halia (ginger tea) or the refreshing sweetness of an ais kacang (shaved ice dessert), Malaysia's beverages have an irresistible allure.
Quality and Authenticity
Malaysia has earned a reputation for producing high-quality beverages with authentic flavors. Malaysian tea and coffee are made from the finest beans, expertly roasted to perfection. Local fruit juices are squeezed fresh, capturing the essence of the tropical paradise in every sip. The dedication to quality and authenticity has been crucial in attracting discerning consumers worldwide.
Global Expansion of Malaysian Brands
In addition to the export of traditional Malaysian beverages, several homegrown brands have expanded their presence internationally. This includes companies that specialize in coffee, such as OldTown White Coffee, which boasts a chain of outlets across Asia and beyond. Another example is Chatime, one of the world's largest bubble tea franchises, which began in Taiwan but found success in Malaysia before spreading its wings globally.
These Malaysian brands have established themselves as trustworthy sources of quality beverages, making them a staple in numerous countries. Their success is a testament to the appeal of Malaysian flavors and the global appetite for diverse beverage options.
Support from the Malaysian Government
The Malaysian government has played a significant role in promoting the growth of the beverage export industry. Through various initiatives and trade agreements, they have facilitated the expansion of Malaysian beverage businesses into international markets. Additionally, the government has provided support to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the beverage sector, enabling them to compete on a global scale.
Conclusion
Malaysia's beverage industry has witnessed phenomenal growth in recent years, quenching the world's thirst for diverse and innovative flavors. The country's ability to marry tradition with innovation, the rising global demand for authentic flavors, the commitment to quality, and the expansion of Malaysian brands on the international stage have all contributed to this remarkable success story. As Malaysia continues to export its rich beverage culture to the world, we can expect to see even more exciting developments and innovations in the years to come. Chokolait: Milk Chocolate Hot Chocolate
Tumblr media
Disclaimer: not tea.
My father in law cried out his complaint. "Too sweet! Too sweet!" My husband admonished him for not only forgoing dark chocolate for milk, but for choosing to add a ball of vanilla ice cream to his drink.
I have known my father in law for six years. He is unapologetically old-school Malaysian-Chinese: I cherish his views on char kuey teow, Hokkien mooncakes and roti. I also value his opinions on Western desserts. Because once he thinks something is too sweet, with no other gripes, I know I will find it satisfyingly indulgent.
Melbourne has lost many of my favourite chocolate joints (I won't forget you, Ganache!). I'm glad Chokolait survived the pandemic.
The hot chocolate is rich (don't come after a large meal). But it is silky and punctuated by globs of molten chocolate. Every sip is a treat, and you can tell that the chocolatiers have carefully crafted the recipe. This is not a drink to be had in a rush.
The setting is pure Melbourne - tucked away in an alley next to an arcade. It's worth mentioning that there are no high chairs, so if you come with a small human, maybe time it over a nap.
