In Afghan Negotiations On Peace, Malala Yousafzai Cannot Compromise On Women's Rights
Education campaigner Malala Yousafzai from Pakistan believes that in delayed Afghan peace talks no compromise can be made on the rights of women.
In an interview with CNN, the Nobel laureate discussed the importance of female voices globally and her new digital platform assembly.
Assemble is the Pakistani education promoter’s online digital journal, aimed at enhancing women’s and girls’ tales throughout the globe.
The digital weekly provides a platform and a voice for women and girls and covers a wide variety of subjects such as recycling, social standards, structural racism, mental health, and climate change. Malala wants to hear the tales of women who overcome these challenges.
She told CNN and our readers that reading the stories of these wonderful girls was unbelievable.
“They [females and girls] not only talk about their issues but how they battle them.”
The 23-year-old was a renowned campaigner in Pakistan’s Swat area against the prohibition of Taliban girl education. Before she became famous, Malala had been a BBC Urdu blogger, the first forum to express her thoughts.
At the age of eleven, the noble laureate stated she was glad to tell her experience.
“We regularly hear girls’ tales about the difficulties they face, but the material is extremely restricted and adults often tell us. We don’t hear young girls’ voices and don’t hear from them directly and we don’t hear much about how to combat them as well.”
In the peace talks in Afghanistan, Malala stressed the prioritization and advocacy of the nations participating in the discussions for women’s safety, education rights, and political rights.
