#Mai and Ty Lee regret it? Or do they just ignore it because they didn't have a bond with Azula?

You must reciprocate.
When the three of them were little, Mai and Ty Lee marked Azula, because they thought that since they found their Alpha, they had to mark her, make her completely theirs.
Although Azula didn't do it, because the two Omegas saw that it hurt the Princess a lot (it was just stimulation) so they prolonged their own marks out of fear/rejection of the pain.
But when both Omegas left, they made Azula collapse, because she had their marks but they didn't have hers, and that's deadly for all unrequited.
And it was even more terrible for the Alpha, because she saw how Mai and Ty Lee could be with whoever they wanted, because they had no marks, while she couldn't (And even if she didn't want to, she would feel pain without them).
Then the betrayal occurred, and Azula broke completely, dying after leaving the Boiling Rock.

AU where The Gaang are villains and Ozai's Angels are the heroes.
Hello, @wingchunwaterbender !!!!
I’m sorry this one is so sad😭
1. You know how a lot of people have wondered what would happen if the Avatar turned evil or didn’t want to fight for balance? Well, this era got the answer. During the Day of Black Sun, the Gaang is fighting Fire Nation soldiers and Sokka is killed. Azula didn’t kill him but she did see it happen and they saw the Gaang go absolutely insane. Whatever she thought about Team Avatar before was destroyed in that moment as she saw the team kill every single soldier around them. Azula fled to find Mai and Ty Lee and think about what they should do but while she was doing that the Gaang marched to Ozai and Aang killed him. If the group was at all regretful for their actions, they didn't show it. They didn't show it after they killed Ozai or forced Zuko to join them or established a dictator like rule over the world. Aang becomes one of the most ruthless Avatar's in history, ignoring whatever advice his past lives try to give him. Katara leans into her bloodbender side (learning to do it without a full moon) and starts using her waterbending to torture anyone who challenges her. Toph just starts killing those that oppose her and becomes more and more brutish. Even Suki, who wasn't there when Sokka was killed, starts to become more and more violent which spread to the other Kyoshi Warriors. Within two years after the Day of Black Sun, the world is now ruled over by the group and whoever they decide can be trusted (and that's very few people).
2. While all that is going on, Azula, Mai and Ty Lee have been in hiding, trying to figure out what to do next. Fire Nationals got hit the worst by the Gaang’s take over. The Fire Nation was basically put on lockdown which caused many people to starve and any Fire Nation ship found outside of their territory was sunk immediately. Azula, Mai and Ty Lee worked to get food from the Earth Kingdom to the Fire Nation and it helped to keep a lot of people alive. Eventually, they were found out but fled before they could be captured and now they’re trying to figure out what to do next. Because the Gaang knows Azula is still out there, she has a high bounty on her head and has to conceal herself to avoid detection. One day, Azula is recognized in the Fire Nation but she’s not turned in. Instead, she, Mai and Ty Lee are recruited to join an undercover group that’s trying to fight against the Gaang. (Azula: You think you can take them on with twenty people? The Avatar will kill you all. Fighter: But you’ve killed the Avatar! You did it once! You can do it again! Azula: I killed a very different Avatar than the one you’re fighting now. If I tried that same trick, his waterbender would rip all the blood out of my body. Mai: We have to try something, Azula. This might be our only way to survive. Azula: Fine. What’s the plan?)
3. The plan is to take them out one by one. As a group, they’re too strong to subdue but as individuals they might have a chance if they’re smart about it. The first target is Suki, who remains on Kyoshi Island but her Kyoshi Warriors are spread throughout the Earth Kingdom to help keep order. Ty Lee and Mai disguise themselves as warriors and manage to get into the village without issue but Suki recognizes their hairstyles and stops them in their tracks. After some back and forth, they manage to beat her and take her prisoner. Kyoshi Island’s leader sends a messenger hawk to Aang (which no one sees). After Suki is Toph. Toph has one major disadvantage and that’s if you can attack her from above you could win. Azula uses her fire jets to do just that but Ty Lee is hit during the attack and Toph smashes her arm. The rebellion still wins but Ty Lee is out of commission. (Azula: We have to stop. Fighter: Stop!? We’re so close! Why would we stop now?! Azula: We’re not beating Katara with Ty Lee out of action. Fighter: We can handle- Azula: No! No, you cannot. Katara is the most powerful waterbender in the world. Even before she started torturing people, she was giving me a run for my money. We’re not beating her without a chi blocker. Fighter: We can handle Katara without Ty Lee. We’re overwhelm her and- Azula: And what’s your plan when Katara holds us all in place with her bloodbending and starts snapping us like twigs? Fighter: Ummm….Azula: You can’t have a plan because there’s no way to counter that. Mai: Actually…I might have an idea.)
4. Katara and Aang were hit the worst when Sokka died. Since then, they’ve become the most violent and dangerous. Aang stays in the palace to make sure Zuko is ruling correctly but Katara travels the world to “have fun” with Fire Nation soldiers that still think they have a chance. When Aang gets the messenger hawk about Suki, he sends one to Katara, who heads to the palace so they can talk about what to do. Katara wants to have another fight with the Dangerous Ladies because she views them as the last reminder of their past. Once they’re handled then they’ll be able to move on. Aang wants them handled because they’re the last bit of hope the Fire Nation has. Katara is heading towards where she thinks they are when she gets word about Suki and Toph being captured and kept in a nearby prison. Deciding to help, Katara goes there only to realize it’s a trap. Mai threatens to kill both Suki and Toph unless Katara turns herself over to them. (Katara: I should snap your neck right now. Mai: You could, but I’d still have enough to kill them. What’s the plan here, Katara? Turn yourself over or lose more teammates? Katara, narrowing her eyes: Do not talk about him! Mai: I’m not the one who used Sokka’s memory as an excuse to take over the planet. Katara: We’re making things better! Azula: Sure seems that way. Now, what’s your answer?) Aang gets a messenger hawk that night telling him Suki, Toph and Katara have all been captured.
5. The rebellion group sits and waits for Aang to come. It’s all they can do. Azula can’t help but feel like it’s the DOBS all over again as they sit and wait for someone to come attack them. She’s walking through their little campsite with Mai and Ty Lee until she comes across Katara, Toph and Suki. Suki is held in more traditional chains, Toph in a wooden cage that’s being held up and Katara is constantly surrounded by fire (keeping water away from her as well because they’re not stupid). (Katara: Awwww. Is the princess nervous? Azula: I’m not scared of your boyfriend. Katara: You should be. Aang will kill you three and then we’ll finally be rid of any reminder of the war or- Mai: Or Sokka? Toph: You don’t get to talk about him! Mai: We didn’t kill him. Suki: Be thankful we’re canines up. Ty Lee: I’m just surprised. Katara: I imagine many things surprise you. Ty Lee: Hurtful, but I’m actually surprised because Sokka never seemed….violent. Would he want this? Katara: We’re doing this to make sure he didn’t die for nothing! This world is peaceful and people are growing up happy, healthy, and safe. Azula: Safe because you murder anyone who disagrees with you. Katara: Don’t act all high and mighty, Princess. You did the exact same thing. Azula:…) Aang arrives the next morning in the Avatar State and demolishes most of the rebellion. Azula, Mai and Ty Lee hold out long enough for Ty Lee to get back to Katara. Ty Lee tries to convince Katara again that Sokka wouldn’t want this but Katara argues back, saying that he would understand, which prompts Ty Lee to grab something: Sokka’s boomerang (which the rebellion had stolen a while ago and Ty Lee decided to hold onto because she found it cool). With a final conversation, Ty Lee convinces Katara that this isn’t the way and not what Sokka would have wanted. Katara agrees to fight against Aang which gives the rebellion the final push they need to win. Aang isn’t killed but he, Katara, Toph and Suki retreat. (Mai: You think they’ll come back. Azula: I don’t know, but we know we’ll see the Avatar again.)

The comics are shit so don’t ever try to mention them to me again, also if there was somehow a “canon” story about about Aang murdering people with a Glock, you’d probably defend it with your life
I’m pretty sure Iroh just grabbed a doll from a store he burned down and then gave it to Azula because he wanted her to act like a “proper woman”, both of his gifts were wrong to give, thank god Zuko gave it back to a rightful owner, Azula was an 8 year old with fire in her blood, and it’s not like Zuko or Ursa or Iroh (who was busy trying to commit genocide) really cared all that much, people have been calling other people fat for ages, it’s only you woke snowflakes that are afraid of it, and Azula called him fat 6 years after the gift
This is Iroh’s face when Azula shows up, before she even got to her point
That is the face of utter contempt and hatred
What would you do if you were surrounded by 6 dangerous people? You don’t understand what “war” and “battle” mean
The worst things that Iroh says about Ozai to Zuko is that he isn’t very understanding and that he doesn’t tend to regret his actions. He also encouraged Zuko to keep trying to capture the Avatar, so he can go home to his abusive father, while also am saying that getting captured by Azula is a fate worse than death, and that she’s mentally insane
Iroh and The White Lotus conquering Ba Sing Se does not change anything in the finale, you can cut it out and nothing changes, Ba Sing Se could have been taken back on any other day before the comet, Iroh should have changed his plans to help with the defeating the airships which would kill everyone (or whatever Ozai’s stupid plan was) but instead he sends 3 children (only 1 of whom could bend) to do it and they almost fucking die, he wants to conquer Ba Sing Se because he it was his “Destiny since birth”, and also because he wants to relax in his tea shop instead of helping the world, and he wants to use the comet to cause more destruction, achieving his goal in a way before he “changed” and its not like the city’s suffering more than when Long Feng controlled it.
Leaving your traumatized 16 year old nephew to become the ruler of a county, while also going to another continent to rest in a tea shop in a city you tried to burn down, is the definition of abandonment, Iroh easily could have opened the tea shop in The Fire Nation
Azula is far from selfish, she cares deeply about Ozai, Zuko, Ty Lee, Mai, and Ursa, and she is a dedicated patriot who does things all in name of The Fire Nation
I think Ursa SHOULD help Azula, AFTER she rejects Fire imperialism and admits she wasn’t the best parent, I think Ursa had good intentions, but was too harsh on Azula.
That's all this is, just the completely ridiculous ramblings of someone who overidentifies with a violent bully because it feeds your own white woman Karen victim complex.
Again, this is why the Zuko fandom can't have nice things, and that I can’t ignore your incorrect opinions.
Or you could just get out of my inbox, you troglodyte. I didn't read past the first sentence, but it's funny how the comics don't exist unless you want to (badly) try to use them to make a (nonexistent) point.
Iroh's face in that screenshot is my face right now. Because bullies who show up to harass others deserve contempt. Keep proving that this is what you and your ilk deserve, because I don't have as much patience as Iroh does.

warnings: oral (male receiving), jealous Jeno, mentions of drunk sex, Jeno in those tight pants skaters wear 😭
“Watcha looking at?”
Jeno jolted, his eyes abandoning the pair of skaters practicing in the ice-rink. Just as he stopped watching, he heard a loud thud. You were laying down on your back, your partner sprinting towards your giggly figure.
“Are you alright?” He helped you up, his hand holding your waist naturally. “Stop laughing, you could’ve gotten yourself hurt.”
“I’ve fallen so many times that it doesn’t even hurt anymore, Jaems.” Jeno’s blood boiled at the name. You wouldn’t even call him by his name, while your partner had the privilege of having his very own nickname. “Let’s practice the death spiral.”
Jeno’s partner looked at him with curiosity, she’d never seen that look in his face before.
“Don’t tell me you’re planning on switching partners.” Jeno shook his head, tearing his gaze off You to finish tying his skates.
“Never, I was just studying our competition.” Right after finishing his task, he extended his hand towards his friend. “We need to practice hard, we’re only a few days away from the competition.”
You didn’t even spare him a glance as they entered the rink, too focused on finding the perfect way to hold Jaemin’s hand.
“Okay, we’ve got this.” You high fived him, getting in position to start your routine all over again. “Hey, Lee! Quit staring at us.” Apparently, you had taken notice of his gaze.
“I wasn’t!” The slight blush in his cheeks said otherwise. “Ignore them, Irene.”
As much as Jeno considered training with you in the same rink a blessing, you seemed to despise him. Maybe it was because of that time he called you untalented when he was a teen, or maybe it was because of that time he left the morning after having drunk sex with you, but who knows.
Nationals were held a couple of days later. Thankfully, you didn’t have to travel anywhere this year.
You cheerfully greeted all of the people you’d met during the past competitions, wishing them luck as Jaemin called you out to get ready.
You dressed in the beautiful black dress with small diamonds around your sleeves, Jaemin wearing a matching outfit, the tight shirt making his chest and shoulders look broader. You were both provided with a thick coat to cover you from the ice rink’s cold.
“You ready?” You went out of the dressing rooms, holding his hand tightly.
“We’re gonna do amazing.”
As you waited for another pair to finish their routine, a handsome Lee Jeno approached you.
“Ready to lose?” You scoffed, looking at him in disbelief. “What? There’s no way you’re gonna win against us.”
“May I remind you who won a golden medal last year?” Now it was his turn to scoff, both of your partners looking at the scene unfolding with curiosity.
“Wanna bet?” His face inched closer to your own, breath fanning against your slightly flushed cheeks.
“Deal. If I win, you’ll have to treat me and Jaems dinner.” That damn nickname again.
“Fine, but if I win, you’ll call me Jeno from now on.” It wasn't the deal he'd originally thought of, but the sudden mention of your partner made his blood boil with resentment.
You stared at him, squinting your eyes.
“Fine.” You finally replied as your name was being called through the speakers. “Break a leg.”
You threw your coat at him before entering the ice with Jaemin holding your hand, the crowd cheering loudly for the country's favorite pair. You skated around, warming up your legs as you waited for your music to get started. You stopped at the middle of the rink, placing your hand behind the nape of Jaemin’s neck to start your routine.
The melancholic sound of violins filled the place, your legs moving backward as you started your well-practiced routine.
Jeno watched everything from outside as Jaemin lifted you between his arms, holding your waist tightly as you looked at each other with passion, almost as if thousands of people weren't surrounding you, as if you were the only ones in the room.
Jaemin threw you in the air, your body rotating a few times before you landed in his arms again.
Your routine was filled with emotions, each movement expertly performed, the crowd bursting into cheers as the end of your song approached. You both nailed a triple axel, perfectly synchronized. Jaemin grabbed a hold of your hand, your back slowly bending as he spun your body around, forming the infamous death spiral. Adrenaline pumped through your veins as Jaemin carried you once again, arm between your thighs as he gave a final spin to end your performance. You smiled at each other, proud of your nearly excellent performance.
You skated out of the rink, grabbing a few flowers the crowd had thrown at you. Your trainers waited for you, seating in a bench where you'd receive your final score.
Jeno’s piercing gaze could easily be disguised as a normal competitor's jealousy, but deep down, he knew that wasn't it. He wanted to be the one by your side, he wanted to hold your hand just like Jaemin did. He wanted you to smile at him the way you did with your partner.
As expected, Jeno lost the bet. He was frustrated, to say the least, not only because he didn't get the highest score, but because every single reporter that interviewed the golden medal winners would ask about their relationship.
‘They’re not together.’ Jeno wanted to tell them, but he knew you could handle the situation yourself, telling the reporters you were only friends.
“Just ask her out already.” Irene sat down on a bench beside him, the silver medal hanging from her neck.
“What?”
“Jeno, everyone knows you're head over heels for her. You're not exactly discreet.”
“I really don't want to think about that now.” Irene hummed, staring at Jeno while he closed his eyes, attempting to ease his turbulent mind.
It wasn't until he heard the sound of steps coming his way that he opened them again, his orbs going wide at the sight of you.
“You did amazing today.” Well, that was unexpected.
“Are you mocking me?”
“What? No!” You were suddenly regretted trying to lift his spirits. “Your routine was amazing, Jeno.”
You called him by his name. A small laugh couldn't be helped as his face turned bright red.
“Come, I have a consolation prize for you.” You extended your hand his way, your pretty fingers making a ‘come here’ motion.
“Why are you suddenly being nice to me?” He hesitantly took your hand, letting you drag him all the way to the dressing rooms, away from the curious eyes of reporters.
You didn't answer his question, instead, locking the door behind you. He gave you a puzzled look, his thick eyebrows joining in a small frown.
“I heard you talking to Irene.” You shyly confessed, playing with the hem of your black skirt. “How old are you? 10? Why didn't you just tell me instead of acting like an ass?”
“Okay, first, I acted like an ass once, and I was twelve, what were you even expecting?” He took a step closer to you, hands almost over your waist. “And second, I thought you hated me, why would I confess to someone who clearly doesn't like me?”
“Why would you assume I hate you?”
“You don't?”
“I mean, I don't even know you that well. We've trained together for years but we've barely spoken, except for that time we slept together after drinking.” The distance between your bodies was now null, chests pressing against each other. “But I would've definitely accepted if you’d asked me out. I kinda like that bad boy vibe you give.”
A smile creeped up his lips, hands settling right above the curve of your ass.
“You said you had a consolation prize for me.” You cocked an eyebrow, noticing how the atmosphere had changed in less than a second.
“Oh, really?” Your hands teased the back of his thighs, slightly tugging at the flexible material of his pants.
“Lately I’ve been having trouble remembering that night we shared a year ago, mind helping me freshen up my memory?”
“Well maybe if you hadn’t left the morning after, you wouldn’t have to be reminded, cause it would be a daily thing.” There was a pinch of resentment in your voice as you pulled his pants down, sinking into your knees to caress his growing bulge.
“Don’t tease.” He warned, grabbing a hold of your hair and slightly pulling it back. “I was scared...” he resumed your previous conversation. “Irene and I don’t have the best chemistry, unlike you and that friend of yours, so I feared not being able to skate with her anymore, I didn’t want to lose that small spark that makes us worthy of a medal, even if it’s just silver.”
“But still, you didn’t have to leave me hungover and confused in a hotel room. That was mean.” Jeno chuckled, breath hitching as you pulled out his length from the black boxers.
“I promise to make it up to you...shit.” He groaned as you flattened your tongue against his tip, the pressure driving him insane.
“You better.” You fitted as much as you could inside your mouth, massaging the rest of it with your hands as you bobbed your head.
Jeno could feel himself growing harder inside your wet cavern, length twitching at the feeling of your tongue swirling around it.
“You’re going to be the death of me.” Slowly, his hips started moving back and forth, matching the pace of your head which was now controlled by his hand. “That’s it, I’m close.” His low grunts and moans had your core aching, clenching around nothing in an attempt to relive it. “Just a couple more hours and I’ll take you back to my apartment. I can’t wait to have that pretty cunt around me.” You whimpered, sending vibrations down his cock and causing his cum to spill inside your mouth. The salty liquid painted the back of your throat, involuntarily making you swallow it. “Come on, the reporters must be waiting for you.” With both hands below your elbows, he helped you up, pulling his pants back up before leaving the room with you following closely.
“There You are!” Jaemin spotted you, Jeno immediately running away to avoid rising any suspicions. “What were you doing in that dressing room with our enemy?” He dramatically gasped. “Am I being replaced? Hold me, I might faint.”
“Stop it, you drama queen. We were just...talking.”
“Mhm.” He grabbed your hand, lacing your fingers and shooting a glance at Jeno. His deep frown made Jaemin smile. “Oh, and y/n?” You looked at him. “Wipe that drool off your chin, darling.”

Au. Azula wins the agni Kai. Not reckless, far more calculating cunning & smarter. Shoots a powerful beam of bolt lightning, stronger, controlled, free, ( does actually in the real life speed of lightning), to both zuko & katara, zuko can't didn't manage to catch, can't redirect it. (Both died). Azula still revives both of them (she invented fire & lightning healing) then said I can, could and would for real actually kill both of you if ever you repeat this. (Also shoots lightning on iroh that he can't even redirect it as revenge, for ignoring her and calling her monster & crazy) Banished both zuko & iroh and strip off their titles and honor forever, permanently, without chance of regaining them. Along with Mai and ty lee. Also the gaang, would be killed on sight if ever seen on any parts of FN.
Hello, @lala-ann-11!!!
Although Azula is suffering from a hallucinations and a mental breakdown, she is still a child soldier. When she gets into a fight, especially an intense on, her muscle memory kicks in and keeps her afloat. Even if her mind isn't in the right place, she knows what to do. Because of this, she's able to fight against Zuko and actually stay on her feet, thinking back on previous lessons she'd done and how to best counter his attacks. Eventually, she uses lightning and aims it directly at Zuko and Katara and fires. And, since Zuko is not faster than lightning here, he gets hit and so does Katara, who tried to use her waterbending to protect herself but ends up getting electrocuted. Azula, trained in every use of her firebending, heals them. (Zuko: You won't kill us. Azula: No. Live. Live, knowing you only do because I let you.) (Yeah, I stole this from Hazbin Hotel but it just fits so well)
Appa returns a few hours later with a defeated Ozai and triumphant Gaang. When they arrive, Zuko and Katara tell them what happened and, at first they don’t believe them because (1) they don’t think they would lose to Azula and (2) they don’t believe Azula would let them live if she did win. However, Azula does arrive at the courtyard and demands that they all leave the Fire Nation and not return. The Gaang objects, arguing that since Ozai is taken down now Azula has to step down as well but Azula refuses. She has the right to the throne and she just defeated Zuko and Katara, she’s the winner in this case, but, of course, the Gaang want to fight. (Azula: Fine. Let’s fight. Sokka: You sure you want that? You’re fighting all of us without Sozin’s Comet. Azula: I don’t need Sozin’s Comet to beat you. You really think over a decade of training was just for show? *Grin*). The fight is not an easy one. Both Azula and the Gaang are tired, but she manages to defeat them and exiles all of them, saying that if they return she will kill them.
A couple days later, after Azula has gotten a lot of sleep and rest, Iroh arrives to challenge her for the throne. (Azula: Now you want to step in and be Fire Lord? What? You didn't feel like it when father was in charge? Didn't feel like actually helping? Iroh: I regret not taking the throne sooner. Maybe then I could have protected it and this nation from you. Azula: Protect the Fire Nation from me? I've done everyone for the Fire Nation and for my father! EVERYTHING! You abandoned this nation and your brother and niece the second you found a way out. Iroh: It's a shame, niece. I think you could have been a good ruler, but it appears as though Ozai has gotten to you. He has turned you into the same monster he is. Azula: Monster? Iroh: Yes. Though it pains me to say it, niece, you need to go down. Azula: I don't think I'll be the one leaving this fight defeated.) Azula is faster and more cunning than Iroh, but Iroh throws bigger punches. One of his fireballs straight at Azula would be enough to throw her to the ground and Iroh has more experience under his belt. That being said, Azula know show to maneuver around him unlike anything Iroh has seen. While Iroh is distracted, Azula moves under him and sent a blast of lightning straight at him. One Iroh can't redirect in time. He's not killed but he's out of the fight. That night, Azula makes a declaration to the nation that Zuko and Iroh are banished and stripped of their honor, giving them no way to get it back.
Ozai is pretty pleased to say the least. True, he wasn't the one who banished Zuko (this time) or got to defeat his brother, but he can always change that in the history books. (Azula has done a good job though, she can get a footnote). However, more and more time goes on and he remains in prison. The guards make no move to talk to him or let him out or anything to that affect, they just stay at their post and don't move. Ozai grows angry, demanding that the Fire Lord's orders be recognized and they'd all be killed for their treason. (Guard: We are following the Fire Lord's orders. Fire Lord Azula has ordered that you are to remain here.) Ozai is shocked and angered. He constantly makes threats to Azula and yells (as if she can hear him) that she'd be nothing without him. Finally, Azula arrives and stands in front of her father's cell. Bottom line, she tells him that she is in charge now and he is an embarrassment for losing to the Avatar during Sozin's Comet and, without his bending, he's nothing to her. (Azula: The only reason you are still alive is because mother's nagging voice is already in my head. I don't need yours as well. But, make one more threat against me and I will come down here and finish the job.).
Azula continues the war and wins it. The Fire Nation was about to win during Sozin's Comet, but since they lost it they didn't win on that day. Instead, it takes longer and the Gaang remains a thorn in Azula's side but they eventually do win a few years later. By that point, the Fire Nation is ruling over the world. The only place left is the North Pole which Azula doesn't care enough about to try and attack. (Azula: It's taken 110 years, but the Fire Nation has won this war). The Gaang continues to fight, to try and preserve whatever hope they can so that maybe the next generation can defeat the Fire Nation. Azula remains on the throne until she passes away after a long, long life.
#yeah I kind of left it on a vague note but that's because I really don't know what else to say if the fire nation won#they won#the world is in chaos and the firebenders control everything#au#azula#zuko#katara#iroh#aang#sokka#toph beifong#atla#send me an au and i'll write five headcanons for it

I apologize for how long this one gets!
A couple of details about The Boiling Rock: it doesn't change at all in the "death by heartbreak AU", but in the "Maizula endgame", the betrayal is even worse. It's kinda clear that Azula is not even aiming at Mai, she's aiming at her feet to scare her. Like canon, Azula didn't expect any conflict, so she's not in battle mode. She's angry that Mai is choosing Zuko over her.
(If I age them up and make it a situation where Mai's pregnant, Azula is just threatening her, she has aim good enough to shoot close but not close enough to hurt.
If it's a situation like that, Azula's reaction is much more feral.)
Azula doesn't know that Mai's goal is to slow her down, distract her long enough so she doesn't kill her own brother. In canon, Azula's mental breakdown starts to build up when Mai & Ty Lee betray her, in here it starts when Zuko betrays her by leaving – it comes back to platonic mates. It comes back to her doing everything she can, going out of her way and putting her own life at risk, to bring him home and keep him safe. Then he just leaves. He leaves again and now Azula is older, her connections and her reactions are stronger. The little pack, in her alpha brain, is her, Mai, Ty Lee and Zuko. A member leaving means the alpha will be hurt.
So. Azula's clearly not fine, she has her issues, of course she interprets Mai's action as breaking the pack apart even further. And when Mai says the "I love him more than I feat you" (without noticing that maybe that's the last thing she should tell Azula), Azula partially ignores her instinct to never, never harm her omega.
Still, Azula wouldn't hurt her, not really. But then there's Ty Lee right there and she can smell so, so much anger and ferocity. She can't smell the distress underneath because it's too subtle. She reacts on impulse to chi-block Azula.
It's that, taking away Azula's bending – even temporarily – that breaks the pack. That breaks Azula.
Later, post-war and healing, it's a happy ending but not perfect. Azula was betrayed and abandoned by way too many people, hurt way too many times. She can marry, mate Mai, have a kid or two – she refuses to have that litter of pups she dreamed of as a kid. But a pack? No.
Part of her doesn't even fully claim Mai, because what if she does and Mai chooses someone else over her again?
Her bond with Zuko and Ty Lee is permanently broken, she can be civil, even friendly, to them, but nothing more. She might be kind of friends with the Gaang, after being redeemed/healed, they want to include her but she rejects the bond.
Azula feels safer as a lone wolf, no pack. A mate with a half bond, a kid or two, because if she ever feel a bond break again, she knows she won't make it.
Both Mai and Ty Lee will regret for the rest of their lives. Mai thinks a lot about what she should have done differently, said differently to slow Azula down but not hurt her this much. Ty Lee thinks a lot about the way that maybe, just maybe, chi-blocking Azula wasn't the right choice.
I just made The Boiling Rock much more heartbreaking, I think.
- Ash 🔥🍌
Thanks for this, Ash!
She's angry that Mai is choosing Zuko over her.
Annoyed? No, she is sad and hurt because her Omega chooses someone who is not her.
If I age them up and make it a situation where Mai's pregnant.
Oh gods! Do you want to kill Azula?! Why do you seem to hate her, Ash! 😭
She's not only losing her entire pack and her Omega, but her cub too!
And when Mai says the "I love him more than I feat you" (without noticing that maybe that's the last thing she should tell Azula).
Obviously he shouldn't have said that! It seems like everyone hates Azula! Does Mai really love Azula? or do you just use it?
It's that, taking away Azula's bending even temporarily - that breaks the pack. That breaks Azula.
Ash, that destroys anyone, even me! And I know that one day the vipers in my house will leave me!
post-war and healing, it's a happy ending but not perfect.
No, that's not a happy ending, just for the others but not for Azula.
They basically subject Azula to living with an Omega who doesn't even love her and living with people who break her again and again.
Part of her doesn't even fully claim Mai, because what if she does and Mai chooses someone else over her again?
I literally feel a tightening in my heart, you understand, Ash? You hurt me.
He married Mai and has two children, but he will never have his mark, seems ALMOST fair to me.
I wonder what Mai's reaction was when Azula denied claiming her completely, even when she asked her to.
Her bond with Zuko and Ty Lee is permanently broken, she can be civil, even friendly, to them, but nothing more.
I understand getting along with Ty Lee, or at least having a civil relationship, but Zuko? He is literally the person who took everything from his life, and he has to live with the torture of all the traumas that were caused to him.
He's even inside his house forever and doesn't see anyone except his kids and Mai is a mercy.
She might be kind of friends with the Gaang, after being redeemed/ healed, they want to include her but she rejects the bond.
I can already imagine the reaction.
Gaang: Do you want to be part of our pack?
Azula: NO, NEVER, EVER. 🏃♀️
Mai:...
Ty Lee:...
Zuko:...
It's obvious to the Gaang that Azula is completely traumatized by the entire packs and bonds.
I hope Mai, Ty Lee and Zuko are ashamed of that.
Azula feels safer as a lone wolf, no pack. A mate with a half bond, a kid or two, because if she ever feel a bond break again, she knows she won't make it.
I won't make it if you keep this up, Ash. 😭
Both Mai and Ty Lee will regret for the rest of their lives.
I'm glad, I just hope Zuko dies slowly and painfully.
Does Zuko regret ruining his Sister's life?
I just made The Boiling Rock much more heartbreaking, I think.
You just put a rope around my neck, you'll be happy, Ash.
JUST DO IT, ASH. 😭😭
