Big Oriya Math
The Oriya Math in Puri was founded by Atibadi Jagannath Das. This monastery is associated with the worship of the Lord throughout the year. After receiving discipleship from the Oriya Bhagavata writer Atibadi Jagannath Das, the queen of Gajapati Prataparudra Deva donated his nine to the Guru's monastery. In ancient times, Gajapati's shrine was located in Balisahee. Now the goddess of worship Srinagar is the last sign of Mother Shyamakali Noor. At that time, the queen's house was near Baseli Sahi, not far from the northwest corner of the temple. The queen of the ancient Gajapati tradition is the last sign of the Oriya monastery to this day.
Jagannath's service on behalf of the monastery --- The relationship of the big Oriya monastery with the shrine is very close. The monastery has important services in the service of the Lord. The monastery has services during rath yatra and renovations. The chanting congregation of the big Oriya monastery joins the four-timers from the Alamchandi / Yajna Narsingh Peeth to the shrine in Navakalebar. During the Ansar and Maha Ansar, Thakur provides Pana and Chakta Bhog Math. 6 seras are given at the festival and 9 seras are given at the grand festival. Every year during the Ansar, the Fuluri oil monastery provides a secret policy. During the Great Depression, the Fuluri oil is supplied with an average of 10 lbs of oil, 24 types of products. Since these items are not available in Odisha, some products are available from outside Odisha. Significantly, the monastery began preparations for this full-fledged oil production 1 year ago. On the thirteenth day of the Asadha Shukla Mal, the monastery provides Mahaprasad to the saints, saints, devotees, Brahmins and Vaishnavism during the purification ceremony after the abyss of the Lord. In the past, after the arrival of firewood in the waterways, the Mahaprabhu's firewood from the riverbed to the shrine was arranged by the monastery for the BJP. Wheels and axles are used to make wheels. During the procession, Mahaprabhu Gundicha enters and exits the house while waiting in line. This is called the Auda Bawda lineup. On the day of the south turn of the chariot, the new clothes of the Lord are attached to the Adap Mandap and the sandalwood is all over. Khiri, khechedi, amalu and tadia are consumed and distributed among the devotees. This is also done by the big Oriya monastery. Lips are applied to each fence of the chariot. 3 pots of lip balm are given for three fences. On the Niladri BJP day, the Trimundi or Kanak Mundi canopy is placed on the Ratna throne. On the day of Herapanchami, the construction of the canopy in the vicinity of the monastery is favorable. On the day of Niladri, after the completion of the canopy on the Ratna throne and the completion of the evening incense policy of the Mahaprabhu in the chariot, the monks of the Bada Oriya Math go to the Shrimandir through the western gate from the Bada Oriya Math in Rajhat. There they make gemstones in sandalwood, musk, camphor, chua, and hair. On that day, a 14-foot-tall fallen banana is tied by the monastery. From the time of the Gajapati rule to the time of the fall, bannas have not been collected from the monastery to tie the knot.

TALKIE IN MAIDAN
Today, I am planning to travel way back to 1981, when we had shifted to Nagpur consequent upon my father’s transfer from Bokaro Steel City to Nagpur. I joined Junior college in August. Everyday while going to college I used to see the making of a pandal in a big ground which was about 10 minutes from my house. I was told that in Ganesh Chathurthi beautiful statute of Lord Ganapati is installed and celebration will be there for 10 days. There will be a lot of programs and they will be showing us movies also.
Finally, Ganpati Bappa had arrived in September and we were very excited that we will be enjoying the 10-day celebrations. My neighbor Shilpa was a good friend of mine. She said that in the pamphlet distributed they have given the name of 4 movies all are hit Hindi movies we will go. But the time of the show is 8.30 pm after aarti, blog. I came and floated the idea of going for the movie. My grandparents and appa refused. They said it’s too late we will not allow. I was heartbroken, then I next day I told Shilpa that I have not got permission. She said we will have to work out some plans.
Though I went to college the next day, the whole day I kept on brooding about not getting the permission. When I returned home I saw her waiting for me outside my house. She said ‘ I have an idea, today they are going to screen ‘ KATI PATANG’ we will go’. I said, I do not have permission. She said ‘ My self and my brother Amit will come with my mother, you also convince your mother and you and Bhavani come with her.’ Girhe Aunty, Shilpa’s mother came to my house and told my amma that it will be nice. Many mothers come with their children.
Wah! What a great idea, I thought. Told amma, she said “ How can I come? It will be too late, I have to cook in the morning for appa, Bhavani has school at 7 a.m., I have to make Dabba for her.” I became sad, told Bhavani, my younger sister that amma is not agreeing for the movie. Bhavani told amma that she is ok with Biscuit in tiffin. We convinced amma. Dinner was served at 7.30 pm., an hour before time to my grandparents and appa, we assisted amma with great enthusiasm so we leave for the movie at 8 pm.
It was an open maidan ( ground ), we had to carry mat. We carried mat and reached by 8.15 so that we get a comfortable place to sit on the ground. I had taken a bottle of water, amma took biscuits, chips, since we had our dinner at 7 pm, itself, she anticipated that we would be hungry. She was also carrying umbrella since it was September and usually during Ganesh Chaturthi there is rain. So amma, myself, Bhavani, Shilpa, Amit and Girhe Aunty, we were there. We were happy to meet many of our friends with their mothers while reaching the ground. When we reached the ground lot of crowd was already there. We were asked to sit on both sides and leave space for the projector.
Then our wait began. We got up many times to see whether the projector had arrived. Finally, at 9.15 p.m. the projector arrived. The movie did not start, We were told that ‘ KATI PATANG’ was screened in Bajaj Nagar which is 2.5 km from Laxmi Nagar ( place of our stay)and we will be getting the film reel once the screening is over at Bajaj Nagar .
Finally, the film reel arrived at 10 p.m. By that time our one round of snacks was over. But our excitement was still there. The movie was shown on a white wall. We watched the movie. Though it was a 10-year-old movie it was nice, it had lovely songs.
Suddenly the film reel got over. There was light again. People started waving their hands, the shadows were seen. We were waiting for 15 minutes for the arrival of another reel. People started hooting, one of the volunteers of Ganesh Chaturthi pandal went on his bike to bring the reel from Bajaj Nagar. The leftover ‘ Sheera’ after mahaprasad was distributed to all those watching movies. Finally, the reel arrived, the movie started again.
By the time the movie got over, it was 1.30 a.m., but we were neither tired, nor sleepy. We came home happy, we really enjoyed watching the movie on the ground. Bhavani got up and went to school on time. I went to college on time.
With this adventure, a new group was formed, we all used to go with our mother’s and enjoy all the movies screened in Ganesh Chaturthi. We used to take lot of eateries with us.
Though, the technology has become very advanced now, watching movie in old style is still remembered and brings smile on the face.

Hanuman Jayanti 2018: The birth of Sankat Mochan and Celebrations in India
Hanuman Jayanti , the birthday of Lord Hanuman will be celebrated all over the India on 31st March 2018. Every year this festival is celebrated on the 15 day of shukla paksha that is chaitra month of March or April, the full moon day according to Hindu calendar.
It is rightly said Lord Hanuman is still present in this kal yug (machine age) to protect us from all negative and evil powers in the nature. Even worshipping Hanuman eradicates evil impacts of Shani Sadesati in natives Horoscope.
Celebration of Hanuman Jayanti begins early in the morning with rich favor among Indians as throughout the day by chanting Hanuman Chalisa, Sankat Mochan Hanuman Aashtak, Bajran Bann, Hanuman Aarti and even Ramayana.
Boondi sweets are distributed as Mahaprasad and food is also served to needy and poor people to mark this auspicious day.
All the Hanuman temples in India will be decorated with flowers, saffron flags and Lord Hanuman will be worshipped with great devotions. Devotees plan mahapuja followed by Rudra Abhishek of Lord Hanuman.
The significance of applying red vermillion with jasmine oil to Lord Hanuman idol followed by ladoos, coconut, fruits, and lamps makes this day more auspicious.
Lord Hanuman is considered as param bhakt also known as very rich devotee of Lord Rama and Mother Sita. No doubt whenever Lord Ram is chanted, Hanuman is present there itself as Lord Hanuman is considered as symbol of power and strength in Hindu Mythology.
Famous Hanuman temples which devotees can visit to mark the Hanuman Jayanti celebrations in India are Hanumangadhi Temple in Ayodhya ,Balaji Hanuman temple and Salasar Temple in Rajasthan.
