An imposing colonial-era fortress looms over this park with many mature palm trees. Kota Park is one of the tourist spot of Madridejos. It is located in Poblacion, Madridejos, Cebu which is in the tip most part of Bantayan Island. Kota Park is a 45-60 minute ride from Santa Fe, an isolated area on the northern tip of Bantayan Island. A beautiful sunset awaits the patient. Zero to do in this area other than sit and relax. If your lucky, you will be entertained by some minors getting drunk singing awful karaoke at the nearby beach bar. You can refresh your mind and have a break in Myn Tea Haus and Tomgu. Or you can sit and sing in the karaoke booth. You will be surely amaze by the view of the Kota Park and will like the people there. It will be a great experience if you see the most beautiful sunset.

Undeniably, Bantayan Island is a place where you can find the fine, pristine white sand beach and stroll around other beautiful attractions just within the vicinity. Tucked away from urban centers, Bantayan Island lies off the coast of Northern Cebu. What used to be a sleepy fishing village years ago has been enjoying the fruits of tourism as tourist look for laid back alternatives to Boracay. One place you must visit in Bantayan Island is the Kota Park in Madridejos. The park features an old fort that was constructed in the 1790s, a bridge, a beach area, and a pier with observation platform. There is no entry fee to Kota Park. It’s free for all visitors. The scenery changes significantly from low tide to high tide at Kota Park. It’s worth making a point to be there on both occasions. At high tide, the water is crystal clear and inviting for a swim. At low tide, the rock formations are exposed. You can take a walk and capture some unique photos. It is one of the favorites among backpackers for it's sheer beauty and serene atmosphere. Aside from the ruins of the old fort which brings a feeling of nostalgia in the place, old relics and artifacts are displayed in its four pillars. Another highlight in the place is the Bontay Baywalk, a 187-meter footbridge connecting the shores of the island to a lighthouse (parola) or “watch-balcony.” The boardwalk is famous for getting an awe inspiring sight of the sunset. Inside the park, you can find places to eat delicious food with an affordable price, if you want to refresh there's a milktea shop inside named MYNTea, if you want to sing your heart out while enjoying foods, there's a food and drink bar named TOMGU and Blue Lobster. Anything you want, you can find it in Kota Park. So why not leave footprints here? If you want to chase sunsets and reconnect with nature while discovering a historical place, Madridejos Kota Park is a place to be.

Madridejos Kota Park is an old Spanish Fort that was transformed into a park in Barangay Lawis, Madridejos here in Bantayan Island. Kota or Kuta means fort. Lawis which means peninsula, was the original name of Madridejos. The fort in the northernmost edge of Bantayan was originally built in 1790 by the Spaniards to serve as a camp and a watch tower to protect the place and its people from pirates, who raids children for slavery. The fort was turned into a cemetery up until the 1950’s which gives it a haunting ambiance especially at night. A walk through the bridge allows tourists to see different underwater creatures including jellyfishes and different colored fishes. For adventurists, one can take a dip into the strong waters, which has become a common swimming ground for native children. According to legends, the baywalk was constructed by the people amidst a whipping current.
Sakura beach is located in San Agustin which is a part of the Municipality of Madridejos. Sakura Beach was called by its name because it was once a beach long time ago, and there are many big trees that blooms a flower that looks like a sakura or shall we say a cherry blossoms, that's why it is called Sakura Beach. But the big trees flower only blooms between the month of April and June. Many tourists visited the beach back then, but since the beach existed fishermen in the area's livelihood was affected, so they came up to a decision that they will close the so called sakura beach in order for the fishermen in the area to freely catch fish as well as for them to continue their livelihood.

But the idea of chilling at these beaches doesn't ends the exploration in this island, you can go and check out the amazing spots in here take some instagramable shots while being amazed by the scenery and everything that satisfies you to get enough vacation in Bantayan Island and make it worth memorable.
Here are some places that are considered as
the most showcased tourist spots in Bantayan Island for sure you guys will be excited to see these places in personal soon if you guys are planning to add these in your bucket lists.
First stop, here in Colina Isla de Bantayan. Colina is from a spanish word meaning "hill" and if we're talking about hills and elevated places, you already know what will be the outcome of the scenery above there. It is one of the chilling spot in Bantayan Island because of the scenic view and it is where you can embrace the love of the nature. There are also some vintage style decorations in here that are worth instagramable to capture. So if you love staying at the higher places and feel the breeze above here, well then Colina Isla de Bantayan is the perfect place for you to chill out.
Next, the Kota Park in the Municipality of Madridejos. Kota Park in Madridejos is a destination that you shouldn’t miss when you are in the island of the “living paradise". It is just a simple park yet marks the history and the humble beginnings of native Bantayanons. Kota Park was built sometime in 1880’s. It was a Spanish fort that serves as watch tower of the natives in protecting themselves from the Moro Pirates during the Spanish era. Currently, it is one of the common visited tourist spots in Madridejos because of it's historical features and of course this is where you can see the perfect sunset while staying at the bridge or even at the seashore. Want to catch up and capture some perfect shots of the sun kissing the sea? Then let's go at the Kota Park and create memories out there!
Lastly, the Church and Plaza in the Municipality of Bantayan. Plaza in Bantayan proper is a perfect place for recreational activities and bonding area. The most exciting part to see is the ceiling painting of Saints Peter and Paul Parish. This painting is called "Dibuho sa Kisame". The parish church’s bare ceiling was transformed into a visual Biblical spectacle and illustrates in great detail the Creation, Fall of Man, and Redemption, along with images of various patron saints. It also weaves the story of how the parish and a group of talented artists came together to undertake a momentous project.
So what are you waiting for? Just go and list these places in your bucket list, make a plan, set a date, pack up your things, and roll up your sleeves because Bantayan Island is waiting for you to discover not just these places but also for you to create great experiences as you explore!

Bantayan Island composed of three municipalities, specifically Bantayan, Madridejos and Santa Fe. This island is perfect destination, the natural setting of the place will surely entice tourist. It has a lot of beautiful places. Like Sacred heart of Jesus located in Santa Fe and also the Budyong Beach, The Quarry located at Bantayan, and lastly the kota park located in Madridejos
My first destination is Sacred Heart of Jesus located in Baranggay kangkong, Santa Fe. It is one of the largest church in Bantayan Island. It doesn't have any historical features, because it is newly built chruch in Santa Fe.
Next stop, Budyong Beach resort it is located in Santa Fe.
Budyong Beach Resort is an affordable resort in Bantayan Island. It’s one of the choices when you want a beach resort with powdery white sand. They have beachfront cottages for rent where you can eat in front of your room with a nice view.
Swimming in front of our cottage is also great. Whether it's high tide or low tide, the water is clean and cool.
After several minutes of riding motorcyle I arrive at municipality of Bantayan. We stop in Bantayan plaza and to relaxe there before we travel again.
My second destination, is Quarry located at municipality of Bantayan
Gorgeous and enormous rock formations, a giant cross, and a vast epic view, makes every travelers feet go itching. The Quarry has now become one of Bantayan Island’s pride and most Instagrammable places in Cebu.
In my last destination, Kota park. Found in Municipality of Madridejos.
Madridejos Kota Park is an old Spanish Fort that was transformed into a park in Barangay Lawis, Madridejos in Bantayan Island. Kota or Kuta means fort. Lawis which means peninsula, was the original name of Madridejos. Kota Park was my spiritual hangout in my childhood. It is a tourist spot in the town of Madridejos. As I did often, took a couple of minutes walk from my house to the calm waters.
Being there brings you into another state, in which you want to introspect, be calm, and be positive.
It seems that Kota Park is one of those places that no matter how bad you feel, you will leave feeling soothed and renewed. It is like therapy just to walk around, feel the ionic breeze of the air, smell the seaweed and moisture, hear the variety of birds singing, listen to the crashing of moderate waves, witness the sailboats and other boats on the water, and feel the sand on the soles of your feet, melding into each other with each step. It is a whole therapeutic package.
