#Madison and Makayla are crazy but kara is more

The only thing Kara got out of that conversation is that her sisters are crazy enough to test their own blood

I’ve been trying for years now to figure out ways to differentiate Madison and Makayla, especially since I want them to kind of split and become more different over time in my fic, so after studying their dialogue I think I’ve figured out where I can pull them too, with at least some basis in canon

Madison seems to be the ones who wants to one-up her sister and be right all the time (her second line is even “And you were so right. But I was right first.”) including telling Makayla that aliens don’t exist but comets actually do (bold to claim aliens don’t exist, I mean aren’t you a scientist? be open to it!). Makayla does undercut her once, when Madison says the lair took “a couple of hours” and Makayla says “115 minutes to be exact” so I mean, they both do it, but Madison has more instances

Makayla seems to have more of an interest in fashion/appearance? she tells Kara to hold onto her earrings, she says the costume should be sparkly, she adds the lipgloss to the power ring, she made them late to the birthday party trying to choose lipgloss to match her mask. also she’s the one wearing open-toed shoes which seems crazy to me bc of lab safety (altho I typically think of chemical stuff for lab safety, I looked up some engineering lab guidelines and they say the same things)

I know it’s thin but I do try to take from canon where I can so I think these are at least good enough that I can start trying to develop them in different ways in earnest bc I’ve kinda been putting it off until I could decide their directions

Thinking about more things about the Princess Power rewrite

I think I already mentioned that Makayla and Madison should be Kara's younger sisters (and that way it makes sense that their parents don't think of them as bad friends, sorry, they're her sisters bad influence ✋)

Also thinking that the reason they are so protective of Kara is because her birth was complicated, a high risk pregnancy + premature birth + her first five years being sick and Bam! That is the formula why they are afraid that something will happen to her, even though her health is already much better and she is in fact healthier than other teenagers. They didn't have the same problems with their other daughters so they don't feel as afraid as they do with Kara.

Also, thinking about a recurring joke that Kara always wears her hair up because honestly with her sisters it's better to have it tied up for anything, but whenever someone besides the three of them is about to see her the ribbon in her hair breaks and she's just left. with messy hair. I imagine this has been happening for years and even the twins are creating a league to hold on because honestly it's just like a scientific question at that point. They are very grateful that this will always happen because now it is easier for no one to recognize Kara as a hero.

On other hand, we have the relationship with their sisters, they just have to know that the twins are crazy and that because of one of them saying 'science does not follow ethics' at the age of 10, absolutely everyone received personal ethics classes (It was Madison)

Oh Also! Kara would be 16 years old while the twins are 14 . Gabby and Zooey are 10 (Non-twin sisters)

The oldest three always spoil the two youngest, they are their baby sisters (and the twins are always happy to build them weird mechanical toys.
