I’m gonna be completely real with you. For the past couple of weeks I have been neck deep in the Ice Planet Barbarians series with no end in sight
#i don’t know what ms ruby dixon put in these books but it’s like crack to me#i think it’s the balance of predictability vs there being a journey#like i know these two are going to get together and be fated mates but i don’t know when or how it’s going to happen#and she keeps switching up the formula just enough that i’m not sure what exactly the vibe is going to be each time#i’m on maddie’s book and it might be my favourite so far just because of how dramatic the earthquake was#and i liked that SOMEONE finally asked if any of the men were getting it on with each other because i mean……#there’s two dozen hunters who thought they were NEVER going to get a mate and you’re telling me NONE of them fucked. suspicious#i also really liked when hassen was saying about how maddie throws stuff at people when she’s mad and then he says ‘now that is a woman’#like honestly. yeah. too many of these men have been like ‘oh i love my small delicate human mate :)’ and hassen is like#‘this fat bitch who screams at people? i want her. she’s mine’ because bro honestly that would be me#i’d either be ms ariana screaming and crying at any stimuli; maddie throwing stuff at people; or maybe a combo of the two#which i think is probably liz#what else do i have to say about this… i mean honestly i am a vektal apologist. the man needs a raise. he is dealing with TOO MUCH bullshit#and from too many people. whenever some guy pipes up like ‘my mate is pregnant i can’t do that’ i’d be like ‘man EVERYBODY is pregnant#read the fucking room’#i’m not saying i like vektal i’m just saying i understand him and i feel bad for him and i’m impressed that he hasn’t started killing#that’s about it. uh. i’m going to finish this one and then read the spinoffs before i proceed#personal#**not the spinoffs. the novellas. the babies etc

My computer died on me, but I could recover these files (sadly, I lost a couple of comic sequences based on the book).
Maddie and Hassen are one of my fave couples (would be Josie and Haeden/ Rokan and Lilah and then Maddie and Hassen/N'deck and Devi).
Headcanon:
I've always pictured Hassen always wagging his tail when he's excited. Also, he wears bone piercings on his ears. If Haeden can shave half his head, Hassen can have piercings. oh yes.
Full pictures without censorship can be found on Twitter (plus two full nsfw pics). Remember all drawings are posted first on Patreon (at a higher res).
Next couple (as requested by my BBF, will be Aheako and Kira).
Please do not repost my work.

the Ice Planet Barbarian series has been the equivalent of saturday morning cartoons for adults, and they are exactly what they need to be: the sa-khui men are perfect in every way.
i wanted to list my favorite to least favorite, but i've genuinely enjoyed each book. i'll continue to update this list as i work my way through the series.
Barbarian's Taming (Hassen x Maddie)
*for me, this book had the best couple and smut
2. Barbarian's Redemption (Elly x Bek)
Elly is my favorite fmc, and i loved the whole concept of her and Bek starting over together and helping each other be better.
3. Barbarian Alien (Raahosh x Liz)
*i feel like these two deserved to drive each other insane
4. Barbarian Mine (Rukh x Harlow)
*i loved how protective and conflicted Rukh was
5. Barbarian's Tease (Taushen x Brooke)
*i liked how jealous and funny Taushen was
6. Barbarian's Lady (Harrec x Kate)
*this one is all the fun and silliness i love about the books. Harrec's whole plot to get Kate alone backfiring? and he's just so unserious, even when he's about to be crushed by rocks.
7. Ice Planet Barbarians (Vektal x Georgie)
*i love Sheorgie and Vektal so much
8. Barbarian's Mate (Haeden x Josie)
*i was mad at Josie for wanting to get her khui removed, but adored how in love with her Haeden was
9. Barbarian Lover (Aehako x Kira)
*it was so endearing how determined Aehako was to cheer up Kira
10. Barbarian's Heart (Pashov x Stacy)
*i liked how the plot was developed through their story, and how jealous Pashov would get
11. Barbarian's Touch (Rokan x Lila)
*Rokan was so sweet, and it was adorable how the whole tribe learned sign language and were excited to meet Lila
12. Barbarian's Prize (Salukh x Tiffany)
*i did not like how Tiffany wouldn't stand up for Salukh, but bc Salukh and all sa-khui men are perfect, this book won me over bc Salukh was so patient and amazing
13. Barbarian's Beloved (Zolaya x Ariana)
14. Barbarian's Seduction (Zennek x Marlene)
*i loved how sweet Marlene was
15. Barbarian's Treasure (Cashol x Megan)
16. Barbarian's Hope (Hemalo x Asha)
*i don't enjoy the alien pairings as much, but i like Asha and her friendship with Claire. it was the highlight of this book for me
17. Barbarian's Choice (Mardok x Farli)
*idk Mardok wasn't it for me. he took too long to decide not to tear Farli away from her family...he just wasn't as perfect as the men in the tribe. Vektal would never
18. Barbarian's Bride (Dagesh x Nora)
19. Barbarian's Rescue (Warrek x Summer)
*the best thing that happened was the interactions with other characters, and the sa-khui finding the she-spot.
😭😭😭😭 I FINISHED THE OG SERIES 😭😭😭😭
i'm going to go read Ice Home.

hey boo 👻
i LOVE ice planet barbarians ❄️🩵🧊 they’re some of my favorite books to read when i’m in a slump (or in need of something wholesome and steamy)
i love most of the couples, but especially:
harlow and rukh (could not explain why - i know ice planet tarzan isn’t for everyone)
haeden and josie (just recently reread by listening to the audiobook and 🫠🫠🫠)
maddie and hassen
okay who am i kidding i really enjoy all of the couples 🤭🤭🤭🤭
who are your favorites?
xoxoxox 🤭🎁🧑‍🎄
TRULY we were meant to be friends!!
Harlow and Rukh are BY FAR my favorite story. I do love all the couples, but they reign supreme. Something about the way they were totally insulated the whole first year of their relationship, and even when they couldn't talk they could communicate. I also loved the IPB take on the oceanside. Literally such a cool book and so set apart from the others. I also loved Josie and Haeden and Kira and Aehako a lot. And I SOBBED my way through the second half of Asha and Hemalo's book like a big baby hahaha.
Santa, I hope you realize you are now stuck being my friend forever, lol
What other books are you loving lately??
Xoxo ♥️💚♥️💚

ICE PLANET RECAP: maddie and her sister lila were kidnapped by an alien human trafficking ring and kept in stasis pods for over a year, completely unaware that the other kidnapped women revolted, killed their captors, and crashed the ship on a hostile ice planet. they were finally discovered and awoken from their sleep by a group of humans and sa-khui (a tribe of aliens living on the ice planet). however one of the sa-khui men, hassen, kidnapped lila 😱 to try to force her to resonate with him (note: resonance is when the symbiotic worm inside their bodies that acclimates them to the ice planet picks a mate and sends the host into heat until they successfully breed)! maddie is very upset at this turn of events and throws things at peoples heads until her sister returns, unharmed and mated to a different sa-khui man than the one who kidnapped her. lila is very happy with her new mate and maddie now feels insecure because her sister no longer needs her and she decides to hook up with hassen (the man who kidnapped her sister) just to have something to do. but hassen wants a relationship while maddie is just looking to have a little fun. hassen has also been exiled for kidnapping lila. but oh no! a volcano has erupted and the subsequent earthquake has caused a cave-in of the main tribal cave and now theyve lost everything! and the brutal season is coming! will maddie and hassen be able to navigate their tumultuous relationship? how will lila feel about her sister getting dicked down by the man who kidnapped her to force her into marriage? will the tribe survive the upcoming brutal season with no home and no supplies? find out now! during my liveblog of the second half of ice planet barbarians book 9: barbarians taming!

Maddie & Hassen: Not gonna lie, one of my favorite couples so far. Maybe it’s the soft spot I have for Hassen and his big heart that makes him an a-hole. Maybe I like red flags. But Maddie standing up for him and being on his level made me love her too. Better than Lila’s story (iykyk).
Claire & Evren: I really liked the cute holiday aspect but the love story with Claire and her boo seemed really quick and not a satisfying final moment. I guess they can’t all be epic lovestorys. It is really crazy to read how much of an ass Bek was though. Poor Claire.
Stacy & Pashov: Let me just say it was weird to read this book that follows an almost fatal head injury for Pashov and have Stacy be the one upset that he can’t remember her. She has to fall in love with the new him rather than making the story about learning to rewin his affections. It relied entirely too much on his willingness to make her unconditionally happy. Ruined the storyline for me.

My Couple Rankings (so far) from Ruby Dixon books
So I've read all the Risdaverse books and about half of the original Ice Planet Books (except for some of the short stories) I'm up to Farli's book- though I don't know if I'll read that because it feels weird thinking of Farli having sex (when we started she was 13-14 and a kid) These rankings might change. These opinions will be somewhat unpopular as well...
Here are my bottom four then I'll do my top ten: (1 is the worse couple- 4 is the best of the bottom)
1) Georgie and Vektal- The more I read about this couple the more I dislike them. They are the first couple you meet, but, to me, they are the most annoying. Vektal is supposed to be a leader- but all his decisions are horrible and I will never quite forgive him for thinking since Raahosh was banished, Liz should jump on another tribe member like it's no big deal- when he KNOWS that being a mate means a lot. Yes Georgie talked him out of it, but the fact he thought it was a good idea to begin with... just mind blowing. Georgie just irks me. Could be because of the audiobook reader insisting on giving her a country accent- which she's from ORLANDO Florida- the girl would not have a country accent! Liz would, not Georgie.
2) Kira and Aehako- They were cute, until they got boring. Aehako and Kira could have been good, but towards the middle part of the book, I was just ready for them to mate and go away. Aehako acting like a dick about Harlow didn't help and I still don't understand why Vektal made him the leader of the second set of caves. Kira had very little personality but I did feel for her at first- her interactions with the kidnappers was well done, but yeah- not my favorite couple at all.
3) Lila and Rokan- Another couple that had potential, but Lila was so boring at the beginning that I instantly wanted the book to end. I think the kidnapping plot was not the best way to go and frankly I was tired of Lila pretty quickly. I think a better story would have been for Maddie (Lila's sister) to be kidnapped instead. This girl annoyed me so much, I didn't finish this book because I didn't care about her getting rescued. Such a waste. The only reason they aren't the bottom couple is because they didn't make me hate them, I just didn't care. I was invested in Kira and Georgie so their stories were frustrating and disappointing.
4) Lucy and Rektar- (When She's Bold- Risdaverse) This couple just didn't move the needle for me. It wasn't bad. It was cute and Lucy was bubbly. The story itself is short and that might have had something to do with it. My favorites from this series are the longer ones. But yeah- cute, but not one that I remember in great detail.
Here are my Top Ten:
10) Asha and Hemalo- This couple took me by surprise. I really didn't think I would enjoy them as much as I did, but honestly- their story was heartbreaking. Asha's deep sadness and Hemalo's unwavering love was so sweet to read. If anything it made me not like Aekaho and Kira even more because of how they treated her in their book- yes I understand it was their book and she was trying to creep on Aekaho- but still seeing what she was going through and knowing that she was just needing comfort- well I get that. I was so pleased by the end of Asha and Hemalo's book. I'm happy for how it all turned out.
9) Nicola and Emvor- (The Alien's Mail-Order Bride- linked to Risdaverse) This is the story of my trope I think. From here on out most of the couples will have similar themes. Emvor is broken from war and scarred and a loner, Nicola is a human that needs to find someone to protect her and she lies about how she looks to get a male order husband. It's cute and sweet and I loved how protective he got right away. This one is a short story, but it made me smile.
8) Maddie and Hassen- Everything wrong with Lila and Rokan is made right with this book for me. I loved Hassen (and really didn't hate him from his kidnapping of Lila- I got where he was coming from and even though it was wrong, I felt his desire for a family) Maddie is sassy and can be cruel, but under all that beat the heart of a woman that wants to be needed. She spent her whole life caring for her (undeserving) sister and suddenly she's thrust into a world where she isn't needed any longer. She also has a lot of insecurities that a lot of females feel. Hassen and her are hot together, and real as well. They go into their union without expectations (or Maddie does anyway- one taste of Maddie and Hassen is hooked). It felt like together they made each other whole and I loved that.
7) Claire and Ereven- They haven't been featured by themselves yet (or maybe never now) but I like them. Claire is sweet and her first "relationship" with Bek was not great, but when she started flirting and falling for Ereven- it was so sweet. I love how kind and gentle he is with her and how he encourages her. Her friendship with Asha was made possible because Ereven knew how special Claire was and how she could reach Asha by being herself. Such a sweet couple.
6) Harlow and Rukh- This book was a bit of a mix between Georgie/Vektal and Liz/Raahosh because he kidnapped her (Raahosh) and they couldn't communicate (Georgie/Vektal) but it was made sweeter because of Rukh's almost childlike nature. He had been on his own for so long and once he found Harlow- he couldn't understand what was happening. I loved how she taught him how to speak and he took such good care of her. This couple was both innocent and hot and I love their little baby Rukhar
5) Sophie and Jerrok- (When She Belongs) Grumpy loner and traumatized human meet and bicker. The slow burn of this duo made it so worthwhile when they finally got together. Jerrok had so many issues with how he looked and his own trauma, but at the core of him was a man that had just been through so much and just wanted to be left alone. Sophie was the same. She was a slave and still had a lot of anger and fear to work through. Together they found a home and hope... with the help of a very protective spider/cat pet named Sleipnir.
4-a) Stacy and Pashov- I don't have much to say about them, other than I just melted reading their book. I felt so bad for Stacy as she struggled with having a mate that didn't remember her or their baby and poor Pashov just wanted to love her. Their story was really a sweet tale of rediscovering love. And Pacy being a part of it was just adorable.
4-b) Josie and Haeden- Grumpy and bubbly strikes again. I can't help that I have a type. This couple were hilarious and awkward and adorable. Poor Haeden had a long journey to get his mate, but once he got her- pure cuteness and heat. I have reread their story at least three times and smile and giggle and sigh each time. I loved their "bedtime" story short with their son as well.
3) Tessa and Zokoar- (When She Dances) So much goodness with this story- both were introduced (sort of) in Sophie and Jerrok's story. You see Tessa and meet Zokoar and I was intrigued right away. Zokoar is another broken male, both physically and emotionally. He thinks himself hideous and that no one could ever want him because he is scarred up and has metal plating. Tessa does want him though. She thinks about him while stuck as a slave and hopes one day he will rescue her. When it happens that's when the real story starts. While this story isn't a "slow burn" (they have sex right away) it's still a beautiful story. Zokoar finds peace with Tessa and Tessa finds love with him.
2) Kim and Nassakth- (When She Purrs) Full disclosure... this was the first book I read. Nassakth is also the only non-Mesakkah/Sa-Khui alien. He is a cat-like creature called Praxiian and can be ferocious. In the other books the Praxiian are not seen as heroic characters and are often placed in the role of villain- but Nassakth is protective and loving- especially to Kim. The premise of this story is straight up romcom. Kim hires a bounty hunter to get her a husband to protect her from her neighbor who she's convinced is going to kill her, her neighbor is Nassakth who is really trying to court her in this most feline of ways. The bounty hunter wraps her up a husband and to her shock it's the very male she was trying to avoid. Their love story is a slow burn but its sweet as well. Nassakth understands Kim's trauma about being a freshly freed slave, having been one himself and he gives her confidence to take control of her life again. I just love them!
Liz and Raahosh- Hands down my favorite couple! From start to finish I adored this book. Liz is quite possibly the best character in the series. Her observations and thoughts were down right hilarious, especially when she was talking to Raahosh when she didn't know he could understand her. Raahosh is the most patient of males when it comes to her. I could not help but adore them together. Raahosh's back story was so heartbreaking and once again, I fell for his silent/grumpy nature. I enjoyed how strong and smart Liz was. She wasn't some shrinking damsel. She taught Raahosh how to use a bow and when he was injured she nursed him back to health. They were just so great together and each time they show up in another story it fills me with glee. This story was the start of my dislike for Vektal and Georgie (it has since grown). I loved Liz outsmarting them to get back with her mate.

Maddie and Hassen ♡
"What did you see in me?”
“You just…looked like you needed a friend. And I did, too.” She puts her hands over mine. “No, it’s more than that. I needed to connect to someone. I felt alone, and lonely, and I felt like…well, that you would understand. That you would know how it felt to be surrounded by people and still feel adrift."

Okay so I just read the Ice Planet Barbarian series and it’s time I list my favorite pairings from the whole series.
While I LOVED every single freaking couple Here’s my top 5
1.) Maddie/Hassen. You guys may disagree but bro when I read their book, this was the ship for me. Maddie is such a funny girl (and she’s a big girl too so I extra loved that) and throughout the book I loved her strong fuck you all energy. And Hassen is just the perfect dude to set her up with. I freakin loved their dynamic to the MOON. You guys may be wondering about Liz/Rahoosh and while yes I loved it I couldn’t relate to Liz personally enough. Maddie? Oh yeah lmao thas my girl right here. A fierce female as he says. He right too.
2) Farli/Mardok. Some people snore on this couple but I LOVED their book. Because of all the keffing. My guy Mardok is so hilarious and the whole situation between him and Farli is so freaking hilarious. When he saw the humans “God their ugly.” I LAUGHED SO HARD. I love Farlis cheerful personality and how she seduces him so “innocently” like mhm Farli girl I see u okkkk.
3.) Summer/Warrek I love a bubbly girl and mysteriously quiet guy trope. Sue me. Warrek may be quiet but with summer he speaks a whole lot and I think that’s the most romantic thing tbh. But Summer??? HNNN WE LOVE A SMART TALKATIVE BURNT EYEBROW BADASS ASIAN QUEEEEEEEEENNNNN! girl was in chess club and since I was also in chess club I understood the chess dialogue so that was bonus points for me. Also summer brought the whole g spot for the entire village. Your welcome.
4.) Josie/Haeden. Originally when I finished they were my new favorite. I love Haeden so much and his love for Josie and Josies love for him blossoming made me sigh contently. Plus when he tackled the other guy playing soccer I knew I would love their book and entire dynamic. Also they fucked as they walked and that was H O T Ok?!? FREAKIN SUE ME
5.) Georgie/Vektal. Of course the OG couple who started it all. Y’all already know. And when my guy said he was chief hooooo boy you know that did some primal shit to me in ways you can only imagine.
Honorable mentions:
Kate/Harrec- I still think about how they resonated to this day and that was 10/10 stuff. Their dynamic was freakin adorbs. Didnt make the list because I didn’t like how they dragged it on too long. (I mean most of the books do so ya kno)
Kira/Aehako: I love their chemistry. They didn’t make the list because I thought Kira was being silly sometimes but thas me.
Tiffany/Saluk: don’t you love it when a guy knows what he wants but he’s patient for you? Me too. Didn’t make the list because I liked the other couples more that’s it. LMAO
I loved all the other couples but I needed to get my favs off my chest there. Whatcha think who are your favs? Also am I reading the rest of ruby Dixon books? Yes. Yes I am. I need help please send it I can’t stop.
