Olympic Athletics: Olympians and Paralympians join new USOPC Think Tank for college athletics
A think tank will be recognized this month by the US Olympic & Paralympic Committee (USOPC) to identify results. Help sustain Olympic and Paralympic programming chances within college athletics. A list of 34 names counting Olympians, Paralympians, coaches, and managers has been announced for the joint venture. With the USOPC Collegiate Advisory Council (CAC), officially called the USOPC College Game Sustainability Think Tank.

"Our country’s sole college scheme is critical not just to the health of our Olympic and Paralympic teams, but to the ancient vitality of game across our country," supposed USOPC chief executive Sarah Hirshland.
Today is the time to accumulate leaders who are fervent about keeping this bionetwork strong for today’s athletes and for the peers to come. The USOPC think tank will pledge three working groups absorbed in the areas of partnerships, game economics, and regulations. Chaired by Scott Stricklin, University of Florida athletics manager, the effort are teamwork across schools, the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), the USOPC, national leading bodies, and Side USA athletes.
The partnerships employed group will travel options to drive national arrangement around Olympic and Paralympic sport constructions and examine inventive collaboration chances across a diversity of stakeholder groups.
The 11-member group includes Greg Byrne (chair), University of Alabama athletics manager, Gene Smith, Ohio State University senior vice leader and athletic director, Jennifer Frasier, NCAA director of division I supremacy, Katie Bynum, USOPC chief strategy & growth officer, Max Siegel, USA Track & Field chief managerial, Cayla Barnes, Olympian and Boston College student-athlete, Jessica Heims, Paralympian (track and field).
University of Northern Iowa student-athlete, Brett Gorman, US Rowing manager of coaching education and US Rowing national side coach, Martin Jarmond, the University of California and Los Angeles manager of athletics, Greg Brown, former Lear field IMG College Chief and chief executive and Caroline Rebello, Evolution Media Capital managing director. The sports economics working group will review sport-specific and nationwide sport economic organization models to promote sustainable actions for lasting game sponsorship.
The 11-member group is included of Rob Mullens (chair), University of Oregon athletic director, Sandy Barbour, Pennsylvania State University vice leader for intercollegiate athletics, Kathleen McNeely, NCAA senior vice-president of direction and chief financial officer, and Sarah Hirshland.
USOPC chief managerial, Rich Bender, USA Wrestling executive director and USOPC Board associate, Sho Nakamori, former national side member (gymnastics) and Stanford University student-athlete, Maddie Musselman, Olympian (water polo) and the University of California, Los Angeles student-athlete, Jeremy Fischer, USA Track & Field national side coach, Val Ackerman, Big East Conference Commissioner, Jamie Pollard, Iowa State University manager of athletics and Don Bruce, the University of Tennessee Professor in the Haslam College of Business.
The rules working cluster will explore controlling changes to allow schools more agility to manage their game profiles in a meaningful and sustainable way. The group includes Chris Plonsky (chair), University of Texas chief of staff, and managerial senior associate athletics director. Bubba Cunningham, University of North Carolina manager of athletics, and Stan Wilcox. NCAA executive vice-president of controlling affairs, Rick Adams, USOC chief of sports performance & NGB facilities.
Pat Kelleher, USA Hockey policymaking director, Kendall Spencer, national side member (track and field), and University of New Mexico student-athlete. Sierra Schmidt, national side member (swimming) and the University of Michigan student-athlete, Adam Krikorian. Ray Anderson, Arizona State University vice-president for university athletics and Jim Knowlton, University of California, Berkeley's director of athletics.
