SECONDARY REFERENCE:

Jessica Madova is a sixteen year old photographer that takes pictures of her friends to subconsciously document their memories of each other together. Her style is unconstrained and spontaneous which presents a raw depiction of her daily life and energy of youth. Similarly to my project.

She uses illustrations and collages alongside her photographs to add an unstructured feeling when looking at work. This in turn, adds more depth to her work as audiences are able to compare both mediums of work and work out the narrative in different ways.

I’d like my work to reflect this as my primary images will connect more seemingly next to my samples.

02/11/23- RESPONSE:

Madovas work has inspired me to use my primary work (an image of me as a child) and incorporate both my practical work, such as my weaves and secondary work. These illustrations have been created using fine liners and tape to recreate my original image.
