Bailey Zappe, a fourth-round rookie, took over for Jones in the second quarter after he had successfully led the Patriots on two scoreless drives and thrown an interception. The Gillette Stadium crowd intermittently chanted "Zappe" throughout the entire game. The 23-year-old Zappe directed New England's two straight touchdown drives, which included a 30-yard touchdown pass to Jakobi Myers. Zappe struggled throughout the game, losing a fumble and tossing two late interceptions. However, the Bears turned the game around by scoring 23 straight points to win.
